    Thomas Tuchel snubs first management job offer since Chelsea sacking as he turns down approach from Bayer Leverkusen

    FORMER Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has rejected an offer to take over at Bayer Leverkusen, according to reports.The German was sacked by the Blues back in September after a slow start to the season and with new owner Todd Boehly wanting to appoint his own man in Graham Potter.

    Tuchel has reportedly since been contacted by Leveruksen but he has turned down the approach.
    The club are yet to part ways current boss Gerardo Seoane but he is under pressure with the team second bottom of the league.
    He faces must win games in his next two matches against Porto in the Champions League and Schalke in the Bundesliga, claim Sport1.
    Seoane has received public support from CEO Fernando Carro however he has stressed that the club are not unprepared for a change in manager.

    Last season the club finished third in the Bundesliga but this campaign has been disastrous in comparison taking only five points from eight matches.
    It is unknown whether the club’s perilous position or if Tuchel wants to take a break from the dugout is the reason why he is reportedly ‘not interested’ in Leverkusen.
    Tuchel, 49, had a great spell at Chelsea before his sacking winning the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup.
    SunSport had exclusively revealed he was brutally dismissed by Boehly in a short meeting after pleading for more time.

    He spent around £275million on transfers in the summer but was given few matches to embed all his new players.
    His pedigree remains high though as his Chelsea stint follows his time at Paris Saint-Germain where he lifted two league titles and made the final of the Champions League.
    Tuchel has not managed in his homeland since his first senior job at Mainz before taking charge of Borussia Dortmund for two seasons.
    With Julian Nagelsmann under pressure at Bayern Munich he has also been rumoured to be a candidate for that role. More

    CHELSEA are leading the race to sign AC Milan star Rafael Leao, according to reports.Leao is being monitored by a number of top clubs as he enjoys yet another fantastic season in Serie A.

    Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera report that Chelsea are “ahead of everyone” in the battle for the winger’s signature.
    But the 23-year-old won’t come cheap with AC Milan not willing to accept any bid under £87million.
    The Portuguese international’s contract expires in 2024 with the Italian giants keen to tie him down to a new long-term contract.
    Reports suggest that there was plenty of bids for Leao in the summer, with at least one from Chelsea, but a deal didn’t materialise.

    He has been on fire for the Rossoneri this season scoring four times and assisting a further seven in nine Serie A and Champions League matches.
    This continues his excellent form from last season where he helped Stefano Pioli’s side win the Serie A title with 11 goals and ten assists in the league.
    Leao will have the chance to impress his potential new club this week as AC Milan travel to Stamford Bridge for a Champions League group stage game.
    The tie is a must win match for the West Londoners claims Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

    Nkunku, 24, is able to play as a striker as well as an attacking midfielder possibly threatening Kai Havertz’s place in the starting XI.
    Chelsea have also been linked with a shock move for Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli.
    The Brazilian is apparently being monitored by Potter after making a fine start to the season scoring three goals.

    Reports suggest the Blues as well as the Gunners are interested in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic with the Italian giants struggling for form and risk not qualifying for the Champions League.
    Chelsea owner Todd Boehly heavily backed Thomas Tuchel prior to his sacking letting the German spend around £275million on players such as Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana and Raheem Sterling.
    Boehly is expected to financially back Potter just as much and next summer could see the West Londoners be the big spenders again.
    The American could still want more than the three mentioned to be signed such as Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo and they could poach players Potter knows from Brighton like Moises Caiceido.

    Chelsea holding sporting director interviews this week after collapse of Salzburg transfer chief Christoph Freund deal

    CHELSEA will hold a round of interviews this week as Todd Boehly looks to name a new sporting director.The Blues held talks with RB Salzburg’s Christoph Freund last month.
    Todd Boehly became Chelsea owner back in June
    Freund was at Stamford Bridge less than two weeks ago for the Austrian outfit’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Champions League.
    But the 45-year-old won’t be returning to West London on a permanent basis after he confirmed he’ll be staying with Salzburg.
    He said: “When a club like Chelsea is interested in you, it is a big honour not just for you, but also for the work of the club in general.
    “But I’ve come to the conclusion that FC Red Bull Salzburg is the best place for me.”

