Mario Gotze could join Bayern Munich from Dortmund for second time in career in shock transfer after talks with Flick

BAYERN MUNICH are reportedly in talks over a sensational move for Mario Gotze.
The German midfielder was recently released by Borussia Dortmund after a disappointing return to Signal Iduna Park.

But he could get another reprieve with a move back to Munich, where he played between 2013 and 2016.
According to Bild, the 28-year-old has already held talks with Bayern boss Hansi Flick over a free transfer.
The Champions League winners could be forgiven for completely avoiding the transfer market after getting their season underway with an 8-0 thrashing of Schalke on Friday.

But Flick is seeking reinforcements after several players left the club in the off-season, the 55-year-old admitting he regrets the loss of stars with “tremendous quality”.
Thiago Alcantara signed for Liverpool, Javi Martinez is expected to leave for Athletic Club, and the loans of Alvaro Odriozola, Ivan Perisic and Philippe Coutinho ended.
That could mean a shock return for Gotze, who reportedly left Borussia bosses upset with his social media antics alongside wife Ann-Kathrin.
Although, it is said that Bayern chiefs Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Hasan Salihamidzic are not keen on the idea of signing the attacking midfielder.

Gotze has claimed that he still wants to win the Champions League despite his poor form in recent years.

I absolutely want to win the Champions League. I don’t want to end my career without winning that title at least once.
    Mario Gotze

He told Kicker: “In the past, even before the coronavirus outbreak, it was often portrayed as if my central concern was money.
“That was not and is not the case. The financial aspect plays an ancillary role for me.
“The truly important factors for me are the athletic ones.
“I absolutely want to win the Champions League. That drives me every day. I don’t want to end my career without having won that title at least once.”
Inter Miami, Roma, Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen have all been linked to the player, with the Bundesliga side and former Borussia coach Peter Bosz an appealing option.
Gotze told Bild last week: “I had a very good phase under Peter Bosz, and his philosophy suits me perfectly.”

Bayer’s Bosz replied to the rumours, saying: “Yes, I can imagine working with him again, because I really enjoy working with good players – and Mario is absolutely a good player.
“Maybe it will happen in the future.
But he added: “It doesn’t make sense to speculate about it, because we’re currently looking for other positions.”

Man Utd transfer move for Alexander Sorloth comes to nothing as Crystal Palace star joins RB Leipzig on permanent deal

MANCHESTER UNITED’S shock move for Crystal Palace flop Alexander Sorloth came to nothing as the striker signed for RB Leipzig.
The Norwegian struggled in a disastrous 12-month spell at Selhurst Park, failing to net a league goal in 16 appearances, before being sent out on loan.

He has performed well elsewhere, freely scoring for Danish side Midtjylland before his move to Palace as well as Trabzonspor.
His loan spell in Turkey last season, which came after a season-long loan in Belgium with Gent, earned Sorloth, 24, rave reviews.
An impressive 33 goals in 49 outings helped Trabzon to second in the Super Lig table and a big move has been predicted for the forward.
According to Turkish outlet Asist Analiz, United and Tottenham were hoping to fight over his services.

Trabzonspor manager Eddie Newton told SunSport in August: “If someone wants to purchase him at an agreed price then I think it would be foolhardy for the club to turn it down.”
However, Sorloth has put pen to paper on a deal at RB Leipzig – despite fears his cancelled medical would scupper the move.
Palace said: “Everyone at Crystal Palace FC wishes Alexander the very best for his career.”

Leipzig were reportedly ready to pay more than £21million to sign the player, who was only halfway through his Trabzonspor loan deal.

Spurs fans in particular have been desperate for the club to sign some back-up for Harry Kane.
Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen both struggled to score goals while waiting in reserve for the England forward, leaving Irish teenager Troy Parrott as Jose Mourinho’s only natural striker aside from Kane.

Whether the Tottenham boss utilises new loan signing Gareth Bale on the wings or through the middle remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have Odion Ighalo as an alternative to Anthony Martial up top.
Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood are both capable of moving centrally but the Red Devils may prefer a new addition given their struggles in signing Jadon Sancho.

Barcelona aim to hijack Bayern Munich’s transfer for Sergino Dest, 19, after Bundesliga giants ‘had agreed a deal’

BARCELONA are out to hijack Bayern Munich’s move for Sergino Dest after failing with two bids for Max Aarons.
A new right-back is on the Blaugrana agenda as Ronald Koeman looks to revamp his aging squad.

