CHELSEA defender Antonio Rudiger has confirmed he will leave the club this summer following months of speculation over his future. He told Players Tribune: “Chelsea will always be in my heart. London will always be my home.
“I came here alone, and now I have a wife and two beautiful kids. I also have a new brother for life named Kova.
“I have an FA Cup, a Europa League and a Champions League medal. And of course, I have hundreds of memories that will stay with me forever.”
Meanwhile, the Blues will be looking to replace the German and have lined up Sevilla’s Jules Kounde as a replacement.
The Frenchman was linked with a move to Chelsea last summer but it now seems like Thomas Tuchel could get his man.

    Gilmour returning from Norwich
Relegated Norwich are offloading eight out-of-contract players plus their four loanees – including Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour and Manchester United full-back Brandon Williams.
German midfield star Lukas Rapp helped the Canaries to promotion in 2020-21 but departs along with Josip Drmić, Josh Giurgi, Aston Oxborough, Nelson Khumbeni, Reece McAlear, Solomon Alidor-Hamilton and Olatunde Okeowo.
Scotland ace Gilmour, former England Under-21 defender Williams, Schalke’s Ozan Kabak and Mathias Normann from Russian side Rostov will return to their parent clubs after Saturday’s Prem finale at home to Spurs.
He wants to Cesar his chance to leave
Thomas Tuchel has spoken on why Cesar Azpilicueta wants to leave Chelsea.
He said: “We had a lot of these talks because very genuinely it felt like he won everything after the Club World Cup, then suddenly given his personal situation I can understand these thoughts that maybe a cycle is at its end.
“Then it is a change of ownership and he played only under this owner in this structure so it maybe increased even his second thoughts about his situation.
“But then his extension kicked in at the same time.”
    Kepa set for showdown talks
Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he’ll meet Kepa Arrizabalaga for talks over the keeper’s future.
Spaniard Kepa knows Edouard Mendy is firmly implanted as the Blues’ No1.
And although Kepa’s attitude has been praised by Chelsea chiefs, it appears he accepts he might need to move.
    Paul-no to Prem move
Soon-to-be free agent Paulo Dybala has reportedly ruled out a move to England as he closes in on a transfer to Inter Milan, writes Joshua Mbu.
Dybala is set to depart Juventus after spending seven years of his club career there.
The Argentine is attracting interest from a host of Europe’s top clubs, with the likes of Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Roma all interested.
Manchester United and Tottenham, who have both been long-term admirers of the forward are also keen on exploring a possible deal.
Christensen pulled out of games ‘a few times’, says Morris
Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen pulled out of games while Frank Lampard was manager, former assistant coach Jody Morris has revealed.
Speaking to Stadium Astro, he said: “To be fair we experienced that [pulling out of matches] ourselves when we were here working with Andreas.
“You never know what some players are going through. Whether it be nerves, whether it be something off the pitch.
“We experienced it a few times with Andreas but I don’t think he’s the only player who experienced it.
“He’s probably more honest about that sort of side of it.”
Christensen will leave Chelsea at the end of the season when his contract expires and is expected to join Barcelona on a free transfer.
Chelsea ratings vs Leicester – attack
    Romelu Lukaku – 7/10
Had a first-half opportunity but took far too long to shoot when played in on goal behind the defence – much to the frustration of Tuchel.
Good hold up play throughout and was a presence up-front but missed the target with a free header following an expert Ziyech cross.
Chelsea ratings vs Leicester – attack
    Hakim Ziyech – 7/10
Had an early shot that whistled just past the post and was Chelsea’s main attacking threat throughout.
Was the most energetic of the bunch after missing the FA Cup final but his final ball let him down, as did his finishing.
    Christian Pulisic – 5/10
Struggled to get into the game after playing 106 minutes in the cup final on Saturday.
Tried to get onto the ball by playing more centrally in the second half, and it almost paid off when he met Romelu Lukaku’s low cross, yet somehow failed to score from seven yards out.
Chelsea ratings vs Leicester – midfield
    N’Golo Kante – 4/10
He was caught on the ball on a number of occasions and looked a little fatigued throughout – a long season catching up with him.
Was rightly substituted in the second half for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who arguably should have started instead given Leicester looked to play on the counter attack.
    Jorginho – 6/10
Chelsea dominated possession from start to finish and everything went through the Italian, though he did frustrate the crowd by opting for the safer pass too often.
Needed to find that penetrating pass with Leicester sitting so deep but it did not come.
Chelsea ratings vs Leicester – defence
    Thiago Silva – 5/10
Will not be happy with his defending for the goal as he was far too slow to stop Maddison, who took the ball round the Brazilian before firing in.
Had a great chance to atone on the half-hour mark but headed James’ cross over when in acres of space.
    Antonio Rudiger – 6/10
Will feel he could have done better with the goal but he was unfortunate that his block landed in the path of Maddison, who was clinical.
He kept Vardy quiet however to ensure he will end his Chelsea career on a high.
    Marcos Alonso – 7/10
Caught out for Leicester’s goal by a long ball from goalkeeper Schmeichel.
Redeemed himself by smashing in an equaliser in the 34th minute, catching James’ chip sweetly on the volley.
Chelsea ratings vs Leicester – defence
    Reece James – 8/10
Created Chelsea’s equaliser with a great vision and a delightful chip for Marcos Alonso to fire in.
Was as solid as ever in defence too but did not offer enough going forward – even when he was played higher up the pitch after N’Golo Kante went off.
    Trevoh Chalobah – 7/10
Almost levelled the match shortly after the Foxes goal with a long-range screamer that Schmeichel tipped over brilliantly.
Tidy in possession and untroubled by either Jamie Vardy or Kelechi Iheanacho – could be a regular starter next season if he continues to improve.
    Chelsea ratings vs Leicester
Chelsea failed to lift their FA Cup final hangover despite the best efforts of Reece James and Hakim Ziyech in a 1-1 draw with Leicester.
The Blues defence was caught out in the sixth minute with several players at fault as James Maddison smashed in from outside the box.
But Thomas Tuchel’s side bossed proceedings from then on, enjoying 70 per cent possession.
Marcos Alonso grabbed the equaliser but despite peppering Kasper Schmeichel’s goal in the second half Chelsea were unable to find a winner.

