Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma ‘ready to snub Sevilla after being offered in swap transfer for Jules Kounde’

CHELSEA’S £50million plus Kurt Zouma bid for Jules Kounde is on the rocks after claims the Blues defender wants to stay in England.Kounde has long been one of Chelsea’s top targets, but has been branded with a bumper price-tag of £68million.
Zouma’s Chelsea career appears to be over as he will either depart as part of a swap deal for Kounde or be sold to another Premier League clubCredit: Getty
With youngster Marc Guehi moving to Crystal Palace and Thiago Silva turning 37 this year, Thomas Tuchel is keen to reinforce his defence, with the Sevilla man emerging as his top pick.
Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with France defender Kounde, with surplus to requirements Zouma seemingly looking set to head the other way in a lucrative swap deal.
However, the Chelsea man could throw a spanner in the works if he refuses to be used as a makeweight in negotiations for the in-demand Sevilla centre-back, instead eyeing up a move across the capital amid interest from West Ham.
Zouma’s preference would be to remain in the Premier League, with the Hammers keen to strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign and eyeing up a £20million swoop for the Chelsea outcast.
Chelsea are prepared to let the defender leave this summer but value him at around £30million, which could rule West Ham out of a potential move if they do not lower their asking price.
Although Zouma’s reluctance to join Sevilla may provide a major stumbling block, it will not hamper Chelsea’s pursuit of Kounde, who remain determined to get their man.
Zouma, 26, struggled for game time at Chelsea last season, making only 24 Premier League appearances and failing to convince Tuchel of his ability.
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia and Sevilla director of football Monchi will meet today to progress talks over the proposed Kounde deal.

The 22-year-old has made no secret of his ambitions of playing in the Champions League and last year’s winners appear to be on the verge of securing the highly-rated defender ahead of their Premier League rivals.
Regarding his future, Kounde said: “It is certain that I will perhaps have to change clubs this summer, but nothing has been finalised yet, I have not decided anything.
“My goal is to play in a big club to try to always progress and to win trophies. I might have to move, but that’s not relevant today.”

Chelsea ‘reject Hakim Ziyech loan offer from AC Milan as Blues hold out for permanent transfer for Moroccan outcast’

CHELSEA have reportedly rejected a loan offer from AC Milan for Hakim Ziyech. The attacking midfielder, who sealed a £36.7million move to Stamford Bridge from Ajax in July 2020, has fallen out of favour after a difficult first year in the Premier League.

The Blues are only interested in a permanent deal for the MoroccanCredit: AFP
Ziyech only netted six goals in 39 appearances across all competitions last term.
Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Timo Werner are all thought to be ahead of the forward, it seems his chances of playing under Thomas Tuchel are looking slim.
The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a Milan move for several weeks over the summer.
Now Calciomercato claims the Blues have snubbed an attempt from the Serie A club to sign the Moroccan international on loan.
And that Chelsea are only interested in doing business if it is a permanent transfer.
The two sides enjoy warm relations after the recent move that took Olivier Giroud to Italy from West London.
Tuchel has so far failed to land a new forward after his advances were turned down by Inter ace Romelu Lukaku.
And his No1 target Erling Haaland looks set to stay at Borussia Dortmund.
But it seems he remains confident he will get a new man in as Chelsea are preparing to slash their asking price for Tammy Abraham, as we exclusively reported yesterday.
That’s after struggling to find any clubs willing to pay £40million for the England star.

Arsenal, West Ham and Aston Villa have all shown an interest in snapping up the 23-year-old.
But they have made it clear they do not have the budget to meet the current valuation.
And the Blues are so keen to move Abraham on to help finance a bid for their own striker this summer they are now reluctantly having to consider reducing their demands by at least £5m.

And the Blues are so keen to move Abraham on to help finance a bid for their own striker this summer they are now reluctantly having to consider reducing their demands by at least £5m.
The impact of the coronavirus pandemic has left clubs in the top flight and in Europe having to balance their finances.
And that has been evident to Chelsea in their attempts to offload the forward.
For buying clubs have made it clear they are unable to put together a package which would not only meet the fee but then come up with a wage deal to tempt the player to sign.
West Ham boss David Moyes has a strong interest in trying to piece together a deal.
COMPETITION: SPOT THE BALL TO WIN A CAR AND CASH

But he openly admits they cannot compete at the current asking price.
Ideally the Hammers would want the fee lowered to around £30m.
But they know if that happened then the Gunners could follow up their own interest in the striker sidelined by Thomas Tuchel last season.

Chelsea ‘launch record £111m for Romelu Lukaku but Inter Milan star SNUBS transfer despite being offered £165k a week’

CHELSEA have reportedly failed with a record £111million bid to sign Romelu Lukaku with the Belgian snubbing their £165k-a-week deal.Inter are set to defend their Scudetto title next season but financial difficulties have led to player sales dominating their summer so far.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Belgian is refusing to consider the move
The 28-year-old, who has scored 64 goals in 95 appearances since his arrival from Manchester United in 2019, has been one of their stars to be linked with an exit.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea were willing to smash their record transfer outlay to bring the Belgian back to Stamford Bridge.
And they were also willing to bump up his pay packet and give him £165k-a-week.
However, this fresh update states that Lukaku wants to stay at Inter despite the huge salary on offer.
It also adds that he is now refusing to continue negotiations with the Blues.
Lukaku is under contract at the San Siro until 2024 and appears to have no intention of heading back to West London.
He originally played for Chelsea between 2011 and 2014 but only featured ten times in the Premier League for the club.
After a successful stint on loan with West Brom he then headed to Everton before that switch was made permanent in 2014.
After scoring 68 goals for the Toffees he joined United in 2017 but endured mixed fortunes at Old Trafford during his two-year period there before moving to Italy.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is desperate for a new striker this summer as he looks to mount a title challenge following last season’s Champions League success.
He continues to try and push to secure the services of Borussia Dortmund’s £150m-rated Erling Haaland.

