The 19-year-old has burst through the ranks at the Spanish team, establishing himself as Xavi Hernandez’s first-choice left-back, ahead of more seasoned campaigners like Jordi Alba.
The teen has even made it into the Spanish national team, impressing with his performances on the international stage.
The Catalans have been hard at work to try and renew Balde’s contract until 2027, with talks reportedly going well with his agent, Jorge Mendes.
Mendes allegedly wants Barça to hand the teen a contract that reflects his performance, possibly with a salary that equals that of Pedri or Ansu Fati, who renewed last year.

However, the Barcelona youngster has also been rumoured to be a target for the Blues as the summer window approaches.
While both Balde and his representative want him to continue at Barcelona, Mendes reportedly warned the Spanish team that there are other competitors in the race for the teen.
According to SPORT, Chelsea are understood to be the most interested in the young star, having previously looked at signing him in 2019.
The Premier League heavyweights are rumoured to be unhappy with their left-back options, Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella.

After being signed from Leicester City for £50m, Chilwell has suffered with injury over the last two seasons, and has only now begun to find his form in matches.
The full-back has also emerged as a transfer target for rival team Manchester City, as a replacement for Joao Cancelo after his falling out with manager Pep Guardiola.
Last year Chelsea manager Graham Potter picked up left-back Cucurella from Brighton with a £60m deal, but the Spaniard initially struggled to settle into the team amid personal problems, and was even booed by his own supporters during one match.
Chilwell’s absences and Cucurella’s struggles have likely led the Blues to look elsewhere for a top-level specialist on the field, and Balde would fit the bill.
And having previously spent large sums in securing these players, Blues owner Todd Boehly would be unlikely to balk at forking out on Balde if needed.
Balde publicly left his future open a few weeks ago, giving Chelsea hope that they might be able to snatch him from Barcelona.

Tuchel, 49, guided Chelsea to Champions League glory in 2021, and also enjoyed domestic success with Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain.
He has been out of work since being sacked by new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly in September – a decision which infuriated supporters at the time as he was replaced by Graham Potter.
Now he has revealed the true extent of how brutal his departure was from the West London club after losing 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League group stages.
Tuchel, who also guided the Blues to UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup success as well as reaching the FA Cup and Carabao Cup finals last season, said: “It was a shock.

“I felt it, strangely, when I drove to the training centre. The meeting we had felt unusual – and it turned out to be a very short meeting. It was 8am, or something, and it lasted three to five minutes. I was also not in the mood to talk longer.
“The decision had been made and, honestly, it was a shock for all of us. We had a feeling that we were in the right spot at the right time. We felt that we could achieve big things and we wanted to stay longer – it was as simple as that.
“We had big relationships, huge relationships within the staff. We still do. How long did it take me to get over? It still hurts in a way – I’m not able to see these people on a daily basis. I love this job: I have a passion for it, I can tell you.
“We built an extraordinary bond in the circumstances. We started there during Covid, during Brexit – then came the change of ownership. We were a strong, strong group. It wasn’t in my hands to take this decision. I was no longer part of this group, a group that felt like a family.”

When asked about rumours that he had lost the dressing-room, he replied: “I still have a good bond with the players. We still text, there are many messages. I have found many friends at the Chelsea training centre.
“This will not end because of a new job. It will be difficult to keep in touch and see each other but the friendships will stay.”
Upon reading the comments from Tuchel, Chelsea fans quickly took to Twitter to vent their fury at how he was treated.
One wrote: “Shabby way to treat him after all he won at the club. Now look at them. Glad he’s landed a massive job. Onwards.”
Another said: “The biggest mistake was ever in Chelsea history was the sacking of Thomas Tuchel.”
A fellow fan commented: “Biggest mistake of the Boehly era…so far. Much love Tuchs.”
As another tweeted: “We fumbled this one.” More

Onana, 26, joined Inter on a free transfer from Ajax last summer.
The former Cameroon international, who was sent home from the World Cup for disciplinary reasons, has made 28 appearances in all competitions after battling Inter icon Samir Handanovic for the No1 jersey.
But Onana could soon be on the move to England, with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming Chelsea and United are interested.
The Blues are ready to sell Edouard Mendy this summer, and still harbour some doubts over Kepa Arrizabalaga’s capabilities as first-choice goalie.

As for United, they could lose David De Gea on a free transfer as both parties struggle to agree a new deal.
And Inter are thought to want £35million to sell Onana, who had an on-field fight with teammate Edin Dzeko last month.
However, Chelsea are ready to offer up several stars in exchange for a cheaper fee.
Romelu Lukaku is already at Inter on loan, and the Blues could pave the way for a second season by landing Onana.

