The moment came when the home side equalised from the spot.

Saints stormed into an early lead when Stuart Armstrong found the back of the net after just two minutes.
Russell Martin’s side dominated the play as they pushed for a second.
But the game was put on hold before half-time after a fan suffered a medical issue in the stands, just days after Leyton Orient vs Lincoln was abandoned after a supporter was taken ill.
Rotherham goalkeeper Viktor Johansson flagged the issue to officials after some initial confusion.

A supporter had fallen down the steps, requiring urgent medical treatment.
The fan collapsed in front of stunned onlookers.
And they were given CPR by medics at the scene before being stretchered away.
Rotherham tweeted: “Our thoughts and well wishes are with the supporter involved.”

Sky Sports reporter Katie Shanahan said on Soccer Saturday: “Really concerning scenes, a medical emergency in the far corner of the stadium just two minutes before the break.
“Viktor Johannson the (Rotherham) keeper was trying to alert the referee to what had happened.
“He carried on the game, but within a minute had to pause to go over to both managers as the corner was about to be taken.
“All the fans were alerted to the far corner of the stadium to see what was going, from where I was going I could see chest compressions and I’ve been told they did perform a second round of CPR on the fan.
“The fan was then stretchered down the stairway to a round of applause from all the supporters. The game was delayed for 10 minutes, but really, really concerning scenes at St. Mary’s.” More

How Leicester are storming the Championship thanks to five reasons including Pep Guardiola’s daring philosophy

LEICESTER head into this weekend’s games two points clear at the top of the Championship.Enzo Maresca’s new-look side have hit the ground running after shaking off the hangover of relegation from the Premier League over the summer.
Enzo Maresca is leading Leicester’s promotion charge thanks to five key reasonsCredit: Getty
His Foxes have equalled the best ever start to a Championship season, since the league was revamped in 2004, taking 27 points from their opening 10 matches.
Indeed there hasn’t been a better start to a Championship season for 23 years, since Jean Tigana’s Fulham hit the ground running with 11 straight victories in 2000.
It is the perfect response to being relegated from the Premier League last season as Leicester look to make an immediate return to the top-flight.
Beaten Preston boss Ryan Lowe was quick to praise Maresca’s Foxes after losing 3-0 to them at the King Power in midweek.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
He claimed Leicester are the best team in the division, describing them as “a Premier League team in the Championship.”
“They have got a player in Dewsbury-Hall who shouldn’t be playing at this level,” he added.
“They have different qualities to most in the Championship.”
Lowe’s words echoed similar comments from fellow rival bosses David Wagner of Norwich City and Blackburn’s Jon Dahl Tomasson, who have already declared Leicester Championship champions elect.

Enzo Maresca is no-one’s fool however and realises this unique division is a marathon, not a sprint.
However our Midlands reporter Graeme Bryce believes there are five reasons why Foxes fans can dare to dream about a speedy return to the Prem next season.

    THE OWNERS
The Srivaddhanaprabha family remain a safe pair of hands, even though they took their eye off the ball during the relegation season.
There was one huge decision to be made during a summer, once they had finished licking their wounds.
Who was the best man to lead them back out of the Championship?
Dean Smith was already in place and it would have been easy to stay loyal to a man, who had an exemplary record in the Championship and had proved he could lead a team into the Premier League.
Instead they made a bold move and opted for a totally new direction of travel.
They placed their faith in Enzo Maresca – a proven number two and Pep Guardiola’s trusted No.2 at Manchester City.
But an unproven manager whose only previous experience as a boss had ended badly, when he was sacked early in his tenure as Parma boss.
Right now that choice is looking an inspired one.
Maresca has picked up world-class coaching tips from Pep GuardiolaCredit: EPA
    THE MANAGER
Enzo Maresca was already on a high after helping Pep Guardiola deliver an historic treble for Manchester City.
But after enjoying a cigar and some bubbly on City’s open top bus, the Italian decided to hop off and strike out on his own.
The early signs are certainly promising and so far, Maresca and Leicester seem well matched.
The Italian has adopted a similar style to the one which swept Guardiola’s City to so much success last season.
At first the fans were suspicious of his high-risk and reward tactics of playing out from the back.
But nine wins from their opening 10 games, plus an encouraging performance against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup have convinced punters Maresca is the real deal.
They have now bought into his philosophy and show a lot more patience while City build patiently from the back.
They are convinced they have the right man in charge to take them straight back up and keep them in the Prem.

