Man Utd set for £47m cash boost as Inter Milan owe Romelu Lukaku transfer payment with more to come if he joins Chelsea

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly still owed £47million by Inter Milan in Romelu Lukaku transfer payments. And they could earn even more if the striker joins Chelsea this summer due to a sell-on clause they have.

Inter signed Lukaku for £73million in 2019 from United and agreed a deal to pay in instalments.
But according to The Express, the Italian champions still have £47m left to pay.
Lukaku, 28, helped Inter to their first league title in 11 years last season with 24 goals in 36 games.
But the club are still struggling financially, with debts of close to £548million, a primary reason manager Antonio Conte left.
And while Inter do not want to lose hitman Lukaku, Chelsea have already bid for the Belgian, who they had from 2011-2014.
    UNITED’S SELL-ON CLAUSE
SunSport revealed they turned down an approach of £86m with left-back Marcos Alonso, 30, included in the deal.
And it is believed Inter want at least £100m guaranteed for the man who snubbed a Blues return in 2017 to instead join United.
But when Lukaku left Old Trafford, a sell-on clause entitling United to four and five per cent of any future sale was put on, The Telegraph say.
It means Chelsea could give their Premier League rivals and even bigger financial boost if they land the Belgium international.
Stamford Bridge boss Thomas Tuchel has made it clear to them he needs a top-class striker to help bridge the gap between themselves and champions City this season.

The Blues originally prioritised a move for Erling Haaland, 21, but despite applying pressure have found Borussia Dortmund unwilling to drop their £170m asking price.
And they have found Bayern Munich just as tough to crack after enquiring about the availability of Robert Lewandowski.
With Harry Kane intent on moving to City it leaves Lukaku as the most viable of the best strikers in the world to get a deal done for, but it will come at a cost.

Romelu Lukaku wants Chelsea transfer from Inter Milan as Belgian striker has unfinished business at the club

ROMELU LUKAKU is keen on a move back to Chelsea because he has unfinished business at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have failed with two attempts to sign the Inter Milan striker, most recently a bid of £85MILLION that included defender Marcos Alonso.

Inter want the European champions to come up with at least £100m.
SunSport understands Lukaku wants to finally show he is the real deal in west London.
The 28-year-old was not given a decent crack at proving himself when he was a Chelsea player at the start of his career before being flogged to Everton for £28m in 2014.
Lukaku made just ten Prem appearances for the Blues having joined as an 18-year-old from Anderlecht three years earlier.
But now having been targeted as the striker owner Roman Abramovich wants to lead a title tilt, the Belgian knows he will finally be valued as the main man at Chelsea.
Though he is aware this could be the last chance to be snapped up by a club capable of competing with the best in Europe, the former Manchester United man will not agitate for a move away from Inter.
He would have been happy to remain with the club after two successful seasons in Italy where his game has moved onto another level.
But it is hard for Inter to compete with the kind of ambition that a move to Chelsea offers.

The Blues are fresh off the back of a Champions League win, with an exciting squad needing just a world class centre-forward to be able to challenge champions Manchester City.
In contrast, though Inter won Serie A last season, they have lost boss Antonio Conte and already flogged defender Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain to bring in much-needed money.
Inter expect Chelsea to return with an improved third bid by the weekend but defender Alonso, 30, is understood to need convincing that moving to Milan is right for him.

Chelsea and Udinese in ‘ongoing’ transfer talks over loan deal for starlet Armando Broja

They have now tied him down long-term following his return to Stamford Bridge.
The 19-year-old – who has been part of Chelsea’s first team during pre-season – has agreed to stay until June 2026.
However, it appears he may be heading to Italy in order to gain further experience.
That’s according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who claims ‘talks are ongoing’ between Chelsea and Udinese over a potential loan.
SunSport revealed back in May that Thomas Tuchel’s side were poised to open contracts with Broja after his standout stint on loan last season.
The forward followed in Mason Mount’s footsteps in spending a term at Vitesse in the Eredivisie – where he netted 11 goals in 34 games.
His prolific form for the Blues’ academy saw his stock rise and Chelsea were aware Broja would be in demand after his spell in the Netherlands.
The Albanian has already made his Premier League debut for the West Londoners under former boss Frank Lampard.

Broja was handed a late cameo during Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Everton in March 2020 and will hope to be involved again next season.
The club have already seen Olivier Giroud close in on a cut-price move to AC Milan and may need additional cover upfront.
Tammy Abraham has also been linked with a return to Aston Villa with Arsenal and West Ham also keen.

Chelsea have £86m Romelu Lukaku transfer offer involving Marcos Alonso rejected as Inter demand £100m fee

CHELSEA have had an £86million bid for Romelu Lukaku involving Marcos Alonso rejected. The European champions have identified the 28-year-old Belgian as their number one striker target – but have been told by Inter Milan to stump up £100m.

It comes is after the Blues were met with a brick wall in their attempts to try to persuade Borussia Dortmund to do a deal for Erling Haaland.
But with Inter having no intention of being bullied into selling their main man, Roman Abramovich will have to come up with an even bigger offer.
Chelsea made their initial offer of £86m for the player they sold to Everton for £28m seven years ago.
But Inter rate Lukaku as one of the top strikers in world football so are asking for a nine-figure sum.
Now Abramovich and director Marina Granovskaia face having to pay way more than they planned if they want to land the forward and not leave the squad short for the coming season.
Boss Thomas Tuchel has made it clear to them he needs a top-class striker to help bridge the gap between themselves and champions Manchester City this season.
Tammy Abraham has been told he can leave after failing to convince Tuchel he is up to the task, and Olivier Giroud has already quit Stamford Bridge for AC Milan.

