Man Utd target Jamal Musiala sparks tug of war between England and Germany and set to star in Club World Cup final

BAYERN MUNICH starlet Jamal Musiala is at the centre of an international tug of war between England and Germany.
The 17-year-old Man Utd target is wanted by both the Three Lions and Die Mannschaft to represent them in big tournaments.

Musiala came off the bench in Bayern Munich’s 2-0 win against Al Ahly in the Club World Cup.
And he could star in Thursday’s final against Mexican outfit Tigres.
England U21 international Musiala was born in Stuttgart but moved to London when he was seven years old.
The attacking midfielder spent eight years with the Chelsea academy before heading to Bayern in 2019.

He made his Bayern Munich debut last season and is becoming a more regular fixture in the side this year.
But the dual citizen faces a tough choice over which country to play for having represented both at youth level.
German football director Oliver Bierhoff recently told Bild: “We had a very good and open conversation.

“We clearly showed him what we think of him and that we are convinced that he will be a national team player, but it’s a very personal decision.”

Musiala is the latest youngster to leave an English side and head to the Bundesliga to continue his development – like Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham.
England U21 manager Andy Boothroyd said: “We’ve got a lot of players with dual nationality.
“It’s down to our work with them, whether they enjoy coming with us. Is it progressing their careers? I think yes, it is.

“At some point we are going to miss out on a player but the environment, system and pathway – there aren’t many who have as good a record as we do currently.
“The lads will all get their opportunity and we’ll have to make tough calls as we go on. We don’t need to do any special measures for anyone – the pathway is there.
“Some players get stretched and moved up quicker than others. I don’t think there is a better time to be an England player.”

Al Ahly 0 Bayern Munich 2: Lewandowski moves up to third in most international club goals to reach Club World Cup final

BAYERN MUNICH remain on course to win a historic sextuple after they beat Al Ahly 2-0 in the Club World Cup semi-final.

The 32-year-old – who has now scored the third amount of goals in club international competitions – broke the deadlock in the 18th minute in Qatar.
Lewandowski scored from close range after being found by Serge Gnabry, with the Poland international taking a touch before calmly slotting home.
And he made sure Bayern secured their place in Thursday’s final after heading home in the 85th minute.
The former Borussia Dortmund marksman got on the end of Leroy Sane’s floated cross to seal the victory for the Bavarian giants.

They will now face Tigres after the Mexican outfit beat Copa Libertadores champions Palmeiras 1-0 on Sunday.
Bayern are aiming to become just the second team to win the sextuple as they look to equal Barcelona’s stunning feat in 2009.
Hansi Flick’s side won the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League last term.
And they have added the German Super Cup and Uefa Super Cup to their trophy collection this campaign.

The six-time European Cup winners came close to winning the sextuple in 2013, winning all trophies that calendar year except the German Super Cup after being defeated by Dortmund.
Lewandowksi may take all the credit for Bayern’s triumphs, but boss Hansi Flick has turned the club into a European powerhouse after taking charge in November 2019.
He took the reigns at the Allianz Arena when the club were in fourth place as they flattered to deceive under Niko Kovac.
Since his appointment, Flick has lost just four games out of 68 matches – winning an incredible 58 of them.

Liverpool to face RB Leipzig in Budapest for Champions League first leg after coronavirus rules force tie out of Germany

LIVERPOOL’S Champions League last 16 away tie against RB Leipzig will be played in BUDAPEST, Uefa confirmed.
It follows after the German government banned travel to the country from areas that have mutant strains of the coronavirus, until February 17.

An application by Leipzig for special permission for Liverpool to enter the country was refused by federal police.
And now Uefa have announced the venue change with the 8pm UK kick-off time remaining the same.
They said: “UEFA would like to thank RB Leipzig and Liverpool FC for their close cooperation and assistance in finding a solution to the issue at hand, as well as the Hungarian Football Federation for their support and agreeing to host the match in question.”
The Puskas Arena in the Hungarian capital will now stage the game on February 16.

Bundesliga outfit Leipzig also considered moving the game to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but opted to stay in mainland Europe.
Manchester City are likely to play the first leg of their tie against Borussia Monchengladbach eight days later on neutral territory.
Their home matches in the second legs will go ahead as planned unless UK border regulations change.
Arsenal and Benfica, though, are now almost certain to have to play both legs of their Europa League last 32 tie on neutral grounds.

Uefa is expected to confirm the venues in the next 48 hours.

They recently insisted the delayed Euro 2020 will go ahead as scheduled this summer.
But Euro bosses have left themselves a get-out clause if the virus runs out of control and forces last-minute changes.
The viability of a tournament held in 12 nations has been under increasing question as the pandemic continues to hold sway across Europe.
But after a virtual meeting with all 12 planned host nations on Wednesday, Uefa President Aleksander Ceferin confirmed there were no current plans to rip up the current schedule.

Bayern Munich players stuck in plane on runway overnight after flight to Club World Cup in Doha was refused take off

Friday evening’s 1-0 win over Hertha Berlin in the capital was brought forward by half an hour with Bayern due to fly out from Berlin Brandenburg Airport.
The squad undertook the extra PCR coronavirus tests, as mandated by Fifa, before arriving at the airport at 10.45pm local time.
But the freezing conditions meant the plane had to be de-iced before it could take off.
The departure was pushing close to the airport’s midnight cut-off.

And with the plane finally ready to fly, according to Bild, the time had hit 30 seconds past midnight.
Bayern have confirmed the seven-hour delay with players forced to wait overnight at the airport.

The people in charge have no idea what they’ve done to our team.
    Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

Despite the airport allowing flights to begin at 5am, the team was forced to wait until 6.52am while waiting for a slot to take off.
Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the German newspaper that the delay was unacceptable.

