Chelsea outcast Lucas Piazon slams club’s loan transfer policy having not played for the Blues since 2012

CHELSEA outcast Lucas Piazon has lashed out at the club for their loan policy.
The Blues have owned the Brazilian striker since 2012 which was the last time he played for the West Londoners’ first team.

Piazon, 26, is currently on loan with Portuguese top flight side Rio Ave.
This is his seventh loan spell since arriving at Chelsea from Sao Paulo in his homeland and the Brazil Under-23 international does not think much of the way the Blues have treated him.
He told Maisfutebol: “After a certain point the connection is no longer beneficial for both parties.

“At first, I felt really good. I went through the U-23s, got to the first team and, even in the first loans, I felt Chelsea had expectations and interest in me.

“I believed I could come back and have opportunities at any time.
“Later, as time passed, I became just another business for them.
“They send me out on loan with the expectation of selling me and making some money with me. I think that’s more or less what they think.”
Before Rio Ave, Pizaon was loaned to Chievo Verona, Fulham, Reading, Eintracht Frankfurt, Vitesse Arnhem, and Malaga.

He has featured twice for Rio Ave so far this season but has failed to score or provide an assist.
It emerged last week Chelsea have 25 players out on loan with a combined value of £121.96million.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek at Fulham, Ross Barkley at Aston Villa and Tiemoue Bakayoko at Napoli are the highest valued stars currently with other teams.

Watch as Chelsea star Jorginho leads Italy squad in singing Oasis’ Wonderwall on guitar at dinner table

JORGINHO led the Italy squad in singing Oasis hit Wonderwall on his guitar during a team dinner.
The Chelsea star, 28, kept his international team-mates entertained while at dinner ahead of their Nations League game with Poland.

Italy beat Moldova 6-0 in a friendly on Wednesday, with Jorginho keen to make sure they stay loose for Sunday’s big game.
The Azzurri then take on Holland on Wednesday in their massive Nations League group A game.
As Jorginho strummed along to Wonderwall on his guitar, the squad – including veteran Giorgio Chiellini – all joined in belting out the words.
Jorginho recently revealed he had got into playing the guitar due to lockdown.

Desperate to keep himself busy while unable to get out, the Italian turned to building a bike and strumming the strings.
Jorginho revealed: “You have to find something else to do to keep yourself busy.
“I, for instance, have assembled my bicycle, and I got my guitar again to play and practise.
“The worst part is that I can more or less play but the singing just doesn’t come off.”

And Jorginho seemed to be without a care in the world with his future all-but sorted.
The Italian was linked with moves to Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain in the summer with Frank Lampard looking to move him on.
However, a move failed to come to fruition, with Jorginho now looking to cling on to his first-team spot.
In his most-recent game, Jorginho scored twice – both from the penalty spot – in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, sparking a row between Cesar Azpilicueta and Tammy Abraham.

Ben Chilwell ruled out of England clash vs Belgium due to non-Covid related illness in blow to Chelsea

BEN CHILWELL will miss England’s game against Belgium through illness.
The Chelsea left-back has only just joined England’s ‘bubble’ after he broke coronavirus guidelines by attending Tammy Abraham’s surprise birthday party at the weekend.

But he is now out of the Three Lions’ next game, with a non-Covid related illness, according to Sky Sports.
After Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden were dropped from this month’s squad for their coronavirus gaffe in Iceland, Southgate chose to delay the arrival of Jadon Sancho, Chilwell and Abraham by a few days.
They were all pictured at Abraham’s surprise bash – which the trio insist they were not warned of the numbers attending
They were all ruled out of the 3-0 friendly win against Wales on Thursday night.

The national team are operating within a coronavirus-safe bubble during a triple header of Wembley matches.
Chilwell, Sancho and Abraham were prevented from entering the bubble after The Sun revealed their 20-person get together, to celebrate the striker turning 23.
The stars have all since apologised for their actions.
And the incident has left Southgate expecting more of his young players.

Southgate said earlier in the week: “At the beginning of the week we had a good meeting and spoke about the responsibility of being an England player and how the spotlight is different.
“I have also talked about the connection of the fans and we have ten with us who were in Russia, they have done good work with their clubs, communities but some of the young ones have not done that and they need to prove themselves.
“They need to remember it is an honour to play for England, we have all made errors, I had nights out as player but we are living in unique times with Covid.”
England’s Nations League group continues this weekend with games at home to Belgium and Denmark.

Chelsea new boy Edouard Mendy INJURED on international duty with Senegal and Kepa in line for shock recall already

CHELSEA outcast Kepa is set for a return to the starting XI after his replacement Edouard Mendy got injured on international duty.
Senegalese stopper Mendy picked up a thigh injury training with his country on Wednesday which could see the Spaniard step back into Frank Lampard’s side.

Former Rennes man Mendy, 28, will miss his country’s upcoming games against Morocco and Mauritania and is reportedly heading back to West London to recover at Cobham.
And if the injury is serious enough to keep him out beyond the international break, Lampard will be forced to choose between reinstating Kepa and giving Willy Caballero a shot.
The £22m man Mendy has impressed in his first two Chelsea games against Tottenham and Crystal Palace and the news will come as a blow to Lampard.

The Blues splashed out a world record fee of £71.5m for Kepa from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 but he has struggled for form since.