Chelsea looking to offload Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan transfer to Bundesliga clubs to get career back on track

CHELSEA are looking into sending Ruben Loftus-Cheek to Germany’s Bundesliga to get his career back on track. The former England midfielder, 25, is currently out of the picture at Stamford Bridge.

There is still plenty of Premier League interest in the star.
That is despite him having a quiet campaign at relegated Fulham.
But Germany can prepare him for a return — or increase his value.
A bad heel injury ended Loftus-Cheek’s 2018-19 campaign before the Europa League final win over Arsenal, after a career-high 40 appearances during the season.
And his opportunities at the Blues have been limited since.
The England international spent 2020-21 on loan at Fulham.
But he endured a difficult campaign as the Whites were relegated and he contributed just one goal.
SunSport understands Southampton are also keen on his services.

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma ‘ready to snub Sevilla after being offered in swap transfer for Jules Kounde’

CHELSEA’S £50million plus Kurt Zouma bid for Jules Kounde is on the rocks after claims the Blues defender wants to stay in England.Kounde has long been one of Chelsea’s top targets, but has been branded with a bumper price-tag of £68million.
Zouma’s Chelsea career appears to be over as he will either depart as part of a swap deal for Kounde or be sold to another Premier League clubCredit: Getty
With youngster Marc Guehi moving to Crystal Palace and Thiago Silva turning 37 this year, Thomas Tuchel is keen to reinforce his defence, with the Sevilla man emerging as his top pick.
Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with France defender Kounde, with surplus to requirements Zouma seemingly looking set to head the other way in a lucrative swap deal.
However, the Chelsea man could throw a spanner in the works if he refuses to be used as a makeweight in negotiations for the in-demand Sevilla centre-back, instead eyeing up a move across the capital amid interest from West Ham.
Zouma’s preference would be to remain in the Premier League, with the Hammers keen to strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign and eyeing up a £20million swoop for the Chelsea outcast.
Chelsea are prepared to let the defender leave this summer but value him at around £30million, which could rule West Ham out of a potential move if they do not lower their asking price.
Although Zouma’s reluctance to join Sevilla may provide a major stumbling block, it will not hamper Chelsea’s pursuit of Kounde, who remain determined to get their man.
Zouma, 26, struggled for game time at Chelsea last season, making only 24 Premier League appearances and failing to convince Tuchel of his ability.
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia and Sevilla director of football Monchi will meet today to progress talks over the proposed Kounde deal.

The 22-year-old has made no secret of his ambitions of playing in the Champions League and last year’s winners appear to be on the verge of securing the highly-rated defender ahead of their Premier League rivals.
Regarding his future, Kounde said: “It is certain that I will perhaps have to change clubs this summer, but nothing has been finalised yet, I have not decided anything.

Chelsea ‘reject Hakim Ziyech loan offer from AC Milan as Blues hold out for permanent transfer for Moroccan outcast’

CHELSEA have reportedly rejected a loan offer from AC Milan for Hakim Ziyech. The attacking midfielder, who sealed a £36.7million move to Stamford Bridge from Ajax in July 2020, has fallen out of favour after a difficult first year in the Premier League.

The Blues are only interested in a permanent deal for the MoroccanCredit: AFP
Ziyech only netted six goals in 39 appearances across all competitions last term.
Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Timo Werner are all thought to be ahead of the forward, it seems his chances of playing under Thomas Tuchel are looking slim.
The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a Milan move for several weeks over the summer.
Now Calciomercato claims the Blues have snubbed an attempt from the Serie A club to sign the Moroccan international on loan.
And that Chelsea are only interested in doing business if it is a permanent transfer.
The two sides enjoy warm relations after the recent move that took Olivier Giroud to Italy from West London.
Tuchel has so far failed to land a new forward after his advances were turned down by Inter ace Romelu Lukaku.
And his No1 target Erling Haaland looks set to stay at Borussia Dortmund.
But it seems he remains confident he will get a new man in as Chelsea are preparing to slash their asking price for Tammy Abraham, as we exclusively reported yesterday.
That’s after struggling to find any clubs willing to pay £40million for the England star.

Arsenal, West Ham and Aston Villa have all shown an interest in snapping up the 23-year-old.
But they have made it clear they do not have the budget to meet the current valuation.

Arsenal, West Ham and Aston Villa have all shown an interest in snapping up the 23-year-old.

And the Blues are so keen to move Abraham on to help finance a bid for their own striker this summer they are now reluctantly having to consider reducing their demands by at least £5m.
The impact of the coronavirus pandemic has left clubs in the top flight and in Europe having to balance their finances.
And that has been evident to Chelsea in their attempts to offload the forward.
For buying clubs have made it clear they are unable to put together a package which would not only meet the fee but then come up with a wage deal to tempt the player to sign.
West Ham boss David Moyes has a strong interest in trying to piece together a deal.

But he openly admits they cannot compete at the current asking price.
Ideally the Hammers would want the fee lowered to around £30m.
But they know if that happened then the Gunners could follow up their own interest in the striker sidelined by Thomas Tuchel last season.
