Erling Haaland could make sensational Barcelona transfer if Laporta becomes president, reveals Pogba’s brother Mathias

ERLING HAALAND could make a sensational transfer to Barcelona if Joan Laporta becomes the president, Paul Pogba’s brother has claimed.
The Borussia Dortmund striker, 20, is one of Europe’s hottest properties because of his stunning goalscoring form.

He has 33 goals in 32 appearances for the German side since joining in January and has attracted plenty of attention from Real Madrid.
But as reported by Le10 Sport, Mathias Pogba – three years older than Paul – revealed the Barca presidential candidate’s plot to land Haaland.
That is due to Laporta’s close relationship with the Norwegian’s agent Mino Raiola, who also looks after the £89million Manchester United midfielder.
The 30-year-old older Pogba, a striker at Racing Murcia after spells in Britain, said: “Raiola leaves freedom to his players.

“Of course, especially since Dortmund is a good club, but Barca is Barca.
“So if he wants to pass a milestone… With a Real-Barca duel, it is sure that Raiola will have an influence.
“He’s his player, so if he gets along well with the president, it will be easier for Haaland.
“The presidential elections in Barca will therefore have a huge influence on this issue.”

Barcelona are in turmoil at the moment with Josep Maria Bartomeu pushed out as president and his successor not yet voted on.
But the club also have plenty of issues to resolve including their mounting debt and the future of captain Lionel Messi.
Selling previous No9 Luis Suarez helped save some cash but they know Haaland will not come cheap, especially with Real Madrid lining him and Kylian Mbappe up as part of a new Galactico era at the Bernabeu.

Leon Bailey denies naming son after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and says name ‘nothing to do with football’

BAYER LEVERKUSEN winger Leon Bailey says his new son Leo Cristiano is not named after Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo
The Jamaican claims the baby’s name is ‘nothing to do with football’ despite the obvious similarities.

Leon and long-term partner Stephanie celebrated the birth of their first child in June.
And having called the little lad Leo Cristiano, he has obviously faced a lot of questions.
But the 23-year-old has quashed such suggestions, insisting it was a personal choice.
He told German outlet Bild: “It has nothing to do with football, but with me and my name.

“Leo is an abbreviation of Leon. And Leo is the lion – I am a lion.
“I believe that my son will also grow up with the mentality of being a fighter and a leader.
“And Cristiano is a lovely name that goes well with Leo.”
Jamaica international Bailey is also close friends with Raheem Sterling and Usain Bolt.

The forward attended Manchester City ace Sterling’s Great Gatsby themed 25th birthday last December.
And he was also at Bolt’s surprise birthday bash in August which drew criticism in Germany because the sprint legend was forced to isolate the day afterwards.
But Bailey does not regret the decision to celebrate with his good pal.
He added: “Usain has been a very good and close friend of mine for years.
“When in Jamaica I would never turn down an invitation from him.
“He’s a kind of mentor for me, was always there for me in good and bad days.”

Man Utd target Haaland will be at Dortmund ‘for a long time’, says club chief as he issues hands-off transfer warning

ERLING HAALAND will be at Borussia Dortmund ‘for a long time’, the club’s director Michael Zorc has claimed.
The Norwegian star is in the middle of a transfer tug-of-war with Manchester United and Real Madrid both chasing the striker.

The 20-year-old has become one of the most in-demand players in European football since joining Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January.
Haaland has bagged a staggering 33 goals in his first 31 outings for BVB across all competitions to prove his quality is not in doubt.
Despite being tied to the Signal Iduna Park until 2024, the forward reportedly has a verbal agreement to leave next year.
But Dortmund chief Zorc dismissed the speculation surrounding Haaland by insisting the future of the club’s star man is in no doubt.

Speaking at a press conference, he told reporters: “We plan for the long term with Erling. [Rumours] do not have to be dealt with at all.
“I will see him with us for a long time.”
Dortmund director Zorc also brushed aside questions on whether if it is important to manage the weight of expectation on Haaland.
He added: “You don’t have to ground him at all. He exudes such a positive dynamic. Why should we slow it down now?

“He is leading the way, that is very good for us. I do not believe in artificially slowing positive developments.”
Haaland is believed to United’s top target despite their ongoing interest in his Borussia Dortmund team-mate Jadon Sancho.
Yet despite working with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Norwegian club Molde, the attacker reportedly favours a move to the Bernabeu.

Chelsea to ‘start talks with David Alaba’ over free transfer in January with defender set to quit Bayern Munich

CHELSEA are reportedly to open talks with Bayern Munich star David Alaba in the New Year.
The Bundesliga giants have taken the offer of a new contract off the table ahead of his deal expiring in the summer.

Alaba, 28, can negotiate a pre-agreement with any club in January, setting up a free transfer at the end of his Bayern stay.
Chelsea are set to be at the front of the queue in negotiating a deal, according to Bild.
The involvement of agent Pini Zahavi, who has helped Roman Abramovich’s club seal many transfers in the past, is said to help the Blues’ case.

