Bayern Munich stars ‘believe Callum Hudson-Odoi could complete season-long loan transfer from Chelsea in next two weeks’

BAYERN MUNICH stars are reportedly hopeful of finally welcoming Callum Hudson-Odoi to the Bundesliga champions.
The Chelsea winger remains a fringe player at Stamford Bridge despite signing a £120,000-a-week contract last year.

That new deal came amid serious interest from Bayern when Hudson-Odoi was only just graduating from the Stamford Bridge academy.
But their interest has been rekindled in recent weeks, according to the Telegraph, and they may have gained hope after claims the youngster wants showdown talks with Frank Lampard about his future.
It is said that the Munich dressing room eagerly awaits the teenager and expect a bid in the coming weeks.
A loan proposal is considered most likely with this autumn’s transfer deadline set for October 5.

The Bavarian giants may not be the only club to try and tempt Hudson-Odoi, 19, away from West London.
Juventus and RB Leipzig are also reportedly tracking the star, although the latter may struggle to pay his wages.
Earlier in the month, it was suggested that Frank Lampard may sanction a loan exit after the arrival of Kai Havertz.
Hudson-Odoi has only featured in ten minutes of Chelsea’s opening Premier League fixtures.

Having been promised more game time when rejecting Bayern, the winger has been largely used off the bench by both Lampard and predecessor Maurizio Sarri.
Only 17 of his 49 appearances for the Blues in league and Europe have come as a starter.
Bayern may be able to afford greater prominence to Hudson-Odoi after losing Ivan Perisic and Philippe Coutinho in the summer.
Both wide men returned to their clubs after finishing their loan spells at the Champions League winners, who signed Leroy Sane from Manchester City for £54.8million.

Kepa and Christensen’s costly errors highlight Frank Lampard’s need to strengthen Chelsea’s backline in transfer window

CHELSEA have made a number of quality attacking signings this window.
And as exciting as that is for the fans and the club, one could argue that to compete at the top level Frank Lampard needs to add further reinforcements at the back.

    2

Kepa and Andreas Christensen were both at fault for Chelsea in the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool

There is just two weeks remaining in the transfer window, and Chelsea are rumoured to be dipping into the market to add a goalkeeper and another defensive player.
The Liverpool match on Sunday afternoon only reiterated the need for reinforcements.
Andreas Christensen had an absolute nightmare and effectively lost the game for Chelsea right before half time.
The Dane was caught on his heels reacting to a through ball and proceeded to man handle Sadio Mane to stop him getting through on goal.

Christensen was deservedly sent off as a result.
He wasn’t helped by his goalkeeper rushing way out of his goal when he had no chance of getting to the ball, only forcing Christensen to make the awful challenge even more.
Chelsea went on to lose the game 2-0 in another frustrating afternoon for Lampard & Co.
This was yet another very poor game from Kepa between the sticks, and Lampard must surely know now more than ever just how badly he needs another keeper, and defender.

    2

Christensen wasn’t helped by Kepa rushing way out of his goal

Edouard Mendy of Rennes is close to joining Chelsea.
And there will be a desperate hope from fans that he can be the man to come in and fix a large number of problems as the last line of defence for the Blues.
But that should not be the end to Chelsea’s spending.
They have been linked with signing Jose Gimenez from Atletico Madrid, as well as Declan Rice from West Ham.
Both would be excellent additions to come in and strengthen the backline, which they clearly still need to do.

Rice is seen as a centre-back by Lampard, according to reports – you can’t help but feel that Chelsea’s current crop is just not good enough.
Antonio Rudiger was left out the squad entirely today, and Fikayo Tomori has been linked to a loan move away as well.
Christensen has been nothing short of inconsistent, and Kurt Zouma has been the only decent performing centre back.
Thiago Silva has arrived and he will make a huge difference, but I cannot help thinking that he alone will not fix Chelsea’s evident problems at the back.

Chelsea player ratings: Kepa hits all time low with another blunder but Timo Werner emerges as Blues brightest spark

CHELSEA fell victim to individual errors as league champions Liverpool left Stamford Bridge with all three points.
Andreas Christensen dragged down Sadio Mane just on the stroke of half-time before being sent off.

