Callum Hudson-Odoi transfer exit a possibility before deadline day, admits Chelsea boss Frank Lampard

FRANK LAMPARD admitted he cannot say for certain that Callum Hudson-Odoi will not make a deadline-beating move to Bayern Munich.
The Chelsea chief insists Hudson-Odoi, who made his first Prem start of the season in yesterday’s 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, is a key part of his plans.

Yet Bayern also declared their interest in the England attacker and are desperate to sign him.
Hudson-Odoi, 19, only signed a five-year deal at the Blues 12 months ago and Lampard will hold talks with him before tomorrow’s deadline.
Lampard said: “There is no definitive answer — by Monday we will know the answer.
“Bayern might have declared their interest, which is one thing, but Callum is absolutely part of my plans.

“What Callum wants comes into consideration.
“He is our player and everything has to be right for everyone.
“Callum showed what we wanted, especially in the second half when he was more aggressive, took on the full-back and got crosses in.”
Bayern were linked with Hudson-Odoi before he agreed to his long-term contract with Chelsea.

And they remain big fans, with boss Hansi Flick hailing the Chelsea attacker as ‘one of the biggest talents’.
Quizzed over Hudson-Odoi in a press conference, Flick said: “I don’t know what will happen.
“But he is one of the biggest talents in his position. So it is normal that a club like Bayern deals with him.”

Callum Hudson-Odoi transfer chase hots up as ‘Chelsea reject Bayern Munich’s loan bid with £70m option to buy’

CHELSEA have reportedly rejected a £70million loan-to-buy offer from Bayern Munich for Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The England international is a target for the Champions League winners, who want the 19-year-old winger before Monday’s transfer deadline.

    2

But the Daily Mail claim that the Blues rejected the move, which hasn’t deterred the Bavarians.
They say the Bundesliga giants will return with another bid before the transfer window closes on Monday.
Hudson-Odoi starred for Chelsea in their comprehensive 4-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

And manager Frank Lampard revealed the club didn’t want to send the talent out on loan and hoped the teenager would stay.
However, he confessed that they would have to take Hudson-Odoi’s feelings into account.
Lampard said: “There is no definitive answer.
“By Monday we’ll know the definitive answer. If Bayern have declared their interest that’s one thing. But everything that happens on Monday will be what is good for the club, because Callum’s our player.

“Also what Callum wants will come into consideration.
“At the minute I want Callum part of my squad, particularly when he’s offering up what he offered up in the second half and when he came on against West Brom.”
Hudson-Odoi has been linked with a move to Bayern since 2019, and manager Hansi Flick has made no secret of his admiration for the exciting player.
Flick revealed: “He is one of the greatest talents in that position.

“He can play wide and as a No.10 so it’s entirely legitimate that we at Bayern Munich are interested in him.”
After signing a new contract last year, Hudson-Odoi suffered a serious Achilles injury.
And competition for places became fierce this summer when Chelsea added Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner, who can all play in the wide positions.

Chelsea player ratings: Mendy and Chilwell prove shrewd purchases but Werner continues to struggle

CHELSEA cruised to an easy 4-0 victory against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge in what was their first Premier League win in three weeks.
Ben Chilwell opened the scoring with a fierce drive early in the second half, before he set up Kurt Zouma who doubled the Blues’ lead with a fine header.

Jorginho then helped himself to two goals from the penalty spot to wrap up the three points in West London.
Here’s how SunSport rated and slated the Chelsea players.
    Edouard Mendy – 9
He was not troubled at all by Crystal Palace in the first half.
He was a bit busier in the second half and made a couple of good saves and he fore fronted Chelsea’s first Premier League clean sheet of the season.

    Cesar Azpilicueta – 6
The captain did the basics fine, but didn’t bring enough in the attacking third. Got a bit better in the second half and effected things more.
Showed leadership as he stopped Tammy Abraham from snatching spot-kick duties away from designated penalty taker Jorginho for the fourth goal.
    Thiago Silva – 7
He did his job well and was naturally very cool and calm on the ball, still looks to be settling in at Stamford Bridge.
    Kurt Zouma – 8
Game after game Kurt Zouma is putting in consistently good performances in a Chelsea shirt and today was no different, another solid showing from him.

