Tuchel, 49, was named Bayern boss after the Bundesliga giants sacked Julian Nagelsmann on Friday.
He penned a two-and-a-half year deal, which will see him scoop a whopping £10.5million a season, according to Sky Germany, via AS who call the salary “galactic”.
That is significantly more than the reported £6.2m-a-season his predecessor Nagelsmann was earning at the Allianz Arena.
However, it is less than the amount he was paid in severance when sacked by Chelsea last September.

He was one of the Premier League’s top earners on £13m-a-year when he was sent packing by Boehly, according to the Daily Mail.
That means, despite his huge contract at Bayern, Tuchel is picking up around £2.5m-a-year less than he was when boss at Stamford Bridge.
The German gaffer is set for a baptism of fire in his first match as he takes on former club Borussia Dortmund in a crunch top of the table encounter on Saturday.

Plenty of big names have been linked to the job with the latest being Julian Nagelsmann following his sacking by Bayern Munich.
However, according to reports in Germany, Wolfsburg manager Kovac has turned down the chance to take over at the north London outfit.
German publication Waz have reported that the 51-year-old was one of the candidates to replace Conte.
The report states that chairman Daniel Levy had “commissioned his advisors to explore” whether the former Bayern Munich manager would be interested in taking over.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
Levy supposedly didn’t have to wait long for an answer with the report adding that it was made clear negotiations never even started and that Kovac said it was “impossible for him” to take a job at the English club.
According to Waz the reason for this was that Kovac “has principles that he strictly adheres to”, with the biggest one being that he doesn’t break contracts.
It appears that Spurs will have to look elsewhere for their new manager with the Croatian contracted to the Bundesliga outfit until 2025.
The north London side suffered a big blow with the news that Fabio Paratici, the clubs managing director of football had been hit with a worldwide football ban by Fifa.

This ban means the Italian may have to step down from his role with the club.
Conte’s assistant manager Cristian Stellini was named caretaker boss following the Italian’s departure, with former midfielder Ryan Mason set to assist him.
Spurs are next in action on Monday when they travel to Goodison Park to take on Sean Dyche’s Everton. More

Nagelsmann’s girlfriend was a huge reason he ‘lost trust’ at Bayern Munich claims former Premier League star

JULIAN NAGELSMANN’S girlfriend was a major reason behind his Bayern Munich sacking, according to a club legend and ex-Premier League star. The German boss, 35, received his shock marching orders this week.

Bayern wasted no time in appointing Thomas Tuchel as his successor at the Allianz Arena.
However, Nagelsmann reportedly “lost trust” at the Bundesliga champions – despite the club sitting a point behind leaders Borussia Dortmund in the table and facing Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals.
His decision to axe Manuel Neuer’s goalkeeper coach left the injured No1 feeling “like his heart was being ripped out”.
But it was his relationship with Bild reporter Lena Wurzenberger that is said to have caused problems.
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
Nagelsmann separated from his wife Verena of 15 years and the mum of his two kids and started dating Wurzenberger last year.
Wurzenburger was a journalist covering Bayern for Bild but had to be removed from her role due to a conflict of interest.
And ex-Liverpool defender Markus Babbel reckons that was a key factor for Nagelsmann’s dismissal, especially amid fears of leaks.
Babbel told Blick: “I know his relationship with the Bild reporter is a huge topic in the dressing room.

“It didn’t go over well at all that he was with her. His girlfriend was therefore a big problem for Bayern.
“There was a breach of trust because some players just weren’t able to communicate what they were thinking anymore.
“Because they were afraid that everything would end up in the newspaper.”
Nagelsmann and Wurzenburger were regularly spotted together in public including at football matches, Oktoberfest and on holiday.
They were even said to be skiing together this week in Austria when they learned of the sacking.
Unconfirmed reports suggested they broke up in the wake of Nagelsmann’s dismissal.
The former RB Leipzig chief may not be out of work for long, though, with Tottenham considering an approach if they sack Antonio Conte.
Nagelsmann is said to be open to talks with Spurs – especially after once owning a replica kit.
However, it remains unclear whether the manager would want a break from the game following his ruthless sacking in Bavaria.

According to Calciomercato, the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss is already planning ahead for the summer transfer window and wants to start with two of his former Chelsea players.
Mendy has fallen out of favour under the German head coach’s successor Graham Potter, who prefers Kepa Arrizabalaga between the sticks.
The Senegal international has a contract with the West Londoners until 2025 but is among the lowest earners at Stamford Bridge.
SunSport recently revealed that the 31-year-old turned down a six-year deal because he felt the club did not show him enough “respect” over wages.

Kovacic, on the other hand, has a deal that runs out next year and Potter will be looking to make some space on his inflated squad after a busy January market.
The 47-year-old head coach is a big fan of the midfielder but his contract runs out soon and that casts doubt over his future.
Chelsea are also facing the prospect of losing highly-rated assistant coach Anthony Barry.
The new Bayern manager publicly expressed his desire to sign Barry and have him reunite with his other assistants Zsolt Low and Arno Michels.

This is despite the fact that Bayern sit just a point off top spot in the Bundesliga and are into the Champions League quarter-finals where they will play Man City.
But this was not enough to save the coach as he reached the end of his second season in charge.
Sky Sports Germany have reported that club bosses have a number of reasons for pulling the trigger.
They cite a lack of player development and “negative sporting development” as among the main reasons.

The Bayern hierarchy were believed to be taken by “surprise” at Nagelsmann, 35, going off on vacation to Austria during the international break while some of his players remained at the training ground.
The German was on a skiing holiday in Austria when he was reportedly told about the decision to fire him.
Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will replace him with Bayern also confirming that a deal was done.
Tuchel, 49, has been out of a job since being given his marching orders by the new Chelsea owners last September.
The shock managerial turnaround may have come as a surprise to Nagelsmann with Bayern able to regain control of the title race if they beat Dortmund on April 1 when club football returns.
The Bavarian club also dispatched PSG in the last-16 and made an awkward assignment look largely straight-forward over two legs.
Nagelsmann won 60 of his 84 games in charge of Bayern and secured the Bundesliga title last season along with two German Super Cups.
His departure could potentially have a big knock-on effect for one Premier League club.
The Telegraph report that Spurs are set to open talks with Nagelsmann after today’s decision.
They claim the sacked Bayern manager has an “affinity” for Spurs and even used to own one of the club’s replica shirts.

Bayern paid the highest ever compensation fee for a manager to poach Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig in 2021.
He led Bayern to Bundesliga glory last season.
The club are currently second in the table, a point behind Borussia Dortmund, and have a Champions League quarter-final tie with Manchester City next month.
Tuchel meanwhile has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in September.
He guided the Blues to Champions League glory in 2021, and also enjoyed domestic success with Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain.
And Tuchel is set for a baptism of fire as he takes on his old club and current league leaders in his first game in charge of Bayern.
Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said on the decision to axe Nagelsmann: “This has been the most difficult decision in my time as board member for sport at Bayern Munich.
“I have had an open, trusting, friendly relationship with Julian from day one. I regret the parting of the ways with Julian.
“But after a thorough analysis of the sporting development of our team, especially since January and with the experience of the second half of the previous season, we have now decided to release him.
“I am very grateful to Julian for what he has done for FC Bayern and I wish him all the best.”