Here is how SunSport’s Kealan Hughes rated the Chelsea display in their penultimate match of the season.
    Edouard Mendy – 5/10
Goal came at his near post but Maddison’s powerful finish was a thing of beauty.
Other than that he had very little to do with Brendan Rodger’s side not offering much in attack.
    Tuchel opens up on Azpilicueta
Thomas Tuchel has spoken on why Cesar Azpilicueta wants to leave Chelsea.
He said: “We had a lot of these talks because very genuinely it felt like he won everything after the Club World Cup, then suddenly given his personal situation I can understand these thoughts that maybe a cycle is at its end.
“Then it is a change of ownership and he played only under this owner in this structure so it maybe increased even his second thoughts about his situation.
“But then his extension kicked in at the same time.”
You can see me – Cena at Stamford Bridge with Boehly
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly was seen at Stamford Bridge alongside WWE legend John Cena last night
The American is in London checking out his new investment as they round off another busy season.
Boehly was left baffled earlier this month as he saw Chelsea have a goal disallowed in their 2-2 draw with Wolves.
Last night, flanked by Cena, he saw his new team share the spoils following a hard fought 1-1 draw against Leicester.
James Maddison opened the scoring for the visitors after just six minutes, before Marcos Alonso levelled half an hour later.
The point sealed third position with a game to spare, with Tottenham three points behind and requiring an 18-goal swing.

Rudiger says goodbye to the Blues
Antonio Rudiger has posted an emotional goodbye message to Chelsea fans as he prepares to leave the club this summer, writes Dylan Terry.
The 28-year-old German defender looks set to join Real Madrid at the end of the season after Thomas Tuchel confirmed the Blues could not agree a new deal.
And Rudiger, who has been one of Chelsea’s key players over the last 12 months, has now published a final farewell letter to the club’s supporters in which he gushes about team-mate N’Golo Kante.
He insists that everything with the French star is “authentic” and that he is “so polite that he just tells you what you want to hear”.
Rudiger also opened up about returning to the fold after being left on the sidelines for much of Frank Lampard’s time in charge.
He is incredibly grateful for Tuchel giving him a second chance and says that playing in the Champions League final last season was  the “pineapple on top of the cake”.
Kounde transfer plans ‘in place’, say reports
Chelsea have “put in place” plans to sign Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde after reaching a verbal agreement, according to reports.
The Blues are set to lose Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen for FREE this summer to Real Madrid and Barcelona.
And according to Goal, Chelsea have put plans in place to sign long-term target Kounde from Sevilla as soon as Todd Boehly’s takeover is completed and sanctions end.
The 23-year-old has a verbal agreement in place for a move this summer and wants a move to Stamford Bridge after talks collapsed last summer.

Sevilla are also said to be keen to do a deal as early as possible to allow them to sign a replacement.
The LaLiga outfit want a fee or around £59million for the France international, who can play both centrally and at right-back.
    Pulisic ‘unhappy’ at Chelsea
Christian Pulisic is reportedly unhappy with his situation at Chelsea.
And his discontentment with the Blues is starting to become a problem, according to the Mail+.
The news comes after Pulisic’s dad came out to criticise Chelsea’s treatment of his son.
Pulisic had the golden opportunity to be the match-winner last night, but he couldn’t convert from close range.
It won’t effect the table, but he might rue his chance.

And the 29-year-old could be lining-up alongside Jorginho when he returns to Turin next term.
Todd Boehly’s consortium hope to complete their takeover of Chelsea by the end of the month, which will finally allow them to get back in the game transfer wise.
However, a big-name departure could be the first topic of conversation, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
They state that Juventus have made Italy international midfielder Jorginho, 30, one of their top targets and have now begun their attempt to get him.

Speaking ahead of tonight’s game with Leicester, the German said: “I’m not sure yet if he will be involved either tomorrow or at the weekend.
“Andreas came to me [on Saturday morning] to tell me that he’s not ready to play, start or to be on the bench.
“He had his reasons, and they will stay private and confidential – but it was not the first time.”
Tuchel was quick to point out, however, that Christensen’s absence was not because the defender did not want to play, and reiterated that the Dane has the support of the club.

    Government agree to Chelsea deal
On Wednesday a deal was finally agreed between Roman Abramovich and the UK Government over the sale of Chelsea that will green light Todd Boehly’s takeover of the football club.
The PA News Agency report that the two parties are said to have found a ‘legal resolution’ as to how to handle the £1.5billion debt the Stamford Bridge club owe to the outgoing Russian owner.
Abramovich had previously indicated his willingness to write off the loan, but Downing Street officials had expressed concerns that the 55-year-old would later renege on that promise.

