Watch Erling Haaland STORM OFF pitch as frustrated striker scores two but Dortmund still can’t beat Koln

ERLING HAALAND showed his fury as Borussia Dortmund lost ground in the race to qualify for next season’s Champions League.Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Koln saw the Norwegian score twice but his team are now four points off fourth place with eight games to go.

It all started so well at RheinEnergieStadion as Haaland picked up a long ball over the top to open the scoring inside the first three minutes.
The 20-year-old showed great strength to round his marker and slot home at the near-post.
But 14th-placed Koln bounced back with a penalty from Ondrej Duda and Ismail Jakobs’ powerful strike.
Once again, Haaland showed his marksman talents to rescue a late point for Borussia.
An Ansgar Knauff cross was finished off by the striker to avoid a second defeat in three Bundesliga games.
Yet Haaland’s frustration was evident as, with the full-time whistle still blowing, he took off his shirt and threw it away.

He casually tossed it into the arms of opposition defender Jorge Mere and marched straight down the tunnel.
Jude Bellingham was one team-mate seen flat out on the turf as the understandably gutted squad lost control of their top-four fate.
After the game, Haaland’s official Twitter account posted: “Not a great result. We will use this as motivation to be back stronger! Thanks to all the BVB fans for your continued support. We’ll be back soon!”

Dortmund were drawn against Manchester City in the upcoming Champions League quarter-finals and all eyes will be on Haaland as he squares up against a side linked with his signature.
The youngster now has 33 goals in 31 games this season, including 21 in 21 Bundesliga matches.
But his Borussia team-mates have failed to keep pace, with Jadon Sancho the club’s next highest league scorer on six.

Chelsea ‘promise’ to break bank for £130m Erling Haaland transfer if Tuchel qualifies for Champions League next season

CHELSEA have ‘promised’ to break the bank for £130million man Erling Haaland if Thomas Tuchel qualifies for Champions League, reports say.The Borussia Dortmund forward has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in the world, with 31 goals in 30 games so far.

It has attracted attention from from Europe’s elite, with Chelsea and Real Madrid among those heavily linked.
Haaland is advised by super-agent Mino Raiola, who has admitted before that only ten clubs can afford the striker, four of which are from England.
According to journalist Xavier Bosch of Mundo Deportivo, the 20-year-old will ‘choose his future with Raiola’s permission’.
It is claimed Dortmund are willing to sell Haaland next summer, but only for £130m.
And it could then be down to whichever team fronts the most cash, leaving Chelsea and Real Madrid favourites over Manchester United and Barcelona.
It is said that Blues bosses have given their word to manager Tuchel that they will fund a move for Haaland, but only if they qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Dortmund are open to selling the lethal finisher because he has a release clause in 2022, allowing him to leave for just £65m.
Timo Werner is currently leading the line for Chelsea after his £47.5m move from RB Leipzig last year.

But despite promising performances, he has only found the net ten times this season.
It has seen his future at Stamford Bridge come under questions, with rumours he could even be used in a deal to prize Haaland to West London.
But manager Tuchel was quick to shut down those suggestions as nothing more than speculation.
He said: “In the moment I don’t see why he should be frustrated. We gave him a little time to breathe against Leeds.
“But right now, I don’t see why he should be too frustrated. And honestly, nobody here is blaming the strikers.
“This is a team effort to attack and defend, but we expect our guys to create more chances, to be more decisive because we expect the defenders to play on the highest level and so we also expect that of our strikers.
“And then maybe all the stuff you read will disappear.”

Matteo Guendouzi determined to fight for Arsenal future and vows to ‘give everything’ despite Mikel Arteta row

MATTEO GUENDOUZI has vowed to fight for his Arsenal career once his Hertha Berlin loan spell comes to an end.
Mikel Arteta sent the Frenchman to the Bundesliga following a bust-up over his attitude.

The Gunners boss was less than impressed with Guendouzi’s reaction to a ill-tempered defeat at Brighton, having already marked the midfielder’s card in his strict approach to team discipline.
The 21-year-old has played 19 times in Germany as Hertha look to secure survival in the top-tier.
But, with the loan move unlikely to be made permanent given Berlin’s lack of finances, Guendouzi hopes to return to North London in the summer.
When asked about his career at Arsenal being over, he told France Football “No, not at all.

“Now, I am focused on my season with Hertha Berlin.
“Next, we will have a sit down with my entourage and people at the club to think and discuss the future.
“I am still an Arsenal player. This summer will be a decisive moment.”
Guendouzi is under contract at Emirates Stadium until 2022 although SunSport revealed last month that the Gunners plan to make him available for transfer as part of a summer clearout.

Nevertheless, the player is determined not to fall victim to the club’s cost-cutting drive.
On the prospect of returning next season, he added: “Yes, of course. I belong to Arsenal for another year.
“I am here to improve. From the moment that I am playing for Arsenal, I will give everything for this club, for the fans, for the team, for the staff.
“I will work hard for the shirt as I have always done.”

Haaland, 20, will be available for just £65m in the summer of 2022, when a release clause becomes active.
But as many as SIX clubs have already registered their interest in taking him ahead of next season.
And according to Bild, it will take DOUBLE his release clause in order to capture him from Dortmund a year early.
In addition to the Premier League quartet, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also after Haaland’s signature.

In fact, Mundo Deportivo last week claimed that he is Barca’s new club president Joan Laporta’s ‘big dream’ this summer.
Should they lose out, however, Barca will prioritise Man City legend Sergio Aguero… a man that could be replaced by Haaland at Eastlands.
Dortmund chief Michael Zorc has defiantly claimed that the German side will try and keep Haaland for as long as possible, while gushing over his quality.
He told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag: “I have never seen someone like him. We can search Europe-wide.