Several rivals have been linked with the Austrian, including Liverpool and Manchester City.
This report highlights Paris Saint-Germain’s interest but Alaba is thought to not fancy a move to France.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been mentioned in reports yet the LaLiga duo are described as unable to afford the defender.
Alaba fell out with Bayern after the lack of movement in contract talks was confirmed by the club.

Club president Herbert Hainer said earlier this month that an offer was ‘no longer’ on the table after a ‘very good’ figure was deemed ‘unsatisfactory’ by the player’s camp.

Reports have suggested Zahavi wants an £18million fee for cutting a deal, leading to a furious response by one former Bayern chief.
Ex-president Uli Hoeness declared: “[Alaba] has a greedy piranha for an agent. His father, whom I like a lot, is letting himself be influenced by him very much.”
Alaba has denied the sort of figures being quoted in talks and continues to be a first-choice pick for coach Hansi Flick.
He stated: “I cannot say how it will continue from this point. I am glad to be playing for Bayern and to be a part of the team.

“But what the future will look like after yesterday evening I just cannot say, as no one has talked to me officially.
“I can completely understand the fans [being hurt]. I wish internal stuff would stay internal.
“The numbers out there do not correspond to reality and I am a bit disappointed and sad that the club never officially came out to say they are wrong.
“I have not made any thoughts about my future because Bayern was always the first point of contact. I had no contact with other clubs for that reason.” More

YOUSSOUFA MOUKOKO celebrated his stunning rise from ‘simple trainers’ to a £9million Nike boot deal after making his professional bow.

And he took to Instagram to mark the achievement and highlight his custom boots – a far cry from his humble beginnings.
Moukoko, who remarkably was still only ten in 2014, wrote: “Woahhh!
“Six years ago I was still training with simple trainers and now I’ve made my professional debut with my own football boots.
“I still can’t believe it, but it feels very, very good. Hard work pays off.”

In an earlier post, the excited star wrote: “WHAT A NIGHT!!!
“Very happy to have made my debut. But I’m even happier about the points points.
“NOTHING CAN DESCRIBE THIS FEELING – THANK YOU THANK YOU!”
Moukoko came on with five minutes to go for ‘veteran’ striker Erling Haaland, who had done Hertha enough damage by smashing in four goals in the 5-2 win.

He scored a barely-believable 192 goals in 123 youth games for Dortmund.
And the £6,000-a-week sensation pocketed a very tidy £9m deal with the sportswear giants Nike last year – with a £1m bonus simply for signing on the dotted line.
It was reported he would bag a ‘six-figure sum’ if he got on the pitch this weekend after Bundesliga officials reduced the age cap by six months to permit Moukoko to make his pro debut as soon as he turned 16.

Dortmund 5 Hertha Berlin 2: Golden Boy Erling Haaland scores FOUR as boss Lucien Favre loses count in hilarious video

ERLING HAALAND celebrated being named European Golden Boy by slapping four goals past hapless Hertha in the German capital.
The Norwegian beat off stiff competition from the likes of Ansu Fati, Alphonso Davies and Jadon Sancho to win the prestigious prize.

And he showed exactly why he was worthy of the honour on Saturday night.
Hertha had actually gone in at the break ahead, with Matheus Cunha having given them a 33rd minute lead.
But the second 45 was the Haaland show.
The 20-year-old kicked things in the 47th minute off by tucking away an Emre Can cross, after a lovely move involving Thomas Meunier and Marco Reus.

He then doubled his tally two minutes later, providing an unerring left-footed finish after being played through by the mercurial Reus.
Haaland completed his hat-trick just after the hour mark, powering through Hertha’s backline following a loose pass, before sidestepping goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow and producing a simple finish.
Raphael Guerreiro got in on the act with 20 minutes remaining, before Cunha pulled one back from the penalty spot for the home side.

Just moments later, however, Haaland had the last laugh, taking a Jude Bellingham pass into his stride before again slotting past Schwolow.

Such was the striker’s prowess, that manager Lucien Favre appeared to lose count of his tally on the touchline as he embraced Haaland following his substitution with five minutes remaining.
There was still time for one last special moment in the game, as 16-year-old prodigy Youssoufa Moukoko made his much-anticipated senior debut, when he replaced the four-goal striker late on.

I’m honest, I got a little angry with him at that moment, but that’s how football is
    Erling Haaland

After the game, Haaland claimed that he could scored even more, and that he was a ‘little angry’ at Favre for substituting him.
He said: “To be honest, after the match, Favre asked me how many goals I had scored.
“He asked me: ‘Did you score three?’ And I said, ‘No, four. Only four because you replaced me’.
“I’m honest, I got a little angry with him at that moment, but that’s how football is.”
