He has been linked with a move to Liverpool at the end of the season if Chelsea are unable to tie him down to a long-term agreement.
And according to The Telegraph, there has been no breakthrough with regards to contract negotiations.
It is understood the London club will be forced to “make a decision” in the summer if they cannot pen new terms.

It comes amid a period of much change at the Bridge following Todd Boehly’s takeover.
Mount has watched 17 new signings arrive since the summer with more than £600MILLION spent.
Yet despite the huge amount of investment, Chelsea are languishing down in ninth place in the Premier League table.
They have also been eliminated from the FA Cup, but still have Champions League ambitions as they prepare to face Borussia Dortmund in the last 16. More

Merson has Sky Sports Soccer Saturday nightmare as he gets two Chelsea stars’ names wrong and leaves pundits in stitches

However, Merson confessed he could not pronounce one of the winger’s names.
He said: “You know the lad that comes in on the wing. Sorry I can’t pronounce his name.”
Presenter Jeff Stelling believed Merson was referring to Mykhailo Mudryk and interjected by saying: “Mudryk.”
But as it turned out, Merson was actually referring to the opposite side – Noni Madueke – with Merson pronouncing his name “Maduake” rather than Madueke.

Merson then attempted to clear up Stelling’s correction, but ended up leaving his fellow pundits in stitches after another gaffe.
The 54-year-old said: “I can pronounce Modric come on,” before immediately laughing as he was corrected on his error.
Mudryk and Madueke were both hauled off in the second half as Chelsea drew 1-1 with West Ham.
Joao Felix had got the visitors off to a perfect start as he volleyed home from an Enzo Fernandez cross.

But former Chelsea star Emerson then equalised as he ghosted in at the far post unopposed.
Both sides were then denied decisions in the second half.
Tomas Soucek was involved at both ends as he scored a late goal before VAR ruled it out for offside with him then appearing to handle the ball when trying to block Conor Gallagher’s low shot minutes later – something which riled up Chelsea’s social media team.
The result leaves Chelsea nine points outside of the top four, while West Ham climb one point higher above the relegation zone. More

West Ham 1 Chelsea 1: Blues denied last-minute penalty after Soucek saves Gallagher’s shot with hand

CHELSEA old boy Emerson cancelled out new signing Joao Felix’s first goal for the Blues. Then VAR stopped Tomas Soucek heaping more misery on Graham Potter – because former Chelsea trainee Declan Rice was offside from Emerson’s late free kick.

When you bring in as much talent as Chelsea have in the last two windows, some of it is bound to deliver.
And Felix, sent off on his debut, returned from suspension to give the visitors an early lead from a cross by £107m man Enzo Fernandez.
But when you buy and sell so many players, one or two of those who get away are going to bite you on the bum every now and then.
And it was ex-Stamford Bridge left back Emerson who equalised on another frustrating day for Blues boss Graham Potter and his new owners.

Soucek thought he had stolen all three points for the Hammers when he forced the ball home after Kepa Arrizabalaga had saved Rice’s header.
But the Hammers captain was offside from Emerson’s delivery.
Nevertheless it was another disappointing day for big-spending Chelsea as they failed to take a grip of a humdrum game.
Potter has now overseen a run of just two wins in 13 Premier League games.