    1

United States international Dest was born in the Netherlands and raised through Ajax’s academy, playing 36 times for the club.

And his performances have caught the eye of Europe’s biggest teams, including Bayern and Barcelona.
According to Bild, the Bundesliga champions have agreed personal terms with Dest but are yet to persuade Ajax to sell up.

That leaves room for Barcelona to make a bid, which Mundo Deportivo believe will focus on a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
On Saturday, SunSport revealed the Catalans’ desire to sign Dest having failed with two bids for Aarons.
Norwich rebuffed an offer topping £20million for the 20-year-old despite suffering relegation from the Premier League.
Reportedly set to leave Barcelona is Nelson Semedo with an unnamed club said to have bid around £40m for the Portuguese defender.

Replacing Semedo with Dest, 19, would leave the struggling LaLiga giants with a healthy profit with Ajax wanting around £15m for Dest.

Barcelona are attempting to push down their mega wage bill

Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag has insisted he would like Dest to remain in Amsterdam, telling reporters on Friday: “He is an Ajax player, he has trained and we are going to prepare for RKC.
“I can’t say anything about it, there is a lot of interest in all of our players. Dest has developed well so it’s not surprising there is interest.”
He added: “Bayern Munich is a very nice club in Europe. I focus on Ajax and the development of Ajax.
“I want [Dest] to stay. If there is a different outcome, we’ll have to change things around.”

Watch Leroy Sane net on debut and England wonderkid Jamal Musiala, 17, score as Bayern Munich thrash Schalke 8-0

BAYERN MUNICH showed no signs of a Champions League hangover as they started their Bundesliga title defence with a resounding 8-0 win over Schalke.
Leroy Sane, a £55million summer arrival from Manchester City, punished his old side with a debut goal and two assists as ex-Arsenal wonderkid Serge Gnabry bagged a hat-trick.

And there was delight for 17-year-old English wonderkid Jamal Musiala as he came off the bench for his first-ever senior goal – becoming Bayern’s youngster EVER scorer in the process.
Hot off the heels of their Champions League final win against Paris Saint-Germain last summer, Bayern welcomed Schalke to the Allianz Arena on Friday night.
For fans of the club, it had been a day to forget after star midfielder Thiago Alcantara completed his £25m move to Liverpool.
But the rest of Bayern’s world-class players made sure it was business as usual as they ran rampant in another incredible display of blisteringly-quick attacking football.

Gnabry opened the scoring after just four minutes before Leon Goretzka made it 2-0 soon after.
Robert Lewandowski then netted a penalty on the half-hour mark to put Bayern in total control.
But Hansi Flick must have urged his men to step things up even further at the break.
That’s because Bayern came out firing on all cylinders in the second half, with Gnabry needing just two minutes to claim his brace.

The ace then made it a hat-trick in the 59th minute after being played in by Sane.
Thomas Muller scored ten minutes later to make it 6-0, with Lewandowski claiming a fabulous rabona assist.
Sane then opened his Bayern account two minutes after for 7-0.

Dortmund to snap-up another English star in Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, 16, from Man City who is set to be ‘next Jadon Sancho’

DORTMUND are reportedly set to snap up another young English star in Manchester City’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens – who has been billed as the next Jadon Sancho.
Reports say the deal is just days away from being completed after the Bundesliga club became interested in the 16-year-old last month.

    2

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, 16, is being tipped as England’s next big thing

Bynoe-Gittens is seen as one of the best prospects in English academy football and is set to follow in the footsteps of Sancho by going to Germany.
The Mail Online report that the wonderkid is likely to complete his move by the start of next week.
The England Under-17 international was picked up by Man City’s highly-respected national youth lead scout Sam Fagbemi.
After he was identified, the club and head of academy recruitment moved quickly to sign Bynoe-Gittens.

If the player was to move, it would be reminiscent of Jadon Sancho’s transfer to Dortmund in 2017.
The attacker has improved dramatically in his years in Germany and is now tipped for a huge money move to City’s rivals, Manchester United, three years later.

    2

Sancho has become a global footballing superstar since leaving Manchester City
A potential Bynoe-Gitten’s transfer would come fast on the heels of the move for Birmingham’s wonderkid Jude Bellingham in July.
The 17-year-old was signed for £25million after a brilliant season at St Andrews in the Championship.

