It comes as Thomas Tuchel searches for a replacement for Romelu Lukaku – who returned to Inter Milan on loan after a difficult 12 months with the Blues.
However, Xavi now appears to have poured cold water on an Aubameyang-Chelsea link-up.
According to Sport, the club have no intention of selling him in the current window.
Despite the arrival of Robert Lewandowski, Xavi believes the pair can co-exist within the squad and even link-up together in certain matches.

The report also states that Aubameyang does not want to leave as he fought hard to secure the move to Barcelona and wishes to fight for his place.
Aubameyang netted 13 goals in the second half of last season, making him the club’s joint top scorer despite not being with them for the first half of the campaign.
And he will have more firepower alongside him this season in the form of Lewandowski and Raphinha.
But one man who looks set to be shown the exit door is Dutch forward Memphis Depay.

But with a lack of defensive reinforcements this summer Boehly has prevented Azpilicueta from leaving Stamford Bridge.
Instead, he wants the veteran to stay at Chelsea as he does not want to lose “his experience and leadership.”
According to The Times however, Azpilicueta remains optimistic a deal can be struck between the two clubs.
It is understood the Spaniard has his heart set on a move to the Nou Camp.

The versatile defender has completed a clean sweep of trophies at Chelsea, following on from The Blues’ victory in the Club World Cup earlier this year.
Azpilicueta has been at the club for a decade now, and has made 472 appearances in all competitions for them.
The 32-year-old’s contract at the club was due to expire in this summer, but an extension clause in his deal was triggered when he hit 35 games last season.
This gave Chelsea some much-needed breathing room around potential player losses at the start of the summer due to the club’s operations being limited as part of sanctions levelled at ex-owner Roman Abramovich.

Chelsea have identified Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella as targets.

Kalidou Koulibaly has already joined the club and Leicester’s Wesley Fofana could also follow suit in the defensive department.
Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries is also subject to talks over a potential £29.3million move.
And according to the Evening Standard, they could add to their midfield and attack after being offered THREE players by Barca.
Former Arsenal striker Aubameyang, 33, who only joined the club in January, is one of the players being presented to Chelsea.

The forward is considering his future at the Camp Nou following the arrival of Ballon d’Or 2021 runner-up Robert Lewandowski.
Long-term Manchester United target De Jong, 25, is a player Chelsea have been keeping an eye on.
He is the highest-paid player at Barca on a reported £450,000-a-week and is being asked to reduce his salary or leave.
De Jong is owed an estimated £17m by the club in deferred wages, which is a complicated issue that would need to be resolved.

Chelsea could lure De Jong to West London with Champions League football on the table – something Man Utd can’t offer.
And former United ace Depay, 28, has also been offered to Chelsea with the Blues being kept informed on his situation.
Doing such a deal with Chelsea would be beneficial for both parties.
Barca are desperately trying to offload players to allow them to sign Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso from Chelsea.
Tuchel had a good relationship with Aubameyang, in particular, during their time together at Borussia Dortmund.

Following Aubameyang being stripped of the Arsenal captaincy last year, Tuchel said: “I will (reach out to him). I don’t want to disturb.
“I think that he was a very important player for me, we had a very close relationship until today. When we meet it is still always very nice.
“I can only say the best things about Auba as a player and person. I feel sorry for him that he is in trouble.
“This is not where he should be with his kind of quality and positive character.” More

The Spanish giants hijacked Chelsea’s attempts to sign Raphinha and Jules Kounde but Thomas Tuchel could get revenge by luring Frenkie de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the club.
Tuchel reportedly wants to sign a striker following the departure of Romelu Lukaku and he is keen on Aubameyang, who he worked with at Borussia Dortmund.
Chelsea have also held talks with RB Salzburg about a move for £55m-rated forward Benjamin Sesko amid interest from Manchester United.
De Jong has also emerged as a transfer target and is said to be open to the switch as Chelsea negotiate a fee with Barca, who want £72m.

The Dutchman could be joined in a new look Blues midfield alongside Carney Chukwuemeka, who is set to complete a £20m deal from Aston Villa.
Should Chelsea miss out on De Jong owner and interim sporting director Todd Boehly could swoop for Cesare Casadei.

The 19-year-old is considered the jewel of Inter Milan’s academy but the Italian side are demanding £17m for the youngster after rejecting Chelsea’s £6.7m bid.
Chelsea are still prioritising defensive signings and were thought to be close to sealing Marc Cucurella for £52.5m before Brighton denied an agreement had been reached.

A deal could still be reached although Tuchel has other targets in mind including Leicester’s Wesley Fofana, though the Foxes are demanding £85m to let the Frenchman leave.
Another option is RB Leipzig star Josko Gvardiol, who could arrive in a swap deal that would see Timo Werner moving the other way.
Tuchel also likes the look of Denzel Dumfries and Chelsea are set to hold talks with Inter, who have set an asking price of £29.3m for the right-back.
Dumfries’ arrival could mean Reece James operates in central defence more often, as he did on occasion last season.
Tuchel appears to be keen to find a back-up for his wing-backs with Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters also linked with a move as Marcos Alonso’s future hangs in the balance. More

Chelsea have first Wesley Fofana transfer bid of £63m rejected by Leicester despite huge financial problems

CHELSEA have had an opening offer for Wesley Fofana rejected by Leicester City despite a crippling financial situation at the club, reports suggest.Fofana, 21, is one of Chelsea’s targets in central defence this transfer window with the club needing to replace the losses of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Thomas Tuchel is keen to recruit Fofana and new owner Todd Boehly – who is also operating as the club’s interim director of football – has ramped up The Blues’ interest in recent weeks.
This has resulted in an opening bid for Fofana in the region of £63million.
But L’Equipe report this opening bid has been rejected.
Leicester are understood to be demanding a fee of at least £84million.

Chelsea are reluctant to match such a large fee for the Frenchman, but are willing to offer him a handsome £200,000 per week.
However, the precarious financial situation of Leicester could tip the balance of power in procuring Fofana more into their hands.

A report from The Times indicates a post-Covid hangover and lack of big-money sales have left The Foxes unable to invest in the first team this summer.
This has left Leicester in the unique position of being the only side to have not made a single signing despite the Premier League kicking off in a matter of days.

And Fofana is not the only player courting interest at the King Power Stadium, with James Maddison also the subject of a major bid from Newcastle.
Likewise, Youri Tielemans has been linked with a move to Arsenal, with The Gunners yet to submit a formal bid.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has grown concerned over the futures of a number of integral stars within his squad, but he cannot recruit replacements until there are sales.
He has also now lost the services of veteran goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel after he completed a shock move to Nice after a decade of service at the club, including a Premier League and FA Cup title.

While Fofana remains a priority target for Chelsea, they have also been in talks with Brighton to sign Man City target Marc Cucurella.
Reports suggested an agreement had been reached between the two clubs before The Seagulls issued a statement late last night denying this claim. More

But it appears Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is still keen on bringing another striker to the club, after Romelu Lukaku returned to Inter Milan on loan.
The Premier League side missed out on Robert Lewandowski, who left Bayern Munich for Barcelona.
