Watch Liverpool defender Nat Phillips ‘send Zlatan Ibrahimovic into next dimension’ with outrageous Cruyff turn

LIVERPOOL defender Nat Phillips sent social media into meltdown on Tuesday night after bamboozling Zlatan Ibrahimovic with an audacious Cruyff turn. The 24-year-old starred in his first Champions League start of the season as the Reds beat AC Milan 2-1 at the San Siro.

Fikayo Tomori opened the scoring for the Serie A side, but the Merseyside outfit came back from behind to win thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.
The victory saw Liverpool pick up maximum points from their six group stage games, and fans were quick to praise Phillips, who partnered Ibrahima Konate in the heart of defence.
The ex-Stuttgart loanee dazzled supporters with an outrageous piece of skill inside his own box in the 69th minute.
Phillips reacted quickly after Konate intercepted a pass, before calmly performing a Cruyff turn which sent Ibrahimovic and Franck Kessie the wrong way.
Commenting on the incident, one user tweeted: “Just Nat Phillips sending Zlatan Ibrahimovic into the next dimension with a Cruyff turn.”
Another remarked: “Nat Phillips doing Cruyff turns in the San Siro is the content we are here for!”

Man Utd fans love Ralf Rangnick as boss bizarrely sends on No3 keeper Tom Heaton for Red Devils debut vs Young Boys

MANCHESTER UNITED fans were loving Ralf Rangnick after he bizarrely sent No3 goalkeeper Tom Heaton on for his debut against Young Boys. The Red Devils manager made a string of changes with his side already confirming their progression into the Champions League knockout stages as group winners.

And as well as handing debuts to the likes of Robbie Savage’s son Charlie and Zidane Iqbal, Rangnick also ensured it was a special day for Heaton.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper spent eight years on the books at Old Trafford, coming through the youth ranks before six different loan spells away.
But he did not make a senior appearance before joining Cardiff in 2010 and then re-signed for the club this summer.
So with David De Gea rested and the pressure off and the scores level at 1-1, Rangnick replaced Dean Henderson with Heaton on 68 minutes.
And supporters on Twitter appreciated the classy gesture for Heaton’s 378th club appearance of his career – and first for his boyhood club.

Another wrote: “Massive kudos to Ralf Rangnick today, for ‘promoting the youth’ by bringing on 35-year-old Tom Heaton instead of a youth prospect.”
A third added: “Rangnick giving Heaton a chance to play.”
And a final user commented: “Such a lovely gesture from Rangnick. Tom Heaton has been a wonderful servant for every single club he played for.
“To give him the chance to achieve his dream at the club he loves is class and absolutely brilliant.”
And thankfully for three-cap England international Heaton, he did not concede as it ended 1-1 in the final Champions League group game.
Mason Greenwood fired United in front early with a spectacular bicycle kick but Young Boys hit back through Fabian Rieder’s fine strike past Henderson.

Chelsea 0 Juventus 0: Hayes issues player safety call after Kerr is cautioned for pitch invader push

EMMA HAYES wants player safety in the women’s game looked into after a pitch invader disrupted Chelsea’s clash with Juventus.Joe Montemurro steered the Italian aces to a gritty 0-0 draw in the Champions League against his old WSL foe.

But the match was momentarily paused when a male spectator darted onto the grass at Kingsmeadow with Sam Kerr sending him tumbling to the turf.
And the Australia ace was cautioned by the ref for shoulder barging the individual who ran on late in the second half and appeared to be attempting to get a selfie with Magda Eriksson.
Hayes said: “He could have waited until the end to have a photograph if he really wanted one. But jokes aside, we do have to think about player safety.
“We’ve seen with the growth of the game there is this sense of the players being more in demand.
“It should serve as a reminder to us all in our stadiums and with our stewards that we’ve got to put player protection first.”
The scoreless result denied the Blues the win that would have seen them reach the Champions League quarter-finals after five group games played.
But Hayes is confident her side will be able to get the outcome they need to reach the contest’s next stages after their final group stage game.

