Mario Gotze’s wife Ann-Kathrin knows his next club after leaving Dortmund and teases fans about transfer

GERMANY World Cup hero Mario Gotze is set to sign for a new club imminently after a tease from his wife, Ann-Kathrin.
Borussia Dortmund released the attacking midfielder at the end of last season and several potential destinations have been touted.

And fans can expect an announcement soon after mode Ann-Kathrin, 30, suggested a decision had been made.
During an Instagram Q&A while cuddling newborn son Rome, she told one fan asking about Gotze’s future: “Can’t tell you yet.”
Bild report that Gotze, 28, has hired Emre Can’s agent Reza Fazeli to seal his move away from Dortmund.
A move away from Europe is not on the cards despite interest from MLS and Inter Miami.

Instead, Monaco and Roma are thought to be leading the running.
Former Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac, now at Monaco, wants to make Gotze a key leader in the Ligue 1 side’s dressing room, according to French media reports.

Earlier in the year, Premier League duo West Ham and Everton were said to be interested.
Gotze was often reduced to the bench last season and only started five Bundesliga games for Dortmund.

It is a far cry from the player who became the most expensive German of all-time when moving to Bayern Munich in 2013, a year before he scored the winning goal in a World Cup final.
He soon returned to Borussia, admitting to regretting his decision to leave for Bavaria, but struggled to re-find his best form back at the club he first joined at the age of eight.

Man Utd trolled by RB Leipzig over Upamecano transfer as Germans say he is NOT for sale after signing new deal

MANCHESTER UNITED were trolled on social media by RB Leipzig as the Germans reiterated Dayot Upamecano is not for sale.
The Red Devils have been linked with the 21-year-old defender, with their interest ramping up in recent days.

But the Bundesliga side took to Twitter to emphasise their man will not be leaving this summer – just weeks after Borussia Dortmund refused to sell Jadon Sancho.
Exactly a month since he penned a new three-year deal with the club, RB Leipzig retweeted the tweet confirming the extension and added: “ICYMI” – meaning “in case you missed it”.
The message riled plenty of United supporters who are desperate to see their team sign a new centre-back this season.
But RB Leipzig and other fans were loving the Champions League semi-finalists’ hard-ball approach.

Upamecano has no shortage of suitors with the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid also interested in the French youth international.
The defender’s new deal with the Germans has a £40million release clause that can be activated next summer.
Leipzig are unwilling to part ways with the ex-Red Bull Salzburg man but despite this, United are said to be hopeful that a deal can be struck.

And with the likes of Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling to potentially leave, Solskjaer has highlighted a central defender as a top priority.

United are looking to switch their attention to Upamecano once they complete the signing of Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
The Red Devils have agreed a £40m deal with the Dutch outfit, with the 23-year-old to pen a five-year contract at the Theatre of Dreams.

Man Utd to go all out for Dayot Upamecano after landing Donny van de Beek in £40m transfer from Ajax

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly ready to bring Dayot Upamecano to Old Trafford once they wrap up the signing of Donny van de Beek.
The Red Devils are known to be admirers of the RB Leipzig centre-back, with the club understood to be scouting the 21-year-old.

Upamecano has no shortage of suitors with the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid also interested in the French youth international.
The defender signed a new deal with the Bundesliga outfit last month, with it claimed that he has a £40million release clause that can be activated next summer.
But according to ESPN, United are keen to secure his services ahead of the new Premier League season.
They state that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to bolster his backline, and has identified Upamecano as the perfect partner for Harry Maguire.

Even though Leipzig are unwilling to part ways with the ex-Red Bull Salzburg man, United are said to be hopeful that a deal can be struck.
And with the likes of Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling to potentially leave, Solskjaer has highlighted a centre-back as a top priority.
United are looking to press ahead with a move for Upamecano once they complete the signing of Van de Beek from Ajax.

The Red Devils have agreed a £40m deal with the Dutch outfit, with the 23-year-old to pen a five-year contract at the Theatre of Dreams.

Van de Beek is expected to undergo a medical this week as United near their first major signing this summer.
United are still desperate to land Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, with the English international the club’s No1 target.