He even got on the score sheet with a lovely header in the second half.

    Ben Chilwell – 9
An assured showing from the new left back, always comfortable on the ball and tried to maintain a threat going forward.
He scored Chelsea’s first and set up the second, great performance. Chelsea star man.
    N’Golo Kante – 7
A typically energetic performance from Kante who was all over the park once again, breaking up play and even offering a threat going forward.
    Jorginho – 8
A much better game from the Italian international and he managed to pick out some good passes, including a great over the top ball for Tammy Abraham who got unlucky.
He also converted two second half penalties to get himself on the score sheet.

    Kai Havertz – 9
Chelsea’s biggest creative spark, always looking to advance with the ball and he worked tirelessly tracking back as well.
A fantastic game for the German international.
    Callum Hudson-Odoi – 8
A few good moves from Hudson-Odoi as he looked to make things happen.
He started to come alive even more in the second half and got a lot braver with his effective creativity.
    Timo Werner – 6
Another reasonably quiet time in the first half for Werner who didn’t really offer much from out wide and will always be more comfortable playing centrally.

    Tammy Abraham – 6
Poor display from Abraham in the first half as he struggled to be a threat.
He livened up in the second half and won a penalty for Chelsea’s third goal.
Embarrassed himself by trying to take duties away from Jorginho for the second penalty.

How Chelsea could line up vs Crystal Palace with Pulisic back from injury and Mendy set to start in goal

CHELSEA will be desperate to return to winning ways when they entertain Crystal Palace on Saturday.
And the game could feature the Premier League debut of new keeper Edouard Mendy.

    3

Cheslea could line up like this for their game against Crystal Palace

The Senegal international impressed between the sticks despite Chelsea losing to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
He is almost certain to get the gloves, with boss Frank Lampard seemingly at the end of his tether with blunder keeper Kepa.
Christian Pulisic is back in the frame for the game, but will only make the bench at best as he is eased back from injury.
The Blues were 3-0 down in their last Premier League fixture away at West Brom, but managed to somehow snatch a 3-3 draw.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and club captain Cesar Azpilicueta were two players brought off the bench to rescue the situation.
And both performed well enough to give themselves a great chance of starting the Palace game.
Lampard’s big decision could be whether to play Tammy Abraham or Timo Werner up top.
If Abraham gets the nod it could mean a move out wide for the £52m German signing from RB Leipzig.

One player who almost certainly looks likely to miss out this weekend is Marcos Alonso.
The left-back was hauled off at half-time against Albion, and it was revealed he went to watch the second half in the team bus.
Lampard was fuming and made him come back and sit on the bench. He then gave the Spaniard a dressing down in front of his team-mates after the game.
And Ross Barkley definitely won’t feature – at least for Chelsea this weekend.

The 26-year-old midfielder joined Aston Villa on loan for the rest of the season.
The arrival of Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech threatened to leave the ace out of Blues boss Lampard’s plans — with the postponed Euros looming.
Midfielder Barkley said: “The last couple of years I’ve been stop-start, performing well and then being out of the team. To come here and have the chance to play  regularly is a big thing for me.
“The Euros at the end of season is a big target, hopefully I can be there.
“Dean Smith swayed me with the way he spoke to me,  it looks like it’s going to be an exciting season.”

Cole won the title and Champions League, as well as four FA Cups.
Chelsea’s new £50million defender Chilwell wants to follow in the footsteps of his illustrious predecessor having signed from Leicester in August.
Chilwell said: “Seeing the career that he had here, obviously I wanted to emulate that, and still do.
“To have someone like that who has played for Chelsea, who’s English, it was important for me.

“I spoke to my agent because I was quite keen on getting to meet him.
“I just wanted to get to know him and pick his brains on what he thought of Chelsea as a club, how he reached the success that he reached here.
“I was quite keen to have that chat to find out things like that.
“Obviously I’m going to work as hard as I can over the next however many years to try and emulate what he’s done here.”

