The 52-year-old, the world’s highest-paid manager, has been in charge at Atletico since 2011 and has won both LaLiga and the Europa League twice in taking Atletico out of the shadows of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
But this season’s Champions League calamity, while also trailing league leaders Barcelona by 13 points, could see Atletico part ways with Simeone.
Fichajes are claiming that Tuchel is the favourite to take over should Simeone leave and he could transform how the Spanish side look.
A number of stars Tuchel managed at Chelsea could make the switch, as well as some transfer targets that were identified during his 20-month reign at Stamford Bridge.

One of those stars could be Mason Mount, who is at a contract renewal stalemate with Chelsea.
Mount’s contract expires in 2024 and Chelsea would like to tie the academy product down to a new deal.
The England international played some of his best football under the German.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined Chelsea in the summer and was excited to work under Tuchel, who managed him at Borussia Dortmund.

The pair could reunite for the third time at Atletico with Aubameyang leading the line.
Joao Felix is also reportedly heading for the exit door, leaving a potential opening.
Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is said to be considering his future at Stamford Bridge after falling behind Kepa Arrizabalaga in the pecking order.
Mendy was Tuchel’s No1 in the 2021 Champions League win.
And RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku could also become a target.
The Frenchman was identified as a transfer option for Chelsea while Tuchel was in charge.
In a sweet bit of revenge, Tuchel could look to scupper Blues owner Todd Boehly and Co’s plans to sign the attacking sensation.
Mount, Nkunku and Aubameyang could form a deadly front three at Atletico More

According to the Telegraph, the Blues’ Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership put two members of Tuchel’s staff on gardening leave, allowing them to remain in England with their families.
Being placed on gardening leave means they are technically still contracted to Chelsea.
However, Tuchel was not made a similar offer to Zslot Low and Benjamin Webber, and due to post-Brexit visa laws, the Champions League-winning manager will be kicked OUT of the UK next month.
Tuchel was happy in Surrey, where his daughters have attended school, the report says.

But he has been left with no choice but to find a new permanent home, and it is understood he will move to Munich in his native country.
Tuchel arrived at Chelsea in 2021 on a post-Brexit Governing Body Endorsement visa and attempts to get clarity on different options or get help to apply for an alternative visa have proved unsuccessful.
Despite not being allowed to permanently stay in England, Tuchel intends to travel back to London regularly and split his time between the capital and Munich.
Tuchel is said to be waiting for the right opportunity to return to coaching.

Abraham has had an underwhelming season in front of goal
He went on to score 27 goals and provide six assists across all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s side and helped Roma win the inaugural Uefa Europa Conference League.
However, his fortunes haven’t been as great this term, scoring just four times in 20 appearances in all competitions
This led to boss Mourinho publicly hitting out at the striker, calling on him to address his woes in front of goal.
And now according to Calciomercato, Roma are open to selling Abraham in the January transfer window should any interesting offers arrive.

Roma director Tiago Pinto wants to strengthen Mourinho’s squad in the New Year and has set his sights on Sassuolo midfielder Frattesi.
Sassuolo will not consider any loan offers and it would take a fair whack of cash to part with the 23-year-old, which is where Abraham could come into play.
Abraham’s form isn’t only a concern for Roma.
The ex-Chelsea striker missed out on a place in Gareth Southgate’s 26-man England squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

Boss Southgate, whose Three Lions are among the favourites to win in Qatar, publicly cited Abraham’s form as to why he wasn’t picked.
Newcastle’s Callum Wilson was selected ahead of Abraham and Brentford’s Ivan Toney, with the latter being a surprise omission.
Southgate said on Abraham: “Tammy has had a poor run of scoring form at the wrong time.
“It’s not a case where we’re three to four weeks away from the finals, we’re 10 days.

“So form could be more important. We don’t really know where they are until we see them face to face, on the training pitch, medical issues we’re not completely aware of.
“We know the form we see in the matches, but you don’t get the full picture.”