Liverpool have one week to complete Thiago transfer from Bayern Munich with two clubs £7m apart in valuation

LIVERPOOL are to try and seal a deal for Thiago Alcantara in the coming week after talks with Bayern Munich.
Reports suggest the Premier League champions are around £7million apart from Bayern in their valuations of the midfielder.

Personal terms are said to have already been agreed after discussions opened following the Champions League final.
According to Argentinian outlet Varsky Sports, Liverpool will allow themselves another week to find a solution with Munich.
The Reds’ favoured route to completing the deal is reported using additional bonuses and clauses to bump up the money.

Thiago, 29, said goodbye to his teammates earlier this month with the transfer set to cost in the region of £27m.

Having previously recommended a move to England for the Spaniard, Bayern coach Hansi Flick stated that Thiago’s next destination remains up in the air.
The German said: “I just thanked him for our time together, just like I did every other player.
“I don’t know and he doesn’t know yet either.
“Because we all focused on this Champions League final. I think we will have to wait for what the following days will bring.”

Liverpool’s title defence begins next month with a game against Leeds at Anfield.
And worries that Manchester City will be too hot to handle if Lionel Messi arrives are not universal, with Wayne Rooney suggesting Thiago would be a better addition than the Barcelona ace.
He told talkSPORT: “I think it is City or Liverpool [for the title].

“Manchester United have a lot of potential in the players they have got but I still think they are a year away. Chelsea with the new signings will possibly need a year to get everyone on the same song sheet.
“So I do think it is between City and Liverpool. And if Liverpool get Thiago from Bayern Munich, I think it is done.
“That is a better signing than Messi going to Man City.”

Wilfried Zaha ‘determined’ to leave Crystal Palace this window with PSG, Dortmund and Monaco interested in transfer

WILFRIED ZAHA is reportedly determined to find a move out of Crystal Palace this autumn.
With the transfer window open until October 12, the winger is said to be happy to wait to find his next move.

Having failed to seal a move to Everton or Arsenal last summer, Zaha spent the season with the Eagles but failed to produce his best form.
This time around, initial reports centred on Palace’s demand for a £70million fee for their academy product.
According to The Guardian, the forward is still keen to leave and will remain patient during the long, coronavirus-affected market.

Interest from these shores appears to have dried up, however.

With ambitions of playing in the Champions League, the Ivory Coast international could head abroad with clubs in France and Germany said to be interested.
Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco were named in a Sky Sports report about the star’s future earlier this month.
Roy Hodgson admitted that Zaha wants a move after Palace’s slow end to the campaign saw them finish 14th.
Hodgson said in July: “It’s a dilemma for the club and a dilemma for him if he is so set on leaving.

Glenn Murray says now is the time for Wilfried Zaha to leave Crystal Palace
“If he feels he just does not want to be with us any more, that would be sad.
“We still like him very much; we can’t make him like us. This is a situation that only he and the club can sort out. I don’t have an answer.”
Ismaila Sarr of Watford is one option for Palace should Zaha vacate his spot on the left wing.
Already this summer, the Premier League side have secured West Brom youngster Nathan Ferguson and are closing in on a £15m switch for QPR’s Eberechi Eze. More

Leeds ‘very serious’ about Nicolas Gonzalez transfer, confirm Stuttgart as Bielsa eyes new striker for Prem season

LEEDS were “very serious” about signing Stuttgart winger Nicolas Gonzalez.
But the Whites look set to miss out on the Argentine after comments from Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat.

    1

Leeds were ‘very serious’ about signing Stuttgart winger Nicolas Gonzalez
Premier League new boys Leeds were recently in talks with Marcelo Bielsa’s 22-year-old compatriot.
But the German side were never interested in selling, according to Arsenal’s former head of recruitment Mislintat.
He said: “I don’t see [a departure] coming for now.

“We had a lot of rumours in the beginning.

“It was very serious with Leeds. But at no point it was really convincing for him or for us.”
Gonzalez has three years left on his contract with the Bundesliga side.
Stuttgart signed him from Argentinos Juniors for £7.65million in 2018.
And the German side would want at least double that to prise him away.

Gonzalez came off the bench during Stuttgart’s 3-0 pre-season friendly defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.
And it looks like he will be staying put in Germany until at least January.

