And the 20-year-old then drew praise from stopping Joselu from apologising to the crowd after a series of misses when he finally got on the scoresheet following his assist.
Bellingham became the first player to score in each of his first four Champions League appearances for Madrid with his header yesterday.
And he is now also only the fourth player to reach 10 goals before the age of 21 in the competition’s history.
The ex-Birmingham City midfielder joined the Spanish giants in a £115million transfer from Borussia Dortmund in June.

And he has made a stunning start to life in Spain with 15 goals in 16 appearances for Los Blancos so far.
That has led to many comparing him to legendary Madrid icon Zinedine Zidane – who was in attendance on Wednesday to witness his potential successor live in action.
And those comparisons went into overdrive after fans spotted Bellingham’s footwear against Napoli.
The youngster wore unreleased Adidas Predator boots for the Bernabeu clash – similar to the ones Zidane used to wear in his heyday.

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold also had them on for his equaliser against Manchester City on Saturday after penning a deal with the sportswear giants and joining his compatriot on their star-studded roster.
Bellingham has already taken the No.5 shirt at Madrid that was made famous by Zidane.
Now he is sporting almost identical boots as the iconic Adidas Predator boot prepares to celebrate their 30-year anniversary by teasing the release of a new edition of the footwear worn previously by the likes of ZZ, DAvid Beckham and Steven Gerrard.
And eagle-eyed fans quickly took to social media after spotting Bellingham donning them.
    One wrote: “Following Zidane’s footsteps.”
Another said: “Jude Bellingham’s boots are giving us Zidane 1998 World Cup vibes.”
“Jude Bellingham dropped a masterclass wearing these boots with the number 5 shirt whilst Zinedine Zidane was watching,” said another before adding: “This is poetry.”
A fellow supporter said: “Wearing no.5 jersey, adidas Predator boots. What else?

During a Q and A by host Kate Abdo, Henry had already revealed that his best shirt swap during his career was with Ronaldo after the 1998 World Cup final between France and Brazil.
However, things heated up in another round of questioning when Kate asked who the funniest player they played with was.
Clint Dempsey answered first and claimed his was the “crazy” Jimmy Bullard from his time at Fulham.
Micah Richards then said that he was “the funny one” as he struggled to come up with an answer.

Henry then responded: “That is not the question though, you didn’t play with yourself, right?”
    Richards then answered: “[Mario] Balotelli”.
But Carragher could not get over Henry’s phrasing of his question as he said: “He did what?”
Henry then insisted: “He didn’t play with himself, that is what I am saying.”

Kate then started to chuckle as she told Carragher to “shut up”.

    ‘Beautiful’
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta speaking to TNT Sports: “Today was the day to get it done. We did it in a beautiful way.
“We scored five goals (in the first half) against a really good side. You can become really sloppy. And there were parts of the second half with different behaviours but we stayed really focused.”
Asked about winning the group, Arteta added: “It’s great because the schedule we have at the moment is crazy. We’re already thinking about Wolves in 72 hours.
“We have to demand more from each other. We’ll have to be well prepared for Wolves.”

    Final scores
A few surprise results in here tonight.
FC Copenhagen getting a point at Bayern Munich means Manchester United have to beat the Bundesliga champions at Old Trafford and hope the other match in Group A is drawn to remain in the competition.

    Arsenal 6-0 Lens
    Bayern Munich 0-0 Copenhagen
    Benfica 3-3 Inter Milan
    Braga 1-1 Union Berlin
    Real Madrid 4-2 Napoli
    Real Sociedad 0-0 Salzburg

    The standings
Take a look and enjoy that, Arsenal fans.
The Gunners will finish top of Group B as the seeded side whatever happens in their trip to PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch outfit can also celebrate, they advance at the expense of Lens and Sevilla.
That goal difference didn’t half take a boost tonight.

    ARSENAL 6-0 LENS

    ARSENAL 6-0 LENS
91: How about that? Now that’s the attitude that wins titles.
Arsenal defender Gabriel throws his body in the way of a late Wahi snapshot to save the clean sheet for his side. He drops to his knees and celebrates like he’s scored a goal.
    ARSENAL 6-0 LENS

    ARSENAL 6-0 LENS
88: “6-0 to the Arsenal,” sing the supporters. They’ve been exceptional tonight.
ARSENAL 6-0 LENS – JORGINHO (PEN)
85: GOAL! Martin Odegaard handed the ball over to Jorginho and the Italian international sends the goalkeeper the wrong way with a typically cool penalty.
Probably the least pressurised penalty he’ll ever take.

