Kane eventually made his debut, coming off the bench after 63 minutes.
At that point, Bayern were already 2-0 down as the shell-shocked ex-Tottenham man watched on.

The ex-Chelsea gaffer managed to win the league title last term in a dramatic final-day, but the Bavarian giants’ performances were not convincing.

Dani Olmo’s first half brace gave Leipzig a commanding lead before Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel eventually opted to bring on his new ace in the 64th minute.

But he watched on helplessly as Dani Olmo’s hat-trick stunned the Bundesliga champions in the season’s curtain-raiser.
Olmp scored at the beginning and end of the first half to put the DFB Pokal champions 2-0 up.
Kane did come on just after the hour mark to a rapturous reception from his adoring new fans.
The announcer at Bayern’s Allianz Arena said: “Ladies and gentleman, a magic moment, welcome to Munich, Harry Kane.”

And Kane’s name had been sung by fans as he waiting to make his bow on the bench.
But within a couple of minutes of Kane’s arrival, Olmo wrapped up his hat-trick from the penalty spot.
Kane famously never won a trophy during his time at Spurs – with runner-up medals from the Champions League and two in the League Cup.
He also was on the losing side in the Euro 2020 final when England lost to Italy on penalties.

Olmo gave Leipzig the perfect start at the Allianz Arena.
A wide free-kick was not dealt with by the Bayern defence who failed to clear their lines.
The loose ball fell to Olmo and he slotted home through a crowd of bodies in the area with just three minutes on the clock.
And he doubled Leipzig’s lead on the brink of the break.
The Spanish forward produced a scintillating spin and raced on to the ball before it got away from him to poke through Sven Ulreich.
Kane could barely believe what he was watching – after all, his move to Germany was supposed to guarantee trophies from literally day one.
The Champions League is the ultimate prize in Kane’s sights with the domestic trophies so often seen as mere formalities for the Bundesliga holders.
As Bayern fans impatiently saw chance after chance go begging, they shouted for their new hero.
And Thomas Tuchel granted them their wishes by calling Kane back, giving him a quick pep talk and sending him on in place of Mathys Tel who was one of those to squander a guilt-edged chance.
No doubt Kane had dreams of spearheading a superb comeback.
But the reality was very different as he hardly managed a meaningful touch.
Instead, he watched on helplessly when the referee pointed to the spot, penalising Noussair Mazraoui for a point-blank handball.
And Olmo made no mistake, confidently slotting into the bottom corner to leave Kane to collect another silver medal.
Tuchel even apologised to Kane for Bayern’s lacklustre performance.
The former Chelsea boss said: “I’m just sorry for Harry Kane, he probably thinks we haven’t trained for four weeks”.
“Our performance today had nothing to do with what we set out to do. It’s a very bitter evening, I’m sorry”.

Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig LIVE RESULT: Harry Kane comes on but Dani Olmo bags stunning hat-trick in German Super Cup

HARRY KANE came off the bench to make his Bayern Munich debut, but could not stop the rot as RB Leipzig won the DFB Super Cup 3-0.Dani Olmo has scored a hat-trick for Leipzig in an amazing performance as Bayern looked embarrassingly off the pace.

Charlie Wyett’s match report from Munich
Harry Kane must have thought he was certain to finally get his hands on a trophy for the first time.
Hilariously, it would have come just over 12 hours after his departure from Spurs.
Yet on the night when he made his debut for Bayern Munich as a 64th-minute substitute, the Bundesliga champions were on the wrong end of a 3-0 thumping by Leipzig in the German-DFL Supercup.
With tongue firmly in cheek, maybe it was fitting that for his fourth loss in a final, Kane was wearing Bayern’s third strip which for this season is white, a colour he knows well.
But seriously, we should remember that the Germans take their Super Cup as seriously as we do with the Community Shield.
So this loss against the German Cup champion will not worry the £104million signing as he looks to help Bayern win a 12 successive Bundesliga title and a seventh Champions League.
Although looking at this current Bayern team, even plenty of goals from Kane may not be enough to help them cause major damage in Europe this season.
Nevertheless, to get a decent run-out at a packed Allianz Arena, was still the end of head-spinning 36 hours the England captain will never forget.
    That’s all from Munich
Harry Kane’s trophyless streak has been extended on his Bayern Munich debut.
Kane came on as a second-half substitute in the German Super Cup against RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena.
The star striker made his Bayern bow just a few hours after signing his contract.
However, Leipzig picked up a comfortable 3-0 win thanks to a hat-trick by Dani Olmo.

