Fans forced to turn off TNT Sports after it is hit with major technical issues following Man Utd’s win over Copenhagen

FANS were forced to turn off TNT Sports after they were hit with major technical issues during coverage of Manchester United’s win over Copenhagen. The new broadcaster, a rebrand of BT Sport, has taken on Champions League coverage in the UK for the 2023-24 season.
TNT Sport suffered technical issues throughout the night as Manchester United played CopenhagenCredit: TNT Sports
But in just the third round of fixtures, they suffered a serious malfunction as a blaring crackling sound beamed through TV speakers across the country.
It is unclear what happened to cause the terrible audio problems.
But supporters watching on at home let rip for the poor production quality – with one even using a Jose Mourinho meme of him taking off his headphones to suggest they had switched channels.
One tweeted: “What is this c**p audio we are paying for??

Another wrote: “F*** me TNT Sports is so amateurish! Can’t they afford decent sound equipment!?!”
A third commented: “Sort that awful sound out TNT Sports. We can actually hear the producers talking too, ‘Is it the same for Laura?’ Yes love.”
A fourth said: “Someone’s getting sacked tomorrow from TNT’s sound team.”
A fifth raged: “TNT sound is dreadful.”

A sixth fumed: “F*** sake @TNTSports, sort your audio out!”
Another moaned: “These sound issues all night on TNT is ridiculous.”
And a final user quipped: “TNT Sports letting the transition year students have a crack at the sound on the United game.”
Presenter Laura Woods also had to think quickly earlier in the night during the build-up to the Champions League game.
Paul Scholes’ microphone suddenly stopped working as Woods came to the rescue and then jokingly gave the ex-United midfielder a ticking off.
Scholes then pretended to throw his dodgy piece of kit away.
After the game – which the Red Devils won in dramatic fashion thanks to Andre Onana’s 97th-minute penalty save – there were more issues for TNT Sports as Woods had to give her microphone to Erik ten Hag for his live on-air interview.
And to make matters worse, there were more complaints during the post-match analysis and interviews because the sound was out of sync with the pictures.

“The first-half was really poor, it was not perfect but an important win. This man [Andre Onana] stepped up and it was a massive save.”
Man Utd honoured club legend Sir Bobby Charlton before kick-off.
The 1966 World Cup hero passed away on Saturday after a three-year battle with dementia.
Before the match, both teams observed a minute of silence and Erik ten Hag carried a wreath to the centre circle alongside Man Utd Under-19’s captain Dan Gore and Alex Stepney, a former team-mate of Sir Bobby.
Discussing the importance of the result and the evening, Maguire added: “It was meant to be. We were meant to win the game, a magnificent save and a win dedicated to Sir Bobby and his family.
“It has been a tough week for us away at Sheffield United and losing someone like Sir Bobby, it affects the cub and the dressing room. But really pleased we could get the win tonight.”

Arsenal player ratings: Gabriel Jesus makes the difference but Martin Odegaard reverts to Real Madrid days vs Sevilla

ARSENAL clinched a huge 2-1 win over Sevilla in the Champions League thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus.Martinelli struck in first-half stoppage-time as the Gunners took a slender lead into the break courtesy of a sweeping counter-attack.

And Jesus doubled their advantage eight minutes into the second half with a sumptuous effort that flew into the top corner.
Nemanja Gudelj pulled one back for the hosts before the hour mark to make it a nervy final 30 minutes for Mikel Arteta’s men.
But Arsenal stood up to the task and sealed the win, successfully bouncing back from their 2-1 loss to Lens last time out in the Champions League.
Here is how SunSport’s Kieran Davies saw the performances of the Arsenal players.

