      The three clubs vowed to press on with their breakaway scheme despite the huge public backlash that forced Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and both Manchester sides to pull out of the plot.
      But the Madrid Mercantile Court, viewed by many as an in-house division of Real Madrid, had agreed with the club case that Uefa’s proposed sanctions unfairly prevented the trio from pushing on with their plot.
      Now, though, a senior judge overturned that ruling, which had prevented Uefa taking any disciplinary action against them for their continued involvement in the doomed project. 
      Judge Sofía Gil of the superior Spanish Commercial Court quashed that legal stay and appears set to dismiss the rebel’s case entirely at a pre-trial hearing slated for June 14, which would open the door for Uefa to take action.

      In her 18-page ruling, Judge Gil stated that Real, Barca and Juve were “perfectly aware of the possible consequences” of their actions in defying Uefa.
      The Judge added: “Uefa and Fifa are associations that control and organise sporting competitions.
      “For them to have to give prior authorisation for any alternative competition is reasonable and justified, in order to preserve sporting merit and equal opportunities for participating clubs.”
      In response, a spokesman for the Nyon-based governing body said: “Uefa has today received the order of the Madrid court, lifting the precautionary measures in their entirety.

      So how has the former centre-back from a rural town in Twente transformed their fortunes?
      Ten Hag’s education in coaching goes some way to explain.
      In 2013, having spent his entire career in Holland, he moved abroad to work with the master of management.
      At Bayern Munich, Ten Hag cut his coaching teeth with the reserves while watching closely as Pep Guardiola revolutionised the German giants’ style.
      “Every day I get to work with him, I look forward to it. He inspires me,” he gushed.

      And his approach to training shows Ten Hag is a disciple of Guardiola, such is the obsession with detail.
      He has a particular focus on the character of a player.
      Ten Hag will note down how each individual responds to minor errors, losing the ball or committing a foul, and works out the mentality of his team to suit their opponent.

      Ten Hag suited Ajax due to his ability to nurture young talent into stars.
      Frenkie de Jong joined Barcelona in a deal worth £65million in 2019. Matthijs de Ligt joined Juventus for the same fee – boosting the club’s coffers.
      Ten Hag played a key role in the development of players like Memphis Depay, at PSV, and Marko Arnautovic, at FC Twente.
      He transformed Depay from a central midfielder to a wide position, with the coach’s focus constantly on attacking and attractive football.
      Yet, Ten Hag is also able to identify what his team needs.
      Among his youthful stars, are seasoned veterans including former Manchester United man Daley Blind and ex-Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic.
      Both were brought in 2018 by Ten Hag to redress the team’s inexperience.

      Champions League final tickets go on sale with fans having to fork out up to £572 for seats at Stade de France

      LIVERPOOL and Manchester City fans can now buy tickets for next month’s Champions League final, starting from just £58.The ballot for the first batch of 12,000 seats for the game at the Stade de France on May 28 has now been opened by Uefa.

      Tickets start at £58 for the lowest category views, although they then rise steeply with the rest available for £149, £406 and an eye-watering £572 for top-priced seats.
      Fans have until April 28 to apply for the ballot and can ask for one or two tickets, with the successful applicants informed by May 6.
      In addition to the 12,000 seats – out of a capacity of 75,000 – available on general sale, each finalist club will be given 20,000 tickets.
      Half of those will be FREE, after Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin intervened to demand a change in policy.

      MANCHESTER UNITED legend Gary Neville has called on the Glazers to go a year on from the Europan Super League plot. The furious TV pundit made clear he had not forgotten about the doomed project and “greed” of the American owners.

      It is a year since Europe’s leading clubs stunned the world by attempting to start a European Super League.
      It led to a major backlash against some club owners and raised big questions about the ownership model in this country.
      The Glazer family faced a furious reaction from Manchester United fans, following years of anger at the running of the club.
      Neville has been one of their most vocal critics.

      He wrote on social media: “It’s one year to the day the European Super League was launched.
      “Six clubs in this country including mine were willing to destroy English Football for their own greed.
      “12 months on United fans are still angry and waiting for Joel Glazer to show as he promised. The Glazer family must go!”
      The former defender’s message comes following furious fan protests before United beat Norwich on Saturday.

      In the fallout, Joel Glazer issued an apologetic statement to fans.
      He said: “You made very clear your opposition to the European Super League, and we have listened. We got it wrong, and we want to show that we can put things right.
      “Although the wounds are raw and I understand that it will take time for the scars to heal, I am personally committed to rebuilding trust with our fans and learning from the message you delivered with such conviction.
