The 29-year-old has completed 90 minutes just once for the Blues this season and could be tempted to leave in search of more game time.
AC Milan are reportedly looking to swoop in and offer him that with a proposed loan deal in January.
According to Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport the 19-time Serie A champions are hoping to bring Ziyech in on an initial loan in the new year with a view to making it permanent in the summer.
Ziyech cost Chelsea £33.3 million when he signed from Ajax, but the London club would be lucky to recoup anything near that fee for the attacking midfielder if they were to sell now.

Despite not getting much game time under Graham Potter, Ziyech has been a prominent figure in his nation’s World Cup campaign.
He completed the full 90 minutes in both of Morocco’s first two games in Qatar where they faced Croatia and Belgium without conceding a goal.
Manchester United have also previously been linked with a move for Ziyech with Erik Ten Haag looking to reunite with the man he managed at Ajax.
Ziyech himself was reluctant to rule out a move away in January when asked about his future whilst out in Qatar.

Ajax have also been linked with bringing him back to Amsterdam, but will face competition in the race.
Ziyech had an amazing career with the Dutch champions, scoring an impressive 49 goals and racking up a whopping 81 assists over the course of 165 games with the club. More

And according to Calciomercato, negotiations started a few months ago regarding an extension.

In that time Chelsea have undergone some changes, including a managerial one which has seen Graham Potter reunite with Cucurella after replacing Thomas Tuchel.
Despite this, Cucurella has not hit the ground running in his time at Chelsea and has struggled with hit-and-miss form for the club, though Potter has backed him to improve.
This erratic form saw him miss out on a spot in the Spain squad for the World Cup.
And while the Spaniard will be hoping to give his Chelsea career the jolt it needs when domestic football returns after the World Cup, he has spoken about his dream to one day return to boyhood club Barcelona.

Previously, Abraham has been considered “non-transferable” by the Serie A side, but it appears there has been a change in attitude towards the former Blue, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian outlet has reported that the club are open to the idea of cashing in on the striker.
Chelsea are believed to have a buy-back clause in his contract worth £68million, twice the amount Roma paid for him.
However, the report suggests that it is unlikely that a return to Stamford Bridge is on the cards for the 25-year-old.

Villa could be a potential destination for Abraham as the report states: “Aston Villa takes care of it concretely, also because only in the Premier League can they afford an important engagement like Tammy’s”.
Since moving to Italy, Abraham has had mixed success. Last season he scored 28 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions, but this campaign, he has only managed four in 20 games.
It is quite a big drop in form, considering he help Jose Mourinho’s side to the Europa Conference League trophy last season.
This form has seen him drop out of favour from England manager Gareth Southgate as he was omitted from the squad at the World Cup.

During this spell, he excelled as a youngster as he scored 26 goals in 40 appearances. More