Stats from the clash between Sevilla and Arsenal
    DAVID RAYA – 6
Had very little to do in terms of saves but still managed to give the ball to the opposition playing out from the back on a couple of occasions.
Almost punched a cross into his own net in added time.
    BEN WHITE – 6
Non-existent display in the first half but started to venture forward in the second half, offering himself on the overlap.
    Struggled with Ocampos at times.
    Most read in Champions League
    GABRIEL – 6
Left ball watching for the Sevilla goal, rather than attacking the ball.
Always has something to say to the referee even when he is the one at fault.
    WILLIAM SALIBA – 7
Solid as ever from the Arsenal centre back.
Over commits at times on the halfway line but it dependable around his own box.
    TAKEHIRO TOMIYASU – 7
Got forward from the first whistle and caused Sevilla problems down the left wing.
Offered support for Martinelli and Jesus. Struggled at times with Navas but stuck to his game.
    JORGINHO – 7
Put in the sort of performance this Arsenal side craves on the road in Europe.
Doesn’t look to do anything complicated, just receives the ball and looks to link play with short passes.
Jorginho retained possession impressively for Arsenal
    DECLAN RICE – 7
Always ready to get stuck in and has a great engine.
Made a fantastic box to box run to create a chance in the second half but passed to Saka who wasted the opportunity.
    MARTIN ODEGAARD – 5
Just could not get into the game at all and offered very little for Arsenal.
It more like the sort of performances he used to put in for Real Madrid.
Martin Odegaard struggled to have a significant impact on Tuesday night
    BUKAYO SAKA – 6
Can be all too predictable on the ball at times. Receives it, drops the shoulder, cuts onto his left foot and shoots. Wherever he is on the pitch.
Wasted possession all too often with this tactic.
    GABRIEL JESUS – 9
The difference between the two sides.
A sublime Cruyff turn in his own half before having the vision to see Martinelli’s run and slot him in for the first goal. Then scored a goal from nothing when he rifled one in the top corner when there was nothing on.
Gabriel Jesus’ heat map on an impressive evening for the Brazilian
    GABRIEL MARTINELLI – 8
Showed great composure running from the halfway line in added time to give Arsenal the lead.
He rounded the keeper and scored a very important goal. Offered a threat down the left all game.
    KAI HAVERTZ – 5
What Mikel Arteta was thinking paying the money he did for the German is nothing short of baffling.
All too often seems to have Harry Potter’s cloak of invisibility on. You have to check the teamsheet all too often to see if he was playing.
    LEANDRO TROSSARD – 6
Couldn’t really get into the game as was asked to defend all too often with Sevilla growing in confidence.

Man Utd 1 Copenhagen 0: Andre Onana the hero with stunning last-minute penalty save after Harry Maguire goal

IT was Sir Bobby Charlton himself who famously called this famous ground the “Theatre of Dreams”.But nobody could have dreamed this one up.

Not Harry Maguire, not Andre Onana.
The outpouring of emotion on the pitch and in the stands showed what it all meant.
Maguire the goalscorer in the 72nd minute.
Then in the seventh minute of injury time and with the last kick of the game substitute Jordan Larsson – son of ex-United striker Henrik – had a penalty saved by the much-criticised United No1.

    Incredible, just incredible.
    What of Maguire.
Dumped out the team last season and then humiliated when the captain’s armband was taken off him.

    Maguire was not going quietly.
He wanted a proper pay off to go and Manchester United could not reach an agreement.
So he was staying and that inner determination that got him to Old Trafford in the first place has shone through since.
What an example to sulking stars…
When half-time substitute Christian Eriksen delivered the perfect ball from deep on the right flank Maguire simply wanted it more than Rasmus Falk.
He won it and powered a downward header past the goalkeeper and in.
He was ecstatic and so were his teammates.
After emerging from the celebratory huddle he turned to The Stretford End made a heart shape with his hands and smacked the badge on his shirt.

