CHELSEA have reportedly agreed personal terms with Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde on a deal until 2026.It was claimed on Sunday how the Blues were preparing a bid for the 22-year-old who boasts a £68million release clause in his contract.

German gaffer Thomas Tuchel has made bringing in a defender a priority this summer, but knows he must offload a centre-half in order to sign one.
And it is understood that Kurt Zouma could be heading out of Stamford Bridge to join West Ham after they met his £26million asking price.
Commenting on the potential deals, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed Chelsea just need to now agree a fee with Sevilla over Kounde.
He tweeted: “Jules Kounde has an agreement on personal terms with Chelsea until June 2026 since weeks.
“He’s ready to join if the two clubs reach an agreement but he’ll be respectful with Sevilla, not forcing his move.
“Zouma to West Ham, key to proceed. Talks ongoing on personal terms.”

Before adding: “The agreement between West Ham and Chelsea for Kurt Zouma is not a problem.
“Chelsea are prepared to sell as they want to sign Kounde as priority. Spurs are not in the race.”
The Champions League holders have only made one major signing this summer in Romelu Lukaku for £97.5m.

But they have recouped a whopping £93m in player sales, with the club offloading the likes of Tammy Abraham [£34m], Fikayo Tomoro [£25m] and Marc Guehi [£18m].
And they stand to earn more should they sell Zouma, along with youngster Ike Ugbo, who has been linked with a move to Genk for £4m.
Meanwhile full-back Davide Zappacosta is set to join Serie A side Atalanta on a permanent deal after two loan spells away.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are in touch with the Spanish club and are lining up a new bid for Kounde.
Sevilla will reportedly not accept a last-minute sale, before the transfer window shuts, which increases the need for Chelsea to agree a deal over the coming days.
Thomas Tuchel’s side have been attempting to bring in Kounde this summer but have yet to reach an agreement.
Kounde has a £68million release clause but Sevilla may be willing to accept a lower player-plus-cash offer.
Chelsea want to include defender Kurt Zouma in a potential transfer.
And West Ham are also keen to sign Zouma although the 26-year-old does not appear to be keen on a move across London.

Kounde, 22, has won two caps for France and his performances for Sevilla have earned him rave reviews.

Chelsea considering Saul Niguez transfer bid with Atletico Madrid in talks over his future as Blues work on Kounde deal

CHELSEA are reportedly considering a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez. The Blues have been busy in the transfer market this summer, splashing out a whopping £97.5million acquiring the services of Romelu Lukaku and free agent Marcus Bettinelli.

And a swoop for Spain international Saul could be on the cards for the West Londoners.
That’s according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who claims there’s a ‘possibility’ last season’s Champions League winners bring the 26-year-old to Stamford Bridge before the window closes a week on Tuesday.
Atletico are understood to be keen on keeping Saul at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium and will reportedly make a decision on his future in the coming days.
Atleti boss Diego Simeone recently said of the midfielder: “Last season he spoke with the club, with us about his needs and what he spoke about was the option of having a position on the pitch where he feels more important.
“And I consider that Saul became Saul by playing everywhere, but he or many of those around him see it as something negative.
“He is very important for Atletico because he can play as a full-back, right-wing, midfielder.

“He gives us a lot of options to be able to count on him.
“He is a player who, in that version and playing how the coach needs him to, performs very well.”
Chelsea are also reportedly working on a deal to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.
The Premier League big boys have already had an offer for the France international rejected.
Kounde is said to be Thomas Tuchel’s main defensive target, despite the recent emergence of Trevoh Chalobah.
And Spanish newspaper AS claims Chelsea will once again test Sevilla’s resolve to keep the 22-year-old at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
He is very important for Atletico because he can play as a full-back, right-wing, midfielderDiego Simeone on Saul Niguez
The Blues are said to be confident the La Liga side will lower their valuation of the versatile defender, despite the fact his release clause will increase after the transfer window closes.
News of Chelsea’s reported determination to sign Kounde comes less than 24 hours after Tuchel hinted Chalobah will be given his chance to shine this season.
The German said of the 22-year-old: “He took his chance very impressively.
“He played very good matches in pre-season, performed for 120 minutes against Villarreal and another strong 90 minutes against Crystal Palace.
“It’s logical that he stays here. He is a guy we want to keep and this is his status.
“It’s not a gift, it’s what he deserves for now.