Question marks remain over midfielder Mateo Kovacic, as well as defender Andreas Christensen and attacker Kai Havertz.
Christensen was missing from Chelsea’s squad for the final against Liverpool.
Blues boss Tuchel admitted that it is a situation that has occurred multiple times in recent weeks but has refused to give details on conversations with the soon-to-be out of contract star.
    Munich 10 years on
It was the most famous night in Chelsea’s history, when Didier Drogba stroked home the winning spot kick in the Champions League final.
In 2012, the Blues beat Bayern Munich on penalties despite being dominated by the Germans over 120 minutes.
Against all the odds they lifted the trophy after beating Bayern in their own backyard following a 1-1 draw after extra time.

    Chelsea Team news
Thomas Tuchel revealed that Timo Werner’s absence from the FA Cup final was due to a minor knock that he felt in the warm-up which makes the German a doubt for the Leicester encounter.
Werner’s fellow countryman Kai Havertz was another squad player unavailable as his hamstring injury continues to cause him a concern going forward.
Thiago Silva has also become a doubt having battled through 75 minutes of pain in the clash at Wembley with a minor injury.
As for Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi, they remain out for the foreseeable future.
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers’ has no further injury concerns ahead of Leicester’s trip to Stamford Bridge.

However, the Chelsea head coach will now be more concerned on securing Champions League qualification for next season.
Which his men can do should they earn all three points over a Leicester side who recently hit five against Watford.

Tuchel said: “They will come back for sure. I want to have them in pre-season.
“We will decide in pre-season what goes on. It is heavily up to Broja and Gallagher – and how they do.”

The PA News Agency report that the two parties are said to have found a ‘legal resolution’ as to how to handle the £1.5billion debt the Stamford Bridge club owe to the outgoing Russian owner.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja will return to Chelsea next season.

Talks between Alonso and Barca are at an advanced stage, SPORT claim.
The report adds that the left-back has agreed a three-year deal to join the Catalan giants this summer.
Finally, Tuchel has blamed Chelsea’s indifferent season on coronavirus, the Russia/Ukraine war and the ensuing sanctions on the club.
He moaned: “We struggled with coronavirus, long-term injuries, a war that had a big effect on our club in particular.
“There’s always room for improvement but we arrived in this [FA Cup] with key players out, Mateo and N’Golo with only half a training session.
“With the club sanctions, there are a lot of things that are impressive.”
    Mount makes Havertz admission
Mason Mount has revealed when he first met Kai Havertz whilst on international duty.
Mount said: “It was my first game on TV, playing against Germany, so it was a massive game for us at Rotherham’s stadium.
“I can’t remember the final score, but I did score a goal in the game and that’s what I remember – it wasn’t too bad a goal.
“Kai Havertz, my team-mate at the moment, is actually in the video.
“Not many people know this, but he is the one that grabs my face. I’ve spoken to him about it at training and we had a good laugh about it.”
    Tuchel’s third spot hopes
But despite Chelsea’s difficulties, Tuchel still remains confident that the club can sealthird spot in the Premier League.
He added: “Hopefully, we can come third and that is progression. We maybe compete against the best teams to play in this league. So from there we go.
“There is no need to lose sleep and think we should’ve done this and this. There is a lot of ambition in us that we are not satisfied with.”

“With the club sanctions, there are a lot of things that are impressive.
    Tuchel on cup final losses
Thomas Tuchel refuses to let Chelsea’s season be defined by the two cup final losses to Liverpool.
The Blues lost the FA and Carabao Cup finals to the Reds.
But Tuchel declared: “I refuse to judge the season by two penalty shootouts.
“If we won both, it would be one of the most successful seasons with four titles.
“We lost two but it doesn’t make it less impressive what the team put in.
“But we’re the first to admit that it’s not the same to play a final and win a final.”
Rudiger will play last Chelsea games
Antonio Rudiger will play in Chelsea’s last two matches despite his exit to Real Madrid this summer.
Rudiger turned down a contract extension to join Madrid on a free transfer.

Tuchel said: “Toni would deserve to play, there is no need to not give him the last matches because he was huge for us and influential.”
    Chelsea recieve praise
Chelsea are the best team Leicester City have played this season, Brendan Rodgers has revealed.
The Blues take on the Foxes in the final game of the season.
And Rodgers admitted it will be a difficult game for his side as Chelsea provided the toughest challenge during the current campaign.
Rodgers said: “I would go as far as to say they [Chelsea] are the best team we have played this season. When we played them early on in the season, they were at the top of their game. I thought they were outstanding.
“Not long after that moment, they lost some players. I’ve said it before, even with squads like Chelsea’s, you need your top players available.”

    Azplicueta to discuss future today
Cesar Azpilcueta is reportedly having showdown talks over his Chelsea future with Thomas Tuchel TODAY.
The Blues defender wants to clarify what his position will be at the club next season if he stays, according to Marca.
He also would like to sit down with the Blues’ new owner Todd Boehly to hear the American’s vision for the club going forward, the report also states.
Another issue on the table will be to clear up the confusion over a clause in Azplicueta’s contract that states he will be handed a year extension if he makes 30 appearances this season.
The report adds that the defender is unsure whether the clause applies to the current campaign or to the upcoming one.
    Lokonga will come good
Arsenal star Albert Sambi Lokonga will come good in the Premier League like Belgian counterparts Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian pair both took a while to adapt to the Prem, but are now two of the league’s biggest stars.
And it will be the same for Lokonga, his brother Paul-José M’Poku claims.
He told RTBF: “Other players like Kevin De Bruyne or Romelu Lukaku have also taken time to establish themselves in the English Premier League.
“The difference with the Belgian league is big, and Arsenal is not a mid-table club.”

