Palhinha, 28, was at Bayern and was even believed to have posed with a club shirt.
Fulham were unable to sign a replacement, with Manchester United’s Scott McTominay reportedly the favourite to arrive at Craven Cottage.
This meant that the club pulled the plug on Palhinha’s move to Bayern.
The midfielder has since signed a new deal with the Cottagers.

Fabrizio Romano, however, has claimed that Bayern still want to sign Palhinha and will move for him in January.
The transfer guru has also suggested that the midfielder’s new contract was “key” after the drama on deadline day.
He continues to suggest that Fulham are still planning on selling Palhinha for a “huge fee” next summer.
Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel believes that his squad is still “thin” despite the arrivals of high-profile stars such as Harry Kane, Kim Min-jae and Konrad Laimer.

Palhinha has been backed to still make the move to Bayern, with his agent brother Goncalo suggesting that the transfer has merely been  “postponed”.
He said: “They didn’t kill the dream, they just postponed it.
“Very proud of my brother and the player I represent.”
Tuchel has also been asked whether his side could return for Palhinha in the future.
He said: “I have no opinion on that. There’s no point in thinking about it now. He plays at Fulham and we play here without him.
“In winter we have to see. Things change sometimes, you can’t predict that.”
After signing his new contract, Palhinha said: “I feel happy. A lot of history happened these few weeks for me, you heard a lot of things about my future, but I’m just focused on my work at Fulham.
“I always have 100 per cent commitment with this club, I have all the respect for the club, for the fans. Since the first day, they supported me a lot, and me and my family felt this since the first moment that I arrived here.
“I have a lot of respect for everyone here in Fulham and I am ready to start again, to give all my best, and I want to achieve good things.” More

Bayern Munich told they should have signed in-form rival instead of Harry Kane as Tuchel aims sly transfer dig

THOMAS TUCHEL has scoffed at a rival manager for suggesting Bayerm Munich should have signed Victor Boniface instead of Harry Kane.Tuchel paid £104million for England skipper Kane, while new £18m Bayer Leverkusen frontman Boniface has been compared to Erling Haaland.

Cologne coach Steffen Baumgart claimed if he was Bayern boss he would have targeted the Nigerian 22-year-old over Tottenham legend Kane, 30.
But Tuchel believes the comparison is ridiculous.
He described Boniface as “a totally different type of player” – then teased Baumgart.
Ex-Chelsea manager Tuchel said: “It’s good that Cologne’s coach is concerned about our market.

“If we had known earlier, we would have expanded our transfer committee to nine people.”
Nonetheless, pound for pound, and in plain stats, Baumgart has a strong case for backing Boniface as the dream strike recruit for Bundesliga clubs.
Younger than Kane by eight years, he has helped blitz Leverkusen to the top of the table with four goals from their three wins in three games.

Three Lions’ record scorer Kane has notched three goals in his four appearances since arriving at Munich last month.
Tuchel said on Thursday the Londoner was already showing he’ll become an “absolute success” for Bayern.
And German outlet BILD claim Kane has quickly established himself within the dressing room as one of Bayern’s three most senior figures.
Thomas Muller and Joshua Kimmich share that status – with club captain and fellow Germany star Manuel Neuer slipping down the list.
Meanwhile, Boniface has continued his astonishing rise of the past four years.
He totalled 23 goals and eight assists from 66 matches as he twice won the Norwegian top-tier title with Bodo/Glimt.
Then 17 goals and 12 assists in 51 games last term for Belgium’s Union Saint-Gilloise persuaded Leverkusen to splash out for him.

And according to German outlet BILD, he has already emerged as a key member of the squad.

Neuer missed the second half of the 2022-23 campaign with a broken leg following a skiing accident.
The goalkeeper now finds himself in the second bracket of influence, with Kingsley Coman, Leon Goretzka and summer signing Kim Min-jae in the third.
Kane lauded Bayern Munich’s “top” mentality while on international duty last week, claiming they “have to win” every game.
He said: “We wanted to win at Spurs, but if you went a couple of games without winning it wasn’t a disaster. At Bayern you have to win every game.

Bayern Munich RELEASE Julian Nagelsmann months after sacking him as he’s set for Germany job on two conditions

Despite being axed, Nagelsmann is technically still contracted to Bayern until the summer of 2026.
Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain have both been linked with the 36-year-old since his Bayern sacking.
But the German giants would have demanded significant compensation from either club.
Germany national team director Rudi Voller is reportedly keen to replace axed boss Hansi Flick with Nagelsmann.

