We live by Premier League stadium – they want to spend £2bn making us homeless but we’ve taken huge step to fight it

CHELSEA’s £2billion stadium revamp has been put on hold after old soldiers declared war on the plan that could leave them homeless.Club bosses need to buy a £50million plot next to the stadium to develop and extend the Stamford Bridge site.

But the land includes the historic Sir Oswald Stoll Mansions where around 100 military veterans and war widows live – and many are battling to stay put.
Fuming vets have now applied for an injunction to stop the Stoll charity trustees who run the block from selling it.
Documents seen by The Sun state that the sale “will diminish the local community and harm residents, many of whom are vulnerable and all of whom have served their country.”
Stoll resident Geoffrey Reed applied to Wandsworth County Court for an injunction to remain in place until the trustees have shown they have properly “discharged their duties.”

The legal block is a major blow to American tycoon Todd Boehly’s ambitious plans to transform The Blues’ west London home.
Military pensioners living at the 1.2-acre site in Fulham said they would refuse to leave if given their marching orders.
One of the youngest army veterans, Matthew Bignell, 36, said: “People here won’t leave. They’ll have to be taken to court and get eviction notices.
“I’m in a position where I can physically and financially afford to leave but I probably won’t to show support for the other tenants.”

The two-acre site backs onto Stamford Bridge and the deal would pave the way for a full-scale rebuild of the ground, boosting capacity from 42,000 to 55,000.
The Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation, set up to support veterans returning from the First World War, provides ex-service men and women, and their spouses, with a home.
Most of the tenants are over the age of 60, with some claiming they won’t be able to physically manage moving out.
Colin Tiso, 57, suffers such severe PTSD from his time fighting in the first Gulf War he can’t leave his one-bed flat.
He previously told The Sun: “Because of my PTSD I struggle to leave my flat and I’m getting treatment for that. My anxiety is overwhelming. Whenever I get the newsletters with information about the plans I completely shut down. For me as an army veteran I’m scared.
“Leaving the flat terrifies me. If I can’t leave the flat then moving is going to be traumatic.”
The veterans’ planning block creates a new headache for the tycoon after moves to relocate the club’s stadium to Battersea were red carded by angry fans.
The news comes after owner Todd Boehly submitted plans to the council to erect two giant lion sculptures outside Stamford Bridge.
His proposal would cost around £2million, with the lions replicating those displayed on the club badge.
It is understood that Chelsea would prefer to renovate Stamford Bridge, rather than relocating to a new site.

Chelsea ruthlessly trolled with fans excited to see Goal of the Month ‘from TRAINING’ after horror results

CHELSEA are facing severe ridicule as they haven’t scored a single goal ALL MONTH.The Blues tried to turn things around this summer following a disastrous season that saw them finishing 12th in the Premier League table.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has seen his side failing to score this monthCredit: AFP
The West Londoners’ new owner Todd Boehly started out by hiring Mauricio Pochettino as the new manager and then splashed over £300million in the summer.
That included a Premier League record £115m swoop for Moises Caicedo, which helped take Boehly’s total spending to a staggering £1BILLION since taking over last summer.
However, that hasn’t done much good for Chelsea who are still languishing in the Prem as they are 14th in the table with three losses and only one win in six matches.
To make matters worse, Pochettino’s pricey side hasn’t registered a single goal in the English top flight during the month of September.

So far, the Blues have lost with a score of 1-0 to Nottingham Forest and then drew 0-0 at Bournemouth.
Things got even worse earlier today when Chelsea lost 1-0 to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge following Ollie Watkins’ winner.
That means the West Londoners have nothing to show for Goal of the Month.
And fans took to social media to troll Pochettino’s misfiring side with some claiming they will have to release training footage for the award.

Chelsea will have one final opportunity on Wednesday when they host Brighton in the Carabao Cup.
One fan tweeted: “Chelsea’s goal of the month will be from training.”
Another commented: “Chelsea’s goal of the month is gonna be from the u23s because the senior team hasn’t scored.”
A third posted: “Chelsea’s goal of the month has to be picked from the ones they conceded because they haven’t scored any in 30 calendar days.”
This fan said: “Chelsea in September: Chelsea 0-1 Nottm Forest, Bournemouth 0-0 Chelsea, Chelsea 0-1 Aston Villa.
“If they don’t score against Brighton on Wednesday, they won’t be able to run a Goal of the Month competition.”
And that one wrote: “Chelsea’s goal of the month is just gonna be ‘Thank you for watching’.” More

Chelsea star Malo Gusto SENT OFF for horror tackle on Aston Villa’s Lucas Digne adding to Pochettino headache

CHELSEA star Malo Gusto was shown a straight red for a dangerous foul on Aston Villa Lucas Digne as Mauricio Pochettino’s woes continue. The Blues suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Villans at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

He was shown a red card for after a VAR check on this foul on Lucas Digne
The two sides battled out a goalless first half but Mauricio Pochettino’s men suffered a crushing blow moments after the restart.
With just over ten minutes gone in the second period, the 20-year-old right wing-back was given his marching orders.
The French full-back flew into a tackle on his compatriot Digne near the touchline.
The referee gave the free-kick and initially booked the former Lyon man.

