      Ireland star Troy Parrot set for Preston North End loan after signing contract extension with Tottenham Hotspur

      IRELAND striker Troy Parrot is set for a season-long loan with Championship side Preston North End.The loan is set to be announced alongside a contract extension at Spurs for the 20-year-old Dubliner.

      Parrott has played under Antonio Conte during Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season tour.
      Parrott spent last season on-loan at MK Dons, playing 47 times and scoring ten goals in all competitions.
      According to LancsLive, Parrott will complete his switch today after he undergoes a medical.
      Parrott featured during Tottenham’s pre-season tour, however, it was unlikely he was going to be part of the first-team in the Premier League under Antonio Conte this season.
      Spurs already have an impressive front line that includes stars such as Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski.
      The Ireland striker was wanted by several Championship sides, including Sunderland, Queens Park Rangers, Swansea City and Middlesbrough.
      Parrott will join an Irish contingent of Alan Browne, Greg Cunningham, Sean Maguire, and Robbie Brady at Deepdale.
      The Dubliner has made an impression under Stephen Kenny with Ireland, earning 15 caps and scoring four times.
      He had an impressive loan spell with MK Dons last season, playing 47 times and scoring ten in all competitions.
      Parrott scored in Dons’ play-off semi-final second leg, but his side ultimately came up short in securing promotion to the Championship.

      Parrott’s progress has been rewarded with a new deal at Spurs and further time to advance towards being ready to feature in the top flight in the future.
      Having joined the North Londoners from Belvedere at just 15 and risen through the youth ranks, Parrott has been sent out on loan for experience three times.
      His first loan spell was at Milwall in 2020, during which he played 12 times without scoring a goal.
      His second came during that same season, when he scored twice in 18 games for Ipswich, before the aforementioned spell at MK Dons. More

      NINTH-TIER outfit Hallam FC have confirmed the signing of former Watford and Sheffield Wednesday star Daniel Pudil. The 36-year-old will now run out in the Northern Counties East Football League next season after spending the early part of his career playing in the Champions League.

      But Hallam FC boss Craig Denton has revealed his excitement at the signing, despite being unsure of how often Pudil will play.
      The Hallam gaffer told The Star: “He lives locally to Hallam FC and he’s got a family here, he’s settled.
      “The chairman came across him and I managed him in a charity a couple of weeks ago. He just wants somewhere that will allow him to fit into his schedule.
      “He’s a busy guy and he doesn’t want to commit too hard in terms of professional football or anything like that. With him being local he wants to get involved, keep in shape and enjoy himself.”
      He added: “Daniel just wants to play football, enjoy himself and add something to a local football club. In the dressing room, that spreads.
      “How nice is it to share a space with a Czech international who has played for Sheffield Wednesday and Watford and all these clubs?”