Chelsea fell victim to individual errors as league champions Liverpool left Stamford Bridge with all three points

Mane would strike twice but again keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was at fault as his pass was intercepted by the forward, who tapped into an empty net.
Here is how Simon Phillips rated Chelsea’s performers as they lost their opening home game of the season.
    Kepa Arrizabalaga – 4/10
It was a usual unsteady performance in the sticks from Kepa, who also played a part in Christensen’s sending off by rushing. Very poor showing once again.
    Reece James – 6
James was very quiet and was restricted by Liverpool’s high press and always struggled to deal with Mane.

    Kurt Zouma – 7
Zouma was solid throughout the majority of the game and worked hard again.

    5

Kepa hit an all time low with yet another blunder
    Andreas Christensen – 4
The Dane was having a great game up until the 44th minute, when he made a ridiculous challenge on Sadio Mane, who was through on goal, and was deservedly sent off.
    Marcos Alonso – 6
He was always going to struggle against the pace of Mo Salah and despite a few good moments, he was very average.
    Jorginho – 5
Not a great game from Jorginho, who did the basics but not much else. He missed a poor penalty as well.

    5

Andreas Christensen was sent off for Chelsea
    N’Golo Kante – 8
Kante was decent carrying the ball but always unsure when he got into attacking positions.
But it was another tireless showing from Kante who was everywhere on the pitch.
    Mateo Kovacic – 8
Chelsea’s best press-resistant player and he was great at carrying the ball and threatened with a few through passes as well.
    Kai Havertz – 5
The new boy started the game as a centre forward and again, he just didn’t look comfortable up there.
He was put out of his misery at half time when Fikayo Tomori replaced him to cover Christensen.

    5

Kai Havertz started the game as a centre forward but was subbed off at half-time with Chelsea down to ten men
    Mason Mount – 6
Chased around a lot and full of energy as usual, but didn’t really bring much to the table.
He had a better second half and almost scored with a long range shot.
    Timo Werner – 9 (MOTM)
Chelsea’s brightest attack spark once again and his pace threatened Liverpool.
He got through a few times and won a second half penalty for Chelsea that was missed by Jorginho.

    5

Timo Werner was Chelsea’s brightest attack spark once again and his pace threatened Liverpool
    Subs
HT – Fikayo Tomori on for Havertz – 6
Tomori did the basics but as Chelsea were down to ten men he was constantly under the cosh.

Chelsea signing Kai Havertz out to kick Liverpool’s ass after campaigning against cruelty to donkeys

KAI HAVERTZ loves donkeys and has campaigned against cruelty to animals.
But on the pitch he is aiming to kick ass like childhood hero and former Chelsea star Michael Ballack.

    4

Kai Havertz loves donkeys and has campaigned against cruelty to animals

Havertz has already rescued or sponsored a number of donkeys but that is just the start.
The Blues’ £62million summer signing said: “From my first years, my favourite animal was always the donkey.
“It was always a dream for me some day to have one.
“It’s a good opportunity to help save donkeys from the butcher or the circus or things like that.

“It will be a big project for me in the next few years.
“I think animals are very important for us, for the world, and I do my best for them to have a better life.
“Of course, football is, for me, very important. But to be honest, there are many more important things in life than football.”
Havertz plays the piano to relax and comes across as not your average 21-year-old.

    4

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard with Havertz in training

In choosing to leave Bayer Leverkusen for the Premier League and Chelsea, rather than join Bayern Munich like so many top young German stars do, he has also broken the mould.
Havertz said: “Of course, it’s a very big step. But I like to do things that not everybody will do.
“For me it’s very exciting to learn another league and to learn another culture.
“The career is not that long, maybe ten to 15 years, and I try to have a new goal.
“My goal was to play in the Premier League and I am very thankful I am here.”
Chelsea fans once more have the personal touch of Frank Lampard to thank for the club’s success in beating the likes of Manchester United to Havertz’s signature.
As was the case with his fellow German international Timo Werner, Havertz was impressed by Lampard’s enthusiasm — although his childhood affinity for Chelsea meant the boss did not have to sell the club too hard.

