The proposed breakaway tournament was left in tatters after the six Premier League clubs, who had signed up, withdrew following fierce backlash.
Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid and AC Milan then all followed suit.
But the proposal has remerged this year with Barcelona president Joan Laporta saying last month it is “far from being abandoned”.

Atletico chiefs immediately lodged an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, who overturned the ban and permitted the stadium to be at full capacity for tonight’s second leg.
A club statement read: “TAS granted our request and suspended the partial closure of the Wanda Metropolitano; all members and fans with a season ticket or seat for tonight’s game will be able to access the stadium.”
It’s unclear whether or not TAS have postponed the punishment or thrown it out altogether.
