But the West Londoners’ fortunes haven’t improved since the arrival of the club’s record goalscorer in the dugout as he lost both of his first two matches in charge against Wolves and Real Madrid.
Manchester United legend Keane thinks Lamps is lucky to get yet another big opportunity in management after a disappointing spell at Everton.
The Sky Sports pundit also doesn’t expect Chelsea to make it to the top four in the Premier League, let alone win the Champions League.
Keane told The Overlap: “Good luck to him. The way thing has changed in football, the manager is under a lot of pressure now.

“A lot of clubs are looking for managers until the end of the season. Listen, good luck to him.
“I’m not bothered, but…. They’ve got some excellent players, but obviously something is missing at the moment.
“Even in the last couple of performances, they’re not finding a way to win.
“I look at the personality of a team when all the stats are positive in terms of possession and chances created, but they haven’t got that nastiness that some of the Chelsea teams have had over the last few years.

“Frank is a lucky boy. Frank has had some really good jobs, you need some luck in the game, but to go back in there?
“Do I see Chelsea going on to win the Champions League or kicking on to get into the top four? I can’t see it.
“Listen, it’s a mad game we’re involved with and they do have some quality players.
“Because they’ve brought so many players in it does take some time to gel, I don’t think they’ve got that team spirit and unity at this moment in time…

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea have conteacted the representatives of three goalkeepers ahead of the summer transfer window.
Brentford’s David Raya, Inter Milan’s Andre Onana and Borussia Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel are apparently the trio the Blues are looking at.
Reports in Georgia suggest Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is also of interest.
Current options Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy may find themselves being booted from the team with the Blues likely to assess their options in goal at the end of this season.
    READ MORE ON CHELSEA
Mendy was the preferred keeper under manager Thomas Tuchel, with the Senegalese keeper going on to win the Champions League, taking over from a flagging Kepa.
However, Kepa overtook Mendy as the No1 earlier this season, and didn’t have much competition as Mendy has had to recover from a broken finger.
But the Spaniard’s form has been inconsistent of late, with mistakes allowing Real Madrid to score twice in their Champions League tie on Wednesday.
According to reports, there is a feeling that Kepa may not be worth his £190,000-a-week salary, and if a good offer comes in then Chelsea may well let him go.

There has also reportedly been a breakdown in contract negotiations between Chelsea and Mendy, who has two years left with the team.
He wants to match Kepa’s wages, but the club seem reluctant to grant him that much.

His performances have given rise to interest from both Man City and Liverpool, who are poised to pounce this summer, according to the Evening Standard.
Chelsea’s struggles this season mean the club could face financial difficulty due to missing out on the Champions League and a massive loss in Premier League prize money.
This could consequently lead to a fire sale of stars to ensure the Blues do not breach Financial Fair Play rules.
And 20-year-old Colwill could be the perfect sale to solve this issue as City and the Reds look to freshen up their back line.

Guardiola in particular seems to have taken a liking to him, suggesting Brighton are the best team in the world at building up from the back, something left-footed Colwill is a key component of.
Chelsea fans rushed to social media to share their thoughts on the report.
Many fans were adamant the club would be mad to sell.
One said: “DO NOT SELL THIS GUY AND GIVE HIM A NEW CONTRACT TILL 2030. We should’ve renewed his contract last year before sending him on loan.”

The Standard’s report did also suggest fresh terms were set to be discussed between himself and Chelsea, with his current deal set to expire in 2025.
A second fan added: “Levi Colwill is the best young centre-back in world football. There is always going to be interest for him.
“Let’s just hope that Chelsea are able to keep him, because losing him would be a massive loss.”
While a third commented: “This club have made a lot of mistakes over the last few years but this would undoubtedly be the worst mistake it’s ever made if we allow him to go to Liverpool or Man City. Need to keep Colwill at all costs.”
Others set their eye-watering asking prices for Colwill.
One said: “£150m easy money,” before a second declared: “75m for Liverpool [and] 45m + Foden and Chilwell swap for Man City🤙.”

Chelsea reportedly want to sign Barcelona star GaviCredit: Reuters
Gavi, 18, is one of the most sought-after talents in Europe after breaking into the Catalonian giants’ first team.
Chelsea are willing to do whatever it takes to get him to Stamford Bridge, with AS claiming that the club will “break the bank” to sign him.
The outlet also suggested that the player’s representatives have been in talks with the London club and co-owner Todd Boehly and that it has yielded positive results.
The report does say that Gavi has always preferred the idea of staying at Barcelona, which means the Blues will have to change his mind.

He only recently signed a new contract at the Nou Camp, keeping him at the club until 2026.
However, the Catalan giants are unable to register him as a first-team player due to financial problems.
If the issue is not resolved then the midfielder could leave on a free transfer at the end of the season as his contract will be void.
For Gavi to stay at the club, he would have to either reduce his wage demands or players will have to be sold to make room in the wage budget.

Chelsea ‘set for EIGHT-MAN transfer firesale with Mount and Kante’s futures at risk’ as they look to balance books

Incredibly, those figures do not take into account the West Londoners splashing out more than £600million on players this season.
Struggling Chelsea also look set to miss out on European football next term with the club way down in 11th in the Premier League and needing to overturn a 2-0 deficit against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final.
That has prompted a Stamford Bridge panic with pressure mounting on new owner Todd Boehly to cut the losses or risk Financial Fair Play sanctions.
Now the Mirror state eight players are on the chopping block ahead of the transfer window reopening at the end of the season.

That includes midfield stars Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic and out-of-contract N’Golo Kante who would leave for free.
Academy graduates Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are also named as part of the culling.

Forwards Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could all be axed, too.
Kante’s deal expires in the summer and he was thought to be close to penning a three-year extension.

However, this latest news could see the 32-year-old – Chelsea’s third-highest earner on £290,000 per week – walk away as a free agent as Arsenal consider a swoop.
Mount, Kovacic, Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek and Aubameyang will all go into the final 12 months of their contracts this summer.
Gallagher and Ziyech, meanwhile, are tied down until 2025.
Manchester United and Liverpool are tracking Mount’s situation while Manchester City and Bayern Munich could battle it out for Kovacic.
Chelsea blocked Gallagher joining Everton for £45m in the summer and Merseyside rivals Liverpool could launch a shock bid this year.
Loftus-Cheek reportedly held talks with AC Milan over a £25m move while Pulisic’s Stamford Bridge spell appears to be nearing its end.
Ziyech was set to go to PSG on loan in January but a deal collapsed – however, he is expected to be let go especially given how many new attackers have joined this season.
Aubameyang’s time at Chelsea has been rather disastrous and the outcasted striker, snubbed by ex-boss Graham Potter, could join Inter Milan or even return to Barcelona.

Chelsea went on to lose the first leg of the quarter-final 2-0 and it got even worse as Ben Chilwell was sent off and will miss the second leg.
But fans are even more upset with the result as it appears the second goal could have been avoided if the players were more alert.
In the clip posted on social media, Reece James has his back to the ball and Wesley Fofana appears to be reading a note handed to him by one of the substitutes.
And the club’s supporters have slammed them online.
