    Peter Crouch reveals career ‘finished’ when wife Abbey Clancy was locked out of their house as he played Call of Duty

    PETER CROUCH has revealed his career “finished” when he was too busy playing Call of Duty to realise his wife was locked out of the house. The ex-Tottenham and Liverpool striker told the hilarious tale which ended with Abbey Clancy fuming as he gamed with 12-year-olds.

    Crouch announced his retirement in 2019 at the age of 38 after a long and memorable career.
    He has since been enjoying gaming in his down time – along with plenty of other projects.
    The former England ace told of the moment he was left considering hanging up his boots after a session on the popular shooting game Call of Duty infuriated Abbey.
    He told Chris Moyles on Radio X: “My career finished when Abb was locked out the house and I was playing Call of Duty.

    “I had the headphones on and the mic and she was locked out the house and I had no idea.
    “I was telling people to ‘get down! Frag out!’ And she’s been outside for ages banging on the door. She’s gone to the neighbours and they let them in.

    “And I’m still in there, dark room, full headphones on, telling 12-year-olds to get down and cover me.
    “The look she gave me was like ‘you loser!’ And that look was the moment I thought I better leave this.”

    Fans not impressed with Lionel Messi’s Call of Duty character as they spot glaring errors with appearance

    FOOTBALL fans are outraged after Call of Duty unveiled a new Lionel Messi character.The Argentina star is the latest footballer to be introduced on the video game as part of a World Cup crossover.

    Brazil hero Neymar and France midfielder Paul Pogba have also been re-imagined on CoD Modern Warfare 2.
    A short clip showing Call of Duty Messi was released on the game’s official Twitter account.
    It has racked up 2.1million views but many fans have been left with a sour taste in their mouth as they picked out a number of faults with the character.
    The CoD version of the Paris Saint-Germain star does not bear Messi’s large sleeve tattoo on his right arm.

    The character also uses his right arm to pull the trigger of his gun despite Messi famously being both left-footed and left-handed.
    One outraged fan responded to the video saying: “They didn’t put his tats on him??”
    Another added: “He’s too tall.”
    A third said: “But why does he look more like Cesc Fàbregas.”

    What did Juri Vips say?
    After being shot on Call of Duty, Juri Vips was alleged to have said: “Oh my God, f*** this n*****.”
    In another incident on the same stream, Vips was handed a pink Red Bull hat which he refused to put on.
    When asked why he wouldn’t wear it, he was heard saying: “Because it’s gay.”
    Juri Vips has since apologised, saying: “I wish to unreservedly apologise for the offensive language used during a live gaming stream earlier today.
    “This language is entirely unacceptable and does not portray the values and principles that I hold.
    “I deeply regret my actions and this is not the example I wish to set. I will cooperate with the investigation fully.”

    A Red Bull statement read: “Red Bull Racing has suspended junior driver Juri Vips from all team duties with immediate effect, pending a full investigation into the incident.
    “As an organisation, we condemn abuse of any kind and have a zero-tolerance policy to racist language and behaviours within our organisation.”

    Will Juri Vips continue racing?
    While Vips has been suspended from the Red Bull junior team, the HiTech Grand Prix team he races for in F2 has yet to communicate a decision on whether he will be allowed to race at the upcoming British Grand Prix.
    However, HiTech owner Oliver Oakes did say: “I was shocked and appalled to hear about this incident.
    “The comments made by Juri are offensive and completely not reflective of Hitech’s inclusive values.

    Jack Grealish volleys a GRENADE in new Call of Duty advert leaving fans in stitches

    JACK GREALISH has left football fans in fits of laughter after volleying a GRENADE in the new Call of Duty advert.The Aston Villa star can be seen playing the popular video game on his sofa, before the ad then enters a TV screen with a virtual Grealish.

    The ad then turns into the TV and a virtual Grealish controlling a grenade
    And he then proceeds to acrobatically volley the grenade away
    And as the explosive is lobbed in front of him, he proceeds to scissor kick it away.
    The Call of Duty clip was of great entertainment to a number of football fans across social media.
    One said: “That’s the goal he’s gonna score for England in the World Cup final against France after being subbed on at the 80th minute to win the game.”
    And another added: “Oh please don’t tell me Jack is out there Stat padding grenades. Thought the dude was out injured.”
    A third said: “Hey @TorontoLions @TorontoAVFC now you know how @JackGrealish got his injury.”
    To which a user replied: “Well, one thing we can guarantee is that all he can do right now is play COD haha.”
    Grealish, 25, is currently sidelined with a shin injury and has not played for Villa since the middle of February.
    During his time in the stands, Dean Smith’s men have managed just two wins from nine Premier League games.