One of those will be World Cup-winner Kante, whose season has been disrupted by injuries.
And speaking to Sky Sports, the French midfielder has brushed off talk of his long-term future.
He said: “The only thing that is sure is that I have one more year on my contract. It’s not really my concern.
“The only thing [on my mind] is to finish the season well.

“I’ll think about it at the right time but I just want to finish the season as best as possible.”
The Blues will already lose Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
And his centre-half partner Andreas Christensen will also leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Club captain Cesar Azpilicueta may also still leave despite Chelsea having a clause in the Spaniard’s contract enabling them to trigger a 12-month extension.

In particular midfield pair Kante and Jorginho are about to enter the final year of their contracts.
Italy international Jorginho especially has voiced a desire to return to his homeland before retiring and team-mates fear he may go this summer to add to the domino effect in the dressing room.
Next season England midfielder Mason Mount will be entering the final two years of a contract signed in 2019.
There have been no talks over a new one yet and it is going to be a lengthy process coming up with a deal that reflects his growing importance within the camp.
Insiders at Stamford Bridge believe the festering uncertainty among the playing staff is behind the team’s unconvincing displays in recent games. More

The report states that their sporting director Cherubini has arrived in London and “will hold talks with representatives of Chelsea in the coming days” in order to “discuss the possibility of doing a deal once sanctions have been lifted” have been lifted on the Blues.
And they claim that the Stamford Bridge club have not rebuffed the transfer talks, suggesting they could be open to selling.
Jorginho only has a year remaining on his contract and Chelsea will be desperate not to lose another star for nothing following Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen’s departures.
Juve are yet to agree a fee with Chelsea for Jorginho, but Gazzetta say discussions with the player over personal terms “reached an advanced stage” already.

Juventus have reportedly offered Pogba £120,000-a-week wages to rejoin them this summer, although some sources say the ace wants more.
The midfielder spent four years in Turin between 2012 and 2016, winning four titles and two Italian Cups.
And fallen giants Juve, guaranteed to finish fourth on Saturday, want Pogba 2.0 to resurrect their Serie A ambitions next term. More

Chelsea ‘set to complete Kounde transfer as soon as takeover done’, Christensen has pulled out of squad before – Tuchel

CHELSEA are reportedly ready to complete the signing of Jules Kounde as soon as Todd Boehly’s takeover of the club is complete. The Blues want to push the deal through as quickly as possible with the departures of Toni Rudiger and Andreas Christensen imminent.
In contrast to lasts summer when they upped the asking price at the last minute, Sevilla are also said to want a quick deal so they can focus on signing a replacement.
Meanwhile Thomas Tuchel has questions the attitude of outgoing Christensen as he revealed the Dane has withdrawn from Chelsea matchday squads on multiple occasions, as he did in the FA Cup final at the weekend.

    Christensen’s not wanted to play
But it’s not the first time that Christensen has opted not to play, Tuchel revealed.
The defender also refused to play at some point in the past few weeks, Tuchel claimed.
He added: “But it was not the first time, as you can see over the last weeks that we had some of the same situations where he could not play so regularly.”
    Christensen’s absence in final explained
Thomas Tuchel has lifted the lid on Andreas Christensen’s absence in the FA Cup final.
He said: “Andreas came in the morning of the match to speak to me and tell me he was not ready to play the match, start the match, or be on the bench.
“He had his reasons; they stay private and confidential.”
    Blues pair set for return
Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja will return to Chelsea next season.
Broja has been on loan with Southampon, and Gallagher with Crystal Palace.
But Tuchel insists the pair will be part of the Blues squad next season as better players.
He said: “They will come back for sure.
“When you give them on loan you give them to get better and more experienced players back.”
    De Jong given career advice
Frenkie de Jong should stay at Barcelona and snub Man United in order to play with Chelsea star Andreas Christensen at the Nou Camp.
Christensen’s reportedly on the verge of joining Barca, and Steve McManaman reckons De Jong is better off staying put to rub shoulders with the defender.
McManaman explained to HorseRacing.net: “For him to go to Manchester United then I think they’d have to pay him more than he’s earning at Barcelona.
“Which I think will be a really hard thing to do considering that he went to Barcelona for a huge amount of money.
“You’d rather stay at Barcelona in the Champions League with Xavi trying to change things around.
“Players like [Andreas] Christensen and [Robert] Lewandowski potentially coming in makes that a more exciting challenge in my opinion.”
    Tuchel unsure of Christensen involvement
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is unsure as to whether Andreas Christensen will play for the club again after he withdrew from the squad on the morning of the FA Cup final.
Speaking ahead of Thursday’s game with Leicester, the German said: “I’m not sure yet if he will be involved either tomorrow or at the weekend.

    Tuchel dismisses Loftus-Cheek discussion
Thomas Tuchel has reacted with confusion at the suggestion he should have spoken to Ruben Loftus-Cheek in detail following his substitution in Saturday’s FA Cup final.
The midfielder was brought on in extra-time at Wembley, only to be replaced 14 minutes later by Ross Barkley.
Quizzed on his decision at this afternoon’s press conference, the Chelsea manager appeared surprised that the subject was even brought up.
Asked if he had sat down with the player since, Tuchel replied: “No, why?
“This was a ten second conversation on the pitch, and half a minute after the match. It was a penalty decision.”
Boehly will begin with crown Jules
Todd Boehly will make Sevilla’s Jules Kounde his first purchase after completing his takeover at Chelsea.
A deal for the French defender – equally comfortable at right-back or centre-half – is expected to cost the Blues in the region of £60million, and will go through as soon as the club’s takeover is completed and its sanctions are lifted, according to Goal.
The 23-year-old has been a long-term target of the London club, and will be a statement of intent from new owner Boehly, who has indicted that significant funds will be available.
Thomas Tuchel is in desperate need of defensive reinforcements after it became apparent that both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are intending to leave the club for Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
There are also doubts over the futures of Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso with the Spanish pair also linked with a return to their homeland.

