      Outgoing owner Roman Abramovich is believed to require £2.5bn and Sir Jim has blown that figure out of the water as he aims to bring some of the world’s best players.
      The chairman of Ineos added that this is a true “British bid, for a British club” and wants to invest in the growth of the stadium, squad as well as the academy.

      They are backed by the True Blues, a fan-led group involving Chelsea legend John Terry who want to buy ten per cent of the club.
      But The Telegraph report Pagliuca has been informed he is not the preferred bidder.
      Each bidder was told this week they would need to stump up an extra £500m.
      Ratcliffe – who made his billions in petrochemicals – was linked with taking over Chelsea in 2019.
      But he decided against it at the time because the stadium redevelopment plans would take too long to resolve.

      That will be added to his £7.6m basic pay per season, which works out as a net weekly wage of £145,000.
      Together, that will earn Rudiger £37m across the four seasons, around £9m less than his initial demands before he agreed to lower them.
      By comparison, the 29-year-old turned down a contract extension at Chelsea worth £200,000 per week before the club were hit with sanctions preventing any new deals from being signed.

      But Die-hard United supporters who did attend were pictured holding banners reading ‘Glazers Out’ before kick-off.
      Thousands more were pictured outside the ground as the continued their protests against the club’s owner following their huge demonstration before the Norwich clash earlier this month.
      They were also heard chanting they want the American owners out during the first half, with ‘We want Glazers Out’ and ‘Stand up if you hate the Glazers’ ringing around the stadium.
      The Red Devils are experiencing a shocking campaign despite a busy summer transfer window that saw them signing stars like Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane – as well as legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
