      Chelsea and Newcastle in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia transfer blow with Napoli winger set to stay put

      CHELSEA and Newcastle will miss out on Kvaratskhelia with Napoli determined to keep him, according to reports. The 22-year-old Georgian star had been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Newcastle being tipped as a possible destination.

      Kvaratskhelia was also linked with Chelsea towards the end of last year.
      However, as interest grows from Real Madrid and PSG, the Serie A leaders are ready to act fast.
      According to Calciomercato, Napoli are prepared to hand the player a substantial pay rise that would see him earn £2.6m per season.
      The club would only consider his departure if they receive an offer, including a transfer fee, of more than £100m.

      Since signing for Napoli for £8.8 million last summer, Kvaratskhelia has scored 14 goals and provided 15 assists in 30 games across all competitions.
      Along with striker Victor Osimhen, the young winger has Napoli on the verge of their first Serie A title since Diego Maradona was in Naples.

      In fact, he’s the first player – ever – to achieve both 10 goals and 10 assists, in his inaugural Italian season.
      Only four players have been more productive in Europe’s top five leagues this season: Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Osimhen.

      Italian journalist Gianluca DiMarzio also reported: “I don’t think Kvaratskhelia can leave Napoli. He has only been there for one season and it is really unlikely that the club will sell him”.
      He added that if Osimhen, whose contract expires in June 2025, leaves, then they “do not need to sell Kvaratskhelia”.
      Osimhen leaving Napoli is a real possibility, with Manchester United the favourites to take him.
      Playing in the Champions League is likely to be a priority for the young star.
      With Newcastle in the race for the top four, and Chelsea sitting 10th in the Premier League, it seems that he should stay put. More

      MANCHESTER UNITED are favourites to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen, according to reports.United are in the market for a new striker this summer.

      And Osimhen fits their criteria after scoring 25 goals in 29 games this season, including four in the Champions League.
      The Red Devils are leading the race to sign the striker, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
      But the transfer guru claims it could take a Premier League record fee for United to get their man.
      Napoli are reportedly willing to sell Osimhen for a fee in the region of £115-£130million.

      That is a little more than the £107m Chelsea paid to sign Enzo Fernandez in January, which set a new Prem record.
      Di Marzio also reports Paris Saint-Germain could make a move for Osimhen.
      They would likely be able to afford the Nigerian, as would Chelsea who have also been linked.
      Osimhen says he dreams of playing in the Premier League at some stage.

      However, it appears PSG could be set to leapfrog the competition during the international break.
      It is believed transfer guru Luis Campos has arranged a meeting with Osimhen’s representatives.

      The youngster has made early strikes a specialty of his and he managed to also catch Cardiff cold with a belter in the FA Cup back in January.
      Leeds will need Gnonto at his best when the Premier League enters its final stretch next month.

      West Ham announced on Thursday they will be going on tour to Australia to tune up for the next campaign.
      The picture they used to advertise the tour included Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Nayef Aguerd.
      But the noticeable omission of club captain Rice has left fans convinced he will not be at the club in the summer.
      One fan wrote: “Haha admin knows Rice is off and won’t be featuring in the tour 🤣.”

      It was reported by Bild last week that Steidten left Leverkusen in order to pursue a new challenge next season.
      He is said to have left with immediate effect in order to avoid a potential conflict of interest in any future transfers.
      The Blues have been linked with Steidten in the past.
