But the Brazilian was left fuming after he made way for Ferran Torres on 83 minutes.
Raphinha’s frustrations were evident on the subs bench as he took his anger out on Alonso’s seat.
But he did apologise to manager Xavi afterwards – despite not needing to.
Xavi said: “I see and understand Raphinha’s anger, I was also angry. I make the changes thinking about the team and not to point fingers at anyone

“Raphinha has apologised to me but he didn’t have to. I see it as a positive that everyone wants to play.”

United boss Erik ten Hag claimed the game was so good it was more fitting for Champions League football.
He said: “I think we dictated the game. Apart from maybe 15 minutes of the first half, we had some difficulties, but for the rest, we dictated the game and we outplayed [them], so many chances, so I was a little bit disappointed that in half-time it was 0-0 because we should have scored.
“The opportunities they had, we created by ourselves. But I think it was a great game, two attacking teams, I think it was really Champions League [level] and even more than that.
“So I really enjoyed the game a lot. In the end, 2-2, and we have to finish it at Old Trafford.”

Dortmund just need a draw in the return leg at Stamford Bridge to book their spot in the quarters.
But Bellingham, linked with a summer move to Chelsea, arguably saved his best performance for the post-match interview on US channel CBS Sports.
Prior to the chat, pundit and ex-Liverpool star Carragher attempted to convince pitchside reporter Nico Cantor to propose to his girlfriend on live TV.
And Bellingham, also a top target for the Reds, made no secret of his support for Cantor’s decision to reject Carragher’s pleas.

Bellingham said: “When he was trying to get you to propose? Jamie, do better.
“Not on Valentine’s Day when she’s there, come on. I’ve got your back there (Nico).
“You should have protected yourself a little bit more though… big names in the studio, crumbled a little bit, it’s alright.”
But Carragher had no problem with Bellingham’s telling-off, admitting he’d do anything the England star says if he joins Liverpool as a result.

Carragher declared: “Listen, I want that man in a red shirt so I’m going to do whatever he tells me to do!
“So if Jude Bellingham has got anymore advice for me, I’m taking it all day my friend!”
However, fellow pundit Micah Richards refused to let Carragher get off lightly.
He said: “You sound quite desperate right now!”
To which Carragher replied: “For Jude Bellingham? I am! We are!”
He isn’t the first Kop icon to make a play for Bellingham though, with Steven Gerrard admitting he’ll “fly to Dortmund” to sign the ace for Liverpool.
Gerrard said last month: “All he needs to do is send his diary to me when he’s got a free day.
“I’ll fly to Dortmund personally, take him out for a nice dinner, and we’ll talk about it!” More

Man Utd’s Qatari takeover bid has raised ‘significant worries within PSG that Red Devils will be prioritised’

The Glazers revealed in November that they were willing to listen to offers for either a stake in the Premier League giants or an outright purchase.
A number of parties have expressed an interest in buying United, which could be purchased for a world-record price for a sports franchise at £4.5billion, or more.
There has been questions over whether a deal would be banned due to Qatar already owning PSG.
But the Daily Mail reported that a bid from the consortium would not be blocked by Uefa, meaning a major cash boost to United.

The report says that the bid has come from a separate entity to Qatar Sports Investments, which owns the Ligue 1 giants.
PSG was taken over by QSI in 2011 and have gone on to become one of the heavyweights in European football.
The French side have won eight of the last ten league titles and are consistently reaching the latter stages of the Champions League.
But Qatar authorities insist a bid for the Premier League side will not affect PSG and that the French side will continue to receive funding.

But PSG reportedly fear the Qatar Investment Authority will divert money into United, given the French giants’ failure to win the Champions League so far despite heavy investment.
Therefore, United could be prioritised should they become more successful.
One source told L’Equipe: “If Qatar buys Manchester United, there is a chance that it will be less generous with PSG and that it will make it a Ligue 1 club and no longer a team cut out to win the Champions League.” More

Do away goals count double in the Champions League and Europa League?

GET ready for more drama as we have reached the knock-out stages of the Champions League and the Europa League. Here is all the latest on how the away goals rule will be used during the top two European competitions.
The trophy they all want is awarded in the final of the Champions LeagueCredit: Getty
Do away goals count in Champions League and Europa League matches?
Away goals had been a feature of European knockout games since 1965.
But in 2021, this all changed.
After years of speculation, Uefa  decided to scrap the away goals rule in Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League qualifiers and knockout games over two-legs.
As such, any tied aggregate score will now send a tie into extra-time.
Should the scores still be level after the extra 30 minutes, we go to penalties.
The law previously gave a significant advantage to sides who hit the back of the net on the road, but drew criticism from many fans.
    MOST READ IN FOOTBALL

Uefa President Aleksander Ceferin explained the decision: “The away goals rule has been an intrinsic part of Uefa competitions since it was introduced in 1965. However, the question of its abolition has been debated at various Uefa meetings over the last few years.
“Although there was no unanimity of views, many coaches, fans and other football stakeholders have questioned its fairness and have expressed a preference for the rule to be abolished.
“The impact of the rule now runs counter to its original purpose as, in fact, it now dissuades home teams – especially in first legs – from attacking, because they fear conceding a goal that would give their opponents a crucial advantage.
“There is also criticism of the unfairness, especially in extra time, of obliging the home team to score twice when the away team has scored.
“It is fair to say that home advantage is nowadays no longer as significant as it once was.
“Taking into consideration the consistency across Europe in terms of styles of play, and many different factors which have led to a decline in home advantage, the Uefa Executive Committee has taken the correct decision in adopting the view that it is no longer appropriate for an away goal to carry more weight than one scored at home.”
It means Bayern Munich could be the last team ever knocked out of the Champions League on away goals when they drew 3-3 on aggregate with Paris Saint-Germain in 2021.
PSG won the first leg 3-2 in Munich before Bayern edged them 1-0 in the second leg in Paris but were knocked out due to the now defunct rule. Are there extra time and penalties in the Champions League and Europa League if scores are tied?
Yes. If the aggregate scores are level after two 90-minute games, the match goes to extra time in the second leg.
If the scores are level at the end of extra time then we will have penalty kicks to decide the winner. More
