And Haaland, 20, is at the top of Chelsea’s wish list.
The Borussia Dortmund star has scored 57 goals across 59 games during 18 months in Germany.
And Chelsea are ready to shatter their club transfer record by sealing a deal potentially worth £150million.
Haaland reportedly ‘expects’ at Stamford Bridge switch this summer.
And it’s even been claimed he’s already agreed lucrative personal terms on a five-year contract.
Chelsea fans believe having Haaland up top will see them challenge Manchester City for the title next term.
And Petit, who spent three years in south-west London, has urged the Blues to pull out all the stops considering their current lack of firepower.
Petit told Paddy Power: “I’ll make it simple. Giroud is on his way out of Chelsea, Tammy Abraham is probably leaving on loan.

“Timo Werner is still struggling to score goals consistently and Kai Havertz is not a striker. Chelsea need a new striker and someone who scores lots of goals.
“Haaland is the answer. He’s strong, powerful and young with a bright future in front of him.
“Haaland’s value is already very high, and connections with Tuchel increase his chance of joining Chelsea.
“Offensively, he could become the finisher that Chelsea really need. I can imagine his relationship with Mount, Havertz, Pulisic and Ziyech making him score lots of goals at Stamford Bridge.
“Chelsea needs a top striker, it’s as simple as that.”

How Brighton could line up next season with Dan James and Joe Rodon but no Ben White after transfer spree

BRIGHTON are in danger of losing defender Ben White, with several Premier League giants reportedly after the England star. But manager Graham Potter is believed to be interested in reinvesting some of White’s transfer fee on two of his former players.

The ex-Swansea boss is rumoured to be interested in working with Manchester United winger Dan James again.
The 23-year-old played 33 Championship games under Potter during the 2018-19 season before moving to the Red Devils for a reported £15million.
James featured just 15 times in the Premier League for United last term and could be persuaded by the promise of regular top-flight football.
Rodon was also a regular under Potter at Swansea during the 2018-19 campaign, playing 27 Championship games at centre-back.
The 23-year-old went on to join Spurs last October but, like James, struggled to get on the pitch, making just 14 appearances in all competitions.
Rodon could replace White in Brighton’s defence as he’s been rumoured to be on the verge of leaving the south coast.

Arsenal are the favourites to sign the England international but Chelsea are reportedly planning on making a last-minute offer for the player.
Rodon would likely partner captain Lewis Dunk at their heart of Brighton’s defence with full-backs Tariq Lamptey and Dan Burn playing either side.
Potter could continue with a 4-3-3 formation, deploying Adam Lallana, Yves Bissouma and another potential signing – Enock Mwepu – in midfield.
Brighton are interested in buying the 23-year-old Zambia international from Red Bull Salzburg, according to The Athletic.
Mwepu made 29 league appearances last term as Salzburg won their eighth consecutive Austrian title.

The English coach will be hoping not to lose star midfielder Bissouma, who’s been linked with a move to several Prem clubs this summer.
If James does swap Manchester for the seaside, he could play on the right of a front three alongside Neal Maupay and Danny Welbeck.
Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez is likely to remain Potter’s No1 between the sticks having been included in Spain’s squad for Euro 2020.
The 23-year-old stopper has enjoyed a remarkable rise in recent months, spending the 2019-20 season on loan at then League One side Rochdale.

How Chelsea could line up with Erling Haaland, Declan Rice and Ben White if they pull off amazing triple transfer swoop

CHELSEA boss Thomas Tuchel has lined up a trio of high-profile targets to bolster the spine of his squad. With a Champions League win under his belt, owner Roman Abramovich is ready to give the German boss a transfer warchest to improve the squad.