    4

Havertz is aiming to kick ass like childhood hero and former Chelsea star Michael Ballack

    4

Ballack during a visit to Chelsea’s training ground
Havertz said: “Of course the coach has a big impact on my decision.
“For me, it was always important that a club comes to me or my agent and says, ‘You are the player and we want you and we’ll do everything for you, so please come to us’.
“That was the first thing that I had in mind when I signed for a new club. For me, Chelsea is the perfect club.
“Of course, we had in the last years some conversations with other clubs as well and I think that’s normal.
“But in the end Chelsea give me everything.
“I’ve loved Chelsea my whole life. I always watched the team as a kid so it was not a very tough decision for me.
“It’s a big project here. I love to play with young players as well.
“Maybe it needs a few games to play good football but I’m looking forward to it.
“I’ve been here for just seven days. I think it will be good in the next few weeks and months.”

Chelsea fans will hope Havertz can match or exceed the achievements of Ballack, who won a Premier League title, three FA Cups and a League Cup while at Stamford Bridge.
It is little wonder that Ballack is one of Havertz’s idols.
The former Germany captain also played for Leverkusen before moving to Bayern, then Chelsea and then back to Leverkusen in the year when Havertz joined the club’s youth set-up.
In playing style, they are cut from the same cloth — what the Germans call an ‘Alleskonner’, a player who can do everything.
Havertz said: “Michael Ballack was always a hero when I was younger.
“I liked him as a player very much. He played in my position.
“He was a midfield player who wanted to score many, many goals.
“I try to score goals like him. He was always a very big player for me.”

“My goal was to play in the Premier League and I am very thankful I am here.
    Kai Havertz

But another of Havertz’s childhood heroes did not have such a happy time in the Premier League.
Big Dutch striker Erik Meijer moved from Leverkusen to Liverpool in 1999 but failed to make his mark.
After a loan spell at Preston, Meijer returned to Germany for a late renaissance.
Havertz, who was born in the cathedral city of Aachen, said: “Erik Meijer was one of my idols as a kid because he played for Alemannia Aachen.
“I think I was at every home game with my father and brother.
“He was always the hero and star in the team. He scored very many goals. I liked him as a player.
“He was a very good striker. He played in my childhood team so it was very nice to see him play.
“I know he played for Liverpool but I think I made the right decision to play for Chelsea.”
This afternoon Havertz will try to show the Premier League champions just what they missed out on — by making asses out of them. More

Chelsea fans go wild as Petr Cech takes Kepa’s training session as supporters call for Lampard to start iconic stopper

PETR CECH popped up in Chelsea training this week – leading to fans dreaming of the Czech legend’s return.

In preparation for the Stamford Bridge clash, former Blues No1 Cech showed up at Cobham.
The 38-year-old holds the role of technical and performance advisor to Frank Lampard’s team.
And he insisted the Spaniard, 25, will come good in West London after failing to impress following a world record move.
Cech told Sport.CZ last month: “Kepa struggled last season, that is unquestionable.

“But the club invested in him and gave him a long-term contract because they believe he has the qualities and attributes to be successful.”
Chelsea fans were excited to see Cech, complete with trademark helmet, lend a hand to Kepa ahead of Mendy’s £27million arrival.
Although some hoped the four-time title winner would step in for the huge game versus Liverpool.
Twitter user Kofi commented: “Petr Cech Returns.”

    2

Oli posted: “You know what’s coming when Petr Cech decides to take things personal.”
One Blues account wrote: “Goalkeeper for tomorrow sorted.”
While another tweeted: “Petr Cech has been spotted in training! Kepa is 100% winning the Golden Glove this season.”
One fan posted: “It’s good he went down to train Kepa himself. Love that. Kepa will come good soon. Plus the Mendy competition will help.”