Full-time: Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
What a horror show for Bayern.
Toothless from the start, this was far from the start of the season the Bavarians wanted.
Dani Olmo set the game ablaze with his early strike, before doubling the lead just before half-time.
He then rounded out the scoring with a well taken second half penalty.
Kane came on with 30minutes to go but failed to get into the game, having just three touches of the ball.
His trophyless career continues but their is a long season ahead.
    Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
    89mins. Leipzig fire wide again.
This time its a volley from the edge of the area.
It was always going to be difficult for Sesko to hit the target from there.
    Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
    88mins. Leipzig go close now.
The outstretched arm of Ulreich is enough to send a close range effort spinning wide of the goal as he rushes out to try and smother the angle.
A real let off for Bayern.
    Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
85mins. Five minutes of regulation time to go, and it can’t end soon enough for Bayern.
It’s been a horrid display from Tuchel’s side.
Profligate in front of goal, bereft of ideas and defensively frail.
Not an ideal start to the season.
    Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
    82mins. Close again from Bayern.
Gnabry’s free-kick is swung to the back post and finds Mazraoui open.
He makes contact, but his header squirms wide of the post.
    Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
81mins. Bayern win a foul on the left of the penalty area.
    Gnabry is standing over it.
    Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
78mins. Goretzka is on for Kimmich, while Olmo and Simons have made way for Carvalho and Forsberg.
    Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
77mins. Kane has been briefly involved since coming on.
He hasn’t found the deep positions he is used to and is instead staying further forward.
Bayern and Leipzig are both making changes in the meantime.
    Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
    74mins. Big chance for Coman.
The scorer of the winner in the Bayern’s last Champions League triumph almost came up with the goods there following a jinking dribble from the right flank.
However, his shot is straight at Blaswich, who saves once again.
    Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
70mins. Huge block from Kim to keep the score down.
Leipzig go through again and go round the goalkeeper.
But Kim manages to a get a vital block in to prevent a fourth.

It’s a horror introduction to German football for Kane, who sees his side concede a third before even touching the ball.
    Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
    Bayern Munich 0-2 RB Leipzig
    67mins. PENALTY to Leipzig.
Mazraoui appears to handle the ball after a close range header.
The DFL-Supercup may be out of reach if Leipzig score here.
    Olmo to take…
    Bayern Munich 0-2 RB Leipzig
64mins. There is a huge roar from the crowd as Kane enters the field of play.
The England captain replaces Tel up front for his debut.
Can he cause a “hurrikane” in Germany?
    Bayern Munich 0-2 RB Leipzig
    60mins. Close AGAIN.
Leipzig are up against it at the minute.
A low shot from the left wing sees Blaswich save with his feet, before the rebound is met by Musiala.
But he pokes the ball just wide and is clattered in the process.

    Bayern Munich 0-2 RB Leipzig
57mins. Musiala is the latest player to squander a chance.
Yet again Bayern find space on the wing and find a player in the area.
However, the youngster can’t sort out his feet as he attempts a first time finish.
    Bayern Munich 0-2 RB Leipzig
53mins. Superb play from Mazraoui to thrust Bayern forward.
He beats three players before popping the ball to Sane, who plays it back immediately.
Mazraoui then beats another defender before laying back to Sane who crosses to the far post.
The ball is squared back into the centre but doesn’t find anyone.