    Kante would improve United midfield
N’Golo Kante is guaranteed to improve the Manchester United midfield if the Red Devils are able to tempt the 31-year-old to Old Trafford this summer.
United have been heavily linked with the Frenchman over the past few days, and Paul Parker believes the deal would be a no-brainer should it present itself.
The former England international believes that Kante could fulfil the role that current United midfielders struggle with.
In conversation with indiabetting.co.in, Parker said of Kante: “He will improve Manchester United’s midfield a hundred per cent because he can go and get the ball off of players without always fouling them.
“He doesn’t go around looking to hurt people and when he does get the ball, he keeps the ball.”
Breaking: Government agree to Chelsea deal
A deal has finally been agreed between Roman Abramovich and the UK Government over the sale of Chelsea that will green light Todd Boehly’s takeover of the football club.
The Premier League are now required to sign off on any sale of one of their clubs.
    Welcome Maat: Dortmund want defender
Borussia Dortmund are preparing to make an offer for young Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen, according to BILD.
The Bundesliga club want to bring the 20-year-old Dutchman in on loan initially with a view to a permanent move if he impresses at Signal Iduna Park.
Maatsen has spent a successful year on loan at Coventry, making 40 appearances as the Sky Blues registered their highest league finish in 16 years.

    Boehly to make statement signing
Incoming Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is planning to make a statement signing on taking over at Stamford Bridge – and is targeting both Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele.
The high-profile pair have been linked with moves away from Bayern Munich and Barcelona respectively, and the prospective Blues chief wants at least one to head up Thomas Tuchel’s new-look attack.
Dembele is available on a free transfer following the end of his contract at the Nou Camp while Lewandowski only has a final year to run on his Bayern deal.
However, both players would require significant wages, and so it is thought that at least one high-earning first teamer would have to be moved on from the Bridge before any such swoop could be completed.
    Good morning Chelsea fans
Chelsea’s £4.25billion takeover is now set to be confirmed by the Government THIS WEEK.
And directors Marina Granovskaia and Bruce Buck are among club executives who will share a £50million bonus from new owner Todd Boehly.
On Monday, Government sources suggested Roman Abramovich’s demands could see the Blues takeover “fall apart”.
The contentious issue was how the £1.6bn owed Chelsea to the Russian would be moved into a new account to fund the planned charitable foundation.
But after days of wrangling involving club and government lawyers, the trustees of Jersey-based Camberley International Investments were given indemnity from any legal action.
That clears the way for the initial £2.5bn payment from the Boehly consortium to be paid into a Government-controlled holding account before being transferred to the foundation – once Treasury officials confirm no money will end up in Abramovich’s pocket.
Elsewhere, Cesar Azplicueta is yet to decide his Chelsea future despite reports claiming he’s agreed to join Barcelona.
The defender is reportedly set to meet with the Blues’ hierarchy over his upcoming career plans in the next few hours.
And he’s said to be intent on liaising with the club’s new owners and Thomas Tuchel as he doesn’t want to leave Stamford Bridge on bad terms, according to Sports Witness.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are eyeing up Eintracht Frankfurt teenager Luka Hyrylainen.
The Finland Under-19 defensive midfielder, 17, is being watched by a number of top European clubs.
But Chelsea are hoping to pounce once he turns 18 in August and the sale of the Blues is completed and their transfer ban lifted.
Hyrylainen has one year left on his contract with Germany’s Europa League finalists.
Finally, N’Golo Kante has opened up about his Chelsea future.
But he refused to reveal where he’ll be playing next season as he’s only focused on the current campaign with the Blues.
Kante told Sky Sports: “The only thing is sure that I have one more year and the only thing is to finish this season.
“I’ll think about it in the right time.”

    Mason Mount tipped for comeback
Mason Mount has been backed to bounce back from his penalty miss against Liverpool.
Mount’s miss handed Liverpool the FA Cup after a tense penalty shootout.
But Reds ace Jordan Henderson reckons his England pal will be scoring pens again in no time.
Henderson said: “He’s got the world at his feet, and I am sure he will bounce back. When he gets the opportunity again, he’ll step up and put the ball in the back of the net.”

