This could mean that the club will try to convince him to wait another year before making his move.

However, the match was DELAYED by ten minutes following the late arrival of the German giants.
They turned up nearly 30 minutes late due to major congestion around Stamford Bridge, which was in part caused by thousands of fans of both teams walking through the streets of West London.
Dortmund’s late arrival left them with less than an hour to prepare for the second leg of the tie – which was delayed by ten minutes.

Gazzetta claims Leao is no closer to extending his San Siro contract, which expires in 2024.
Milan are now gearing up to sell the Portugal ace at the end of the season.
And English sides including Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are thought to be interested.
However, Leao could end up signing for Real Madrid instead.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
It’s believed the forward’s agent, Jorge Mendes, offered Leao to Los Blancos last month.
Initial contact was started with club chiefs, who are making preparations for the eventual exit of 35-year-old Karim Benzema.
But talks are yet to resume despite Real expressing an interest.
Leao is thought to be open to all options, including staying at Milan.

However, he wants to be paid at least £7million each year on his next deal.
Milan have made several offers which have not come near that figure.
And so an exit appears to be the most probably outcome.
Chelsea had been firm favourites for Leao, with Graham Potter even expressing his admiration for the talent before the Blues’ Champions League group stage wins over Milan.
But Todd Boehly instead opted to spend £88million on Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk in January.
Likewise, Liverpool landed Cody Gakpo at the turn of the year and still have Luis Diaz to return from injury.
And that could end up putting City in pole position, with Jack Grealish currently the only option on the left. More

Chelsea stars facing huge financial hits if club don’t make Champions League this season with Felix’s future up in air

CHELSEA players are facing a hit to their own pockets if they fail to fight their way into the next season’s Champions League. The stakes could hardly be higher before tonight’s second-leg clash with Borussia Dortmund, with the future of star player Joao Felix also potentially dependent on the game.
Felix has scored once, been sent off once and hit the bar twice in his six Chelsea appearances
There are big financial drawbacks for clubs who fail to qualify for Europe’s premier competition.
And the Telegraph report that there could be individual hits for many of Chelsea’s stars as well.
Many of the players who have signed for the Blues since last year’s Todd Boehly-led takeover are believed to have Champions League clauses in their contract.
This means they will reportedly face a 25 per cent reduction in their wages if the Blues fail to make it into the Champions League.

If this is the case, it represents a big change from the Roman Abramovich era.
Player salaries did not change based on whether or not Chelsea made it into the top four – but there were incentives for winning trophies.

The London club’s chances of making it into next season’s Champions League do not look particularly encouraging at the moment.
Chelsea need to cut an 11 point gap to fourth-placed Tottenham in their final 13 games of the season.

He said: “Yeah, playing in the Champions League is always different. It’s a competition that everyone wants to play.

But his dream move unravelled in spectacular fashion and Hazard has been dogged by regular injury issues, inconsistency and question marks hanging over his fitness.
It appears the 32-year-old’s unhappy time at the club may be coming to a close as he prepares to sit down with club bosses to discuss his future.
Hazard’s contract runs until the summer of 2024 but a premature exit could be on the cards.
Fabrizio Romano reports: “Discussions will take place in the next weeks between Real Madrid and Eden Hazard’s camp — his last appearance in La Liga was on September 11.

In his first three full seasons at Madrid, Hazard has failed to appear in half of the 38 La Liga fixtures.
During this campaign, he has only made three appearances.
Even when he is on the pitch, the star has failed to reach his Chelsea heights and incredibly only seven goals in all competitions in nearly four years at the club.
At Stamford Bridge, Hazard hit double figures in six of his seven seasons.
The winger admitted to Marca last year that things had not gone to plan.
He said: “I’m sorry. I’m trying, but … I’m sorry. I have one more year and I have to show [what I can do] but it isn’t easy.

Osimhen, 24, has set Serie A ablaze this season with 19 goals in just 21 games for Napoli.
The Italian giants lead the title race by a mammoth 15 points.

Felix has impressed at Chelsea but has only managed just one Premier League goal in five games.
However, that has not stopped the club from wanting to sign him permanently.
Atletico are likely to demand a high fee for the 23-year-old – who cost them £113million from Benfica in 2019 – after tying him down to a new contract in January.
And, if he is going to stick around, then supporters had better start calling him correctly.

“I don’t know why. It’s not too hard to spell but it’s Joao Fell-ix, not Fee-lix.”
And when asked if it annoys him, he replied: “No, I don’t care.”
Felix himself recently hinted that he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge when his loan deal expires at the end of the campaign.
And his chances of joining Chelsea were boosted following reports that Felix’s Atletico team-mates are “sick to the teeth of him”.
It’s claimed Felix only remains in contact with two players at the club.
Journalist Miguel Martin Talavera told AS TV, via Football Espana: “What is clear is that Joao Felix is going one way and Atletico Madrid are going the other.”
Talavera added: “Right now, Joao Felix is still in contact with two players at Atletico Madrid.
“After four years, Reinildo, who arrived just over a year ago, and Sergio Reguilon, are the ones who he is closest with. With the rest, there is nothing, no friendship.”

Man Utd ‘want Tammy Abraham to solve striking woes but transfer could be scuppered due to £71m Chelsea clause’

MANCHESTER UNITED are interested in Roma star Tammy Abraham but the transfer could be scuppered due to a Chelsea clause, according to reports. The Red Devils are expected to be in the market for a striker this summer and they have been tracking the man with seven goals this season.

Claims from The Athletic suggest that Man Utd scouts have been in regular attendance at the Stadio Olimpico.
However, Chelsea also have an interest in bringing their former striker back to the club.
When Abraham was initially sold to Roma for £34million, then Blues director of football Marina Granovskaia negotiated a £71million buy-back clause.
Chelsea also have to be told if another club comes in for the English striker, meaning they have first refusal on him.

Any decision could be influenced by what they decide to do with Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan.
Roma are battling financial fair play rules after breaching regulations in the 2020/21 campaign.
They supposedly “may have to consider sacrifices” but don’t have to sell Abraham, with an agreement not possible for under £70million.
That means he will still be a cheaper option for United than Napoli ace Victor Osimhen, who is valued at over £100million.

Jose Mourinho’s side sit fourth in the Serie A table and qualification for next season’s Champions League will strengthen their position when it comes to trying to keep Abraham.
The centre-forward enjoyed a fine first season in Italy, netting 27 goals in 53 appearances to help his team win the Conference League.
But the 25-year-old, who became a father for the first time last week, has seen his goals dry up this term.
He since missed out on earning a place in England’s World Cup squad. More