    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
84: Penalty to Arsenal! The referee wandered over to the screen and decided to give the spot-kick. Martin Odegaard is ready to take it…
    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
83: Eddie Nketiah replaces Gabriel Jesus for the final few minutes. No Arsenal player has fired off more shots on goal in the league this season than Eddie.
Penalty check! Khusanov, who made his European debut tonight and got booked after 25 seconds, has caught Martinelli in the face with a flailing arm. It also looks like he’s managed to handle the ball in the same motion.
He’s had a night to forget.
    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
80: Arsenal continue to play the ball around inside the Lens half. Clearly conserving energy for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Wolves.
Chance! Ben White finds Gabriel Martinelli down the right channel. He drives into the penalty area but his cross/shot is blocked for a corner.
    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
78: Arsenal applying a bit of pressure as we enter the final stages. No clear-cut chances to speak of, but you sense there might be a sixth here for the Gunners. Ben White reaches the byline but his floated cross is plucked out of the air by Lens goalkeeper Samba.
    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
75: OK, 15 minutes left to play here. Odegaard wins a corner after seeing his effort blocked. Rice strolls over to take it and it sails straight through a crowd of players and soon arrives at the feet of David Raya. Turning attack into defence in the blink of an eye there.
Declan Rice heads off with Jorginho replacing him.
    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
71: It looks in range. Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard stands over a free-kick around 30-yards from goal. Might be closer to 35 yards actually.
He bends the delivery in but it’s headed clear and Gabriel Martinelli ushers it out for a corner, which White eventually slices high and wide.
    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
    68: Chance! An actual chance!
Kai Havertz sends the crowd wild with a bit of trickery in the corner to bamboozle his marker. He tip-toes across the byline before cutting it back for Odegaard, whose skidding effort is saved by Samba.
    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
65: Khusanov replaces Gradit to make his European debut… and he’s booked within about 25 seconds for an innocuous foul. Haidara follows him into the book seconds later with a really cynical foul on Odegaard.
Bukayo Saka finally comes off. He’s replaced by Nelson.
    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
63: Video highlights for this second half will be tricky for editors later. Actually I guess they’ll be easier with nothing to show.
    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
60: An hour remaining, and this one is wrapped up.
The 3,000 Lens fans are doing something. They are… swaying in opposite directions from the row in front of them. Not sure I’ve seen that before. Nicely choreographed.
    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
58: Gabriel Jesus applies a bit of pressure on the Lens defence but gives the foul away.
    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
55: Mendy slides the ball through for the onrushing Wahi. His cross is safely gathered by Raya but the whistle went for offside anyway. That’s about as exciting as it’s been since the break, folks.
    ARSENAL 5-0 LENS
53: Surprised to see Bukayo Saka on the pitch still. He took a couple of whacks in the first half.
Lens have started well enough. Arsenal aren’t really putting any pressure on their visitors, who are keeping the ball nicely. No chances for either side. More

Sons of two Argentina team-mates score for Real Madrid and Napoli against each other as they make their own way in game

But they got off to a nightmare start when Giovanni Simeone, son of former Argentina star Diego, tapped in from close range despite the best efforts of goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.
Diego Simeone, who manages Atletico Madrid, won 108 caps for Argentina and was the victim of David Beckham’s infamous 1998 World Cup kick, which saw the England star red-carded.
Real equalised through Rodrygo before Jude Bellingham headed his side in front to take his tally to 14 goals in 15 games for Los Blancos.
Napoli then restored parity and the match appeared to be heading towards a draw before the hosts showed their quality.

Another Argentina, youngster Nico Paz picked up the ball midway through Napoli’s half, turned brilliantly and then unleashed a rocket from distance.
Goalkeeper Alex Meret could have done better as he palmed the ball into the net to spark a mad celebration from Paz.
It was his first goal for Real in just his fourth appearance for the Spanish giants.
His father Pablo Paz, who played alongside Simeone for Argentina in the 1990s, would have watched on with pride.