    Chelsea track AC Milan defender
Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli on a free transfer this summer.
Romagnoli’s contract expires with the Serie A giants when the season ends, and the Blues are eyeing up a swoop for the defender, according to Mundo Deportivo.
However, Bayern Munich and Sevilla are also tracking Romagnoli, the report adds.
    Azplicueta to discuss Chelsea future
Cesar Azplicueta is yet to decide his Chelsea future despite reports claiming he’s agreed to join Barcelona.
    Chelsea eye Frankfurt teen star
Chelsea are eyeing up Eintracht Frankfurt teenager Luka Hyrylainen, CLIFF HAYES WRITES.
    Chelsea remain confident over deal
Chelsea remain confident the takeover deal with Todd Boehly WILL be cleared – despite Government suggestions the club’s future is under threat, MARTIN LIPTON WRITES.
Their positive stance was intensified as the man charged by Roman Abramovich with heading the proposed foundation, former Unicef chief Mike Penrose, write his own letter to ministers vowing the Russian could not benefit from the deal.
Penrose said: “No one who has any association with Roman Abramovich would be employed to do anything.
“No one could receive any financial benefit from this at all.
“I’ve never met him. I’ve never spoken to him.
“The club reached out to me to do this, so I have created this independently on my own initiative.
“All I’ve ever done is referred back and the only commentary I’ve ever had back from Chelsea or from others is that this looks like exactly what we want.”
    Conor Gallagher’s future discussed
Conor Gallagher will be better off on loan for another season to grow as he wouldn’t get into Chelsea’s current side.
That’s the view of football pundit Glen Johnson.
He told Football London: “Right now, I’m not sure if Conor Gallagher would get in Chelsea’s team.
“As he’s been doing so well out on loan to Palace, if I was Chelsea, I’d be keen to give him another year on loan.
“That would give him another year to develop further, enjoy the games, learn the trade and then start smashing the first team door down the season after, but a lot can change in football.”
    Liverpool linked with Kante
Liverpool have been urged to sign Chelsea ace N’Golo Kante by Rio Ferdinand.
Ferdinand said when speaking on Liverpool’s needs: “That’s where they need a Kante.
“A fit Kante and he’s given the license to get on and jump out of a defensive block, he’s the one player who could cause them problems.”
    United fans beg for Nkunku
Man United fans have begged the Red Devils to sign RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku after he was named Bundesliga’s Player of the Season.
Nkunku’s impact has wowed United’s faithful who flocked to Twitter to voice their desire for him to be in a Red Devils shirt next season.
One fan reckoned Nkunku’s switch to United is a foregone conclusion and wrote: “United player soon.”
United have had an indifferent season and currently languish in sixth spot in the Premier League with just one game left to play.
And one supporter who believes Nkunku will provide a solution to the club’s problems next season, added: “@ManUtd here is our man.”
While a third Red Devils loyalist chipped in: “Think he’d be perfect for us.”
Chelsea have also been linked with the midfield maestro.
    Chelsea face Lewandowski Barca blow
Chelsea target Robert Lewandowski is reportedly desperate to join Barcelona.
And he is even willing to take a £100,000-a-week wage cut to make his dream move come true.
Chelsea and PSG are both thought to have joined the race for the wantaway Bayern Munich striker.
But Mundo Deportivo claims Lewandowski only wants Barcelona and is ready to do whatever it takes to get a move.
    Hurst reveals Rice price tag
West Ham legend Sir Geoff Hurst has urged the club to accept bids of £100million for Chelsea and Man Utd target Declan Rice.
He told TalkSport: “I’m hopeful [he will stay] but not necessarily confident. It is a big issue for a young player with his outstanding talent at a club not in the top four or five.
“They’ve offered him a big contract and I’d like to see him at the club and stay. He’s absolutely brilliant, a decent lad and fantastic player and still to improve.
“[But] If you were to get £100million plus, which is a possibility, then you could strengthen the club with three or four players in different positions.”
    Barca close in on duo
Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta are set to join Barcelona this summer.
Fabrizio Romano claims a deal to sign Alonso is almost complete.
And Barca are confident of also landing Azpi after offering him a two-year deal.
The veteran Spaniards would link up with Andreas Christensen at the Nou Camp, with the Dane joining on a free transfer.

takeover ‘CONFIRMED’, Blues held Haaland, Kane and Lewandowski talks
They were unable to earn any commercial revenue or make any moves in the transfer market after Abramovich had his UK assets, including Chelsea FC, frozen.
However, after the UK government handed jurisdiction of the takeover process to Raine Group, a vigorous process has gone underway to determine the new owner of The Blues.
With intense interest from a number of parties including the Ricketts Family, Sir Marin Broughton and Sir Lewis Hamilton, and Stephen Pagliuca, the new owner looks set to be Todd Boehly.
Boehly is set to be cleared to but the club for a colossal fee of £4bn, with £2.5bn of this to be paid up front and another £1.75bn to be invested over the next decade by the LA Dodgers owner.

Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta are set to join Barcelona this summer.
Fabrizio Romano claims a deal to sign Alonso is almost complete.

The veteran Spaniards would link up with Andreas Christensen at the Nou Camp, with the Dane joining on a free transfer.

Marina Granovskaia future “has not been decided.”

And more talks are expected this week to discuss her working role at Stamford Bridge.
    United urged to sign Ziyech
Dutch legend Marco van Basten has urged Erik ten Hag to sign Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech for Man United.
Ziyech and Ten Hag worked together at Ajax, with the Moroccan a key player in his XI.
And with the playmaker struggling for minutes at Chelsea, Van Basten believes a reunion should be on the cards.
He said: “What comes to my mind now is that I think Ziyech who already plays in England could be a very good footballer at Manchester United for Erik.”
    Azpi sorry for penalty miss
Cesar Azpilicueta has apologised to Chelsea fans for his penalty miss in the FA Cup final defeat to Liverpool.

Azpilicueta tweeted: “I wish I could write to you after having added another trophy for our club last Saturday, but unfortunately it was not possible.
“I felt confident to take on the responsibility in the penalty shootout and I didn’t succeed. At the highest level, inches can mean the difference…”
    Prem Teams of the Year
Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have revealed their Premier League Teams of the Year.
Unsurprisingly, the XIs are dominated by Man City and Liverpool players.
But there isn’t one single Chelsea player in the entire side.
Did Mason Mount or Thiago Silva deserve a look-in?

