Arsenal have only beat The Reds once in the last seven meetings between the two sides – a 3-2 home win at The Emirates last season.
And they haven’t won away to the Reds since September 2012.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have been drawn against lower-league opposition in our simulation – Salford.
The Red Devils’ trip to the Peninsula Stadium would be a dream outcome for United legend and Salford co-owner Gary Neville.

The Sky Sports pundit celebrated during commentary as Salford beat Leeds in the previous round, and he spoke about his ambition to play United after the win.
But he refused to reveal which team he would cheer on if the two clubs met in the next round.
Elsewhere in our draw Chelsea have also been given a favourable tie away at Mansfield.
The Blues have to overcome AFC Wimbledon to reach the third round but if they did they would be amongst the favourites to reach the latter stages of the competition.

Keeper, 42, comes full circle as he plays for boyhood club in Carabao Cup – 23 years after facing same team in FINAL

JOE MURPHY played for Tranmere against Leicester last night, 23 years after starting a League Cup final between the same two teams.Tranmere met the Foxes at the old Wembley following a sensational run to the final in 1999-2000.

In the showpiece match, 18-year-old Murphy was given the nod between the sticks.
It wasn’t quite to be for John Aldridge’s men, who were beaten 2-1 on that occasion thanks to Matt Elliott’s double.
The match remains a special memory for Murphy, however, who went on to be capped by Ireland and play in the Premier League.
He returned to boyhood club Tranmere in 2019, largely serving as their experienced backup goalkeeper.

Murphy has played in this season’s League Cup matches, however, and was last night given another opportunity to face Leicester.
Ahead of the match, he told The Guardian: “It’s all a bit surreal.
“I’ve been full circle club-wise with coming back three years ago to where it all started for me, and now this. It does make you feel old.”
Murphy, 42, acquitted himself well against Enzo Maresca’s Foxes, but was powerless to prevent his side falling to a 2-0 defeat.

Wilfred Ndidi gave Leicester the lead on 55 minutes, before Jamie Vardy’s header sealed progression to round three.
Eight of Tranmere’s current squad were not born when Murphy played for them in the League Cup final.
On this remarkable stat, he added: “It’s crazy, but nice.”
Murphy left Tranmere for West Bromwich Albion in 2002.
On his Baggies debut he saved a penalty from Michael Owen with his first touch, following Russell Hoult’s red card.
Stints with Sunderland and Walsall followed, before more long-term stays at Scunthorpe and Coventry.
He also played for Huddersfield, Chesterfield, Bury and Shrewsbury before re-signing for Tranmere.

Tottenham KNOCKED OUT of Carabao Cup by Fulham after freak own goal and penalty shootout heartbreak

ANGE POSTECOGLOU may have won the Treble in Scotland but he looks to have caught the Tottenham cup curse.London rivals Fulham dumped Spurs out of the Carabao Cup on penalties after Kenny Tete’s shooting boots redeemed the right-back.

Ivan Perisic was unable to stop Micky van de Ven’s comical own-goalCredit: Getty
The Cottagers defender ran off the pitch to change his boots, leaving his side with ten men when Spurs bagged their equaliser.
Fulham had taken the lead through a comical Micky van de Ven own goal, his second in four games for the club, before Tete’s mishap allowed the visitors back in.
Neither could find a way through and Fulham capitalised after Davinson Sanchez saw his penalty saved.
Despite six and nine changes respectively from Fulham and Spurs, both managers named sides full of senior players.

But given that this competition is Tottenham’s best bet of ending their trophy drought, which has now extended into its 16th season, many Spurs fans would have hoped for a stronger eleven, with the second string getting off to a sloppy start.
Sanchez, one of a few Spurs players in the shop window tonight, sent a slow pass out wide looking for Emerson Royal who was beaten to the ball by Antonee Robinson.
The rapid American then poked the ball past Sanchez and added to his embarrassment by racing around the Colombia defender to cross for Rodrigo Muniz, who headed wide.
Spurs’ insistence on playing out from the back was causing early issues, with Silva’s side pressing feverishly and the visitors struggling to cope.

Sanchez was having a particularly torrid time and was turned inside out for the opener.
Fulham turned up the pressure and skipper Tom Cariney pushed forward down the left sending Sanchez into a spin and crossing low where Van de Ven pulled off the greatest finish he’ll ever manage – just at the wrong end.
The low cross missed Harrison Reed but caught Van de Ven’s heel and looped over Fraser Forster and couldn’t be stopped by a flying Ivan Perisic.
The Dutchman was then sent sliding by Muniz as he tried to keep the Cottagers out, allowing the striker to fire at Forster.
Despite Spurs recovering some composure after the goal Forster had to remain sharp and pulled off a fine stop from Muniz once again, diving low to palm away his close range header from Adama Traore’s cross.
Tottenham were showing none of the intensity or creativity they have displayed in the Premier League under Postecoglou so far.

