Barcelona look to raid Bayern Munich in stunning double transfer swoop after German giants’ shock move for Joao Cancelo

BARCELONA are lining up a double transfer raid on Bayern Munich, according to reports. The Spanish giants have identified two major stars as key targets.

However, they will wait until the summer before launching their bids.
According to Fabrizio Romano, there are no talks ongoing between the two European heavyweights on deadline day – six months on from their bitter row regarding Robert Lewandowski’s move.
Instead, Barca plan to try and strike at the end of the season for duo Benjamin Pavard and Joshua Kimmich.
It is reported that French defender Pavard is open to the switch to the Nou Camp.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
Versatile ace Kimmich, meanwhile, has emerged as a top priority for the 2023-24 season.
The former RB Leipzig player has shone throughout this seven-and-a-half years with Bayern, winning the Bundesliga in each season.
Pavard, 26, arrived from Stuttgart in 2019 – a year after winning the World Cup – and the pair combined in the Champions League-winning campaign in 2020.
However, the double deal could be scuppered by Barcelona’s torrid financial situation.

Directo Gol report it would be “economically impossible” to bring Kimmich in.
The Germany star, 27, earns a reported £330,000 per week at the Allianz Stadium and is tied down until 2025.
Pavard, though, will enter the final 12 months of his £84,000-a-week contract this summer and is therefore far more affordable.
And Bayern may be more open to selling him after signing Joao Cancelo from Manchester City, initially on loan with an option to buy.
    BARCA MONEY MESS
Barcelona have already been told they must reduce their annual spending on wages next season by £158million to comply with financial regulations.
The LaLiga leaders sold off various rights and deals last summer – including shares in a TV company and the stadium name – to help operate amid their £1billion debt.
Barcelona signed Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Raphinha, Jules Kounde, Marcos Alonso, Hector Bellerin and Lewandowski last summer.
The £42.5million deal for the Polish striker left the Bundesliga champions fuming – and could scupper Barca’s chances of signing Pavard or Kimmich.
Bayern – who were already angry at Barca regarding the failed European Super League breakaway – could not believe the Spanish side were allowed to seal the transfer.

Boss Julian Nagelsmann raged: “Barcelona, the only club that has no money but then buys every player they want.

But it was Bellingham’s work for the second goal that showed why he is being chased by Europe’s top sides.
With Dortmund 1-0 up thanks to Karim Adeyemi, the 21-year-old won the ball on the left flank before driving inside towards Leverkusen’s box.
As he dragged several opponents towards him, Bellingham then zipped a perfect ball across the field to teammate Marius Wolf on the right flank.
The defender ploughed into Leverkusen’s box before pinging in a cross.

And at the same time, Bellingham sprinted inside to get on the end of the ball.

Bellingham’s sublime piece of play came just days after he blew fans away with a “filthy” bit of skill against Augsburg.
Man City and Real Madrid are sure to be on red alert as they plot summer moves.

But Liverpool are confident they can lure Bellingham to Anfield after a plea from Anfield legend Steven Gerrard.
The ex-Aston Villa boss said: “All he needs to do is send his diary to me when he’s got a free day.
“I’ll fly to Dortmund personally, take him out for a nice dinner, and we’ll talk about it!
“On the back of the World Cup, what he’s doing out in Dortmund. I’m a huge fan of him anyway.
“The way he comes across, the way he speaks about the game. Every time I’ve watched him he impresses me.
“Bellingham ticks all those boxes. He’s the obvious one, but I think it’s important we don’t become obsessed with one midfielder.
“I think it’s important he stays in this country. He’s 19 years of age. They’re talking about Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
“I know he’s doing it in Dortmund now, but those clubs are at a higher level than Dortmund.
“You can get swallowed up, there’s a lot of world stars. You can get swallowed up by making the move too soon.

“It’s not Bayern Munich to go messing around when you have a day off.
“A day off is meant to be for resting yourself so that you can push on in the next game.”
And, while Nagelsmann insisted he did not take Gnabry off against Cologne due to the fashion week controversy, he did confirm the former Arsenal man will NOT start this weekend.
The Bayern head coach said: “[Serge Gnabry] had the chance to show a reaction against Koln.

“Against Koln he was not outstanding so it is clear that this [trip to Paris] is magnified by the media.
“We had a good chat and I explained him my view of things and I told him the substitution against Koln was not because of the Paris trip but performance-related.
“We have a player, [Kingsley Coman], on the bench and he has done really well and he will start tomorrow.”
Gnabry, who left Arsenal for Werder Bremen in 2016 before going on to join Bayern a year later, has scored 10 goals and provided a further 11 assists in 25 games so far this season.
The German champions’ lead at the top of the Bundesliga table has been cut to just three points following their back-to-back draws.
And second place Union Berlin have the chance to move level on points with Bayern if they can beat Hertha Berlin on Saturday afternoon, before Bayern host Frankfurt.