He superbly headed home a David Alaba cross to put Los Blancos 2-1 ahead after they had gone behind early on.
It means he has now scored 15 goals in 16 games in all competitions since arriving in Spain.
That includes four in four in the Champions League.
Those strikes add to the six times he found the back of the net for Borussia Dortmund in Europe’s elite competition.

It takes his Champions League goal tally to 10 in 27 matches.
And it also means he is only the fourth player to reach the milestone before his 21st birthday – which is not until June 29 next year.
The only others to have achieved the feat are Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
It is just the latest landmark Bellingham has managed after another sensational few days.

The strike meant he racked up more goals in his first 15 games for Real Madrid than any player in the club’s history – scoring 14 in that period.

Why Manuel Neuer was Man Utd’s unlikely hero as he keeps them in Champions League after Galatasaray nightmare

MANUEL NEUER was Manchester United’s unlikely hero as he kept them in the Champions League – for now. United twice led Galatasaray, where they needed a win to leave their Champions League fate in their own hands.

But twice they were pegged back in what ended in a six-goal 3-3 thriller in Istanbul.
It left them rock bottom of the group and needing Bayern to avoid a shock defeat at home to Copenhagen.
But the Germans – who already progressed top of the table – almost suffered a shock loss in the dying embers of the match.
Mohamed Elyounoussi’s towering header forced the German No1 to get down low to his left side.

And he did excellently well to then save the rebound effort and help Bayern clear the ball to safety.
It means United still have a glimmer of hope in qualification when Thomas Tuchel’s side travel to Old Trafford.
They will need a win and for Copenhagen and Galatasaray to draw in order to progress to the knockout stages.
So with United’s chances just about alive, fans were quick to thank stopper Neuer for his heroics.

    Rule breakers
Galatasaray have been accused of breaking a little-known rule to score their first goal against Manchester United, with some claiming it should have been disallowed.
Hakim Ziyech sparked the hosts’ comeback as he whipped a free-kick past Andre Onana after United had raced into a 2-0 lead.
However the goal could have been chalked off as Mauro Icardi appeared to commit an infringement as the shot was taken.
That’s because he was only 61 centimetres away from Rasmus Hojlund, who was standing in the wall, according to beIN SPORTS.
That’s less space than the should be allowed to have.

    That’s that. It ends goalless.
Man Utd are not out yet but their Champions League hopes are hanging by a thread.

    Copenhagen remain level
Still no goals at the Allianz Arena.
Copenhagen have managed just one shot on target in the match.
Eyes are on Harry Kane to get a goal that could really help Man Utd.
    0-0 in Germany
Bayern Munich vs Copenhagen is currently goalless.
As it stands the group looks like this:

    Bayern Munich 13pts
    Copenhagen 5pts
    Galatasaray 5pts
    Man Utd 4pts

It means things will go down to the final matchday on December 12 and United will need to beat Bayern and hope Copenhagen vs Galatasaray ends in a draw.
    Hargreaves reacts
Owen Hargreaves reckons United are making too many mistakes, given the incredible amount of goals they’ve scored.
He told TNT Sports: “United scored three in Munich and lost, three in Copenhagen and lost and three again here and didn’t win. If you had said before [those games] that you would score that amount of goals, no one would ever have believed you.
“They are scoring enough goals but making mistakes which are costly in the Champions League.”
    Another record…
Without wanting to harp on about the goals conceded….It is the reason United are in this mess.
It’s the most goals an English side has conceded at this stage of the competition – by quite some way too…
    14 – Most goals conceded by an English team five games into a Champions League campaign:14 – Manchester United (2023-24)11 – Manchester United (1994-95)11 – Tottenham (2019-20)10 – Manchester United (1998-99)10 – Manchester City (2012-13)10 – Arsenal (2015-16)Circus.— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) November 29, 2023

    Elsewhere….
There’s still no goals in the late game between Bayern Munich and Copenhagen approaching half time.
Remember, a shock win for the Danes would knock Man Utd out tonight….
    MOTM
Hakim Ziyech was awarded the man of the match tonight.
UEFA’s Technical Observer Panel said: “He was very effective coming in from the wide-right position, making excellent passes and creating several goalscoring opportunities.
“He scored two free-kicks and claimed an assist with an excellent pass for Galatasaray’s third.”
He’s got someone else to thank for that….
    Shipping them
Andre Onana has conceded 14 goals in Man Utd’s five Champions League games.
Only Antwerp have conceded more this season.
Celtic – who have been pretty abysmal in the competition – are the other side to have conceded as many as United.