His free-spending bosses will be starting to wonder why.
While West Ham were unchanged and could name only eight substitutes, including two keepers, Chelsea flexed their moneybags muscles.
Felix was among five of their eight January signings to start the game.
The loan star had the ball in the net inside nine minutes but had was ruled offside from the initial through ball.
But seven minutes later, £107m man Enzo Fernandez sent in a cross, Felix was onside and then calmly volleyed into the net – although Mykhailo Mudryk seemed to have fouled Jarrod Bowen in the build-up.
The £88m Ukrainian almost provided a more conventional assist, only for Kai Havertz also to be offside before taking the ball round Lukasz Fabianksi.
West Ham had offered next to nothing until Michail Antonio’s backheel from a Bowen cross forced a save from Kepa Arrizabalaga.
But suddenly they equalised. This time Bowen nodded on a Vlad Coufal cross and Emerson stole in at the back post to finish from close range.
The London Stadium woke up from its lunchtime doze, for a few minutes at least.
Noni Madueke had already looked dangerous on his full debut for Chelsea and a trademark burst and shot brought the best out of Fabianski.
At the other end, Thiago Silva found the legs to catch a breaking Said Benrahma, then a Bowen error led to another counter-attack that Mudryk and Fernandez wasted between them.
The chances kept coming, with Felix hitting a free kick that Fabianski flung himself to his left to push away.
The second half followed the same pattern – a lot of mediocrity, punctuated by odd moments of excitement.
When a Fabianski throw sent Bowen off on a promising break, his attempted pass to Antonio was intercepted. Declan Rice hit a shot wide.
Chelsea were also struggling, although Antonio’s touch on a Reece James free kick sent the ball only just past Fabianski’s left-hand post.
The game needed something to liven it up and the managers tried, with five substitutions between them with a quarter of the match to go.
On came the Chelsea “old guard” – Mason Mount, Ben Chilwell and wantaway winger Hakim Ziyech.
News that Marc Cucurella was coming off was greeted first by cheers from the visiting fans, and then by boos aimed at him specifically.
Danny Ings, back sooner than expected from the injury suffered on his Hammers’ debut, replaced Antonio.
Chilwell had a great chance to make an immediate impact but delayed his shot long enough for Nayef Aguerd to block it.
Mount burst into the penalty area only for his cross to be kicked away by Fabianski.
Soucek thought he had won it with seven minutes to go, but his joy was shortlived.

He suffered a nightmare debut for Chelsea as he was red carded at Fulham and was subsequently issued a three-match ban.
However, the Portuguese ace was back in Graham Potter’s line-up for Saturday’s lunchtime clash with the Hammers.
And he needed less than 20 minutes to make an impact.
Felix had already had one disallowed for offside when he pounced again in the 16th minute – and this time it stood.

Britain’s most-expensive footballer Enzo Fernandez whipped in an inch-perfect ball towards the back post.
And Felix crept in through the defence to volley it past Lucasz Fabianski to officially get up-and-running for Graham Potter’s side.
VAR was once again called in to verify the strike, but this time it was all good as the officials gave it the green light.
However, West Ham fans were fuming as they believed another Chelsea new boy – Mykhailo Mudryk – should have been penalised in the build-up.

The Ukrainian slid in on West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, and as the Hammers ace went to ground complaining, his supporters were disgusted not to see a foul given.
One fan wrote: “Mudryk fouls Bowen????? Lmaoooo how was that not checked.”
Another tweeted: “So no foul by Mudryk on Bowen in the build up then?”
While another fumed: “How’s that not a foul on Jarrod Bowen? Got ball but Mudryk studs were up…”
Fortunately for West Ham they were celebrating just moments later as David Moyes’ side drew level.
Vladimir Coufal whipped in a great cross that was flicked on by Bowen.
The ball bounced past Michail Antonio, but ex-Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri was on hand to poke it home at the far post.
Emerson initially refused to celebrate against his old club – before then performing two different celebrations to perplex supporters. More

The pair knew each other well from their time together at Borussia Dortmund.
And it was hoped that ex-Arsenal captain Aubameyang could be the man to fire Tuchel’s side to silverware.

He has since made 106 appearances for the Blues, scoring five times.
The veteran defender played a big role in helping Chelsea win the Champions League during his first season at the club.
Silva’s experience has been invaluable at Stamford Bridge, with the Brazilian having captained his side four times in the Premier League this term.
Despite his advancing years he remains a key player for his country – having earned 113 caps for the Selecao.
Silva will turn 40 in September 2024, just two months after his new Chelsea deal will expire.
Since Todd Boehly’s arrival in West London, the Blues have recruited centre-backs Wesley Fofana, Kalidou Koulibaly and Benoit Badiashile at a combined cost totalling over £130million.
But Silva is still one of the first names on Graham Potter’s team sheet.

“But over the years to come, Chelsea has got a bigger chance of winning trophies and being in the Champions League, this is where Spurs have struggled.

“Joao Felix is also not worth the reported £124million fee Atletico Madrid are asking for at this moment in time.
“He might be getting there, I do rate him as a player, but he hasn’t played a lot of football, even for Atletico Madrid.
“That also means that they don’t rate him, so they can’t ask £124million for him.”
Chelsea splashed out £9m to loan Felix until the end of the season.

The star has tasted Champions League success in West London but he has struggled for regular action.
And this term he has been restricted to 21 outings, most from the bench, and just one goal.
Chelsea’s record January transfer outlay led to them bringing in EIGHT new players in.
They include a whopping £107m upfront with a potential further £4m to follow in add-ons to Benfica for Enzo Fernandez.