    Lampard at fault for Rudiger
Paul Merson believes Frank Lampard is to blame for Antonio Rudiger’s Chelsea exit.
He declared: “Losing Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid is going to break Chelsea’s heart – but his mind was made up 18 months ago with the way he was treated by Frank Lampard.
“He got completely binned out the team by Lampard and I think that left a lasting effect on Rudiger. That’s when he decided that he’s not signing a new contract.
“Now Chelsea are letting a £70m-80m defender go on a free transfer and they’re going to bring someone in for £70m in that will be nowhere as good as Rudiger.”
    James tipped for England spot
Gary Neville is backing Reece James to be England’s No1 right-back at the Qatar World Cup.
He said: “I think Reece James could be the best out of them all.
“I have concerns over his fitness and I would want to make sure he kept fit for a season or two, but he could be the best out of all of them if he continues to go forward.”
Pal Jamie Carragher added: “He could be a mix of Kyle Walker and Trent. He’s a great crosser of the ball, Reece James.”
    Lukaku not Chelsea’s first choice
Chelsea held talks with THREE other strikers before signing Romelu Lukaku last summer.
Goal claims the Blues attempted to sign Spurs’ Harry Kane, Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.
However, the newly-crowned European champions were unsuccessful on all three fronts.
And that saw them eventually pay a club-record £97.5million for Inter Milan’s Lukaku.
    Blues secure top four finish
Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat at Newcastle saw Chelsea finally book their place in next season’s Champions League.
Blues fans faced a nervy wait after winning just three of their last eight league games.
Chelsea could yet end up finishing fourth if they lose their last two games and Spurs win on the final day.
But the north Londoners only need a point against Norwich to confirm their top four return ahead of Arsenal.

    Prem teams eye Monaco’s Badiashile
Monaco star Benoit Badiashile says he has had ‘contact’ with Prem clubs amid speculation of a summer move.
Badiashile said: “We all know the competitiveness of the Premier League, it is a fantastic league that of course, is very interesting and we all love the games.
“I had the chance to play in the Champions League with Monaco and I think this club deserves this competition, it’s a club that’s used to playing in this competition and we want to get back on track.
“Right now, I’m really happy with Monaco. I had some contact in the past with some [English] clubs but I’m fully focused on the end of the season and Monaco and I feel good.”
    Good morning Chelsea fans
Chelsea departing owner Roman Abramovich has been accused of blocking the final sale of the club and putting its future at risk.
In a remarkable cranking up of pressure, sources close to the UK Government have turned their fire on Abramovich over the proposed sale condition.
Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly and his consortium were hopeful of completing a £2.6billion takeover with a promise to spend a further £1.65bn on the stadium, academy and team-building by the end of this week.
But the ongoing spat between the Blues and the DCMS over the final structure of the agreement has now broken out into a serious issue.
A UK Government insider expressed “considerable alarm” at the flare-up, suggesting the very viability of the West Londoners could be at threat.
The source said: “There’s quite serious concern in government that the deal may fall apart and that Roman Abramovich is ultimately willing to let Chelsea go under.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed Andreas Christensen will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Tuchel is adamant he will be without Christensen next season as he stated: “We’re losing him.”
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the centre-back agreed a deal with Barcelona weeks ago.
The German head coach confirmed the news while revealing the Denmark international refused to play in the FA Cup Final loss against Liverpool at Wembley.
And Chelsea are targeting Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski, who looks set to leave the German champions.
That is according to The Guardian’s Jacob Steinburg, who is reporting that the Blues do hold an interest in Lewandowski ahead of the summer transfer window.
Steinburg says that Tuchel “loves” the star striker, although Boehly’s consortium will first have to take over from Abramovich who is sanctioned and thus the club can’t sign new players.
However, he says that the West Londoners need to work out what to do with Romelu Lukaku as he takes up space in the squad and the wage bill.
The reporter describes that prospect as “a long shot… but not impossible.”
Finally, Incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been linked with a sensational swoop for Chelsea star N’Golo Kante this summer.
The takeover disruption at Stamford Bridge has convinced various clubs that many star players are up for grabs.
According to The Mirror, this has led to United chiefs, including Ten Hag, believing a swoop for Kante is a realistic proposition this summer.
The news comes after SunSport exclusively revealed that the West Londoners were fearing the midfielder would be one of many players on their way out of the club
    Not Rud timing
Bayern Munich failed with an 11th hour transfer move for departing Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger
Rudiger is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in the summer and is set to join Real Madrid.
According to SportBild’s Christian Falk, Bayern contacted the centre-back over a potential deal.
But the German champions had acted too late, with the 29-year-old having already almost agreed terms with Real.
This report states that Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic got in touch with the Germany international’s agent after the Champions League exit to Villarreal.
But the Bavarians would not meet Rudiger’s wage demands
    Ousmane in Dem-and
Bayern Munich have added Chelsea target Ousmane Dembele to their list of summer transfer targets.
Dembele is set to leave Barcelona on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.
Some of Europe’s biggest clubs have been linked with a potential swoop for the forward, including Paris Saint-Germain and the Blues.
The West Londoners were planning to go all-out to sign the France international in the coming months, however, they now face some serious competition from Bayern.
According to Sky Sports, the German champions are very interested in signing the 24-year-old and have already made contact with his representatives.
Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann is eager to sign a new forward who has the ability to make a difference in attack as he faces the risk of losing star man Robert Lewandowski
    More from Rudiger
Departing Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger wanted a “different ending” at Stamford Bridge.
Rudiger will leave the Blues in the summer for Real Madrid.
Rudiger added: “It’s been five years as normal with ups and downs, but with a lot of positive things.
“That’s why I’m even more frustrated because I wanted to have a different ending”
    Rudiger talks exit
Departing Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger has dismissed the theory that Government sanctions are behind his decision to quit Stamford Bridge for Real Madrid.
Rudiger said: “There was a chance but sanctions are not the problem. I don’t want to go too deep in things.
“At the end of the day it’s not only about one side [helping the other], it’s both sides – Chelsea have been great to me, I have been great to Chelsea.
“As always, I am very, very thankful me, my family. I became a man here. My kids were born here and everything. London and especially Chelsea will always be special to me”