    Making improvements
Finally, he concludes by insisting his side are on the right tracks and he’s pleased the project is moving in the right direction.
He finished: “It’s me to blame, it always is. But we are a project and we’re making improvements which is very hopeful.
“We’re going in the right direction and I know the steps we have to take.
“I’m sure we will be successful in the long term.
“Short term, if we want to stay in the Champions League we have to win the next game.”
    Ten Hag continues
On the three goals conceded tonight, he doesn’t put the blame on his goalkeeper who he signed.
He insisted instead that they were avoidable before reaching that stage.
He continued: “I think every goal we conceded has its own story. They come from transition moments that we spoke about and we don’t block the middle.
“The second we gave away a needless free kick but we have to defend the free kick better.
“And the third we were organised but got run off. It can never happen, you get punished for mistakes in the Champions League.
“We’ll fix that [losing a lot of goals]. I’m very pleased, you can see the style of this team; proactive, dynamic and brave. We created so many chances.”
    Ten Hag reacts
On the disappointment of dropping two points, he told TNT Sports: “We should have taken all three points, clearly.
“But we should have done that in other games, too. Away to Copenhagen, home to Galatasaray, we play so good.
“For that I have to compliment the team but at the same time I have to criticise them as defending we aren’t good enough.
“Winning 3-1, we can’t afford to make these mistakes as it makes the difference.”
    Here comes the manager
Erik ten Hag has emerged from the away dressing room.
We’ll have his comments in just a mo…..

    On those two free kicks…
The United captain stopped short of blaming the keeper, pausing after saying the two goals conceded were soft.
He added: “I have nothing to explain – there’s nothing we can do now.
“We lost two goals because of mistakes by…ourselves.”
    And here he is…
The Man Utd captain was scathing in his pre-match words.
He says his team must always look for a better and final pass instead of taking chances themselves – putting the team first and foremost.
He told TNT Sports: “It’s obviously really bad. We lost really bad goals and had to have control of that situation.
“We were on top twice and had far too many chances to close out the game but we weren’t clinical enough.
“Sometimes we need to get our head up and find that extra pass before trying to take chances ourselves. It is about the team and not ourselves.
“We have to be cleverer and manage the game better.”
    Everywhere
Much has been made of Bruno Fernandes in recent weeks but he was solid tonight.
He scored an absolute belter to send United on their way at 2-0 and almost clinched the winner when striking the post from 25 yards late on.
His tireless work often goes unnoticed but he was imperative at both ends tonight.

    Scholes blast
Paul Scholes says Andre Onana was to blame for all three goals tonight.
And he says the keeper makes the whole team nervous with his displays.
He told TNT Sports: “What can you say, more terrible mistakes again. The second goal was weak.
“He just makes people nervous. He makes his defence nervous – he makes the team nervous!
“He makes simple saves look really, really difficult.
“He shouldn’t be beaten at his near post, his positioning is poor. Again, all three goals are down to him.”
    Goals no problem
Scoring away from home in this competition doesn’t appear to be a problem.
They scored three in Munich, three in Copenhagen then three tonight.
But they’ve taken just ONE point in doing so.
A two-goal lead at Copenhagen went on to be a defeat and then that draw tonight.
    Match by numbers
A mad 33 shots on goal occurred in that game – probably most in those last 10 minutes!
Just four of United’s 17 efforts were on target though.
Though they were clinical in scoring three of those!

    How it leaves things
It means United are still bottom of Group A.
They’ll be OUT of the Champions League if Copenhagen beat Bayern Munich later.
Regardless, they know they’ll need to beat Bayern Munich at home on match day six to progress.

    Crazy draw
They were 2-0 and 3-1 up in the game, but again Man Utd’s mental fragility seems them throw away points.
Andre Onana isn’t their solution in the Champions League and has badly let his teammates down again.
Garnacho, Fernandes and McTominay all scored good goals, but the keeper’s inability to keep out two average Ziyech free kicks and a late strike sees them drop points on the road again.