But Birmingham caused confusion when they retired the midfielder’s shirt even though he played just 44 games for the club.

Thiago Alcantara seals Liverpool transfer in £25m deal from Bayern Munich in huge coup for Jurgen Klopp

LIVERPOOL have confirmed the signing of midfielder Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich.
The Spaniard, 29, has signed a four-year deal.

    2

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of midfielder Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich

Liverpool are believed to have paid a transfer fee of £25million including potential bonuses.
The Premier League champions saw off competition from Manchester United to seal the deal for in-demand Champions League winner.
Thiago said: “I think it’s an amazing feeling. I was waiting for this moment for a long time and I am very, very happy to be here.
“When the years are passing, you are trying to win as much as you can – and when you win, you want to win more.

“I think this club describes what I am as well; I want to achieve all of the goals, win as many trophies as possible.
“It also [has] this kind of family [feeling] that I need because we [like to] have a very close relationship with the club and I think I will feel this, I will have this feeling, with this club as well.”
Thiago arrives in England having helped Bayern dethrone Liverpool as kings of Europe by beating PSG in the Champions League final last month.

He spent seven seasons in Germany, having signed from Barcelona in 2013.
The midfielder won the Bundesliga title in every season with Bayern, finishing with 235 appearances for the club.
Thiago – who has  39 caps for Spain – had just a year left on his current deal in Munich before embarking on a new challenge.
He added: “I must adapt to the team as fast as I can in the situation and the context that we are living right now.
“Everything is more compact and we started a little bit later, but still it is football and I think we have to mix all the big things up, all the good things we have.
“I will help the team in a defensive and offensive [way] and also in a mental aspect.

    2

“[The fans] are not more excited than I am, for sure not! It is not about saying words, it is about doing the things.
“I will give my heart on the field to my teammates, the club and also to the fans.”
There has been speculation that current midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum could be on his way out of Anfield, with the Netherlands international entering the final year of his contract.
He’s been linked with a move to Barcelona.

The video collage showed some of his finest moments in a Bayern shirt with the 29-year-old delivering a touching monologue behind the footage.
He said: “I have made the most difficult decision of my sports career.

“I will close this chapter on this wonderful club where I have grown as a player for seven years. Triumphs, joy and also hard times.
“But what I am most proud of is that I arrived in Munich as a young man filled with dreams and now I will leave completely fulfilled with a club, a history and a culture.
“Here I learned to love a tradition that I am now saying goodbye to, but which I will never forget.
“I have experienced fantastic moments – in this city with my Bavarian family who treated me so well and loved me every second.

“My decision is purely of a sporting nature. As a soccer player I want new challenges to develop myself further.

The 29-year-old will link up with Jurgen Klopp in the coming days

“Bavaria will always be my home. Thank you FC Bayern.”
Thiago reportedly arrived in the UK this morning.
And his signing will allow Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to play up to three new formations.
It also emerged Thiago’s wife – hotel owner Julia Vigas – wanted her man to move back to Barcelona.
On Thursday, Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the player’s desire to join the Premier League champions.
He told Bild: “I can confirm that FC Bayern has finally reached an agreement with Liverpool.
“It was Thiago’s great wish to do something new at the end of his career.”

Man Utd transfer target Jadon Sancho will be ‘very important’ to Dortmund this season, insists Erling Haaland

ERLING HAALAND claims Jadon Sancho will be an “important” player for Borussia Dortmund this season – despite being wanted by Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been trying desperately to land Sancho after only making one signing this window in Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.

But United missed Borussia Dortmund’s deadline of August 10.
And it’s believed the two parties can’t agree a transfer fee despite United apparently striking personal terms with Sancho himself.
Reports yesterday claimed Soskjaer spoke with Sancho, assuring him that a move to Old Trafford is ‘close’ despite the impasse in negotiations with Dortmund.
However, Haaland appears to have signalled that Sancho will be staying put by predicting a huge season for him in Germany.

Haaland told Viaplay Football: “I think Sancho has been very good throughout the whole pre-season.
“He will be an important player for us this season.
“[Links to Man Utd?] That is not something that I am involved in.

“But if he stays, I’ll be very happy because he is both a good friend of mine and a hell of a player.”
Haaland also gave a frosty response when asked about the reported £69million release clause in his deal, with the Norwegian a previous target for United.
