      I’m captain of a Bundesliga team and I was forced to flee a bear after terrifying encounter in the woods

      FOOTBALLER Lukas Hradecky has revealed that he was chased by a bear whilst on a run in 2019. The Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper spoke to German outlet BILD about his terrifying encounter.

      The incident occurred whilst the 33-year-old was going for a jog in the woods in Bratislava.
      Hradecky explained how the scary situation took place whilst he was trying to keep his fitness levels up in the off-season.
      He said: “I saw a movement in the distance. I didn’t stay there to see if it was a bear or a big dog.
      “I wouldn’t try to put you dead when a bear chases you. I trusted my feet and, thank God, came out happy – it was actually a bear.”

      Despite the fear that Hradecky experienced there was one positive of the terror induced dash.
      The Finnish shot-stopper’s sprint was recorded, as Leverkusen were tracking the heart rates of their players over the summer break.
      Hradecky said: “Our physical department can confirm that I had the highest pulse in all runs this summer.”
      Bayer Leverkusen are currently enjoying an impressive campaign as they sit in sixth place in the Bundesliga.

      The clip from the league game between Hammarby and Hacken has gone viral and has footie fans in disbelief.
      Swedish keeper Dovin, who was born in London, received the ball from his defender early in the game under very little pressure.
      But as the goalie collects the ball and dribbles backwards, he passes the penalty spot which is the same white colour as the ball.
      Dovin then incredibly mistakes the penalty spot for the ball as he attempts to pass it away.

      The hapless 20-year-old realised his blunder a second too late.
      By the time he has worked out where the ball actually is, Hacken’s Benie Traore has already nipped in to tap it into the empty net.
      The keeper’s team-mates attempt to console him after the shocking moment.
      Traore would go on to grab a hat-trick in a 3-1 win.

      According to reports, he wants to strengthen the squad’s central midfield and has increased efforts to try and sign Djibril Sow during the summer transfer window.
      It’s thought that this would provide back up to regular starters Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey.
      The Spanish manager signed Jorginho from Chelsea in January and got Mohamed Elneny to sign a new contract in February, but is clearly still hunting for new arrivals to help bolster the squad.
      26-year-old Sow will begin the final year of this contract with German club Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer.

      The player has made it clear to Frankfurt he will not be signing an extension with them this summer, and has already had talks with English, French and Italian clubs.
      However, Arsenal may have an advantage over other clubs as Sow’s international team-mate, Xhaka, is on their side.
      The pair played alongside each other for all four of Switzerland’s games during the 2022 World Cup, and Sow has said before how much he admires the 30-year old midfielder.
      Sow told Sport1 last year: “Above all, Xhaka is a role model as a personality, as a leader.

      The two have both played for Bundesliga team Gladbach, and Sow has previously spoken about his desire to follow Xhaka into the Premier League.
      Frankfurt will be keen to try and cash in this summer whilst Sow still holds some value, and have valued the midfielder at around €15million (£13m).
      The Swiss has seven goals and 13 assists in his 151 appearances for the German team, and helped them win the Europa League last season.

      With eight goals and nine assists to his name, Frimpong has had a stellar season with the German team.
      The 22-year old has become key player in the squad, as he can operate as a right-sided winger as well.
      The defender has a contract with the Bundesliga club until summer 2025, but has apparently become a potential target of the Old Trafford team for the upcoming transfer window.
      According to reports, talks with his manager have been going on for weeks to acquire the players signature.

      However, Leverkusen have named the price United would have to pay in order to sign the player.
      According to SportBILD, the youngster could cost the Red Devils around £44million.
      But, if Frimpong keeps up his good performances until the end of the season, the eye-watering sum may not be a transfer hurdle.
      The former Manchester City and Celtic player scored last weekend during a match that saw Leverkusen beat Schalke 3-0, helping his side climb to seventh in the Bundesliga.

      He was also chosen to be on the Netherlands squad for the 2022 World Cup, but ended up failing to make an appearance under former United boss Louis van Gaal.

      Still, if Man Utd do manage to fork out for him, the 22-year old could prove to be a quality acquisition for Ten Hag’s side.
      However, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have also signalled their interest in the Dutch defender.
      According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barca and Bayern have been in direct communication with Frimpong’s agent, hotting up the race to land the star player.

      Barca are moving to sign a new right-back, but may be hamstrung with cost-cutting after FFP sanctions.
