New footage shows Harry Kane has to be held back from Man Utd star Alejandro Garnacho during furious row

NEW footage has emerged of Harry Kane being held back by team-mates after raging at Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho. The Red Devils lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich in their must-win final Champions League group game on Tuesday at Old Trafford.

Kane began complaining to referee Espen Eskas
But players from both teams squared up after a “naughty incident” on 24 minutes.
Garnacho was attempting to get past Kingsley Coman, but ended up sending the Bayern winger into the pitchside hoardings.
And the Old Trafford drop off between the pitch and advertising boards is a steep one.
Coman had used his strength to block Garnacho’s run, but the 19-year-old tried to keep his balance which sent the Frenchman flying.

His Bayern team-mates raced over to square up to the United man, who soon had Rasmus Hojlund and Raphael Varane backing him up.
But a different angle now shows Kane’s angry expression as he was the first player who sprinted towards the young Argentinian.
Kane stopped just before Garnacho’s face, as the United youngster walked in the opposite direction.
Fans heaped praise on Alphonso Davies, who acted as a barrier between the England captain and Garnacho.

Fortunately, Coman escaped the incident unscathed and the referee eventually continued with the game without punishment.
Coman eventually got the last laugh, after his 71st minute goal sent United out of Europe altogether.
However, Kane was all-smiles during his interview with TNT Sports crew Laura Woods, and United legends Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes.
The Red Devils suffered four defeats in six games, winning just once, which is also a new record Champions League low for them as they finished rock bottom of Group A.

Champions League last-16 draw permutations as Newcastle and giants PSG and AC Milan look to secure qualification

WEDNESDAY night sees the last round of fixtures in the Champions League group stage before we know who has made it through into the last 16.Groups A to D were all decided on Tuesday, with Manchester United most notably crashing out of their group – and European competition altogether.

Newcastle were drawn in this year’s group of death, alongside Borussia Dortmund, PSG and AC Milan, and, unsurprisingly, that group is the most open at this stage.
Dortmund are top on 10 points and through to the last 16 already.
They will go through as group winners if they can avoid defeat against PSG.
PSG, second in the group, will go through as group winners if they can win away at Dortmund.
    READ MORE FOOTBALL NEWS
However, they can still go through as runners up with a DEFEAT, if Newcastle and AC Milan draw, or Milan win.
While a draw against Dortmund will also be enough, as long as Newcastle don’t win.
That’s because Eddie Howe’s side have the head-to-head tie-breaker over the PSG.
Newcastle must get three points at home to Milan if they are to have any hope of getting into the last 16.

A draw will see Newcastle qualify for the Europa League on goal difference, with their own head-to-head with Milan even.
Milan need to beat Newcastle and hope PSG lose to Dortmund.
Group E has little to be decided with both Atletico Madrid and Lazio through to the last 16 already – but they are playing each other, meaning whoever wins will go through top of their group.
Atletico only need a draw to go through as group winners as they are top by one point.
Manchester City have Group G sewn up with RB Leipzig heading through in second.
And in Group H, Shakhtar and Porto will battle it out to join Barcelona in the last 16. More

Laura Woods request refused by Harry Kane live on air as Bayern Munich star says he doesn’t want to ’embarrass’ himself

HARRY KANE was hilariously put on the spot last night by Laura Woods – but he refused to “embarrass” himself live on air.The England captain was back on these shores to help Bayern Munich secure a 1-0 Champions League win at Manchester United.

That result dumped the Red Devils out of Europe completely, with the striker creating the chance for Kingsley Coman to score the only goal of the game.
Kane, who left Tottenham for Bayern in a £104million move in August, joined much-loved TNT Sports host Woods and pundits Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes afterwards to discuss how he was settling in Germany.
After revealing that he had been struggling with the admin side of moving his family to a new country, Woods then had a request for the 30-year-old star.
The ex-talkSPORT presenter, who had been praised by fans for her latest bold choice of all-leather outfit, asked: ““How’s your German coming on?”

Kane replied gingerly with just an “Err” before Ferdinand interrupted and said: “Give me something. Just a little something.”
Kane responded: “Nah, I can’t. I’m saving that for the summer when we’re there for the Euros. But I’m doing a couple of lessons a week, so…”
Woods then joked: “Not well, then.”
To which Kane admitted: “Basically, yeah. I don’t want to embarrass myself!”

The icon, who has scored 22 goals for Bayern already, then went into depth about the difficulties of settling in Germany with his wife and four kids.
They had been living in hotel until they recently found a permanent residence to move in to after Christmas as he added: “It’s been difficult. It was my first move in my career.
“I probably didn’t realise how much goes into it. Not just with the new team, but the personal stuff with the family. I’ve got four kids.
“Luckily, we’ve found a house now and we’ll be looking to move in after the winter break.
“It’s nice to have that settled. I guess the only problem is if I stop scoring when they come, I might have to send them back!”