However, he was then asked to review the incident by VAR – and upon further inspection he upgraded the caution from a yellow to a straight red.
And around quarter of an hour later things went from bad to worse for the West London club as Ollie Watkins grabbed the only goal of the game.
His likely three-match ban will add a further headache to boss Pochettino.
Summer signing Christopher Nkunku is already sidelined for Chelsea until at least December with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, they have a number of absences already at the back.
Club captain Reece James is another absentee, while centre-half Wesley Fofana is recovering from anterior cruciate ligament surgery.
And they are joined on the sidelines by fellow defender Trevoh Chalobah and midfield duo Romeo Lavia and Carney Chukwuemeka.
The upcoming suspension comes as a bitter blow to Gusto as he looks to try and cement his place as a first-team regular.
He was signed for £31m back in January on a deal until 2030 but he was instantly loaned back to Lyon for the rest of the campaign.
Gusto linked up with Chelsea this summer and made his debut in August in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool.
He has gone on to make a further six appearances, including today, since then.
However, he now looks likely to be hit with a three-game ban.
That would rule him out of the Premier League clashes against Fulham, Burnley and Arsenal. More

Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson BANNED after picking up fifth yellow card in just six games – and all have been for dissent

NICOLAS JACKSON has ruled himself out of Chelsea’s next game – following five yellow cards for repeated offences. The striker was shown yellow at Stamford Bridge against Aston Villa, his fifth of the season.

It means he faces a one-match ban but remarkably every yellow he has received this season has been due to dissent.
Chelsea fans hit out at the naivety shown from the 22-year-old summer signing from Villarreal.
One said: “Yeah Jackson showing his age here, misses next game already all for dissent.”
Another added: “Jackson’s customary dissent yellow card. Misses next game..”

One fumed: “Nicolas Jackson again with a disciplinary issue. All yellow cards this season are all due to dissent..”
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino revealed he had actually spoken to Jackson about his discipline along with Enzo Fernandez.
Pochettino said: “I talked to him today. We were talking about that. We had a meeting with him and Enzo.
“I said ‘come on, for a striker to have four yellow cards, to protest…to talk with the referee.

“You need to get some yellow cards for different actions not because of that. It’s so easy, so cheap.
“I think he could put the team in a really difficult situation (if it continues). He understood.
“But Jackson is 22, he is young, he needs to learn, to improve. He is going to be a fantastic player, but he needs time.”
Jackson will be joined on the sidelines by team-mate Malo Gusto, who was sent off following a VAR check for his studs up tackle.
And ten-men Chelsea suffered further misery after Ollie Watkins opener on 73 minutes was enough to separate the sides.

Chelsea fans fume ‘do the rules just get thrown in the BIN when we play’ after referee blunder

CHELSEA players, Mauricio Pochettino and fans were left fuming after referee Jarred Gillett seemingly blew a minute early for half-time against Aston Villa.Fourth official Simon Hooper had signalled that three minutes extra should have been played in an action-packed first half.

Chelsea fans had already been frustrated with perceived time wasting from the away side and were even more incensed when the whistle went early.
Australian referee Jarred Gillett blew the whistle before even two added minutes had even been played – leading to a huge chorus of boos around the ground in west London.
Multiple Chelsea players went to speak with Gillett, while Blues boss Poch walking halfway across the pitch and could be seen speaking all the way back into the tunnel and beyond.
Twitter account CFCDaily summed up the feelings of many Chelsea fans, writing: “Do the rules just get thrown in the bin when Chelsea games get played?

“Villa players constantly surrounding the referee & now blows up the whistle 65 seconds early of his own added time.”
The game was 0-0 at half-time with Nicolas Jackson wasting a decent chance and Chelsea keeper Sanchez making two incredible saves from Lucas Digne and Nicola Zainolo.
However, things went from bad to worse for Chelsea as Malo Gusto was sent off just before the hour for a high tackle, with Gillett again becoming the target for Chelsea fan anger.
The referee checked the VAR monitor before brandishing a straight red card to the defender.

With the Blues down to ten men Aston Villa smelt the blood of a team low on confidence.
Robert Sanchez had already made two world-class saves but could do nothing when Villa pounced on an uncharacteristic Thiago Silva error and broke forward with Ollie Watkins.
Watkins drove into the box and fired a brilliant low effort across goal and into the bottom corner, scoring the only goal of a 1-0 win.
Down to 10 men there was little Chelsea could do to mount a comeback, the home side looking devoid of confidence and struggling to create anything clear-cut.
Their best chance fell to Ben Chilwell just moments after Villa had scored, but the defender – who had an age to pick a spot – fired a team effort to Emi Martinez’s near-post.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side slipped to a third defeat in six and a third game without finding the net.
To make matters worse Nicolas Jackson – who had been warned by Poch over his discipline earlier this week – picked up yet another silly yellow card for blocking a Martinez clearance.
That was Jackson’s fifth yellow card in six games and means he is banned for the game against Fulham a week on Monday. More