    As a result co-owner Boehly – who was also looking at former Liverpool executive Michael Edwards – is still hoping to fill the role.
    The American has been working as an interim sporting director since buying the club in the summer.
    But according to The Athletic, a series of meetings are set to be held this week.
    The Mirror have claimed that PSG’s Luis Campos, Sevilla’s Monchi, Atalanta’s Lee Congerton, Benfica’s Rui Pedro Braz and Leeds’ Victor Orta are all in the running for the job.

    Former boss Thomas Tuchel was sacked after their Champions League opener, a shock 1-0 defeat with Dinamo Zagreb, while Potter started his Chelsea tenure with a 1-1 home draw to Red Bull Salzburg.
    The Blues now host Milan, Aubameyang’s former club, at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday before heading to the San Siro next week.
    The Rossoneri are top of the group, three points clear of Chelsea ahead of the double-header.
    Aubameyang said: “Maybe we will get our first three points at home.

    Aubameyang bagged his first Chelsea goal in the comeback win against Palace over the weekend.

    And despite an underwhelming start to the season for the Old Lady in which they have won just three of their first eight Serie A games, Vlahovic has continued to build his growing reputation.
    The star averages just about a goal-every-other-game for club and country.
    He has 14 in 30 games for Juve, a total which includes five goals and an assist from seven outings in this campaign.

    Now Graham Potter’s Blues might go for him as they continue to look for an option to fill the Romelu Lukaku-shaped hole in their side left by the big Belgium striker’s return on loan to Inter Milan.

    Last month, it was reported the Gunners are lining up a fresh bid for the star in January.

    Chelsea ‘agree £52.7m transfer deal for RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku’ with player set to join next season

    CHELSEA have reportedly agreed a deal for RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku.The Blues brought attacking reinforcements in during the summer including Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

    But new owner Todd Boehly seems keen to add even more players following the change of manager – with Thomas Tuchel replaced by Graham Potter.
    And according to The Athletic, Chelsea are now set to seal the transfer of Nkunku after activating his £52.7m release clause – with the player having signed a pre-contract agreement.
    The move is expected to see him remain at Leipzig until the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
    This is because his release clause does not become active until the summer.

    But Chelsea are spending a bigger fee in advance to secure his services before other clubs can hijack the deal.
    Nkunku has contributed 55 goals and 48 assists in 148 games for Leipzig.
    He joined the German side in 2019 after coming through the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain.
    The attacker has also received eight caps for France following his debut back in March.

    When quizzed on the interest, he told Telefoot: “It’s no secret. There are clubs interested in me. 
    “Yes it’s flattering, but it’s also flattering to have a club like Leipzig do everything to keep me as well.
    “I’ll have to reflect and make a decision. The World Cup is on the way and that’s another factor to take into account.”

    CHELSEA were hoping to keep Christoper Nkunku’s medical at the club secret, according to reports. The RB Leipzig star underwent a preliminary examination and the Blues were keen that nobody found out about their early transfer moves.

    But the news was leaked that the medical happened a few weeks ago.
    Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that all parties involved wanted to keep the discussions with Chelsea secret and the deal remains a long way from done.
    Graham Potter’s side and the Bundesliga club are yet to agree a fee.
    Nkunku, 24, apparently has a £53million release clause in his contract that Chelsea may have to trigger.

    The Frenchman has eight caps for the national team and can play as a striker and an attacking midfielder with his versatility appealing to Potter.
    Nkunku has netted eight goals in 12 games this season continuing his exceptional form from the previous year.
    Last campaign he scored an incredible 35 goals and registered 20 assists in 52 matches as RB Leipzig qualified for the Champions League and won the German domestic cup.
    Chelsea owner Todd Boehly supposedly wanted to show Nkunku that he is desperate to sign him with the weirdly timed medical and the American wants to build a relationship with RB Leipzig.