On what Cole told him, Chilwell simply claimed: “He just said: ‘Work hard’.
“I know it sounds pretty cliched, but he said the fans love players here who just want to work hard and who want to die for the badge.
“He said when he first came here he wanted to win for the club, he loved playing for Chelsea.
“And he said if I can take that on board, wanting to really love the club and to win for it, then I should have a great career here.”

As well as facing the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, United must also take on German giants RB Leipzig if they are to progress to the knockout stages.
Solskjaer’s side will also face Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir in the 2020-21 Group of Death, with United falling to Group H thanks to a broadcasting rule involving Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Chelsea were given one of the easier groups, facing Sevilla in Group E.
However, Frank Lampard’s side must endure a long trip to Russian side Krasnodar, while also facing Champions League debutants Rennes.

Liverpool – the 2019 Champions League winners – take on Ajax in Group D.
The Premier League champions will also face exciting Serie A side Atalanta and Midtjylland, in the Danish side’s first-ever Champions League campaign.
Manchester City, still desperately chasing their first Champions League crown, sit in a reasonably simple-looking Group C.

Pep Guardiola’s squad will need to battle past Porto, Olympiacos and Marseille to reach the knockout stages.

Chelsea ace Callum Hudson-Odoi hires £1,500-a-month personal trainer and rents entire pitch to try to win back place

CALLUM HUDSON-ODOI has hired a personal trainer at his own expense to try to force his way into Frank Lampard’s plans.
The Chelsea boss has made repeated demands for the winger to show him the kind of ‘work ethic’ that will see him regain a regular first team spot.

And Hudson-Odoi has taken his manager at his word and is spending £1,500 a month with his own specialised fitness guru.
The winger is also coughing up to rent the entire pitch at a non-league club near his South London home.
Hudson-Odoi, 19, is lifting extra weights, being put through his paces with sprint shuttle runs and working on endurance to boost his stamina to last 90 minutes with ease.
The sessions are all being undertaken in addition to normal training with Chelsea.

They were four times weekly before the season started but are now being whittled down to twice a week to fit in around matches.
Hudson-Odoi has started two of Chelsea’s last three matches and scored once – when he came on as a half-time sub to help rescue his team from 3-0 down at West Brom to grab a draw.
He also played the full 90 minutes of Tuesday’s Carabao Cup defeat at Tottenham which went to penalties.
Chelsea academy graduate Hudson-Odoi faces extra competition for his place this season following the big money signings of Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

Chelsea defender Matt Miazga set for fourth loan transfer in five years after agreeing to join Kompany’s Anderlecht

MATT MIAZGA is reportedly set for his fourth loan spell away from Chelsea as he nears a switch to join Anderlecht.
The 25-year-old is set to become the latest player to depart Stamford Bridge on loan having failed to feature for the Blues in over four years.

    1

Miazga joined the West Londoners from New York Red Bulls in January 2016, where he featured twice before the end of the season.
But he hasn’t appeared for the club since, with the centre-back being shipped off on loan to Vitesse for two years between 2016-2018.
He was then sent out to French outfit Nantes in 2018, before being recalled to go off to Reading in the winter transfer window in 2019.
His loan spell with the Royals was extended for the 2019/20 campaign, where he played in 20 Championship matches.

And he is now poised to be sent out yet again, with Goal stating he has agreed to link up with Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht.
It has been said that the USA international has chose to join the Belgian side after speaking with the Manchester City legend.
Miazga – who still has two years left on his contract with Chelsea – will be looking to help Anderlecht win their first league title since 2017.
The club currently sit fifth in the table table after seven games, having won three three and drawn four.

Anderlecht boss Kompany has been criticised by the club’s supporters since he re-joined the club from the Citizens last year.
And fans were left furious by the 34-year-old earlier this month despite Kompany accepting a 50 per cent pay cut in his salary, as they argued he is still overpaid.
It has been claimed that he will earn £2.7million-a-year in place of his former annual pay packet, believed to be £5.4m.
