However, representatives indicated that – once the two clubs had agreed a fee – they would accept West Ham’s contract terms.
The east Londoners are now negotiating with Chelsea over a fee, with an initial £13million set to be paid before add-ons.
Those add-ons remain a sticking point and are still being negotiated but a deal could be struck over the weekend.
West Ham boss David Moyes has been keen to add a left-back all summer to provide competition for Aaron Cresswell, who may also be needed in a back three.

They are also short in that position following Arthur Masuaku’s move to Besiktas.
Emerson, who spent last season on loan with Lyon, would become West Ham’s seventh signing of the summer as Moyes overhauls his squad.

New £30.5million striker Gianluca Scamacca scored the opener on his full debut against Viborg on Thursday night, assisted by fellow summer arrival Maxwel Cornet.
Moyes has also added defenders Nayef Aguerd and Thilo Kehrer as well as midfielder Flynn Downes while Alphonse Areola made his loan move permanent.

And though Chelsea previously ended negotiations to sell Alonso to the Catalans, they have now offered up the Spaniard along with £15million to sign Aubameyang, report The Athletic.
And it is believed negotiating personal terms with the striker will not be a problem, with Aubameyang opting to join Chelsea over Manchester United.
But the Gabon international is happy at the Nou Camp and would like to stay – with manager Xavi also wanting to keep hold of the star.
However Barcelona need to sell to ease their financial turmoil and wish to remove his £80,000 a week salary from their wage bill.

The Spanish giants are believed to want around £21m to let Aubameyang go, but could be enticed by the opportunity to sign Alonso.
Barca were thought to be close to completing a move for Alonso earlier this week after Chelsea accepted a £6m bid.

And the left-back has reportedly agreed a three-year contract with Barca after speaking directly to Xavi about the switch.
But the transfer cannot be completed until Barcelona register new signing Jules Kounde.

That will only be possible if the club reduces its wage bill – which means Aubameyang may have to be sold first.
Fellow summer signings Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen have finally been successfully registered with LaLiga following a lengthy delay. More

Arsenal warned that Chelsea signing ex-player Aubameyang could harm top-four chances by Gunners legend Parlour

FORMER Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour believes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could harm the club’s Champions League pursuit if he were to join Chelsea.Aubameyang, 33, left the Gunners to join Barcelona on a free transfer in January after having his contract terminated.

But, Chelsea are now looking to bring him back to the Premier League following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.
Thomas Tuchel is weighing up the possibility of a deal for the striker, who would be returning to England to play for a rival club.

However, Arsenal icon Parlour believes this could spell trouble for the Gunners.
When speaking on TalkSPORT, he said: “I don’t think Arsenal fans would be too happy.

“[Chelsea are] Arsenal’s rivals, that’s who they’re going to be competing with if they’re going to try and get in that top four this season.
“But Aubameyang has been pushed out, he might want to play in the Premier League still, Mikel Arteta made it clear he’s going to be leaving.”

The striker’s form dramatically dipped during the latter stages of his Arsenal career.
During his final season for the club he managed just four goals in 14 Premier League appearances.

Despite this, Parlour believes he could still do a good job for Tuchel’s side.
He added: “For me it’s a no brainer for Chelsea, it really is.
“Werner has gone back to RB Leipzig, so they’re lacking goals.
“So Aubameyang will definitely score. Before he signed his new contract at Arsenal, he was brilliant. He won the FA Cup for Arsenal on his own.
“So he’d be a good signing, if you can get him for one season, he’ll be coming back to prove people wrong that’s what he’ll be trying to do.”

Reports have suggested that Chelsea will look to sign Aubameyang for the short term until RB Leipzig striker Christopher Nkunku becomes available.
Nkunku signed a contract extension with the Bundesliga side in June, but the new deal includes a clause that will allow him to leave for £51million next summer. More

Chelsea boss Tuchel NOT impressed with VAR chief Dean admitting he was wrong not to flag Cucurella hair pull to referee

CHELSEA boss Thomas Tuchel has admitted he is not impressed with VAR chief Mike Dean after the former referee admitted he was wrong for not flagging Cristian Romero’s hair pull on Marc Cucurella.Last Sunday’s London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham saw an added-time equaliser and a manager bust-up on the touchline, resulting in both bosses being sent off.

VAR also came into question when it didn’t flag Romero’s hair pull on Cucurella from a corner.
Dean, who was the man on VAR, has admitted his fault in not flagging the incident to referee Anthony Taylor.

Speaking in his column for The Mail, he said: “In the few seconds I had to study Romero pulling Cucurella’s hair, I didn’t deem it a violent act.
“I’ve since studied the footage, spoken to other referees and, upon reflection, I should have asked Taylor to visit his pitch-side monitor to take a look for himself.

“The referee on field always has the final say.”
But Dean’s admission hasn’t gone down well with Chelsea boss Tuchel.
The German says he struggles “a little bit to be fully impressed by [Dean’s] statement”.
Tuchel said ahead of Chelsea’s game against Leeds: “Hopefully I am not too honest but if a mistake is that big and obvious, what is the point in not admitting it for the whole season?

“I struggle a little bit to be fully impressed by [Dean’s] statement, I have to say.
“It is so clear and obvious, I cannot understand how a referee cannot make the decision that was the right decision.”
Tuchel continued: “It was the VAR who got it totally wrong in this case.
“I think it could be more transparent, to make it easier.
“Maybe they could explain the decisions on the field to everybody: why they take this decision, why a goal is not allowed, why it is disallowed, why he is overruling his own decision.” More