“It’s a good situation and a good situation for us. I don’t know what it means for his contract.”
Chelsea will be back in action on Sunday afternoon, travelling to the Emirates to take on their London rivals Arsenal.
Niguez and Kounde, meanwhile, will next be in action on Sunday and Monday in Atletico and Sevilla’s respective clashes with Elche and Getafe.

The Stamford Bridge faithful are eagerly awaiting the prospect of the Belgian joining the German in Thomas Tuchel’s forward line.
Lukaku, 28, has now revealed he has been a fan of his new team-mate since he faced him in the Europa League quarter-finals last August.
And he claims he saw enough that night to convince him that he would be an ideal fit for Chelsea.
He told the club’s official website: “I spoke to Kai Havertz when we played against each other in the Europa League, and I told him to go to Chelsea, I don’t know if he remembers that conversation.”
Both men were on the scoresheet in that game but it was Lukaku’s Inter who beat the German side 2-1 to move into the semis.
Chelsea soon moved to bring Havertz to West London a year ago and he has already cemented his place in the club’s history with his Champions League-winning goal against Manchester City in May.

Meanwhile, Lukaku also revealed Didier Drogba has helped him settle into life at Chelsea once again.
The Belgian first arrived at Chelsea a decade ago and hit 113 goals for Manchester United, West Brom and Everton in England but none for the Blues.
He revealed how he and Drogba have been in constant communication following his comeback, saying: “Our relationship means the world to me.
“It’s not like we talk once a month, I talk to the guy every few days!
“We have a group chat so we’re constantly communicating and I’ve been on the phone with him a bit more in the past two weeks.
“I had a lot of questions to ask and he still knows a lot of people here so he really prepared me well with the last details.
“Now I just need to get to know the players and the manager a bit better and just be available as quickly as possible for the team.”

How Chelsea could make £88m to fund Jules Kounde transfer by flogging six outcasts including Barkley and Drinkwater

CHELSEA remain locked in talks with Sevilla to bring centre-back Jules Kounde to Stamford Bridge. The 22-year-old is understood to be a serious target for Thomas Tuchel as he looks to bolster his backline.
Chelsea could sell six fringe players in order to fund a move to sign top target Jules Kounde
But having forked out £97.5million to bring Romelu Lukaku back to West London, the Blues may need to offload players in order to sign the French defender.
According to transfermarkt, the Champions League holders could rake in as much as £88million by offloading six fringe players who are not in Tuchel’s plans.
But that is only if Chelsea sell them at their current transfer value.
Here SunSport takes a look at the six players that could be sold in order to fund a move to sign Kounde.
    Kurt Zouma – £29m
Valued at £29m, the French centre-back, 26, chipped in with five goals in 36 games for Chelsea last season.
But he has been deemed as surplus to requirements by Tuchel, with the club now looking to offload him seven years after he was signed.
West Ham were understood to be keen to secure his services, but have been put off by his £120,000-a-week wage demands.

    Ross Barkley – £18m
The former Everton playmaker has reportedly been told to find a new club by Chelsea after being stripped of his squad number.
Barkley, 27, spent last campaign on loan at Aston Villa where he scored three goals in 24 games.
He appeared in Chelsea’s 13-0 friendly win against National League side Weymouth on Sunday where he grabbed himself a hat-trick.

    Tiemoue Bakayoko – £18m
The French defensive midfielder hasn’t featured in an official game for Chelsea since the 2017-18 season.
He has spent the last three years on loan at AC Milan, Monaco and Napoli.
And following his impressive performances in Naples last season, Lyon are claimed to be ready to bring the player back to Ligue 1.

    Emerson Palmieri – £13m
The Italy international is behind Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso in the pecking order at Chelsea.
And the left-back has hinted he could soon be on his way out after declaring he wishes to play regular football.
He told ESPN Brasil: “I know it’s not easy, but I’m hungry to play. I want to play, I know I can be out on the pitch, I’ve proved that.”
Before adding: “I will really choose the best option. If it’s to stay at Chelsea, if it happens to Napoli or another team.”