In other transfers, Leeds are reportedly leading the race for £3m-rated Arsenal youngster Sam Greenwood.
A Whites director is also said to be in Spain at the moment to seal a £36m move for Valencia forward Rodrigo Moreno.
And Arsenal centre-back Rob Holding is also “free to complete a move” to Elland Road.

Bayern’s Treble-winning manager Flick earns less than £7.5m-a-year Man Utd boss Solskjaer and not even half Jose’s pay

LESS than a year ago, Hansi Flick had never managed Bayern Munich – but he now stands over a stunning treble with a £7.2million pay packet.
The German’s remarkable rise from unemployed ex-Hoffenheim boss to one of the world’s top coaches has taken place over the course of a single season.

Niko Kovac brought in ex-midfielder Flick in July 2019 to help push Bayern on after the Croat’s stuttering but ultimately successful first year in charge.
With eight years as Joachim Low’s assistant under his belt before becoming German FA sporting director, his reputation was already considerable.
But, when Kovac was dismissed in November and his right-hand man lost two of his first four games as caretaker, few predicted what was about to unfold.
Munich were already impressed enough to award Flick a three-year deal in April, worth £7.2m according to Bild, amid speculation Mauricio Pochettino could take over long-term.

Flick hasn’t tasted defeat since a December 7 loss to Borussia Monchengladbach and swept his side to the Bundesliga crown via 13-straight wins.
The second part of the treble was bagged with a comprehensive victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB-Pokal final.

And the Champions League title rounded off a stunning season, dispatching Barcelona 8-2 alongside comfortable wins over Chelsea and Lyon. A Kingsley Coman header then secured victory in the final.
Flick’s wage is far from inconsiderable but is miles behind one of his Bayern predecessors, Pep Guardiola.

The Manchester City coach has been unable to deliver the European crown to Eastlands having failed to do so in Bavaria, yet earns £20m-a-year.
Champions Liverpool pay £15m for coach Jurgen Klopp, the same as Tottenham’s Jose Mourinho.

In fact, Flick is behind big spenders Everton and Leicester, where Carlo Ancelotti bags £11.5m-a-year and Brendan Rodgers is on £10m.
Even newly-promoted Leeds pay more for their coach than the treble winners, with Marcelo Bielsa set to be on £8m per season having ended their top-flight exile.
Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s similar status as a relatively untested coach at a big club puts him on a similar pay bracket as Flick, on £7.5m-a-year.

Inside Bayern Munich’s Champions League celebrations as Davies shows off dodgy dance moves and Wags party the night away

BAYERN MUNICH stars and their Wags went wild after their Champions League triumph over Paris Saint-Germain.

Bayern ground out a 1-0 win in Lisbon thanks to Kingsley Coman’s second-half header.
The German giants had Kylian Mbappe’s sloppy finishing and some great saves from Manuel Neuer to thank for surviving with a clean sheet.
And they deservedly let their hair down after claiming the club’s sixth European Cup.

In footage posted on Thiago Alcantara’s Instagram, Canadian Davies is seen draped in his national flag on a dance floor doing a solo jig.

The outstanding 19-year-old was also seen apparently napping with the trophy after it all caught up with him.
Before that he had uploaded a video to his own Instagram story, celebrating the fact that global music superstar Drake has started following him.
In other footage posted on Bayern’s official Twitter account, the entire squad were up on stage belting out a peculiar song together.
The lyrics “FC Bayern, forever number one” were blasted out by the victorious players as they swayed from side to side with their arms around each other.

Matchwinning goalkeeper Neuer uploaded a shot of the trophy sitting in the middle of the dancefloor.
And later Polish striker Robert Lewandowski posted a hilarious shot of him with the trophy next to him in bed.
He captioned it: “Woke up like this.”
Elsewhere, Thiago Alcantara’s wife Julia Vigas posted photos from the night out with Philippe Coutinho’s partner Aine.
And Thomas Muller’s wife Lisa also shared a cute picture of the couple in bed later in the evening.

Bayern’s ecstatic celebrations were in stark contrast to PSG’s post-match reactions.
Former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera said it was “s***” in his x-rated post-match rant.
And Brazilian forward Neymar was pictured in floods of tears after the final whistle.