And that could mean wonderkid Erling Haaland, Euros star Declan Rice and Ben White could be heading to Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel is eager to land a new front man and Borussia Dortmund ace Haaland is at the top of his shortlist.
It has even been reported that Chelsea have agreed personal terms with the 20-year-old although a transfer fee remains the biggest stumbling block.
Dortmund want £150million for their main man this summer but that price drops to around £69m next year due to a release clause in his contract.
Chelsea are also eager to bolster their midfield with the addition of long-standing target Rice.
The defensive midfielder’s stock continues to grow while he stars for England in their quest for Euros glory.
Rice, 22, will not leave on the cheap with West Ham adamant they won’t cash in on their main man.
But it is believed an offer of around £100m could convince the Hammers to cash in with Rice eager to make the move back to his boyhood club.

His arrival would surely make Chelsea’s midfield one of the strongest in Europe if he lines up alongside N’Golo Kante.
Tuchel is also ready to improve his defence by pipping Arsenal to the signature of Ben White.
The Brighton ace appeared to be heading to the Emirates in a £50m deal.
But the Transfer Window Podcast claims the Blues have told the Brighton defender they want to sign him this summer.
Chelsea have a space free for a new central defender following Fikayo Tomori’s AC Milan move.

Chelsea in talks with Eduardo Camavinga’s agent after incredulous Rennes ‘laugh’ at Man Utd’s proposed £26m transfer bid

CHELSEA have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race to prise French starlet Eduardo Camavinga away from Rennes. With the midfielder having just one year left on his deal at Roazhon Park, the Ligue 1 side are expected to cash in on the 18-year-old.

The Red Devils are understood to be eyeing up an offer for the Les Bleus international, with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claiming he could be available for as little as £26million.
It has been stated that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were making progress in their quest to lure the teenager to Old Trafford.
But according to Get French Football News, the player’s priority is to join Paris Saint-Germain, though they are yet to make a formal bid.
They also state that Thomas Tuchel is pushing for a move, with the Blues in talks with Camavinga’s agent Jonathan Barnett.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is willing to splash the cash this summer following the club’s second Champions League crown.
Real Madrid are also said to be in negotiations with Barnett as Carlo Ancelotti looks to provide competition for Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
Meanwhile GFFN have revealed that the reported £26m price tag for Camavinga is far from the truth.
A source told the news outlet that they would laugh should United or any other club offered that sum for Camavinga, with the bid to be instantly turned down.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Camavinga, with Mikel Arteta claimed to have made him his top target.
And the Gunners were given a boost in their hopes of securing his services after Barnett declared the player would be willing to join a team not competing in a European tournament.
He said: “Believe me we have a lot of offers for this year, a lot of offers, and good ones. I mean top, top clubs.
“He is good enough [to play for a Champions League club]. But we don’t want to rush anybody. I am an old man and I’ve learnt a lot of lessons in football as well.
“There is the right time to move on and playing games is the most important thing at his age. Playing in a good club is nice and learning for him.”

Chelsea set to ‘shock Arsenal with last-gasp transfer swoop for £50million Brighton and England star Ben White’

Chelsea have a space free for a new central defender following Fikayo Tomori’s AC Milan move.
And England international White could now be set to play for Thomas Tuchel’s European champions next term.
Arsenal were thought to be leading the race for White after making several bids.
SunSport also revealed Everton were interested too following Rafa Benitez’s appointment.
But £50million-rated White could instead be going to Stamford Bridge.
And Premier League champions Manchester City are also keeping tabs.
Duncan Castles said: “We’ve told you there’s been interest and a conversation with Man City.
“I now understand that Chelsea have notified the player of their interest in signing him.

“I think that’s significant competition for Arsenal because Chelsea can obviously offer Champions League football, can offer a club based in London in the same way that Arsenal can.
“But one that should be immediately competitive for the Premier League title, and one that hasn’t had much hesitation about spending aggressively of Ben White’s profile and age range.
“I think on previous podcasts we suggested that once serious offers started to come in for White, it is likely that other clubs would get involved in a competitive bidding process.
“And I think a competitive bidding process is obviously going to be of benefit to Brighton.”