    Davide Zappacosta – £7m
The Italian right-back has spent the last two seasons on loan at Roma and Genoa respectively.
And it has been claimed that he is nearing another exit away from Chelsea with Serie A clubs keen to sign him.
He impressed at Genoa last term, where he chipped in with four goals and two assists from his 25 outings.

    Danny Drinkwater – £3m
The 31-year-old was signed for a whopping £35million from Leicester in 2017, but he has been limited to just 23 games in all competitions.
His last appearance came in the 2018 Community Shield defeat against Manchester City.
And after failed loan spells as Burnley, Villa and Turkish outfit Kasimpasa, it remains to be seen if he will finally depart Chelsea on a permanent deal.

Abraham, 23, had been at Chelsea since he was seven.
And although he played frequently under Frank Lampard, it soon became apparent Thomas Tuchel was not a fan as his game time plummeted.
But the forward is looking forward to making an impact in Italy at a club that ‘really wants’ him.
He said: “You can sense when a club really wants you – and Roma made their interest clear immediately. Roma is a club that deserves to be fighting for titles and trophies.
“I’ve had the experience of winning major trophies and I want to be in those competitions again – so I want to help this team to achieve that and get to the level where Roma should be.
“It’s a massive honour to be the number nine at this club and I just can’t wait to get started and to help the team.”

The Blues said: “Tammy Abraham has today left Chelsea to join AS Roma in a permanent transfer, ending his long association with the Blues after coming through the ranks in our academy to represent our men’s first team.
“In total, Abraham scored 30 goals in 82 appearances for the club at senior level, primarily over the last two seasons, and was part of the squad which triumphed in the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup this year.
“Everyone at Chelsea thanks Tammy for his contribution at Stamford Bridge and wishes him the very best for the future.”
Abraham will wear the No 9 shirt in Rome.
He flew into Rome to finalise the deal on Saturday.
The England international is believed to have signed a five-year contract worth £80,000-a-week – the same as he was on at Chelsea.
    ‘ONE OF OUR OWN’
And it is understood Chelsea have inserted a £68m buy-back clause into the deal – which can be triggered in two years time.
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said: “Tammy will always be welcomed back at Stamford Bridge as one of our own.
“We have all enjoyed watching his progress through our academy and into the first-team squad, and are grateful for his contribution to our successes at senior and youth level.
“His many goals in a Chelsea shirt and, of course, his part in our Champions League triumph last season will never be forgotten.
“I’m sure all Chelsea supporters will join me in wishing Tammy a long and successful career.”
As they have done in the past, the Serie A side used Abraham’s announcement video to promote a missing persons charity.

They tweeted: “Welcome to #ASRoma, @tammyabraham!
“We are proud to support @ICMEC_official and other organisations around the world who are working tirelessly to bring missing children home.”
The ICMEC is the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children and Roma’s tweet combined footage of Abraham arriving in Rome with a montage of missing people from across the globe.

Aubameyang, 32, and Lacazette, 30, were both sidelined in Arsenal’s opening day 2-0 defeat away to Premier League newcomers Brentford.
They were both ill, and according to The Times, they might not recover in time to return to training for Chelsea’s visit.
It is also claimed Arsenal were open to selling the duo, despite captain Aubameyang only signing a three-year deal, worth a reported £350,000-a-week, last year.
But Frenchman Lacazette is now in the final year of his Emirates deal, and able to negotiate a free transfer away in January.
Arsenal had registered an interest in Abraham, 23, who Chelsea allowed to leave after re-signing Romelu Lukaku, 28, for £97.5million.
But the England striker has instead moved closer to a £34m switch to Roma, who are managed by former Blues boss Jose Mourinho.

As a result, it leaves Arsenal unlikely to sell Aubameyang and Lacazette with no replacements being identified.
They were linked with a move for Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez, 23, who is now expected to stay in Italy after Lukaku’s departure.
Eddie Nketiah, 22, is also out with an ankle knock until next month meaning Arteta turned to Folarin Balogun, 20, against Brentford.
But the ex-Gunners youth star failed to make an impact. Gabriel Martinelli, 20, is another option who could be moved from out wide to a central role.