Harry Kane ‘increasingly likely’ to stay at Spurs despite being given go-ahead for £104m move to Bayern Munich

ENGLAND captain Harry Kane was yesterday given the go-ahead for a mega-money move from Spurs to German big-shots Bayern Munich. The Premier League side finally accepted an offer of £104million after rejecting three bids.

Last night Harry, 30, was still yet to sign — despite vowing his future must be decided before Spurs start the new season on Sunday.
But amid reports that he was having second thoughts and would stay, Bayern sources said the club were confident of landing Harry.
The England striker has the choice between playing Champions League football and finally winning silverware or remaining in London and trying to break the Premier League goal record.
Kane is understood to have settled personal terms which would see his wages double, and has taken his family to scout for a new home.
    Read More on Harry Kane
But there is speculation that he has become worried about uprooting pregnant wife Katie, 29, and children Ivy, four, Vivienne Jane, two, and Louis, six months.
Bayern, who have been European champions six times and won the German title 33 times, were sure they had their man.
They have agreed a deal with Tottenham worth up to £104million after long weeks of negotiations.
Spurs — who last won a major trophy when they lifted the League Cup in 2008 — had previously turned down three offers.
    Most read in Football
Kane then set a deadline to bring the will-he-won’t-he saga to a head.
He insisted it had to be sorted before new boss Ange Postecoglou’s men kick off the new campaign at Brentford on Sunday.
Harry’s delay in signing the deal yesterday led to fears among some that he was turning his back on a £22million-a-year payday.
Amid all the confusion late last night, it was reported that Kane has agreed to join Bayern on a proposed four-year contract.
He was leaning towards staying at his boyhood club but opted to leave at the last minute, according to sports website The Athletic.
He has been given permission by Spurs to travel for medical tests that will finalise the deal, it was said.
But other sources said the complexity of the deal honed by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy meant it “might not be concluded quickly”.
A breakthrough would end a stellar Spurs career spanning 20 years at the North London club.
Kane netted 30 times last season despite playing in a lacklustre Spurs side which finished ia disappointing eighth.
That left the North London club without European football.
He was said to have been impressed by the siren call of Bayern’s former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel and the hope of Champions League glory with the current Bundesliga champs.
And though he might not be a drinker, his mates could have been looking forward to him living near the world-famous Oktoberfest and its beer halls.
The average German spends about £3.50 for a pint — about 36 per cent less for a typical beer than in London.
Even if he did not fancy a stein or two, he could chill out in the Bavarian city’s impressive main park.
Called the Englischer Garten — English Garden — it is the size of 690 football pitches.
Yet Kane — Tottenham’s all-time top goalscorer and winner of the 2018 World Cup golden boot for the Three Lions — is known to have been eyeing up Newcastle legend Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 260 goals.
He is currently 47 behind Shearer, but has already broken Wayne Rooney’s all-time England scoring record — getting his 56th goal in June.
He has been Spurs’ undoubted star every year since 2014, but has just two League Cup runners-up medals to his name.
He played a four-goal starring role in Sunday’s 5-1 friendly win over Shakhtar Donetsk which could be his last game for Spurs.
The club valued him at £200million at one point and there were claims Levy would have accepted £150million in talks with Manchester City in 2021.
But the continuing wrangle over his future is piling more pressure on the Spurs hierarchy — as they will not make a penny if he leaves on a free transfer after his contract expires next year.
Bayern boss Tuchel has been confident of getting his man, and fans hoped their city would provide a further lure.
It is also home to the spectacular Olympic Park. Built for the 1972 Olympics, it hosts a variety of major concerts.
Kane could also find inspiration for expanding his luxury car collection by visiting the BMW museum.
The city has plenty for his family too — including Hellabrunn Zoo, ranked among the best safari parks in Europe.
    Spurred to train
ANY uncertainty in Harry Kane’s mind over where he will be playing this season didn’t show in his training session with Spurs on Wednesday.
