Chelsea’s are keen on avoiding having any top stars with less than two years left on their contracts.
And Chilwell is poised to put pen to paper on a new four-year deal, according to The Athletic.
That will see his contract run up until the summer of 2027.
It also wards off reported interest from Premier League champions Manchester City.

Reports earlier this year claimed City are long-time admirers of the left-back.
However, Chilwell is now poised to commit his long-term future to the Blues.
Chilwell joined the club in a £50million deal from Leicester in 2020, winning the Champions League in his first season at Stamford Bridge.
A long-term knee injury restricted him to just seven Premier League appearances last season.

Chilwell then missed the World Cup with England due to a hamstring problem.
But he is now back fit and firing and has impressed in what has been a poor campaign for the Blues.
He has started seven out of the last eight Prem games, scoring two goals and providing four assists in 25 appearances in all competitions so far this season. More

Chelsea and Liverpool ‘target one of Serie A’s strongest players in £44m transfer with Inter Milan ace allowed to leave’

CHELSEA and Liverpool are set to target Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella with the Italian giants prepared to sell for £44million, according to reports. The former Cagliari midfielder joined Inter on an initial loan deal in 2019 with an obligation to buy at the end of that season.

The Italian international has made 127 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals but is being linked with a move to the Premier League.
Italian outlet Calciomercato have reported that Inter would allow one of Serie A’s strongest players to leave but not for less than 50 million euros.
The report adds that only at this price would Inter consider selling Barella with strong interest in the midfielder coming from the Premier League – particularly Chelsea and Liverpool.
The Blues are enduring a torrid campaign and are looking to strengthen their midfield options in the summer despite splashing out a British record fee on Enzo Fernandez in January.

The Blues sold Jorginho to Arsenal in the winter and still haven’t agreed a new deal with N’Golo Kante – whose contract expires at the end of the season.
Chelsea have been linked with moves for multiple midfield players including West Ham’s Declan Rice and Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.
Liverpool are looking to revamp their midfield in the summer and have been strongly linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham but face stiff competition from Europe’s top sides.
Whomever the six-time European champions decide to bring in, improving the midfield will be vital as they look to rebuild next season following a very disappointing campaign to date.

Bellingham isn’t the only name Jurgen Klopp’s side hold interest in with Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Wolves’ Matheus Nunes also being linked with a move to Anfield.
Barella has been in good form for Inter this season making 28 appearances in Serie A, scoring five goals and contributing seven assists. More

Unhappy Chelsea star is sad and lost at club but always the best player for his country, says Leboeuf

He was on the brink of leaving for PSG in January before paperwork issues wrecked the move.
Now he remains on the fringes of the Chelsea squad after another underwhelming season.
Leboeuf, who played as a defender for the club between 1996 and 2001, thinks the Moroccan’s time is up.
When asked who should leave Chelsea, he told ESPN: “Well, definitely Ziyech. The guy is not happy, and he wants to work.

“Every time he plays for Morocco, he’s the best player in the world, and every time he plays for Chelsea, he feels sad and lost.
“So I wish him to go somewhere else where he can show to the world he’s still the Ziyech that we have seen when he played for Ajax.”
The 30-year-old has been left out of the Chelsea matchday squad over the last four matches, which included games managed by Graham Potter, Bruno Salter and Frank Lampard.
His last appearance for the Blues saw him briefly sent off before having his red card by VAR rescinded during a chaotic few minutes against Tottenham in February.

Ziyech has made 18 appearances in all competitions but only has one assist to show for his efforts.
But he did appear to be back to his usual silky self during the World Cup as Morocco won fans from across the globe with their stunning run to the semi-finals.
He has not been helped at club level by Chelsea’s generally bad form with the Blues enduring one of their poorest seasons in the modern era.
Ziyech’s attempt to jump ship in January fell apart in the final minutes of the window as PSG took aim at Chelsea’s “shambolic” handling of the botched transfer. More

The midfielder has attracted immense interest from some of Europe’s heaviest hitters, such as Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and the Reds.
Hamann claims the England international isn’t used to criticism as he suggested he gets treated favourably at Dortmund.
However, the ex-Germany international insists that won’t be the case at a bigger club.
The former City star added that the 19-year-old will have to learn how to help at the back and move forward in order to take his game to the next level.

Hamann told Sky Sports: “What Bellingham doesn’t have is discipline.
“He may want to return to the island [England] or Real Madrid. He has to play differently.
“At Dortmund he can do what he wants. Nobody dares to say anything.
“Because they’re afraid of upsetting him. If you have that as a team-mate, you’ll have a problem.