Shkodran Mustafi, Soktratis Papastathopoulos and Sead Kolasinac were all allowed to leave in January.
And with Calum Chambers set to follow suit in the summer, the Gunners are hunting reinforcements.
According to the Express, N’Dicka could kickstart the process.
The 21-year-old is reportedly valued at £19million by Frankfurt, having impressed at the back under Adi Hutter.

N’Dicka has become a mainstay on the left of Hutter’s back-three, making 17 appearances this season.
    And the imposing 6ft 4in centre-back has also broken into France’s impressive Under-21 set-up.
Come the summer, N’Dicka will have two years remaining on his current contract.
Arsenal could also strengthen their midfield, with Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma reportedly of interest.

Bayern star Lewandowski scores to become joint-second highest Bundesliga scorer – but still needs 97 to catch Muller

ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI became the joint-second highest Bundesliga scorer of all-time with a goal in Bayern Munich’s 3-1 win over Werder Bremen.
The 32-year-old moved level with former Schalke man Klaus Fischer on 268 goals with a close-range finish after a defensive mix-up.

Robert Lewandowski continued his sensational scoring run in Bayern’s comfortable win on Saturday – and is now the second-highest scorer ever in the BundesligaCredit: AFP or licensors

But he is still some way off breaking the record as German legend Gerd Muller remains 97 goals in front on a remarkable 365.
Lewandowski’s 268 Bundesliga goals – of which 74 were for Borussia Dortmund and 194 for Bayern – have come in 345 appearances, 190 fewer than Fischer.
However, if he is to equal the all-time record in fewer games than Muller then he will have to net the 97 goals required in just 81 matches.
Bayern extended their lead over RB Leipzig at the top of the table to five points with a routine win away at Werder Bremen.

Leon Goretzka opened the scoring midway through the first half with a powerful header past Jiri Pavlenka.
And the German champions doubled their lead 13 minutes later when Serge Gnabry was set-up beautifully by Thomas Muller before finishing coolly.

Watch Arsenal flop Shkodran Mustafi score comedy own goal in 5-0 defeat leaving Schalke winless in five since he joined

ARSENAL flop Shkodran Mustafi scored a comical own goal for new club Schalke in a 5-0 defeat at Wolfsburg.
And the Germans are now without a win in five games since his February 1 arrival from the Emirates.

Mustafi’s arrival on a free transfer from Arsenal in January was meant to shore things up at the back.
But Schalke have now lost five with the World Cup winner in their team.
And the ’performance was one Mustafi, 28, will want to forget quickly.
With the score tied 0-0 after half an hour, Mustafi played a dodgy clearance from his penalty area straight back to the feet of an opponent.

The Wolfsburg man fired a pass straight back into the fray, where it took a bounce off two players competing to win it.
The ball sailed up in the air back towards Mustafi, who casually headed it to his own goalkeeper, Frederik Ronnow.
But the header was so relaxed it comically floated through the air and to the right of Schalke’s goalie, who was expecting to receive it in a more central location.
Ronnow had no chance of stopping it as Mustafi simply slapped his legs in frustration.

Arsenal have let £163.5m worth of signings quit for free since January 2018

And instead of firing Schalke up for a comeback, it simply opened the floodgates for Wolfsburg.
Second-half goals from Wout Weghorst, Ridle Baku, Josip Brekalo and Max Phillipp saw the hosts end up winning 5-0.
Schalke’s hammering at Wolfsburg leaves them rooted to the bottom of the Bundesliga table and NINE points adrift from safety.
The Royal Blues have just two points in five games since Mustafi arrived – with the club conceding 13 goals in that time.
Arsenal fans were quick to have their say on Mustafi’s latest mishap via social media.
One said: “Cant even hack it in the Bundesliga, shame.”
Another wrote: “How can you be fighting relegation and still sign this calamity?”
One added: “I had to put up with this for years. Actually rated him before he joined, then he turned into, well, one should not say.”

Bayer Leverkusen lead Arsenal in transfer chase to sign Germany star Julian Draxler on free this summer from PSG

BAYER LEVERKUSEN lead Arsenal in the transfer race to sign Julian Draxler, according to reports.
The Paris Saint-Germain playmaker, 27, is out of contract in the summer and will therefore become a free agent at the end of the season.

And Todofichajes state the Bundesliga side are the likeliest to land the German because he wants to return to his homeland.
He came through the youth ranks at Schalke to make his first-team debut aged 17 then had a spell at Wolfsburg before joining PSG in 2017, winning three Ligue 1 titles.
The 56-cap Germany international also has seven goals for Die Mannschaft and lifted the World Cup in 2014 under Joachim Low.
Draxler also has reservations about making the switch to Arsenal.

He would be concerned about how much playing time he would get under Mikel Arteta at the Emirates.
The Gunners have youngsters Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka in form, Martin Odegaard could join permanently while Willian and Nicolas Pepe have hit purple patches.
The report adds Bayer have tracked Draxler for a while and now appear close to landing their target.
Due to the lack of transfer fee, Leverkusen will also make him one of their top earners.

Draxler was linked with Leeds during the January transfer window but ended up staying put at the Parc des Princes.
In a season hit with injury woes and up against some of the world’s best players in competition for places, he has managed 20 appearances in all competitions, scoring three.
But he was given a rare start in the 1-1 draw with Barcelona on Wednesday night as PSG booked their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
He was replaced just before the hour mark by fit-again Angel Di Maria.
