Erling Haaland told he would succeed at Chelsea and fit in to English culture by ex-Blues striker Tore Andre Flo

CHELSEA legend Tore Andre Flo has told his fellow Norwegian Erling Haaland he would be a big hit at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have tried in vain to persuade Dortmund to accept a players-plus-cash deal for the £150m-rated hotshot.

Now they are reportedly set to table an offer of £135m to try and get the 20-year-old star.
Flo spent three years at Chelsea from 1997 and enjoyed cult status amongst the Shed End faithful after 34 goals in 112 Premier League matches for the club.
He helped fire the West Londoners to FA Cup and Uefa Cup Winners’ Cup success during that period.
And the 48-year-old has backed Haaland to be successful himself should he make the switch from Dortmund.
He told Bookmakers.co.uk: “I don’t think he would have much problem adapting to English football.
“The culture over in England is quite similar and the way of living for someone coming from Norway would be quite easy, or at least it was for me.
“We all already speak the language quite well, so there should be no problem there.”
Flo continued: “Obviously, on the pitch, it can be much tougher because it’s a very tough league, tougher than any other in the world I think.
“That is the biggest challenge for players coming from Scandinavia.
“But then that’s a challenge for most players coming to the Premier League from other countries.”

Whether it is Chelsea or elsewhere Haaland ends up, Flo has no doubts he will prove to be a huge hit.
He added: “I think pretty much any club would be a good fit for him because he’s an exceptionally good player and has scored a lot of goals.
“He seems to just get better and better. With what he’s shown so far, especially in the Champions League against all types of very good opposition, he’s proven that he can score goals at any level.”

Chelsea ‘set to launch £135m Haaland transfer offer’ despite being able to buy Dortmund star for HALF that next year

CHELSEA are reportedly preparing a £135million bid for Erling Haaland. The Blues have tried in vain to persuade the Bundesliga side to accept a players-plus-cash deal for the £150m-rated hotshot.

Sun Sport exclusively revealed how that has forced the Champions League holders to revive their interest in Bayern Munich’s record-breaking Robert Lewandowski as they try to give boss Thomas Tuchel the prolific goalscorer he wants.
However, Haaland remains Chelsea’s No1 target and 90mins claims they are now readying a ‘monster offer’ for the Norwegian.
And those claims have been backed up by various other sources since.
One of those was former Premier League and Norway star Jan Aage Fjortoft, who told ESPN that a ‘fantasy bid’ of £135m is set to arrive on Dortmund’s desk.
He said: “Chelsea have him as their main target.
“They would like to test Dortmund with a fantasy offer, and a fantasy offer will be around €150m (£135m) – double what they can get for him next summer.”
Chelsea are desperate to get their hands on the 20-year-old now rather than wait until next year – even if Haaland will be available for £65m then.Chelsea are keen to keep the transfer fee down as they know both Mino Raiola and Haaland’s father Alf-Inge will command hefty agent fees.
But Dortmund are determined to hold onto the striker for at least another season.
They have already lost Jadon Sancho to Manchester United and they are loath to lose their talisman as well.

Fjortoft added: “It’s interesting to follow, but most likely, he will stay with Dortmund.
“Dortmund are saying all the time ‘he will stay, he will stay’.
“They said that about [Jadon] Sancho one year ago and he stayed, so it is most likely that Haaland will still be a Dortmund player in this coming season, but we’re waiting for that big, big offer from Chelsea.”

Chelsea told to fork out staggering £100m transfer fee for Declan Rice as West Ham set huge price for England ace

DECLAN RICE could cost Chelsea a whopping £100million should the Champions League winners make a move for the England star. The Athletic claim West Ham are after the megabucks fee from suitors interested in their star with Manchester United and the Blues thought to be keen.

Rice is currently enjoying a well-earned break in Mykonos with fellow England stars Mason Mount and Luke ShawCredit: Instagram / @declanrice
Rice, 22, was among England’s most acclaimed Euro 2020 performers, appearing in all their games including their loss to Italy in the final.
The combative midfielder made 35 appearances for the Irons across all competitions last term netting twice to help them finish sixth in the top-flight.
And the Hammers’ standing in the table last term means the side will compete in the Europa League for the first time since the 2016-17 season.
Rice, who began his career in Chelsea’s Academy at 14, currently has three years left on his contract with David Moyes’ side who play Reading in a friendly next.
The extension on his contract was agreed back in December 2018.
It is thought the club are reluctant to part company with their young captain.
And they expect to be compensated with an eye-watering fee should a Rice exit come to fruition.
    RICE IN MOYES’ PLANS
And while Stamford Bridge boss Thomas Tuchel is reportedly impressed with Rice’s talents, it is uncertain as to whether the Blues would permit a £100m bid for the player.
And the Metro reports the Irons gaffer Moyes has no interest in bidding farewell to the midfielder.
Moyes, 58, said: “We’ve just qualified for Europe, it’s a brilliant achievement.
“Declan (Rice) has been a big part of that and we want him to be a big part of what we do next year as well.
“I don’t think (club owners) David Sullivan, David Gold or myself have got any intention of losing Declan.
COMPETITION: SPOT THE BALL TO WIN A CAR AND CASH

This month SunSport exclusively revealed West Ham are attempting to tie Rice down to a bumper new deal following Felipe Anderson’s departure to Lazio.
It is thought the club are looking to use wages freed up from the Brazilian’s move to Serie A.
It is claimed the winger was on a £100,000-a-week salary with West Ham reportedly keen on using a share of this in a new deal for Rice.