He stated: “We feel totally messed around by the relevant authorities within Brandenburg politics.
“The people in charge have no idea what they’ve done to our team.”
An airport spokesperson told Bild: “The plane was ready to start at 11:59pm on the runway – but did not receive clearance.”
Bayern finally undertook the six-and-a-half-hour flight to the Qatari capital of Doha on Saturday.

Chelsea enter transfer race for Jadon Sancho with Dortmund resigned to losing him to Prem giant as Man Utd circle

CHELSEA are set to rival Manchester United in the transfer racefor Jadon Sancho, reports say.

Sancho remained in Germany where he has managed eight goals in 25 appearances.
It has kept demand for the 20-year-old high, with Chelsea now interested in a move for the winger, according to Sport1.
They report Dortmund have accepted they will finally lose Sancho in the next window, likely to a Premier League side.
German outfit Bild recently revealed the Bundesliga club will let him leave if they receive an offer in the region of £88m.

The coronavirus pandemic is having a brutal financial impact on football and clubs are being forced to lower their prices for their main assets.
Dortmund are believed to be facing losses of £66m and the sale of Sancho would help cover the debts.
The England international will also be another year closer to the end of his contract in Germany which expires in the summer of 2023.
Sancho scored 17 goals in 32 league matches on the way to becoming one of the hottest properties in Europe last season.

But he has suffered a dip in form this Bundesliga campaign, scoring just three times.
As a result, it is believed to have contributed in his price tag being sliced to £88m.

Chelsea want to ‘hijack Real Madrid’s move for David Alaba’ as Tuchel seeks to bolster Blues defence with contract rebel

THOMAS TUCHEL is reportedly ready to make a counter-offer to hijack Real Madrid’s bid for David Alaba.
Bayern Munich are set to wave goodbye to the long-serving Austrian defender when his contract expires in the summer.

Chelsea are one of several teams said to be interested in the 28-year-old, along with Madrid, Liverpool, and Manchester United.
According to The Guardian, the Blues want to make a last-ditch attempt to gazump the LaLiga giants.
New boss Tuchel is reportedly looking to improve his defence despite keeping clean sheets in each of his first three games in charge.
The German has opted for experience so far with Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta returned to the team alongside Thiago Silva.

A versatile defender who started out as a midfielder, Alaba would fit into a number of positions in Tuchel’s 3-4-1-2.
But Spanish media believe a free transfer to Real Madrid is done and dusted.
A four-year deal worth £185,000-a-week has already been agreed, according to Marca.
Inter Milan full-back Achraf Hakimi has been linked to Chelsea amid the Italian club’s financial crisis.

Dayot Upamecano is another reported target with the RB Leipzig star’s £38million release clause activating in the summer.
The Blues downed London rivals Spurs 1-0 at Tottenham Stadium on Thursday night.
Tuchel said afterwards: “In general I am very pleased with the result, it is a deserved win.
“We were very good in the first half, very dominant and strong with the ball, good counter-pressing and we did not allow counter-attacks against one of the most dangerous sides.
“We lacked a little bit of precision in the box and composure to make it 2-0 and to score more goals and decide the match, so the second half was a bit hard.
“We had some easy ball loses, and we lost a little bit of ball possession and confidence, but we never lost the structure to defend, we never lost the intensity to push up high, and the courage to defend up high and up front, so I am very pleased.
“It is normal if you play a dominant game like this and you don’t score the second goal, it can happen that some minutes arrive when you have to suffer.
“But we were absolutely ready for that both mentally and physical, and I am super happy with the effort. We defended excellently.”

Bayern star Boateng breaks up with model girlfriend Kasia who has his name TATTOOED on her after she crashes his Mini

JEROME BOATENG’S ex-girlfriend Kasia Lenhardt has branded the Bayern Munich defender as a ‘devil’ after he accused her of blackmailing him.
The 32-year-old announced earlier this week that he and the former Germany’s Next Top Model finalist have separated after 15 months of dating.

German news outlet Bild exclusively revealed that Kasia had been involved in a car accident in Boateng’s Mini on January 5, resulting in the vehicle being a write-off.
After crashing into a street lamp, Kasia, 25, was taken to the Berlin Charite where she was found to have 0.6 per thousand alcohol in her blood.
Shortly after that news broke, Boateng took to his Instagram story to state that he had ended his relationship with Kasia – who bears a tattoo of his name on her chest.
He said: “As is known from the media, I ended the relationship with Kasia Lenhardt.

“We will go our separate ways from now on. That is regrettable, but for my family and for me it is the only right one.
“I had to take this step and draw a line. I apologise to everyone I’ve hurt especially with my ex-girlfriend Rebecca and our children.
“I am disappointed in myself too. A man has to take responsibility and act in the interests of his family and I’m doing it now.
“I wish Kasia all the best. Jerome Boateng.”

Kasia was quick to comment on Boateng’s statement, as she then made her own announcement on her Instagram story.
Accusing Boateng of cheating on her, she claimed: “I ended the relationship because of all your lies and constant infidelity.
“But well, that fits into the picture again. All the best!”
Boateng then told Bild that Kasia was blackmailing him, as he said: “Kasia became my girlfriend by destroying the relationship with my ex-girlfriend Rebecca and my family and blackmailed me.
“So I decided to stay with Kasia and try to make it work.”
To which Kasia hit back in a now deleted post by uploading a picture of the pair from their happy days.

Captioning the image, she remarked: “The Devil does his best.”
Meanwhile she also stated: “I will definitely speak up, but I have to collect myself. Please give me time.
“I will fight back! Because I’ve never been so deceived, used and lied to. Give me a moment.”