    Man Utd eye Kante
Incoming Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been linked with a sensational swoop for Chelsea star N’Golo Kante this summer.
The takeover disruption at Stamford Bridge has convinced a number of clubs that some of the Blues’ prized assets are up for grabs at the end of the season.
According to The Mirror, this has led to United chiefs, including Ten Hag, believing a swoop for Kante is a realistic proposition.
The news comes after SunSport exclusively revealed that the West Londoners were fearing the star midfielder would be one of a number of players on their way out of the club.
Chelsea are already having to say goodbye to Antonio Rudiger, who is joining Real Madrid, as well as Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen, who have been linked with Barcelona.
That is after the club were restricted from doing business back in March following sanctions placed on departing owner Roman Abramovich
    Tuchel backs Mount
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel called for an investigation into abuse aimed at Mason Mount after having his FA Cup final penalty saved.
Tuchel said: “Nothing I can say will stop these guys doing it. I don’t understand social media anyway. It has a huge impact and I don’t get it.
“I’m not on social media and it keeps me healthy, more healthy than I would be on it. It’s a very thin ice for everybody who is in such a spotlight to be out there. Abuse is not acceptable, be it here or on social media.
“If someone thinks he has the right to write it, we will not be able to stop him — but maybe we can investigate”
    More from Government source
The source added: “There’s alarm about the gap between what Abramovich has said he will do publicly and what he’s willing to commit to legally as part of the sale process.
“There are pressing deadlines this week, and if there isn’t a breakthrough, we’re quite concerned that the sale of Chelsea could be timed out by certain sporting deadlines.
“Chelsea are saying to us they don’t know who owns Camberley International and can’t talk to them. We cannot contact Camberley International to talk about this.
“Our understanding of the structure is that Camberley International is an affiliate of a trust fund which is owned by his children or goes to his children with an individual in Cyprus acting as the trustees’ signatory.
“Abramovich seems unwilling to give the legal commitments that neither he nor his affiliates could stake a claim to that unpaid debt between Fordstam and Camberley.
“A deal which would allow the cash to be diverted would be a breach of sanctions and would be a red line for ministers”
    More on Chelsea takeover
The sticking point remains Government demands that the entire £2.6bn from Todd Boehly be placed in a holding account until officials are satisfied all the money will then go to a foundation to help victims of Russia’s unjust invasion of Ukraine.
But Chelsea and departing owner Roman Abramovich maintain their wish for the £1.6bn debt owed by the club’s parent company Fordstam – effectively money owed to the Russian owner over his 19-year reign – be sent to a Jersey-registered investment company before being sent on to the foundation.
The Blues’ demand is that the money would be frozen after being transferred to Camberley International Investments ahead of being moved to the foundation.
But the Government believes that would break the sanctions imposed on Abramovich and other Russian oligarchs for their alleged support of president Vladimir Putin

    Chelsea takeover latest
Chelsea departing owner Roman Abramovich has been accused of blocking the final sale of the club and putting its future in danger.
In a remarkable cranking up of pressure, sources close to the UK Government have turned their fire on Abramovich over the proposed sale condition.
Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly and his consortium were hopeful of completing a £2.6bn takeover with a promise to spend a further £1.65bn on the stadium, academy and team-building by the end of this week.
But the ongoing spat between the Blues and the DCMS over the final structure of the agreement has now broken out into a serious issue.
A Government insider expressed “considerable alarm” at the flare-up, suggesting the very viability of the West Londoners could be at threat.
The source said: “There’s quite serious concern in government that the deal may fall apart and that Roman Abramovich is ultimately willing to let Chelsea go under”
    Christensen is going
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed Andreas Christensen will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Tuchel is sure he will be without Christensen next season as he stated: “We’re losing him.”
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the centre-back agreed a deal with Barcelona weeks ago.
The German head coach confirmed the news while revealing the Denmark international refused to play in the FA Cup Final

Thomas Tuchel’s side have occupied third spot for most of the season.
But fifth-placed Arsenal and Spurs in fourth were hot on the Blues’ heels heading into the final week of the campaign.
But the Gunners untimely implosion at St.James’ Park has ensured the Blues WILL play alongside Europe’s best in the upcoming campaign.
A Ben White own goal and a late Bruno Guimaraes strike saw the Magpies collect all three points on Tyneside.

The Blues lost the FA Cup final to Liverpool on Saturday, along with the Carabao Cup in February, and are still in the process of sorting out new owners.
And they’ve also lost key defender Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid.
Rudiger is set to join the Spanish giants this summer on a free transfer after failing to agree a new contract with the Blues. More
