      And he scored 158 goals before departing the club in 1967 to join Dundee United.
      The winger, who remained a regular at matches despite his health battle, was also part of the Rangers team that reached the 1961 European Cup Winners’ Cup final against Fiorentina.
      Wilson won the title on four occasions at Rangers plus five Scottish Cups and two League Cups.
      He also enjoyed a successful career at international level.

      Fans quickly flooded onto Twitter after the sad news to pay their respect to the icon.

      Billy Bingham dead age 90: Legendary Northern Ireland boss who took nation to two World Cups dies

      NORTHERN IRELAND’S most successful football manager Billy Bingham has died at the age of 90.Bingham reached legendary status after leading the boys in green to the 1982 and 1986 World Cup finals, having played in the 1958 finals himself.

      The Irish Football Association said it had learned of Bingham’s death with “great sadness”.
      Northern Ireland’s football governing body issued the following statement: “Billy holds a unique place in the football hearts of Northern Ireland in that he both played at and managed in World Cup final tournaments with Northern Ireland, being part of Peter Doherty’s historic team of 1958 in Sweden and then managing Northern Ireland in the 1982 and 1986 finals.”
      Bingham also enjoyed a successful career as a player with some impressive stints at Sunderland, Luton Town and Everton.
      The former forward retired in 1965 after a 17-year playing career and immediately switched to management.

      Bingham managed a number of notable teams, such as Everton, Greece, PAOK and more.
      He enjoyed two stints as Northern Ireland manager with his first between 1967 and 1971.
      But his second proved to be more successful when he took the reins in 1980 until his departure in 1993.
      He led Northern Ireland to one of the greatest World Cup finals upsets in the 1982 when they beat hosts Spain 1-0 with Gerry Armstrong’s winner.

      Born in Middlesbrough, Farrell joined the Teesside club as a kid before moving to Leeds United in 1998.
      Farrell never made an appearance for either side, but he went on to score 71 goals in 325 games for clubs including Carlisle and York.
      And Farrell’s career also saw him star for the likes of Exeter City and Rushden & Diamonds.
      The ace also won three caps for England Under-16s, scoring once at the Euro U16s tournament in 1999.

      Tito – who fought on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao vs Brandon Rios in 2013 – is survived by two daughters aged 13 and five, plus his wife Didin Nurul Wijayanti.
      Dindin thanked her husband’s fans for all their support during this difficult time in an emotional statement released by boxing promoter Rosa Kusuma.
      Kusuma, who arranged several of Tito’s fights, said: “She thanks all the boxing people who always give support and prayers for Hero Tito.
      “Thank you for all your kindness to us and our family.”

      As a person, Dickerson was noted for his cheerfulness and professionalism as a reporter.

      Even while he battled illness, he worked to raise money for the Vaughn McClure Foundation, which he helped create to commemorate the memory of McClure, a former colleague and ESPN reporter who died in 2020.
      Dickerson called his wife Caitlin an “inspiration” in 2019 because she “refused to let her cancer dictate her life,” according to ESPN.
      When he was diagnosed with cancer in early 2021, he turned his resolve into a full schedule that included parenting Parker, fundraising for cancer research, and covering the Chicago Bears for ESPN internet and ESPN 1000 radio.
      He also joined the board of the Vaughn McClure Foundation, a non-profit he helped create to memorialize McClure, a former Bears beat reporter and ESPN Atlanta Falcons reporter who died in 2020.
      Dickerson was the emcee at the foundation’s first fundraising dinner in Chicago on October 14.

      When news of Dickerson’s death broke, he was described as “the consummate professional” by the Bears in a statement.
      “JD took a great deal of pride in his coverage of the Bears for 20 years,” said the statement, according to ESPN. “He was a true professional and even better person. JD always was one of the first media members to arrive in the press box on game day, with a hello and a smile that could brighten anyone’s day. He was one of a kind and will truly be missed.”
      Dickerson was regarded as someone who won the respect of teammates who valued his devotion to precision, according to San Francisco 49ers place-kicker Robbie Gould, who spent 11 seasons with the Bears.
      “He always wrote a true story,” said Gould. “He always wrote what was happening at the moment. He didn’t try to back the bus up over somebody. He tried to get it exactly how the story was. … I think you saw a lot of guys give him a lot of credit because they knew he would write it right.
      “He was a mentor to me as someone who aspires to get into the media world when football is over,” Gould said, “and I looked up to him.”

      THE mother of Nascar legend Dale Earnhardt Sr and grandmother of Dale Earnhardt Jr died on Christmas evening at the age of 91. The famed Nascar family released a statement on Sunday confirming Martha Earnhardt’s death, calling her “the matriarch to multiple generations of race fans.”

      “As we grieve her loss and begin to imagine life without our beloved ‘Mamaw,’ we find solace in knowing she is at peace in eternal glory and in joyous reunion with her husband Ralph and sons Dale, Randy and Danny,” Kelley Earnhardt Miller posted on Twitter.
      Kelley is the daughter of Martha and sister of Dale Earnhardt Jr.
      In an obituary posted to the Nascar website, Zack Albert wrote that Martha was a “treasure” to millions of fans, and regularly opened her home to travelers visiting the “Dale Trail,” a series of racing landmarks around Cabarrus County.
      Martha only raced once, Albert wrote, in a “powder puff derby” at Hickory Speedway.
      “She crashed, lamenting the lack of practice before the event,” Albert wrote.
      “I just wasn’t meant to be a race-car driver,” Martha reportedly said after the attempt.

      Nascar officials also released a statement grieving the loss.
      “We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Martha Earnhardt,” the Nascar statement read.
      “Martha was not only the matriarch of a legendary Nascar family, but a beloved and respected figure within our industry and throughout the fanbase.
      “We will dearly miss her grace, compassion and welcoming demeanor.”
      Dale Earnhardt Sr was known as one of the best Nascar drivers of all time, winning a total of 76 Winston Cup races and seven Winston Cup championships.
      During the Daytona 500 in February 2001, Earnhardt Sr died in a three-car crash during the final lap of the race.
      Dale Earnhardt Jr, now semi-retired, was nicknamed the “Pied Piper of Daytona.”
      He won the Daytona 500 in 2004 and 2014 and totaled 26 wins in the Cup Series.