Kai Havertz reveals he has ‘always dreamed’ of playing under Frank Lampard as he aims to become Chelsea legend like boss

KAI HAVERTZ revealed playing under manager Frank Lampard at Chelsea is a dream come true.
And the £62million star, 21, wants to become a legend like his boss after making his debut against Brighton on Monday.

Kai Havertz revealed playing under manager Frank Lampard at Chelsea is a dream come trueHe said: “I watched many games of him as a kid.
“He was also like the way I play as a midfielder — to go in the box, score goals and make assists.
“I loved him as a player. I was dreaming as a kid to play in the Premier League and for Chelsea as well.
“I’ve always dreamed of playing in a league like that and that dream came true very early.”

And the former Bayer Leverkusen ace insists he feels no pressure to live up to his hefty transfer fee.
He added: ”Of course it’s a big price tag but I think in football today it is normal to pay these prices.
“So for me I will not put a lot of pressure on myself because I think I’m not doing the worst things in the past – that’s why the price tag was high.”

Chelsea new boys Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell train ahead of Liverpool clash as Klopp has his say on Lampard rivalry

Chelsea were handed a squad boost as new arrival Silva, 35, took part in training having linked up with the squad for the first time.
He joined on a free transfer from PSG, but has only just joined his new team-mates having been on holiday in the Italian island of Sardinia.
The Brazilian was given an extended break after his Champions League final loss against Bayern Munich at the end of August.
Chilwell, 23, on the other hand will be made to wait for his Chelsea debut.

The left-back, who arrived from Leicester for £50million, missed the end of last season with Leicester due to a heel problem.
He has been training on his own at Cobham as he bids to recover from the injury.
His last game for the Foxes was a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on July 4, where he was substituted off at half-time.
He was, though, able to pass his medical and seal the switch to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea were beaten 5-3 by Liverpool only two months ago – a game in which Frank Lampard clashed with Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool coaching staff.
Tension between the managers was further intensified after Klopp aimed a dig at the Blues’ £200m summer spending spree.
Lampard fired back by pointing out Liverpool’s past spending, leading to suggestions a rivalry was building between the pair.
But Klopp told Sky Sports News: “Between Frank and me there is absolutely nothing – I admired him and loved him as a player and now he is doing a really good job as a coach.
“So I can’t help you with some ‘rivalry’ between us, we will obviously be rivals on Sunday but apart from that it’s all good.
“We are different clubs, leading in a different way, that’s how it is – we invest what we earn and sometimes we invest before we earn but it’s still based on these kind of things and it’s not like this for other clubs.
“Whatever they do though I am completely fine with that – they can all do what they want and it’s a free world. We have our way of dealing with the club.”

Chelsea outcast Emerson Palmieri ‘wanted by West Ham and Inter Milan’ with full-back eyeing transfer exit

WEST HAM have joined Inter Milan in the race for Emerson Palmieri, according to reports.
The Italy international has played 55 times for Chelsea since a 2018 move from Roma – but was nowhere to be seen in Monday’s season opening win at Brighton.

Ben Chilwell’s arrival at Stamford Bridge has dropped Emerson back to being the third-choice left-back in Frank Lampard’s pecking order.
And The Independent report on West Ham and Inter carefully monitoring his situation.
Antonio Conte’s Inter have been linked with Emerson over a number of transfer windows.
Last month, reports in Italy suggested the player had already accepted personal terms to move back to Serie A.

However Inter focused their efforts on completing a deal for fellow full-back Aleksandar Kolarov.
The deal for the 34-year-old is not thought to have halted their interest in Emerson, 26.
Instead, they are reportedly keen to open talks over a loan switch with a permanent transfer costing in the region of £23million.
West Ham’s interest comes amid Chelsea’s own desires on Hammers star Declan Rice.

A possible players-plus-cash deal involving the pair has been touted but David Moyes is determined to hold on to the homegrown midfielder.
Bolstering the defence is understood to be key for the West Ham boss in the final month of the window, amid reports of rejected bids for Burnley’s James Tarkowski.
The club will be desperate to secure some incomings after the much-criticised sale of Grady Diangana to West Brom for an initial £13million.