Man Utd legend ‘worried about Ten Hag’ as he names two managers who could implement free-flowing style of play

JAAP STAM is “worried” about Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United after the club tamely dropped out of the Champions League on Tuesday. The Manchester United legend is confused about the Dutchman’s playing style and points out two Premier League bosses who have delivered the approach he had at Ajax.

United not only fell out of the Champions League, but out of European competition altogether following the Bayern defeat.
Finishing bottom of Group A meant Ten Hag’s troops failed to even make the Europa League.
And former Red Devils defender Stam is concerned about Ten Hag, who is set to face increased pressure after the disastrous result.
Ten Hag has clashed with ex-player Cristiano Ronaldo as well as current stars Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho.
    READ MORE MAN UTD NEWS
And certain portions of the media have been banned from press conferences.
Stam, who won the Treble with United in 1999, told the Stick to Football podcast by Sky Bet: “He has got to be worried and thinking about what’s going to happen now.
“You can ban players, but it’s also about man-management of course and how to work with and handle players.
“There was the Cristiano Ronaldo thing, the Jadon Sancho thing, Raphael Varane probably – I don’t know if something’s happened over there.

“There’s the thing with the press now and banning journalists from press conferences. It doesn’t work in your favour as a manager.
“You need to have peace and quiet… you don’t want to pay too much attention to other things like players and the press.
“You need to fully focus, and I don’t think you want to talk about players or what players think about you as a manager.
“I worry a little bit for him and that’s why it would be good if he gets the results.”
Ten Hag had a successful first term at Old Trafford finishing third in the league and winning the EFL Cup.
But this season and £400million later the Dutchman’s side has regressed.
Compared to his success at Ajax where he won three Eredivisie titles, Stam cannot understand why the Man Utd boss has not delivered the same success at Old Trafford.
The ex-Ajax star even suggested how Spurs’ Ange Postecoglou and Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi have been able to reflect the free-flowing style Ten Hag once had.
He added: “I think he’s a good coach and I’m wondering this myself and we even asked him for ViaPlay – when are we going to see this style of play we saw at Ajax?
“He made a certain comment and he mentioned that he could never play the way he played at Ajax over here.
“I’m surprised because I’ve seen Roberto De Zerbi and Tottenham with Ange Postecoglou and how they’re playing.”

But things could get worse for the Red Devils before they get better.
Although they sit sixth in the Premier League table, Sunday sees a daunting visit to in-form Liverpool, who thrashed them 7-0 in the same fixture last term.

Inside Man Utd’s worst EVER Champions League campaign as they set horror unwanted records and crash out of Europe

MANCHESTER UNITED were dumped out of Europe last night after losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.Erik ten Hag’s side went into the night with a faint chance of progressing, but in truth it felt like they were finally put out of their misery by the German giants.

The Red Devils’ European campaign this year was nothing short of a disaster, and one that fans will hope to forget in a hurry.
From unwanted records to baffling collapses, United’s pitiful effort that saw them accrue just four points has set all the wrong kinds of records.
Their 4-3 defeat at Bayern Munich on matchday one set the tone for things to come, with Andre Onana making his first, but not last, blunder of the campaign.
The Cameroonian, who arrived to much fanfare in the summer, somehow allowed Leroy Sane’s shot to squirm beneath him and in for Bayern to go 1-0 up.
    READ MORE ON MAN UTD
Two late goals made the scoreline seem closer than the game ever really felt in truth – but some fans may wonder what might have been had Onana not gifted Bayern the lead.
Man Utd returned home for matchday two, hosting a Galatasaray side that had never won a match in England in 10 attempts.
Until they came up against Ten Hag’s Red Devils.
United had taken the lead on the night, only to quickly be pegged back by former Red Devil Wilfried Zaha, who profited on atrocious defending to get on the end of Davinson Sanchez’s long punt to score.

Rasmus Hojlund gave United another lead, but more woeful defending, this time starting from a Galatasaray throw-in, allowed the Turkish giants to level, much to the £72million summer signing’s frustration.
Onana then blundered again, passing the ball straight to Dries Mertens, who was subsequently fouled in the box by Casemiro.
The Brazilian was sent off for the challenge, handing United an uphill battle.
And while Mauro Icardi missed the resulting penalty, the former Paris Saint-Germain star made amends five minutes later to bag the winner – with even Wanda Nara laughing at United.
The Red Devils grabbed their one and only win on matchday three, edging past Copenhagen 1-0 at Old Trafford.
But even then they had to ride their luck – with Onana saving a last-gasp penalty, with the Danish side having hit the post earlier in the match.