Inter have also shown concrete interest in Trevoh Chalobah, who has dropped down the rankings under Graham Potter.
And the Italians also fancy the look of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang — ideally on a free transfer.
As a result, Chelsea are said to be edging United in the Onana race.
But the stopper played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax.
And that could sway things in United’s favour should they make a formal approach. More

Fuming Chelsea ‘looking to sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Inter Milan’ in ‘anti-Barcelona’ transfer

CHELSEA are reportedly plotting to offload Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Inter Milan and in doing so blocking a return to Barcelona. The striker is out of favour at Stamford Bridge after his summer transfer unravelled within months of his arrival.

Reports in recent days have indicated that the 33-year-old is keen on moving back to Barcelona after his brief but successful spell at the Nou Camp last year.
But Fichajes report that Chelsea have “anger” towards Aubameyang for flirting with Barcelona and are unhappy over the “disaster” that the signing has become.
The outlet adds that Inter Milan are interested in the star but he is holding out while the option of Barca remains possible.
The Catalan club are reported to still be keen on him after his stunning mid-season impact last year when he scored 11 goals in 17 league games.

The former Gabon international was in Spain before the international break as he joined former teammates to openly celebrate Barcelona’s crucial El Clasico win over Real Madrid earlier this month.
It was the latest sign of the breakdown in relationship between the player and the club.
Aubameyang’s Blues career had initially shown promise as he scored a blinding goal away at Crystal Palace and netted in both Champions League group stage games against AC Milan.
But the forward fell rapidly from the pecking order despite goalscoring being a consistent issue for Graham Potter’s side.

However, it now appears Chelsea have shown their hand in terms of what they want if they are to sell him.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea have set a £70million price tag on Mount.
This is despite the 24-year-old entering the final year of his deal this summer.

The report states interest from Liverpool is thought to be “serious”, while Thomas Tuchel could lobby Bayern chiefs into pushing for a move.
Tuchel and Mount enjoyed a good working relationship while at Chelsea together.
This included Mount setting up Kai Havertz’s winning goal in the Champions League final under Tuchel and Mount’s best output for goals and assists in a single season in his career so far.
Indeed, SunSport took a look at how Bayern may line up after Tuchel has got his hands on some of his own players in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham fans all say the same thing as Chelsea star Mason Mount emerges as ambitious transfer target

TOTTENHAM fans have mocked reports of their club being interested in Chelsea star Mason Mount.Mount, 24, is no closer to agreeing a new deal to commit his long-term future to the Blues.

His contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire in 2024.
And he has been linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs including Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United.
But according to The Athletic, Tottenham are the latest team to emerge as an interested party.
Spurs are understood to have been monitoring the England man since last summer.

But Lilywhites supporters do not believe Mount – who has 36 international caps – would consider a move across the city to Chelsea’s London rivals.
Reacting on social media, one person said: “As if he’d come here 😂.”
Another replied: “Like that is ever going to happen.”
A third simply responded: “Complete non-starter.”

And a fourth pointed out: “Can get [James] Maddison for less money and wages.”
Mount, a product of Chelsea’s academy system, has contributed 33 goals and 37 assists in 192 games for the club.
But just nine goal contributions in 32 matches this season have called into question his importance to the Blues moving forward.
Bayern are emerging as an option for the Englishman, particularly after hiring Thomas Tuchel as their head coach – a manager Mount thrived under and won the Champions League with in West London.
And it could work out for the German champions as Chelsea may well prefer to sell him to a foreign club rather than an English rival.
But a Premier League move is also a possibility, with Liverpool thought to be leading the race among the domestic clubs.
Jurgen Klopp is keen to re-energise his midfield in the summer as Jordan Henderson and Thiago move deeper into their 30s. More

Despite only agreeing a professional contract in October, the Seagulls are now preparing fresh terms to ward off any interest.
Ferguson’s form since making the step up to the first team has caught the eye of the Premier League’s big clubs.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea all tried to nab Ferguson ahead of Brighton when he made the move over from Bohemians in Ireland two years ago.
And their interest has not gone away thanks to his seven goals and three assists in 16 senior appearances this season.

Tottenham have also been linked with a move for the Republic of Ireland international, who scored on his first start for Stephen Kelly’s side against Latvia last week.
Despite the interest, Ferguson is keen to continue his growth at The Amex following a flying start under Italian boss Roberto De Zerbi, who has been full of praise for the young striker.

Earlier this month, De Zerbi said: “He is unique for us in terms of quality, in terms of characteristic.
“He knows very well the way to score. I think he can and he has to improve, in the quality of play, in ball possession, to keep the ball better.

“But he is 18 and he will improve for sure, because I know the guy, I know his passion, his attitude. I have no doubt.”
Ferguson would be the latest in a host of Brighton stars to commit to new deals this season.
Moises Caicedo, Solly March, Alexis Mac Allister and Adam Lallana have all agreed contract extensions since De Zerbi’s arrival last year.
And Japan international Kaoru Mitoma could soon be due one as well. More