    The fans loved it.
Everyone who loves sport loves a story of redemption.
Maguire was man of the match at Sheffield United last weekend now this.
Goodness me the Red Devils needed it as well to revive their fortunes in the Champions League after two opening defeats.
But then drama in the final seconds.
Scott McTominay was adjudged to have fouled Mohamed Elyounoussi and a penalty was awarded.
What a fine save it was from Onana too as he guessed right.
The referees whistle went, Onana was engulfed and the whole bench raced onto the field in celebration.
Moments at odds with what had gone on in a first half that was so boring that even the referee blew up before the 45 minutes were up.
Harry Maguire headed in at the back post to break the deadlockCredit: Getty
The defender showed his love for the Old Trafford crowd with his celebrationCredit: Getty
This team can have a wonderful knack of allowing you to drift off into a world of your own sometimes.
The opening few minutes did offer some hope at least for the visitors.
Elias Achouri had a long range shot that was going wide but Andre Onana made sure and got a hand to it, which makes a nice change.
The alarm bells were ringing when a slick break then ended with Diogo Goncalves hitting the post.
United were once again trying to utilise Scott McTominay’s striking abilities first properly realised in a Scotland jersey.
Playing in a 4-1-4-1 formation McTominay was able to break forward in a bid to add to that double against Brentford and one last weekend at Bramall Lane.
When Marcus Rashford found him, however, he fired over as he did when a clever backheel by Rasmus Hojlund afforded an opportunity.
The start of the second-half did at least wake us from our slumber.

Lukas Lerager’s shot from the edge of the area brought a save out of Onana.
For the second home game running Erik ten Hag had replaced his defensive midfielder for Eriksen to provide more creation.
The Dane was immediately into the action with a low drive from the edge of the area turned behind by Kamil Grabara.
There were cries for a penalty when Rashford broke through and went down on the edge of the area as Grabara slid on on him. It was tight.
But the linesman’s flag went up for Rashford being offside even though replays suggest it wasn’t but VAR could not be referred to because a penalty had not been awarded by the referee.
    Ok with that?
Rashford got through again and this time was onside but a heavy first touch lost him his opportunity.
He remains on one goal this season.
It was catching as Alejandro Garnacho was put away by Bruno Fernandes. Good first touch, awful second and the goalkeeper collected.
You could sense that goal was going to come though and it did.

    It had too.
Sir Bobby was always there for the highs, but always supportive when the club was struggling too.
It’s struggling again now but this team has spirit.
A spirit first infused into the fabric of United by the likes of Sir Bobby himself.
He was remembered on this night following his passing last week.
The man himself would have pointed at the perilous state of Group A and told the team to change that.
It was always about United on the pitch.
    That was always what mattered.
His support came last night in the inspirational history of the man.

Sevilla 1 Arsenal 2: Gabriel Jesus equals Marouane Chamakh record as Gunners pull off vital Champions League away win

GABRIEL JESUS conjured up a Champions League master class as Arsenal delivered a serious dose of pain in Spain. The brilliant Brazilian was in a class of his own to prove that he can be the clinical finisher his team has been crying out for.

Mikel Arteta has been moaning all season about his team making life difficult for themselves by failing to convert their chances when they have been in control.
But he could have absolutely no complaints about Jesus’ efforts last night as the Gunners held their nerve to secure a crucial away win which leaves them back in control of their European destiny.
There is something special about the Champions League which clearly resonates with Jesus.
In 26 starts in the competition for Manchester City and Arsenal, he has now scored 18 goals and provided four assists.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
And few would have been better than his 53rd minute winner curled into the top corner after cutting in from the left to send the travelling fans into raptures.
He had already produced a sublime piece of skill to set up Gabriel Martinelli for Arsenal’s opening goal on the stroke of half-time.
And he never gave poor old Sergio Ramos a moment’s peace on a night the veteran defender will not forget in a hurry.
It is difficult to feel too much sympathy for the former Real Madrid hatchet man who revels in his role as pantomime villain.