AC Milan hope to land ‘opportunistic’ transfer swoop and sign Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech on loan

AC MILAN are hoping to land Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech in an ‘opportunistic’ swoop this summer. The Moroccan midfielder, 28, only joined the Blues in a £36.7million deal from Ajax last summer.
AC Milan are hoping to sign Hakim Ziyech on loan from Chelsea, according to reportsCredit: AFP
But after failing to nail down a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s XI, Milan are hoping to bring Ziyech to the San Siro on loan.
The Serie A giants have lost star man Hakan Calhanoglu on a free this summer to rivals Inter Milan.
And they are desperately looking to replace the Turkey star with a like-for-like attacking midfielder.
Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho and Everton ace James Rodriguez are believed to have been offered to Milan.
But according to Corriere dello Sport, Ziyech is the top target for Rossoneri chiefs.
Milan bosses are set to wait until the end of the transfer window to make their move for Morocco international in the hope Chelsea will be in a better position to know what Ziyech’s role will be in 2021-22.
With the likes of Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Timo Werner all seemingly ahead of Ziyech in the pecking order, his opportunities are likely to be limited.
The Blues could allow the former Ajax star to spend a season away at another Big Five club to keep his match sharpness and reassess in 2022.

Ziyech featured in 33 games in all competitions last season – including just 15 Premier League starts – scoring four goals.
Chelsea have already confirmed Billy Gilmour has joined recently-promoted Norwich on a season-long loan.
Gilmour, 20, performed brilliantly for Scotland against England at Euro 2020, having produced impressive cameos for the Blues over the last two seasons.
And he will now link up with Daniel Farke’s Canaries for pre-season, having recovered from Covid-19.

Inter Milan ‘confident’ Chelsea transfer target Romelu Lukaku WILL STAY after Belgium’s painful Euro 2020 exit

CHELSEA have been dealt a setback in their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku as the striker is set to stay at Inter Milan, according to reports.Inter Milan were expected to sell players this summer due to financial fair play concerns but the imminent sale of Achraf Hakimi to PSG has reportedly resolved that issue.
Romelu Lukaku exited Euro 2020 as Belgium lost to Italy on Friday
And according to Fabrizio Romano, Inter do not need to sell another big name.
He told his Twitch stream: “Lukaku is so happy with Inter. I think he is staying. The feeling at Inter is that Lukaku’s staying.
“After selling Hakimi I don’t see Inter selling another star this summer, unless there is a crazy bid.”
Lukaku has previously committed his future to the Serie A champions, at least verbally.
He responded he was “happy at Inter” when Trevor Sinclair asked if he fancied a move to Manchester City in June.
And after Simone Inzaghi was appointed as Antonio Conte’s replacement Lukaku said: “I am staying at Inter. I’ve already had contact with new manager Inzaghi.
“Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet… but it was a very positive conversation. There’s also the challenge of doing it again [winning the league].”

Chelsea are believed to be keen on signing a striker this summer and have also targeted Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.
And the Norwegian is said to be expecting a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
But first Thomas Tuchel could make former Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey his first signing as Blues boss.

Chelsea set to make shock Wayne Hennessey contract offer to be back-up keeper after 34-year-old left Crystal Palace

Thomas Tuchel is yet to make a signing at ChelseaCredit: PA
He spent eight years at the club and made 110 appearances in the Premier League but lost his place in the side to Vicente Guaita.
And now Chelsea are set to make a shock move for the veteran, according to the Express.
Willy Cabellero left Stamford Bridge last month and Thomas Tuchel is keen to add experience to his goalkeeping options.
The Blues boss has Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga at his disposal and it is believed Hennessey would act as the third-choice keeper.
He would fulfil a similar role to the one Rob Green performed when he was at Chelsea for the 2018/19 season.
And Hennessey could become Tuchel’s first signing as Chelsea boss.
The 47-year-old is chasing other options however, and will have been alert to the fact Declan Rice recently rejected two West Ham contract offers.

    England vs Ukraine betting special

Also, Erling Haaland reportedly expects a move to Chelsea this summer, while Sergio Ramos is another high profile name linked to the club.
It is possible Hennessey will be the first of many to arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer.
And such arrivals could help the club get over the disappointment of missing out on targets such as Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku.