Chelsea ‘leaving no stone unturned’ in Erling Haaland transfer pursuit but chances of player-swap in £150m deal slim

CHELSEA are reportedly ‘leaving no stone unturned’ in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. The Blues have tried in vain to persuade the Bundesliga side to accept a players-plus-cash deal for the £150m-rated hotshot.

As Sun Sport exclusively revealed how that has forced the Champions League holders to revive their interest in Bayern Munich’s record-breaking Robert Lewandowski as they try to give boss Thomas Tuchel the prolific goalscorer he wants.
However, Haaland remains Chelsea’s No1 target although Sky Germany claims they have ‘not made an official offer’ or ‘officially spoken to Dortmund’ about the star.
But they have contacted ‘middlemen’ to sound out whether a possible swap deal would be of interest.
And today’s report states a number of individuals who Tuchel would be willing to give to Dortmund to secure Haaland.
The first one is Tammy Abraham – who has struggled for action under Tuchel – but the Yellow and Blacks are not keen.
Winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is the next name suggested, although the report states the 20-year-old has no interest in heading to Dortmund.
Hakim Ziyech is another suggested for a potential swap.
Despite struggling in his first season at Stamford Bridge following last summer’s arrival from Ajax, Chelsea want to hold on to the forward.

And if they do decide to cut their losses, Italian giants AC Milan are keen to sign him.
The last name mentioned as a possible swap is Timo Werner.
The 25-year-old also struggled in his maiden campaign in West London and it is stated the Blues ‘can well imagine’ him being part of a package for Haaland.

Crystal Palace have signed Marc Guehi from Chelsea on a five-year deal
And Guehi, who only played twice for the Blues under former boss Frank Lampard. was tipped by many Chelsea fans as a future club star.

New Eagles boss Patrick Vieira has already boosted his ranks with highly-rated young attacker Michael Olise.
And Guehi is now the latest exciting addition to Palace’s squad.
He played 45 times for the Championship Swans last season
Eagles chairman Steve Parish added: “We’re delighted to have signed Marc for Crystal Palace.

Broja, 19, made his Blues debut last year under Frank Lampard.
The Albania international spent last term on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, scoring 11 goals in 34 games.
And after impressing Tuchel in pre-season training, Broja has now committed his future on a long-term deal.
Chelsea are known to be in the market for a new forward.
But with Olivier Giroud sold to AC Milan, and Tammy Abraham’s future uncertain, Broja now looks set to become a member of the senior group.
The teen said: “I am really excited to be signing a new contract with Chelsea.
“Having come through the academy here it was a special moment for me to make my first-team debut last year, before gaining further experience on loan at Vitesse last season.
“I want to build on these foundations and I am really looking forward to progressing and making an impact at Chelsea in the years to come.”

Chelsea to make £50m transfer swoop for Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski after failing to land Erling Haaland

CHELSEA will swoop to prise Robert Lewandowski away from Bayern Munich in a £50million deal. The Blues have tried in vain to persuade Borussia Dortmund to accept a players-plus-cash deal for £150m-rated hotshot Erling Haaland.

That has forced the European champions to revive their interest in record-breaking Lewandowski as they try to give boss Thomas Tuchel the prolific goalscorer he wants.
But Chelsea face a fight on their hands to bring Bayern to the negotiating table for the Poland international.
The German champions want Lewandowski, 32, to sign an extension to his current deal, which does not expire until 2023.
He broke Gerd Muller’s longstanding record for Bundesliga goals in a season by notching his 41st in the last minute of the final game of last season.
But Lewandowski is keen for one last adventure before his illustrious career ends and would relish a move to the Premier League.
Bayern are not unsympathetic to his desires but know that selling their talismanic striker, especially without a suitable replacement, would send a bad message.
Manchester City had been linked with Lewandowski but Etihad sources last week ruled out a move.
But Chelsea  have the financial resources to test the German club’s resolve.
Lewandowski turns 33 next month and even Bayern’s head could be turned by a big bid for a player whose price will plummet if he runs down his contract.

Chelsea starlet Conor Gallagher, 21, WILL go on loan – with Crystal Palace and Newcastle fighting for midfielder

CONOR GALLAGHER will be allowed out on loan by Chelsea — with Crystal Palace and Newcastle scrapping for him.The midfielder, 21, had hoped to impress boss Thomas Tuchel after a season at West Brom but the door is open for him to leave again.

Chelsea do not want to sell Gallagher, however.
The academy product had been training with Tuchel’s first team in the past week and played in the 6-1 pre-season win over Peterborough United.
Palace are keen to take him for the season — and it also suits Toon chief Steve Bruce on that basis.
But the Eagles have been priced out of a move for Denmark centre-half Joachim Andersen, 25, after he impressed for Fulham on loan last season.
Parent club Lyon want around £26million.
Andersen has heard of potential Spurs interest but may now find they will look elsewhere.
Defender Gary Cahill, 35, is  being eyed by Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, who could give him £35,000 a week.
Palace want Cahill to stay and sign a new deal after his contract expired —  but the offer is less basic cash with extras for appearances.
Gallagher came on as a second half sub as the Blues beat the Posh at Cobham.
The visitors had opened the scoring but Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic gave Tuchel’s side the lead at the break.

Hakim Ziyech, also on as a substitute, scored a hat-trick with teenager Armando Broja also scoring.
Meanwhile, Chelsea confirmed that Olivier Giroud has left the club.
