Chelsea ‘want to hijack Man Utd’s Frenkie de Jong transfer and reunite Barcelona star with Matthijs de Ligt’

CHELSEA want to hijack Manchester United’s move for Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong, according to reports.The Red Devils were claimed to have struck a £56million deal in principal to sign the Dutchman a week ago.

Reports in Spain have since claimed that the transfer has hit a snag over £24million that De Jong is owed by Barca.
Man United are said to be reluctant to foot the extra bill, with Chelsea now ready to pounce.
According to transfer reporter Gerard Romero, the Blues have entered the hunt for De Jong.
He adds that the West Londoners want to team him up with his former Ajax team-mate Matthijs de Ligt at Stamford Bridge.

CHELSEA target Matthijs de Ligt has reportedly put his talks to join the club on hold in order to wait for a bid from Bayern Munich. The Dutchman is wanted by the Blues this summer following the losses of centre-halves Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

De Ligt, 22, put in a transfer request at Juventus and is heading for the exit.
Chelsea had been the front-runners to sign the former Ajax star, previously seeing an offer of £34million plus either Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic rejected.
However, De Ligt has decided to put talks with the Blues on hold in order to allow Bayern to try to strike an agreement, says Christian Falk.

A bid of £14m is just £6m less than than the £19.7m United paid Juventus to resign the Portuguese superstar last summer.

Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus would love to have Manchester United star and Chelsea target Cristiano Ronaldo at the Allianz Arena.
Matthaus said: “Ronaldo to Bayern would be sexy.
“If Bayern are of the opinion that Ronaldo is still physically able to really help for a year or two and that they can invest the transfer fee generated for Lewandowski more or less like-for-like, I would think about it.
“He’s one of the best strikers of all-time and would certainly score around 30 goals.”

Gordon shone last season as Everton escaped the drop.
The 21-year-old scored four goals and provided three assists in all competitions and has become a firm favourite with the Goodison faithful.
He is set to be offered a bumper long-term deal so the Magpies will explore a bid for Hudson-Odoi, with Chelsea willing to listen to offers.
The England winger, 21, is set to fall further down the pecking order with the imminent arrival of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.