    FULL TIME!
What an absolutely bonkers 90 minutes.
Somehow, Manchester United leave with just one point from it.
That leaves them in a tough position in the group.
    Galatasaray 3-3 Man Utd
    Galatasaray 3-3 Man Utd
    90+2. Dalot wins a corner.
Fernandes’ first ball is mince, doesn’t beat the first man.
It comes back to him and the ball is sent in from the left and McTominay heads well, well wide.
    Galatasaray 3-3 Man Utd
90+1. McTominay almost gets to a ball through the middle but Muslera rushes out his box to volley clear.

Arsenal 6 Lens 0: Gunners run riot to top Champions League group with a game to go with six different scorers

ARSENAL blasted through the speed barrier as they racked up their 100th Champions League victory to secure their place in the last 16.Mikel Arteta had complained that his team have been stuck in traffic all season and struggling to find a bit of open road in their opponents’ penalty area.

But they finally hit top gear to leave bewildered Lens stuck on the grid and in desperate need of emergency repairs.
On the fourth anniversary of Unai Emery’s Emirates sacking, the Gunners are once again firing on all cylinders and ready to become a major European force.
It is hard to believe just how quickly Arteta has turned this club around after celebrating his 200th match in charge at the weekend.
And this scintillating victory was arguably the pick of the bunch from a team who are now top of the Premier League and safely through to the Champions League knock-outs with a group game still in hand.

Poor Lens certainly didn’t know what had hit them as they were buried under a first-half avalanche.
Their travelling fans tried to stop the rout by igniting dozens of red flares which they had smuggled into the away end.
But no-one was going to answer their distress signals as Arteta’s vibrant young team ran riot.
It means that Arteta can now give his stars a well-earned night off for their final Group B game in Eindhoven next month and put all his focus on protecting their lead in the Premier League.

PSV’s dramatic late win in Sevilla earlier in the evening meant that Arsenal kicked off still needing a point to be certain of qualification and a victory to secure top spot in Group B.
And it was clear that Arteta was leaving nothing to chance as he named his strongest available team to get the job done as quickly as possible.
Having suffered a surprise defeat in Lens eight weeks earlier, it was imperative that Arsenal didn’t give their opponents any kind of encouragement this time.
And boy did they follow those orders to the letter.
Kai Havertz almost gave them the dream start Arteta wanted when he headed narrowly wide from Takehiro Tomiyasu’s deep cross.
But having scored his first Arsenal goal from open play at Brentford at the weekend, the £65million German international didn’t have to wait long for his second, bundling in from close range after Gabriel Jesus had pounced on Salis Abdul Samed’s defensive error.
Jesus added a second midway through the first half, sitting Kevin Danso on the seat of his pants before coolly slotting home.
Saka joined the party when the ball flew in off his midriff after keeper Brice Samba could only parry Gabriel Martinelli’s 24th-minute shot.
And when Martinelli made it four with an unstoppable shot into the far corner three minutes later, we were all checking the record books for Arsenal’s biggest European win.
That search intensified in first-half stoppage time when skipper Martin Odegaard volleyed home from another peach of a cross by the overlapping Tomiyasu.
It meant that all five Arsenal forwards had netted in the same half, which surely had to be some kind of landmark.
Last night’s game was exactly five years since the 17-year-old Saka made his Arsenal debut in a Europa League game against Vorskla Poltava.
And just like his team, the young winger has come on leaps and bounds since then.
The England star has become accustomed to being kicked from pillar to post by opposing defenders who simply can not cope with his speed and his skill.
Last night was no exception as his opponents took turns to stick the boot in, so it was a blessed relief when he was replaced by Reiss Nelson midway through the second half with the game already well and truly won.
Havertz barely put a foot wrong with his passing
Declan Rice ran the show in midfield once again
Tomiyasu, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Declan Rice were also handed an early cut by Arteta as his thoughts turned to Saturday’s home game against Wolves.
But there was still time for Jorginho to bury an 86th-minute penalty after Abdukodir Khusanov had handled in the area.
Everyone at the Emirates is painfully aware that the Champions League is the one trophy still missing from their CV despite qualifying for 19 consecutive seasons under Arsene Wenger.
The ambitious Arteta is determined to put that right but admits that his team are still a long way from giving sleepless nights to the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Yet they are clearly heading in the right direction and this resounding victory will only intensify the confidence in the camp.
That 7-0 win against Slavia Prague in 2007 might be safe for now. But these young Gunners are determined to make Champions League history and Arteta won’t let anyone rest on their laurels. More