Tete was the difference in the shootoutCredit: Reuters
The former Celtic boss was getting tetchy with players over their positioning, getting on Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg’s case during the first half – the Dane starting despite his future being up in the air.
But it was the ineffectual Giovani Lo Celso who was hooked at the break, replaced by youngster Dane Scarlett.
Postecoglou certainly said something direct before sending Spurs back out into the west London drizzle.
The visitors picked the pace up after the break, with former Fulham man Manor Solomon darting forward with more energy than anyone showed in the first half.
Richarlison spun and saw his deflected shot tipped over the bar by Marek Rodak.
Then it was time for Fulham’s defence to better the circus offered up by Tottenham in the first half.
Tete was waving a broken boot towards his bench before working out that, with all the Fulham staff the opposite side to the tunnel, it was probably best he made a dash for the changing room himself to grab a new one.
And it turned out to be a huge amateur clanger.
With forward Bobby De Cordova-Reid having to fill in for Tete, Perisic seized his chance and drove at the makeshift right-back, shifted past him and crossed for Richarlison to head home his first goal of the season at the far post.
A surly Silva fumed from his viewpoint in the new Riverside Stand watching his former striker benefit from a moment of baffling incompetence.
Tete sheepishly emerged from the tunnel with a pair of bright white new boots on just as the celebrations died down – not the best look on the day Fulham signed a new right-back in Timothy Castange.
Sub Harry Wilson saw a well-worked effort blocked by a sliding Sanchez before, down the other end, Rodak dived well to tip Solomon’s shot wide.
Spurs had Son Heung-min and James Maddison on now trying to find a way through to avoid penalties.

It was Fulham who came closest to stealing it late on, with Forster rushing out and making another important save to deny Wilson in the 90th minute.
With no breakthrough, it was straight to penalties and Fulham held their cool with a string of fine efforts, making the most of Sanchez’s poor strike when Tete saved himself from an almighty telling off. More

Ange Postecoglou says he only picks ‘winners’ when asked if Richarlison will play in Carabao Cup to break goal-drought

ANGE POSTECOGLOU will only pick Richarlison at Fulham on Tuesday for the right reasons — not just  to give his goal-shy ace a pick-me-up.The straight-talking Aussie says he only selects “winners” for  Tottenham and is not one for sentimental decisions.

Postecoglou hauled Richarlison off an hour into Spurs’ 2-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday after he missed two sitters.
And asked if he would start the 26-year-old in the upcoming Carabao Cup tie to help him bag his first goal of the season, Postecoglou replied: “No, I pick teams I think will win games.
“I am not going to put him in to try and help him in some individual  pursuit.
“I will put Richy in the team if I think we can win with him in, not because I am trying to get him into a certain space.”

Spurs face a Fulham side bossed by Marco Silva, the man who gave  Richarlison his big break in English football by signing him when he was Watford manager back in 2017.
Despite his tough start to the season,  Silva says the forward has what it takes to replace Harry Kane.
Richarlison has played more games under Silva — who also signed him from the Hornets  for £40million when he became Everton chief — than any other boss, scoring 26 goals in 82 matches for the Portuguese tactician.
Silva said: “Richarlison is a very good player but it is going to be tough for him.

“He is a good lad and a really hard worker.  He has worked really hard to achieve what he has and get to this level. I know because I was responsible for bringing him to England and to another club in England.
“To be at Tottenham and No 9 for his national team, I know he has the talent to get to that level.”
Postecoglou says he has not had much luck in Cup draws but is looking  forward to travelling across London.
He said: “I love winning. I don’t care what it is. I love winning and the players know that.
“I don’t care if it is a cup, playing in the car park or on a rooftop.
“I haven’t had great luck with draws in my career. I expect them to be challenging.
“But that’s all right, it’s a good challenge.”