    THE GOALKEEPER
Eyebrows were raised when Maresca swept in and splashed out £5million of his limited transfer budget on Brondby goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.
After all, Leicester already had two perfectly acceptable Championship ‘keepers.
Daniel Iversen had done well in the final 12 matches of the Premier League campaign.
The last time he had been in the Championship, a year earlier, he had been named player of the season on loan at Preston.
He faced a challenge from Wales international Danny Ward, another competent Championship ‘keeper.
Other areas of the team needed more investment than the goalkeeping department.
However, Maresca made signing Hermansen from Brondby a priority.
Now Foxes fans can see why.
City have become an 11-man team in possession.
A massive 38 percent of Hermansen’s touches come OUTSIDE his own penalty area!
There has been the odd blip, like the pass which gifted Blackburn Rovers a goal last week.
But Hermansen gets involved far more often – with 53 touches per game on average – compared to Ward’s 38 and Iversen’s 34.
On average, Hermansen’s passes cover 634 progressive yards per match.
That’s double the average of 313 yards for Iversen last season, and way more than Ward’s 403.
The Dane has become as crucial to Maresca’s passing game as Kasper Schmeichel was to Claudio Ranieri’s title winners.
Kids like Callum Doyle have been impressive for the FoxesCredit: Getty
    THE YOUNG GUNS
Mads Hermansen (23), Callum Doyle (20), Cesare Casadei (20), Wanya Madivadua (20), Abdul Fatawu (19), Yunus Akgun (23)  and Kasey McAteer (21).
That’s seven players aged 23 or under who are all playing their part in Leicester’s revival.
At 19, Abdul Fatawu is the youngest of all – and potentially the most exciting of Leicester’s young guns.
Currently on loan from Sporting Clube de Portugal, the Ghanaian kid has already played for his nation at the World Cup in Qatar.
And he was voted the Player of the Year as he helped Ghana win the Under-20 African Cup of Nations.
In goal, Mads Hermansen has been a revelation since he arrived.
While at the other end of the park Kasey McAteer has been a massive hit, scoring four goals in his last six Championship outings, as well as scoring at Anfield in the Carabao Cup.
The future is exciting for the Foxes as Maresca shows he isn’t scared to give youth a fling.
Jamie Vardy is showing age is just a number with a ton of goals for the FoxesCredit: Alamy
    THE OLD BOYS
No team in the Championship can match Leicester for experience at the highest level.
In the heart of his defence, born-again defender Jannick Vestergaard (31) had played in every minute of the Foxes’ league campaign.
But when the former Southampton defender was suspended against Preston in midweek, Maresca had the luxury of being able to call in Conor Coady (30) to make his league debut.
Ricardo Pereira (30) has been a revelation, starting out at right-back and then moving into a holding midfield role once Leicester gain possession.
Ahead of him, Maresca has transformed Wilfred Ndidi (26) from one of the best defensive midfield ball-winners in the Prem, to a goal-scoring No.10.
Beside him in midfield are Harry Winks (27) who makes Leicester tick, just a few years after appearing in a Champions’ League final for Spurs.
Meanwhile Kieran Dewsbury-Hall (25) has been an absolute stand-out and is ripping up the Championship.
But the daddy of them all is Jamie Vardy, who has hit four goals in his last seven games at the ripe old age of 36.
    Read More on The Sun
He has rediscovered the spring in his step in the Championship and his understudy – Kelechi Iheanacho (27) is better than almost every Championship rivals first pick striker.
Maresca has developed a good blend between youth and experience and his squad is brimming with quality his rivals simply can’t match! More

Harry Winks is flying with Leicester in the Championship
And he has already established himself as a key player helping the club top the Championship with nine wins and just one loss from the first 10 games.
The 10-times capped England player said: “I’ve worked for some influential managers and Enzo Maresca is one of the best in terms of ideas, tactics and management.
“He’s excellent and I’m really enjoying working with him. I’ve learned so much, in a footballing way. I feel like I’ve improved a lot in my game as well and I’ve only been here for a couple of months.
“The way he makes you see the game, the scenarios he tells you, the way he almost tells you how the game’s going to go before you go into it, and where the solutions are. It’s just another level of coaching that I haven’t really experienced, and I’m loving it so much.”