That’s at the expense of United’s David De Gea and Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga.
And the Mirror claims both Premier League giants are interested in signing Sanchez next summer.
The 24-year-old burst on to the scene two seasons ago under now-Chelsea boss Graham Potter.
Sanchez has since played 79 times for Brighton.

And he is now a regular in Spain’s international set-up, winning his first cap last year.
Old pal Potter remains a huge fan of Sanchez and believes he is ideally suited to his style of possession football.
As for United, they are in more urgent need of a new stopper as doubts remain over De Gea’s future.
The veteran is out of contract next summer, although United have the option to extend his deal for a further year.

But the Red Devils do not want to continue forking out De Gea’s reported £350,000-a-week salary until 2024.
The Premier League and Europa League winner has reportedly expressed an interest in taking a salary cut.
However, Erik ten Hag could yet opt for a clean break, and Sanchez is seen as a suitable replacement.
He is tied down to Brighton until 2027, and Roberto De Zerbi sees him as a key player.
But it’s understood Sanchez has a £57million release clause, making him a viable option should clubs decide they really want him. More

Paul Merson explains real reason Chelsea are struggling as fans call for Graham Potter to be axed after just two months

PAUL MERSON has blamed Chelsea’s summer signings for their recent run of poor form – not under-fire boss Graham Potter.Potter’s side have not won any of their last five Premier League fixtures, meaning they have dropped to eighth in the table.
Chelsea have struggled to find their best form in recent games.Credit: Getty
The poor run continued on Saturday as Newcastle beat the Blues 1-0 at St James’ Park in their last game before the break for the World Cup in Qatar.
While some Chelsea fans have been quick to call for Potter to be sacked, ex-Gunner Merson believes that the lack of impact from the players brought in during the summer should be blamed.
Discussing how well they have settled in, he told Sky Sports: “Not at the moment they haven’t, [Raheem] is not going to make it at wing-back. I am not a manager, you have to play to people’s strengths.
“[Kalidou] Koulibaly doesn’t play, he [Graham Potter] picks [Trevor] Chabolah, but I like him, he has done very well.

‘[Marc] Cucurella is a prime example, it is different clubs, you play at Brighton, you get beat at Brighton you probably get a little line in the paper that Brighton get beat 1-0.
“At Chelsea, he is getting absolutely slaughtered with people saying he is not good enough and picking him out when goals are going in, that didn’t happen at Brighton.
“It is a different game and it is a different game for the manager, I think he will get used to it. I think he is a good manager, I think he will get it right.
“There is players in there that I don’t think he would have at the club if it was his choice.

“I think we should give him till next season or the season afterwards. Chelsea are not a team where you want to come fourth one season and third the next, it is win or nothing.
“You look at Graham Potter and ‘think right we want Graham Potter’, but it means we come with or sixth this year and win it next year.
“Chelsea don’t work on third, fourth, third, they want to win.”
Chelsea spent £255.3million during the summer transfer window on Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
None of the five have set the world alight during the first part of the season, and Potter will be hoping for more from them after the World Cup. More

The Daily Mail report that the American has created a team dedicated to building the new ground, although no venue has been decided.
Plans include the possibility of swanky 60,000 stadium on a 40-acre site in Earl’s Court.
Ideas about the new development are said to still be in the “early stages” and no official planning applications have been submitted.
Boehly would require permission from Chelsea Pitch Owners – the 180-year lease shareholder group who owns the freehold – to leave Stamford Bridge.

A move to Earls Court, where the Exhibition Centre once stood, was explored under Roman Abromovich.
But plans were abandoned in 2010 when the Hammersmith and Fulham Council squashed them.
Another option is to REBUILD Stamford Bridge one stand at a time.
That would see a staged rebuild of the current ground, with the stands replaced and upgraded one by one.

The hotel behind the Shed End would also be bulldozed.
Boehly has supposedly appointed architect Janet Marie Smith, who has worked on a host of stadium renovations in the US.
A number of Smith’s projects include Baltimore’s Oriole Park, Atlanta’s Olympic Stadium, the Boston Red Sox’s Fenway Park and Boehly’s Dodger Stadium in LA.