Discussing a potential move to Chelsea with Sky in Germany, Haaland claimed he had no idea about the reports.
The Norway international said this week: “Before yesterday I haven’t talked to my agent in a month… you’ve to tell me.
“But I hope they are just rumours, as €175million [around £150m] would be a lot of money for one person.”

Chelsea ‘open Jules Kounde transfer talks and Sevilla defender open to Blues move’ in Man Utd blow

CHELSEA have reportedly opened talks with Sevilla for main defensive target Jules Kounde.Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that the 22-year-old is open to joining the Blues as he remains keen to play Champions League football.

The report adds that a potential deal will now come down to whether Chelsea can agree a fee with the LaLiga side for the centre-back.
SunSport previously reported that Manchester United were also interested in Kounde – despite nearing a move for his compatriot Raphael Varane.
Tottenham attempted to join the race for the Frenchman only to be snubbed as Spurs fail to offer Champions League football next season.
London rivals Chelsea meanwhile are the current European holders and have been keeping tabs on Kounde over the last month.
COMPETITION: SPOT THE BALL TO WIN A CAR AND CASH
Thomas Tuchel is eager to land a new central defender this summer with Thiago Silva turning 37 in September.
Kurt Zouma has also been linked with a move away while academy graduate Marc Guehi has already sealed a move to Crystal Palace.
Kounde was part of the France squad that suffered a shock loss to Switzerland in the Round of 16 at Euro 2020.
The former Bordeaux star made 34 top-flight appearances for Sevilla last term and scored three goals as Julen Lopetegui’s side finished fourth.

Kounde can play at both right-back and centre-half, the sort of versatility that is enticing several Premier League clubs.
He is under contract until 2024 at the Spanish side, and was a second-half substitute in Sevilla’s 4-0 loss to Chelsea back in December.
Bayern Munich stalwart Niklas Sule is another name thought to be among Tuchel’s list of defensive targets at Stamford Bridge this summer.

Arsenal want to offload Alexandre Lacazette in £15m transfer and push ahead with move for Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham

ARSENAL will not be offering a new contract to Alex Lacazette and are inviting bids for their former record signing.French international Lacazette, 30, is now in the final year of his £175,000-a-week Emirates deal and will become a free agent next summer.

Arsenal have lined up a move for Tammy AbrahamCredit: Getty
But the club have decided against extending the striker’s stay after previously being panicked into handing huge pay rises to Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Now they are trying to find a buyer willing to pay a fee in the region of £15million as well as Lacazette’s substantial salary.
And they will only follow up their interest in Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham if Lacazette leaves this summer.
But if there are no offers then manager Mikel Arteta will happily keep the player at the club for the new season as back-up to captain Aubameyang.
Arsenal paid £52m to sign Lacazette from Lyon in 2017 and he has been a steady if unspectacular source of goals during his four seasons in North London.
But like Sead Kolasinac, Rhys Nelson and Eddie Nketiah, whose Arsenal contracts also expire in 2022, he is now surplus to requirements.
Arsenal have already completed the signings of £17m Albert Sambi Lokonga and £7m Nuno Tavares this summer and will finalise a £50m deal for Brighton centre-half Ben White next week.
They are continuing to negotiate with Sheffield United for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale but have West Brom’s Sam Johnstone as a fall-back option if the relegated Blades refuse to lower their asking price.

Yet Arteta does not expect current number one Bernd Leno to leave this season despite the uncertainty surrounding the German international.
Leno is waiting to see which keeper is signed and how that will affect his position before making any decisions regarding his future.
But Arsenal want him to remain at the Emirates to battle it out with the new arrival with the promise of a move next summer if he is no longer first choice.

Chelsea youngster Myles Peart-Harris completes transfer to Premier League new boys Brentford on four-year deal

CHELSEA youngster Myles Peart-Harris has completed a move to Premier League new boys Brentford. The teenage midfielder has agreed a move across London to sign a four-year deal with the Bees.
Myles Peart-Harris has joined the Bees: Brentford FC
Peart-Harris had almost ten years with Chelsea and the 18-year-old spent last season playing at youth team and development squad level.
The talented attacking midfielder scored seven goals in 13 Premier League Two appearances last season.
He also featured for Chelsea Under-21 in the Papa John’s Trophy, scoring 11 goals in 23 appearances across all competitions.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank told the club website: “Myles is a very talented young player and an exciting signing for us.
“We see him playing as an ‘eight’ in our system and he fits the position profile perfectly for that. He is a dynamic midfield player, and he drives forward with the ball.
“Myles has great quality on the ball. He can score goals and deliver assists for us. He is great at arriving in the penalty area at the right time.
“There is also lots of development potential for our coaches to work with.

Chelsea ‘keeping tabs on PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe after Sergio Ramos free transfer but would need to sell first’

According to L’Equipe, Champions League winners Chelsea are eyeing up a potential move for Kimpembe.
PSG strengthened their defence this summer by signing legendary Real Madrid and Spain star Ramos.
Despite Chelsea’s interest in Kimpembe, there are reportedly a number of factors which could hinder a transfer.
Kimpembe is contracted at PSG for another three years and the vice-captain has a strong affinity to his boyhood club.
The powerful defender is likely to assess his first-team status before considering a move away from France.
Chelsea may also need to sell some of their own players before they can attempt to bring in the defender.
Kimpembe made four appearances for France during their Euro 2020 campaign this summer.