    Burton 0 Leicester 2
Relegated Leicester avoided suffering from Brewers’ drop as Enzo Maresca’s new look team earned a trip to Tranmere – with Kelechi Iheanacho showing the gulf in class thanks to a sensational opener.
The Foxes squeezed the home defence with a high press to win back possession and Dennis Praet set up the cross for skipper Marc Albrighton.
Kelechi Iheanacho delivers a deft opener for the FoxesCredit: Rex
His delicate cenre into the heart of the Burton box caught defenders Jake Caprice and John Brayford busy ball-watching, allowing Iheanacho to ghost between them.
On the plus side, they had a perfect view of Iheanacho’s magical finish as the Nigerian conjured up a mid-air backheel volley with his back to goal to leave ‘keeper Jamal Blackman gasping.
Classy or just plain cocky, it set the tone as Burton were forced to chase shadows for most of the night.
Dino Maamria’s boys hung on grimly and almost snatched an equaliser on 45 minutes when Ryan Sweeney’s header was hurtling towards the net until Callum Doyle stuck out a leg to clear.
Leicester’s response was swift, slick and merciless as Doyle then played a quick free kick which caught Burton napping.
Iheanacho sprinted clear and drew Blackman from his goal before setting up Wilfred Ndidi who expertly found the top corner to double the Foxes’ advantage in first-half stoppage time.
Burton’s 6ft 7″ goalie Blackman did well after the break to prevent Rekeem Harper from finding his own net from close range. Then Harry Winks fired a volley into a yellow wall of Burton defenders before departing to an ovation from his new Foxes fans.
Spurs fans keenest for a trophy push
Fulham vs Tottenham in the South and Nottingham Forest vs Burnley in the North are the all-Prem ties lighting up the second-round draw.
And ironically it’s fans of Spurs – one of the Big Six clubs, traditionally at least – who seem most keen on their side fielding as close to a full-strength side as possible.
That’s because Tottenham are trophyless for 15 years.
In contrast, Forest and Burnley supporters are far more focused on staying up in the Premier League.
    Dons joy at bagging Blues
AFC Wimbledon fans are ecstatic at their reward for a late 2-1 comeback win over Championship side Coventry.
The League Two team will visit posh Prem neighbours Chelsea in the Carabao Cup second round.
“Get in, what a night that will be,” said one.
“Oh my god” and “unreal” were two responses.
And in a similar vein: “What a draw,” and “It’s happening”.

‘Things are about to get tasty, baby’
A Wrexham fan has labelled their manager’s second-round clash with old club Bradford as “When Parky vs Sparky”.
Phil Parkinson’s EFL new boys will take on League Two rivals Bradford, managed by Manchester United legend Mark ‘Sparky’ Hughes.
One supporter posted: “Vs Parkinson in the League Cup? Behave.”
Upbeat Dragons’ supporters added: “Round 3 here we come!” and “Sold out”
Wrexham’s Hollywood A-list owner Ryan Reynolds is of course well used to drama.
But one sensitive fan sounded like he might not be able to take Reynolds’ movies like Deadpool – judging by his reaction to the draw.
He wrote: “Thank God its not Cardiff my heart couldn’t handle that.”
But another supporter treated the pairing vs Bradford with a line worthy of the next Deadpool film: “Things are about to get tasty baby.”
Spurs fans beg Ange to take Fulham seriously
Tottenham fans are begging new boss Ange Postecoglou to take the Carabao Cup “seriously” after a “damn tough draw” at Prem rivals Fulham.
Frustrated Spurs supporters last enjoyed silverware with 2008 EFL Cup glory.
And one pleaded after tonight’s second-round draw: “Take. It. Serious.”
A second wrote: “Hopefully we take this competition seriously.”
A third sounded fired up for the derby: “Local game, places to play for.”
But a pessimistic fourth fan posted: “Damn tough draw early on.”

Chelsea fans nervous after drawing Dons
Chelsea fans seemed to react with as much fear as joy after the Prem giants drew League Two ‘neighbours’ AFC Wimbledon in round two.
Fear – because they believe defeat would leave new boss Mauricio Pochettino with red faces.
Joy (for a few supporters) – as they reckon it gives Poch an excellent kickstart in his bid for silverware.
Representing the nervous side, one fan posted: “If we somehow lose this, we are never going to hear the end of it from rival fans.”
And on the positive front were messages like this: “Easy win” and “We can rotate”.
A more practical note was sounded by this supporter: “We go hard for this. It’s a must win.”
    O’Neill having a ball…
Fans couldn’t believe Martin O’Neill’s antics as he did the draw.
The ex-Leicester boss appeared to talk to the balls rather than the microphone as he helped pick the second-round ties.
“So funny!” said one viewer,” and “What is he doing?!” asked MORE than one other.

    Giant-Gillers again?
First-round “giantkillers” Gillingham have an intriguing trip to Prem newcomers Luton.
The Gills deservedly beat Championship side Southampton 3-1 last night.
So they must fancy their chances again as the Hatters are likely to rest players.