In the return game in Denmark, United had been cruising at 2-0.
That is, until Marcus Rashford’s controversial 42nd minute red card.
Ten Hag watched on as his side collapsed, immediately being pegged back to 2-1 and conceding a penalty before half-time, from which Copenhagen levelled.
Bruno Fernandes gave the ten-men a 3-2 lead with just 20 minutes remaining, but Copenhagen managed to hit back again for 3-3, before 17-year-old Roony Bardghji scored an 87th minute winner to leave the Red Devils, red faced.
Matchday five saw United travel to Turkey to face Galatasaray again, and they were greeted by a torrential downpour.
The gloomy weather may have been a sign of things to come, not that Ten Hag would have guessed it when his side went 2-0 up.
Again they collapsed, however, and again Onana was at the heart of it.
Chelsea flop Hakim Ziyech got Galatasaray back in the game with a tame free-kick, which surprisingly beat Onana despite being fired in on his side.
Scott McTominay restored United’s two-goal lead, only for arguably Onana’s worst mistake of the lot, this time a flap at another Ziyech free-kick, to hand Galatasaray a lifeline.
And they took it with both hands, Kerem Akturkoglu equalising 20 minutes from time

While Man Utd toiled against Bayern Munich last night, amazingly it was Galatasaray and Copenhagen fighting it out to join the German giants in the knockouts.
The Red Devils had needed to beat Bayern and hope that the other game finished a draw in order to advance.
Kingsley Coman’s 71st minute winner for Bayern killed any hopes United had of an unlikely escape.
While Lukas Lerager’s 58th minute strike saw Copenhagen complete a miraculous group stage campaign with a 1-0 win that saw them advance.
Man Utd leaked 15 goals in total in just six games, the most ever conceded by an English team in the Champions League group stage.
They also became the first English side to ever come bottom of a Champions League group twice, having previously done so in the 2005-06 campaign.
As per Opta, United have now lost as many times in 24 games this season, 12, as they did in 62 matches across the entirety of last term.
They have also been dumped out of the Champions League at the group stage in three of their seven appearances since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
That’s as many times as it happened in 18 Champions League seasons under Ferguson’s watch.
This was also the first time that United have lost two of their three Champions League group stage home games since 1997.
Despite the damning statistics, Ten Hag does not reflect ruefully on the campaign.
He told TNT Sports after last night’s match: “I don’t look with regret.
“We want to be in the Champions League, the target was always to qualify for the knock-outs, but we have to learn from it, and accept we played some good football.
“Rasmus Hojlund scored five times, we had some very good performances, and we have to take that into the Premier League.
“We want to be back in the Champions League again and so we have to qualify again.”

The under-pressure boss will take his side to Anfield to face in-form Liverpool this Sunday.

Rio Ferdinand names Wayne Rooney as his ‘worst Man Utd team-mate’ in BBC podcast

RIO FERDINAND has explained how Wayne Rooney was his worst team-mate to play with due to the number of arguments they had on the field.Ferdinand and Rooney played in one of the most successful Manchester United teams of all time under Sir Alex Ferguson, winning several Premier Leagues and a Champions League together.

During their ten years together at United, Rooney established himself as the club’s all time record goalscorer and Ferdinand became a Premier League hall of fame defender.
But Ferdinand has revealed that he and Rooney would have their differences on the pitch which led to multiple arguments during games.
The former England centre-back was appearing on rugby league legend Rob Burrow’s podcast.
Burrow suffers from motor neurone disease and asks questions using an eye-gaze machine.

He asks each guest seven questions as he looks to understand how top players operate.
Ferdinand explained his desire to get the best out of Rooney on the field led to arguments.
He said: “The worst team-mate I probably had the most arguments with Wayne Rooney to be honest with you. Never came to blows, it was on the pitch.
“We never argued in training really, it was just match day, we probably argued once every two or three games, effing and blinding, screaming at each other because I wanted more from him.

“The biggest thing for me with Wayne is he wanted to play 30 or 40 yard passes like Paul Scholes, and he could do it, he was that good. I wanted him to score 30 or 40 goals a season, because he could.
“We played one season and he scored 30-something goals and he wasn’t happy because he wasn’t getting involved in the game and dictating it, he was having to play high. And I couldn’t get my head around it. That’s the top striker, I want you to be that because I know you can be that.
“But he loved football that much he wanted to play football like he was playing in the park, and we used to argue, I’d tell him to shoot and he’d scream back at me. But they were good arguments.
The internal arguments proved to be fruitful as Rooney went on to score 253 goals and become United’s all time top goalscorer.
He would re-join his boyhood club Everton in 2017, where he did operate deeper in the team – either as an attacking or defensive midfielder.
Rooney is the current manager of Birmingham in the Championship – but has endured a tough period since taking over in October. More