The former RB Leipzig boss is claimed to be Voller’s “dream solution”.
According to Bild, Bayern recognise the importance of leading Germany into next summer’s home European Championships.
For this reason they are claimed to not be demanding a fee from the German FA in order to release Nagelsmann.
But they do have two conditions.

The first is that should they release him from his contract, he will only take the German national team job, and not move to another club.
And the second is that Germany will cover his salary in full, and that Bayern will no longer be liable for any of it.
Nagelsmann is still thought to be earning around £115,000 a week from Bayern.
The German side are believed to owe him another £17m for the duration of his contract, unless another arrangement is found.
Bayern executive Uli Hoeness has vowed not to block Nagelsmann from getting the Germany job.
He told reporter Manuel Bonke: “(The) Deal would certainly not fall through because of FC Bayern.”
Once approval is gained from Bayern, German chiefs will have permission to sound out whether Nagelsmann would accept the job.
Flick was sacked after Saturday’s 4-1 thumping at home to Japan.

Former Premier League manager who ‘tried to cure players by rubbing cheese on them’ throws ring in hat for Germany job

EX-PREMIER LEAGUE manager Felix Magath has thrown his hat in the ring for the Germany job.The Germany position is vacant after the DFB sacked former Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick following a dismal run of results, making him the first-ever manager to be sacked in the history of the position.

Now, Magath – manager of Fulham for just over seven months in 2014 – has declared he is the man to lead the Germans to glory when they host Euro 2024.
After Flick’s sacking he said: “I don’t know what requirements profile the DFB has created for this position.
“But in my opinion, it is very clear that we in football now urgently need someone who can put this completely insecure team back together, which is no longer able to match its performance.”
The 70-year-old is well respected in Germany, having won the Bundesliga on three occasions – twice with Bayern Munich and once with Wolfsburg.

However, in England, Magath’s ill-fated spell at Craven Cottage is best remembered for him attempting to heal injuries with cheese.
Former Fulham defender Brede Hangeland claimed Magath had told him to put a lump of cheese which had been soaked in alcohol on the problem area of a minor injury he had.
Then team-mate and now pundit Danny Murphy went into more detail on the theory, commenting: “He got a lump of cheese, soaked in alcohol, and told him to leave it on overnight.
“This is from the horse’s mouth. I know the club doctor well.

“It was one of many ridiculous, sad stories that we have heard about Felix that has ultimately cost him his job.”
Magath did not deny he had sensationally suggested using cheese when asked about it, but insisted it had been blown out of proportion.
He said: “I merely suggested it could be worth trying the old wives’ tale of applying quark cheese to the injured area.
“These false stories from the player Hangeland are rubbish. I would never tell a doctor what to do. But sadly this story has now been taken on and distorted by the media.”
After leaving Fulham, Magath headed to China to take charge of Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng.
Magath remained in the post for 18 months before he was sacked.
He returned to Europe in global sports director roles at Austrian second tier side Admira Wacker and Würzburger Kickers in Germany’s fourth tier.
He made a brief return to management in 2022, managing nine games for Hertha Berlin.
Julian Nagelsmann, Ralph Hasenhuttl and Zinedine Zidane are among the names linked with the job.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted taking the role “would be a great honour” in the summer.

However, he reaffirmed his commitment to Liverpool by saying: “I can’t just leave Liverpool now and say I’ll take over Germany for a short time.
“That doesn’t work and the request isn’t even there. If I’m supposed to do that at some point, then I have to be available and I’m not currently. I have a responsibility towards the club.” More

The 22-year-old has become one of the best young left-backs in football.
Davies burst onto the scene in the MLS with Vancouver Whitecaps before his record-breaking transfer to Bayern Munich in 2018.
Within a year the Candian had established himself as a first-team regular and has progressed to be among the world’s top left-backs – known for his blistering pace, dribbling and crossing ability.
He has had a remarkable start for the Bundesliga side scoring eight goals in 156 appearances.

Davies has also picked up some silverware along the way winning five Bundesliga titles and the Champions League in 2020.
He scored Canada’s first World Cup goal ever at Qatar 2022, putting his penalty miss disappointment behind him from the first match to head in against Croatia.
The left-back’s success has led to transfer attention and Spanish outlet Marca claim Davies has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Ancelotti is on the hunt to bolster his defence as Ferland Mendy’s calf injury means his future at the club is uncertain, the report claims.

However, it is believed Real Madrid will wait until summer 2024 to try and sign the full-back.
Davies previously revealed he struggles with loneliness in Germany meaning a move to the Spanish capital could be something that appeals to the star.
Davies’s contract with the Bavarian side does not come to an end until June 2025.
Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel may be reluctant to let his star player go.
But if Davies does depart next summer he would join new Real Madrid youngsters Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Jude Bellingham. More