But he will be feeling every one of his 37 years when he wakes up this morning and reflects on the chasing he was given by the relentless Jesus.
No-one appreciated his contribution more than Arteta, who must have been fearing yet more questions about David Raya after another far from convincing performance from the Spanish keeper.
The doubts about Raya first surfaced when his poor kick led to Lens’ opening goal during the 2-1 Champions League defeat at the beginning of the month.
And his distribution was equally iffy against Manchester City before he was lobbed by Mykhailo Mudryk in the 2-2 draw at Chelsea at the weekend.
But Arteta insists he has seen no sign of the keeper suffering a crisis of confidence and insists he is not going to ditch the Spanish international on the back of one mistake.
So it was not much of a surprise when Raya was forced to backpedal when he was caught yards out of his area when Sevilla launched their first attack of the evening.
And it was even less of a shock when his distribution was found wanting yet again and he was fortunate that Dodi Lukebakio was unable to control the gift right in front of goal.
Last season’s Europa League winners were looking for a first win under new boss Diego Alonso after Jose Luis Mendilibar was sacked at the beginning of the month as a consequence of his team’s poor start to the campaign.
It was a tight match, but the Gunners clinched all three points
And it didn’t take long for Sevilla to show their hand when full-back Marcos Acuna shoved Bukayo Saka to the ground without even trying to make a tackle.
Their lack of pace at the back, where the creaking  Ramos was desperately trying to hold things together, was clearly going to be a weakness for Arsenal to target.
And the visitors should have been ahead in the eighth minute when Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jesus combined to send Martinelli in on goal with a couple of slick passes..
But with only the keeper to beat, he shot straight at Orjan Nyland and the ball rebounded back off him and behind for a goal-kick.
Jesus had tried to launch a quick counter attack but was brought to a shuddering halt by a no-nonsense tackle from Leicester loanee Boubakary Soumare as Arsenal looked to step on the gas.
Arsenal were almost undone just before half-time when Youssef El-Nasryi got in behind their defence to fire a low shot just the wrong side of the far post.
But just when it looked as though the team would be going into the interval on level terms, Arsenal struck with a goal of devastating brilliance on the break.
A  Sevilla corner was cleared up to Jesus and his jaw-dropping control and turn allowed him to send Martinelli galloping clear from the halfway line.
And there was no mistake from the young  Brazilian this time as he calmly went round Nyland and rolled the ball into the empty net.
Sevilla’s Norwegian keeper was left clutching thin air again when Jesus doubled Arsenal’s lead to seemingly put this tie to bed.

Martin Odegaard almost made it three with a rising shot which grazed the top of the bar but  nothing is ever straightforward when Arsenal are involved in Europe.
But even when Nemanja Gudeli headed inside the near post from a 59th minute corner, Arteta’s men  rarely looked in serious trouble.

TNT Sports commentator baffled by referee’s ‘strange decision’ that leaves Man Utd fans fuming during Copenhagen clash

But Marco Guida even blew his whistle BEFORE the clock hit the 45-minute mark.
Instead, he called time around 44:45 – which the TNT Sports commentator labelled a “strange decision”.
And it also prompted a furious backlash from United supporters.
One said: “Never witnessed a referee blowing the whistle before 45 minutes.”

Another wrote: “The game ended at 44mins. Is the referee drunk?”
And Specsavers joked: “Can the referee please arrive 15 seconds early to tomorrow’s appointment.”
United rarely threatened the Copenhagen goal in the opening half and Erik ten Hag hooked off Sofyan Amrabat for Christian Eriksen during the interval.
So plenty of supporters were actually relieved the first half finished early – because they had already seen enough.

One fan commented: “Man Utd are playing that bad the referee has blown for half-time at 44:45.”
Another typed: “Referee couldn’t stand the rubbish he kept seeing and had to end the game 15 seconds early.”
A third replied: “The referee is a legend! Honestly! Blowing 15 seconds early has to be the best thing anyone has done in that half!”
And a final user joked: “Referee called half-time early, he’s tired of this stinkfest.”
Quite a few others also made reference to the Africa Cup of Nations referee who famously blew for full-time after 85 minutes.
Before the game, TNT Sports host Laura Woods jokingly told off Paul Scholes after he accidentally broke his microphone live on air.
And then the Red Devils paid tribute to Sir Bobby Charlton ahead of the first home game since the club legend passed away aged 86 on Saturday. More