When Winks made the drop down in the Championship after years playing at the top level for Tottenham and England, it was seen as something of a coup for the relegated Foxes.
But the midfielder never had any doubt that the drop in level is better for him and the club long-term.
He said: “Before I joined Leicester when I spoke to the owners and the manager, they said there’s a vision and a process and that’s something I am really excited to be a part of.
“I know many other players in the team who are excited as well because it’s exciting moments for the club.

Forgotten ex-Premier League boss Garry Monk ‘in line to replace Andrea Pirlo’ after three years out of work

His last job was with Sheffield Wednesday but he was sacked in November 2020 as the club sat one place above bottom.
And despite not coaching for the last three years, he is a name on the shortlist to take over at Sampdoria, according to SampNews24.
Italian legend Pirlo is under fire with his side 19th in Serie B.
The former midfielder took over at ex-club Juventus in 2020 having coached their Under-23s.

He won the Italian cup with Juve in 2021 but the same year he left after securing a fourth-placed Champions League spot.
Pirlo moved to Turkey Fatih Karagumruk but he lasted just one season.
The 2006 World Cup winner has had an equally torrid time back in Italy with Sampdoria managing just one win in eight.
Sampdoria fans started to protest during the club’s loss to Catanzaro on Sunday.

And after the defeat, Pirlo said: “It’s difficult to comment on these types of defeats after every game. We had taken the lead, then they managed to equalise with a half cross, with defensive indecision.
“Everything becomes more difficult, but we must not look for alibis, we know that this is the moment.

“We must not let our guard down, we must be more concentrated and try to get out of this situation together. We had the opportunities, but in football whoever scores goals wins and we were unable to do so.
“The situation at the moment is this, we must try to stay united and try to get out of it quickly. We must try to be positive and not get caught up in this fear that we see and feel when we play. At the moment we are fragile and cannot win.”

Neil Warnock ‘considers taking charge of club he promised to f*** up so badly if he was ever given manager’s job’

Warnock, 74, is available after leaving Huddersfield last month.
The veteran boss stepped down after the Terriers decided to appoint former Wednesday manager Darren Moore.
According to talkSPORT, Warnock would be open to joining Wednesday, despite his Sheffield United allegiance.
Warnock is a boyhood Blades fan and managed at Bramall Lane between 1999 and 2007.

During his stint he won promotion to the Premier League in 2006.
He infuriated Wednesday fans with comments about their club during an interview with the Guardian in 2002.
Asked if he’d ever consider becoming their manager, Warnock said: “As long as the whole of my massive salary was paid within 28 days, then I would buy so many tosspots – although, come to think of it, their current squad would do – and f*** ’em up so badly.
“Then I’d retire to Cornwall and spend the rest of my life laughing my head off.”

Warnock nearly took over as Wednesday boss in 2013, only for then-chairman Milan Mandaric to abandon the idea due to a fan backlash.
After talks broke down, Warnock told talkSPORT at the time: “We both realised it was not to be. It’s been an interesting week.
“When Milan phoned me originally, I did tell him it would be pretty much impossible to manage Sheffield Wednesday when I’m a Blade, but he asked me to have time to think about it.
“No disrespect to the other candidates, but he wanted me to try and keep them up. He has tried to bring me in as his manager about four times over the last 20 years so I have got a lot of respect for him.
“I have been really pleased about the number of people in Sheffield – Sheffield Wednesday fans as well – that wanted me. But I think it’s time to put myself to bed.
“I spoke to Milan last night and we both realised that it wasn’t the right time. I don’t think it was going to benefit anybody by dragging it on.”
Wednesday are set to host Huddersfield and former boss Moore at Hillsborough this weekend.
The 49-year-old guided the Owls to promotion from League One via the play-offs last season.
He then made a shock departure from Wednesday in mid-June following a difference in “vision” with owner Dejphon Chansiri.
