THOMAS TUCHEL has given an update on the future of Chelsea stars Romelu Lukaku and Andreas Christensen.Lukaku, 28, has been forced to play second fiddle to Kai Havertz over recent months as his form has significantly dropped off.

It comes after his future was thrown into question towards the end of 2021 when he did an interview where he fuelled reports of a return to Inter Milan.
However, Chelsea cannot currently sign or sell any players due to the restrictions placed upon owner Roman Abramovich.
And Blues boss Tuchel highlighted this when quizzed about Lukaku’s future at Stamford Bridge – although he did admit his position in the squad is not where he wants it to be.

“Romelu still plays a big part. Maybe not the part he wants to play.
“I feel him very motivated. He’s a winner, and he will stay a winner, and stay important for us.”
Meanwhile, earlier this month Barcelona president Joan Laporta all but confirmed that Christensen will join them on a free transfer at the end of the season.
And Tuchel did not deny those rumours as the club prepare for the Dane to depart.

Werner arrived in England as a goalscoring machine having banged in 28 goals in 34 Bundesliga games during the 2019-20 campaign.
But he disappointed in his first season in the Premier League after finding the back of the net just six times from 35 outings.
And he has scored just once in the top-flight this term from 14 matches with Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz tasked with leading the line over him.
His poor form has led to speculation that he could leave Chelsea to return to Germany.

To which Babbel, who has also urged Serge Gnabry to not swap Bayern for Arsenal, said: “Chelsea’s a difficult place – even Lukaku isn’t playing!
“It’s strange as both players are fantastic. Timo is a goal scorer, and he needs 100 per cent belief from the coach in his style of football.

Bergomi, who was also capped 81 times by Italy while lifting the 1982 World Cup, says if he was in charge at Inter, he would immediately get a deal in place to bring Lukaku back.
Bergomi believes the ex-Man Utd forward was Serie A’s best forward by a mile.
And Bergomi claims Inter boss Simone Inzaghi, who only got to work with Lukaku for 10 days before the hitman’s move to Chelsea, told him that the Belgian was the best striker he had ever worked with.
