      Dale Stephens reveals he found out about Burnley transfer exit on TWITTER and is training with Brighton to find new club

      FORMER Burnley midfielder Dale Stephens has revealed that he learned of his exit from the club through Twitter.The 33-year-old joined the Clarets in 2020 following a six-year stint with Brighton.

      He was limited to just 15 appearances across all competitions during his time at Turf Moor due to various injury issues, so the club decided against offering him a new deal.
      However, instead of being approached by Burnley officials, Stephens learned of the news through social media.
      When speaking on TalkSPORT’s Sunday Session, he said: “The writing was on the wall in the period I had there.
      “It was disappointing on both sides, I didn’t really see it panning out the way that it did because when I initially went there I was excited for the challenge, but for whatever reason it didn’t work for me or the football club.

      BLACKBURN manager Jon Dahl Tomasson will try to talk Anel Ahmedhodzic into joining him in a £3million swoop.Tomasson worked with the Bosnian centre-half at Malmo and hopes that counts as he fights with Sheffield United for his signature.

      Ahmedhodzic is due to tell the Swedish club he wants to go this week and could be cleared to head for England.
      Tomasson also has the backing of owners Venky’s to finance the deal.

      Trouble had flared in a crowd of 1,451 when a group of young Southport followers strode round to confront fans in the away end.
      A few Blackpool supporters then breached the fences – leading to the home fans fleeing back to their section of the Haig Avenue stadium.
