He is an important member of Rúben Amorim’s team and the club is aware of his value.
As a result, they are planning to offer him a new contract amid interest from Spurs, report Record.
Ugarte, 21, is set to be offered new terms which could see him earn £100,000 a week.
The new contract will also see Ugarte’s release clause rise from £50million to £70m with Sporting refusing to let him leave for anything less.

Ugarte’s market value could increase even further if he impresses for Uruguay at the World Cup.
But Spurs are hoping to pinch him before that, with Antonio Conte said to be keen on the defensive midfielder.
The Italian got to view Ugarte’s talents first-hand when Sporting beat Spurs 2-0 last month.
PSG are also monitoring Ugarte’s situation and would likely have the funds to sign him.

Tottenham are also interested in signing Sunderland left-back Dennis Cirkin — who they only let go of last year.
The North London club surprisingly let him go and could pull off another shock by bidding to bring him back.
However, that may be part of an elaborate move to sign Dublin-born Cirkin and then sell him soon after to a rival. More

Liverpool look tired and flat and Arsenal are everything Jurgen Klopp’s side were four-years-ago, claims Didi Hamann

DIDI HAMANN says his former club Liverpool look tired and flat, while hailing Arsenal as everything Jurgen Klopp’s side used to be “four or five years ago”.Liverpool are at risk of dropping out of the Premier League title picture by Sunday evening when they play Manchester City at Anfield.

They head into that game off the back of defeat to table toppers Arsenal, who they lost to 3-2 at the weekend, leaving them 14 points adrift.
And ex-Reds midfielder Hamann says Liverpool “look pedestrian” and “flat”.
Despite Klopp’s brilliance, which has seen him win the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup with Liverpool, Hamann struggles to see where the Reds’ spark “is going to come from”.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the 2005 Champions League-winning German said: “I think that as a big team you’re always in transition but they’ve been at the top of their capacities for the last three or four years.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
“What they achieved and what they did last year was second to none.
“I don’t think that will be achieved again, to be within seven days of winning all four trophies and I think that psychologically it was always going to be tough this season.
“If you look yesterday, Arsenal in the second half were everything that Liverpool were four or five years ago.
“They were breath-taking going forward. Every time that they did go forward you felt that something was going to happen.

“This Liverpool team looks tired, they look pedestrian and they just look flat.
“I’m not sure where the spark is going to come from because they’ve won games in the past, obviously they beat Rangers a couple of days ago but they’re obviously far superior to Rangers.
“I trust that they’ll know where the spark is going to come from but whether it’s the end of an era?
I wouldn’t write them off, but my imagination doesn’t let me see where the spark is going to come from in the next few weeks.”
Liverpool look to be in the top-four race – not the one for the Prem crown.
But defeat at Anfield to their rivals City could see them fall “eight or nine points” off the final Champions League spot.
Hamann continued: “The dynamics at Liverpool are no different to anywhere else and if the results aren’t there then the manager will come under pressure.
“If they were to get beat next week or not win against Manchester City, which at the moment seems very likely, you could be eight or nine points off fourth place.
“We know that the owners are not the biggest spenders and so we know how vitally important it is for the team to be in the Champions League because of the revenue that you get.
“At some stage I think we will have that discussion about the manager and I’m not sure how far we are off [from that].

“He said that he still feels that he’s the right man to do it, but I see little things like Jordan Henderson midweek seeing his number going up and reluctantly taking his armband off and coming off shaking his head.
“This is something that we haven’t seen at Liverpool for five years. Maybe these are little signs that people have little problems with the team or even the manager.”

Rio Ferdinand hails Graham Potter for picking ‘seven young Englishmen’ in Chelsea’s win over AC Milan

In-form Reece James, 22, rounded off the victory after another stunning performance at right-back.
He linked up well with Mason Mount, 23, and Raheem Sterling, a relative veteran at 27, as Chelsea outplayed the Italian champions.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, 26, and Ben Chilwell, 25, started and played the full 90 minutes.
And then Potter sent on Conor Gallagher, 22, and Trevoh Chalobah, 23, from the Blues bench to see out the game.

Ex-Manchester United and England defender Ferdinand was buoyed to see so many of Gareth Southgate’s potential World Cup aces in action – with just seven weeks before the Three Lions’ opener in Qatar against Iran.
He said: “There is a lot of pressure as they haven’t started well. At home you have to get the points and they were even able to make subs.
“Potter has seven young English players on the pitch which bodes well and all the right buttons are being pressed.
“Momentum is key and there is something in the crowd right now. It’s a step in the right direction.

Fofana broke his leg with former club Leicester last year which led to concerns he may have suffered a similar serious knock.
He was sent for a scan to assess the scale of the problem which occurred while chasing back against Milan striker Rafael Leao in the first half and forced him off after 38 minutes.
But it now appears the damage may be as limited as a sprain on his knee and while he is expected to miss Saturday’s home game with Wolves he will not be out long term.
He also appears set to miss the return fixture against AC Milan, as well as games against Aston Villa, Brentford, and Manchester United.

Fofana’s Chelsea team-mates were left praying his injury wasn’t a serious one after watching the defender hobble off the field.
After posting a picture to Instagram vowing to return stronger, Raheem Sterling, Mason Mount and Trevoh Chalobah responded with heart and prayer emojis.
There were fears Fofana’s injury was a serious one when the defender appeared to be in tears as he made his way off the field.
The £70million summer signing was then spotted walking with a pair of crutches as he left the stadium.

Fofana opened the scoring for the Blues last night – his first goal for the club.
But he was forced off just minutes later following his coming together with Leao.
Chelsea boss Graham Potter said after the game on Fofana’s injury: “That’s the one disappointing thing about the evening.
“We need to scan tomorrow and fingers crossed. I wouldn’t want to speculate on it now. But we’re concerned and we just need to wait until tomorrow and get it scanned and hope for the best.
“These things happen. He’s a young guy, he’s a strong guy, we’ll help him and support him.
“At the moment there’s not too much to report. Fingers crossed and we’re hoping for the best.” More