He was dropped on several occasions last season but the 26-year-old is refusing to let it get him down.
Speaking on international duty with Spain, he said: “I feel good, strong, and confident.
“Perhaps it is not a dream situation, but during the soccer career sometimes you have to live moments like this.
“I’m confident I can turn it around and do my best when I play.

“We all want to play. But I don’t think about anything beyond the day-to-day life and focusing on the national team’s matches.

“We have three matches and my focus is on them.
“In the life of a footballer there are ups and downs, but in the end what is in my hands is to work.”
It recently emerged Kepa’s FIFA21 ranking has dropped.

Chelsea’s Marina Granovskaia ordered West Ham to pay £50k every time Fikayo Tomori didn’t play in brutal transfer clause

CHELSEA’S fierce negotiator Marina Granovskaia reportedly ordered West Ham to pay the Blues £50,000 every time Fikayo Tomori did not play.
The centre-back pulled out of a late deadline deal loan move to the Hammers after the clubs had agreed the terms of the temporary switch – including the brutal clause.

And it has since emerged revered director Granovskaia negotiated the clause which would bagged Chelsea £50k each time the defender was left out of David Moyes’ team.
The London rivals had agreed on a significant loan fee and the division of wages.
But Tomori, 22, decided at 10:50pm – just TEN minutes before the transfer deadline – he would prefer to stay and fight for a spot at Stamford Bridge.

It was a major late blow to West Ham, who also missed out on three other defensive targets – James Tarkowski, Antonio Rudiger and Duje Ćaleta-Car.

Speaking on his mid-morning TalkSPORT show, Jim White said: “With just minutes to go until the deadline, they [West Ham] thought they had this done.
“They’d struck a deal with Chelsea involving a huge loan fee which had been agreed for Fikayo Tomori.
“It is my understanding West Ham had also agreed to pay Chelsea £50k every time he wasn’t selected to play for West Ham on top of that.
“All done, but just minutes before 11pm, Tomori said he doesn’t want to go.”

Having played under Frank Lampard at Derby, Tomori started off as first-choice defender when the Blues boss first arrived at Stamford Bridge.
But Tomori suddenly faded from his plans – and has featured just once in the Premier League this season, in the 2-0 loss at home to Liverpool.
Tomori played 22 times for Chelsea in all competitions last season but played just ONCE after the turn of the year.
The one-cap England star was also on Everton’s radar this summer.
But Carlo Ancelotti cooled his interest as the Toffees focused on their midfield and attack.

Chelsea had best transfer window in years but failure to offload players may leave Lampard with huge fractured squad

THIS summer’s transfer window was one of the most extraordinary of recent times.
For starters it was longer than it would normally be and ended up carrying over into the start of October due to the global coronavirus pandemic..

    5

Chelsea fans are excited at how far Kai Havertz can go at the clubCredit: Getty Images – Getty

Not only did this play havoc, with the season being delayed, it has also proved devastating to many football clubs struggling with finances as a result.
This made it a different kind of window, with only the top teams being able to spend big.
Whilst it was great for the likes of Chelsea in terms of player arrivals, it really did put a spanner in the works of plans to oust a number of deadwood players.

Upon reflection though, I have to say this has been the best transfer window for Chelsea for many years regardless.

The two major areas of improvement needed have been addressed – the defence, and the ability to create more chances and have more finesse up top.
At the back they have added the giant that is Edouard Mendy, who fits the profile of the dominant goalkeeper that Frank Lampard wanted.
Then in front of him, the world class and experienced Thiago Silva has come in to help solve their leaky defence.
At the opposite end, Kai Havertz is the real star boy who’s arrived. He is perhaps the first player they have signed who will really fill the creative void that Eden Hazard left last summer.

Then we have Timo Werner who will be providing more finesse up top, and Hakim Ziyech to bring even more creativity out wide or centrally.
Another area of weakness was the left back position, and Ben Chilwell coming in as Lampard’s main long-term target for that role really was the cherry on top.
If we wanted to be really fussy we could complain about a lack of a real defensive midfielder arriving, which is also what Lampard wanted.
Declan Rice was his long-term target there, but they will likely now go back in for him in January or in the summer.
This would have made an already brilliant transfer window even better in terms of arrivals, but it’s certainly not a major issue.

    5

It will be a shock to see Marcos Alonso in the blue of Chelsea againCredit: Alamy Live News
Lampard would have much preferred to have sold a number of his fringe players, but due to the current climate it is just impossible to find permanent buyers, and even loan moves failed due to high wages and loan fees.
It was just not a selling window if you wanted to get maximum fees for your players, and this could end up causing problems for Lampard in terms of overall squad morale.
You can’t really blame anyone here; the club want to get the best deals possible, and this means waiting until the next window or next summer.
But you can’t deny the fact that it leaves for a large squad in some areas, and some players could become unhappy not playing at all, which many will have to face up to.

    5

The signing of Edouard Mendy looks to have cast Kepa aside for goodCredit: Reuters
Chelsea have Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri still at the club, that is three left backs who will want to be playing regularly, yet two of them won’t be.
Failing to move Antonio Rudiger on leaves them with five centre backs, which again, is one too many.
This is before even mentioning players such as Danny Drinkwater and Victor Moses, who are still Chelsea players at the time of writing.
To conclude, Chelsea have built themselves a much stronger squad than last season.
It is a squad that really should be challenging the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool to the Premier League title and at the very least will be bringing a domestic trophy in.