The Chelsea chief added: “I’m extremely proud of the players playing a game of this magnitude so soon after the FA Cup Final
“We got a point and we’re in the driving seat going into the last game in the position we want to be in.
“We know Wolfsburg is a difficult place to go, but we believe in our ability and we’re confident.“
The Blues flew out of the blocks clocking up 14 first-half shots
Erin Cuthbert forced Pauline Peyraud-Magnin to tip her fierce right-strike over the bar inside the first minute.
Moments later Fran Kirby saw her effort smothered by the France stopper.
One of the best scoring chances fell to Sam Kerr with the forward outmuscling her marker before seeing her 27th minute shot whizz across the goalmouth
Pauline Peyraud-Magnin pulled off some fine stops to keep Chelsea at bayCredit: Reuters
And the Australia ace thought she put the hosts ahead early in the second half only to see her goal ruled offside.
Juventus had a rare foray forward with Lina Hurtig finding space to unleash a tame shot easily claimed by Ann-Katrin Berger in the 66th minute.
And Millie Bright blazed a late shot over the bar much to her annoyance.
Tempers flared late on in the game with Berger getting cautioned after reacting angrily to Barbara Bonansea’s kick on Erin Cuthbert.
And Kerr went into the book after barging the pitch invader.
The game finished 0-0 with Chelsea staying top of Group A with 11 points and Juventus third but level on points with Wolfsburg.
Should Wolfsburg lose to Chelsea and the Serie A leaders beat Servette it would see Juve progress to the competition’s quarters.
Montemurro said: “We did what we had to do to get the point that we needed and it’s great.
Joe Montemurro is targeting a win against Servette in Juve’s last Champions League group stage gameCredit: Getty
“Chelsea are a fantastic team and for them not to be able to score against us shows we’re on the right track
“I’ve always enjoyed going to Kingsmeadow because you’re going to get a top-quality game.
“You’re going to get the level of football that I believe women’s football is at.”

Man Utd fans love Ralf Rangnick as boss bizarrely sends on No3 keeper Tom Heaton, 35, for Red Devils debut vs Young Boys

Fans were delighted with Ralf Rangnick’s classy move in the Champions LeagueCredit: Reuters

And a final user commented: “Such a lovely gesture from Rangnick. Tom Heaton has been a wonderful servant for every single club he played for.
“To give him the chance to achieve his dream at the club he loves is class and absolutely brilliant.”

    MAN UTD 1-1 YOUNG BOYS
Manchester United’s rotated side drew 1-1 with Young Boys at Old Trafford in their final match of the Champions League group stage and are now looking forward to the Last 16.
United opened the scoring after just nine minutes when Luke Shaw’s pinpoint cross out of the left found Mason Greenwood, who beat Guillaume Faivre with a spectacular overhead kick.
But Young Boys fought back and got the equaliserr three minutes before half-time when Donny van de Beek gave the ball away on the edge of the area and Fabien Rieder’s fantastic long curling shot hit Dean Henderson’s top left corner.
Nothing really changed during the second half but interim manager Ralf Rangnick handed out debuts to youngsters Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage as well as veteran Tom Heaton.
Young Boys are out of Europe, while Villarreal and Atalanta’s game was postponed due to heavy snow in Bergamo.

    RANGNICK REACTS
Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick “wouldn’t say” he is happy with the performance and revealed Aaron Wan-Bissaka suffered “two knocks”.
Rangnick told BT Sport: “I was fully aware before the game that this team haven’t played together.
“The first half hour we did okay. We had a few errors but we should have been two or three-nil up. We didn’t score and were a bit sloppy.
“Obviously after we conceded we were not defending high enough and were not proactive, and we could have also conceded two or three. If the final score was 3-3, nobody could have complained.
“Also the good things, quite a few debuts, game time for players who need it. I wouldn’t say I was happy but it was OK.”
“Aaron got two knocks again, one on the wrist another one on the knee. So we have to see how this will develop by Saturday”

But Wan-Bissaka ended up flying into the Old Trafford hoardings separating the crowd from the pitch.
The United right-back looked to be in agonising pain as he lay on the floor.
And there were worrying scenes as a stretcher was summoned by medics.
Concerned onlookers watched on as Wan-Bissaka was taken off the pitch.
And United boss Ralf Rangnick will now be sweating over the ace’s fitness ahead of a hefty run of games.
United’s stand-in boss said: “He received two knocks – one again unfortunately on the wrist and the other one on his knee.
“He’s been treated now in the locker room but we have to wait and see what the situation around those two knocks will be like tomorrow.
“But I am positive that he can the day after tomorrow train again and hopefully become part of the team against Norwich (on Saturday).”

Wan-Bissaka had only just returned to United’s starting XI after Diogo Dalot started the wins over Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
Wan-Bissaka has made 18 appearances for United this term.
But, if he misses time, that opens the door for Dalot to reclaim the right-back spot against Norwich.
Eric Bailly has also filled in there on past occasions.
And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer even experimented with Jadon Sancho as a wing-back should Rangnick decide to go with five at the back.
