Bellingham is ‘big risk’ and doesn’t know his position, says Hamann amid Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City transfer links

But Liverpool hero Hamann is a bit apprehensive when it comes to the midfielder’s asking price, which costs at least £100million.
The former Germany international also suggested that the 19-year-old is yet to fully understand his position on the field despite some stunning displays for England at the World Cup.
The pundit added that he also lacks the ability and pace of club legend Steven Gerrard.
Hamann told talkSPORT: “I’d be careful with Bellingham right now.

“He’s an exceptional talent, he showed that at the World Cup, but if Dortmund ask for £100m odd, £140-150m, it’s a big risk as well.
“I think with Bellingham he’s got to find a position. He models himself of Steven Gerrard but I don’t think he’s got the ability and pace going forward like Gerrard has.
“I think you need to wait and see where he finds his spot in the midfield two or midfield three in the future, and to pay £150m for an 18 or 19-year-old, I think it’s a big risk.”
Liverpool, however, may not have to worry too much about Bellingham’s asking price with recent reports suggesting there is a secret £60m clause in his contract.

But the Merseysiders will be facing strong opposition from Real who are big admirers of the England international and are set to accelerate their bid to land him.
Liverpool have already successfully tackled the transfer market by winning another bidding war for Cody Gakpo.
And Hamann is all for that deal as he insists his former club “needed a player like him”.

“He is a great addition and I hope we see a lot of him in the next few weeks and months.” More

But James has been hard at work recovering and joined the rest of his Blues team-mates in Abu Dhabi for their mid-season training camp.
And James featured in their friendly against Brentford last week after making a successful return to training.
He was put straight back into the side by Graham Potter for the first time since injuring his knee against AC Milan.
James showed few signs of rustiness during the opening period, but disaster struck in the 53rd minute when he was forced off.

He had signalled to the bench about his knee on a couple of occasions.
And was then eventually replaced by Cesar Azpilicueta.
Team-mate Havertz, who scored the Blues’ opener in a 2-0 win, told talkSPORT after the game that James was “devastated in the dressing room” after the game.
He already missed NINE games in all comps after suffering the injury in the Champions League.

And Potter will be hoping it’s nothing serious this time with some key games coming up.
Speaking after the game, when asked if he knew too much about the injury the Blues boss said: “Not too much, no.
“We’re going to have to see in the next 24-48 hours, but disappointing to lose him as quick as we did.”
Chelsea face Manchester City twice in the space of four days next month and also travel to Liverpool before the end of January.
Another lengthy layoff could also put James in danger of missing the last-16 Champions League first leg tie with Borussia Dortmund in 15 February. More
