Manchester United are closing in on long-term target Jadon Sancho
Personal terms based on a five-year deal worth £350,000-a-week have already been agreed.
Despite reports of wrangling, United have long been comfortable about the transfer going through smoothly after a year-long pursuit of the England international, 21.
This time last year they embarked on a summer of bartering before refusing to meet an asking price of £110m from the Germans.
United also spoke to Erling Haaland before the Euros, but the Dortmund striker has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid.
Sancho has thrived at Dortmund after spending his youth career with Watford and then Manchester City.
In his last two seasons in the Bundesliga he has hit 36 goals and provided 40 assists in 82 games.
But he has only played six minutes of England’s three Euros group games so far, coming on as a substitute against the Czech Republic.

Sancho has 20 England caps but has scored just three times for his country.
The winger last played in England in 2017, featuring for City’s under-18s.
His arrival on the other side of Manchester could be a boost in more ways than one, as the Red Devils look to climb above their rivals to win the Premier League next term.

Chelsea face missing out on Niklas Sule transfer with Bayern considering one-year contract offer for defender

CHELSEA transfer target Niklas Sule could extend his Bayern Munich contract, according to reports.Thomas Tuchel is believed to be keen on the centre-back but so far the Blues have not made a bid for Sule, 25.
Chelsea have chased Niklas Sule over the last few months
But with just a year remaining on his current Bayern contract, there is some doubt about Sule’s future.
The Bundesliga champions will reportedly look to secure his services for a further year, report Sport Bild.
The outlet also claims Chelsea are still interested, but state an offer has been a long time coming from the European champions.
Sule joined Bayern Munich from Hoffenheim for £21million in 2017.
He has made 133 appearances for the club but lost his regular spot in the side last season, starting just 16 league games.
Despite his lack of game time, it is believed Chelsea have made the £30m-rated centre-back one of their top transfer targets.
And given the financial restraints brought about by the pandemic, it was thought Bayern could sacrifice Sule this summer.

Chelsea reportedly opened transfer talks with Bayern for a £26m deal in February.
But if the German outfit extend his deal by a year Chelsea may have to turn their focus elsewhere.

A continued stay in Bavaria is reportedly Goretzka’s preferred option but negotiations over his salary have not yet produced an agreement.
The 26-year-old’s agent, Jorg Neubauer, was recently forced to retire and Neubauer’s wife has taken charge in his stead along with Bundesliga heavyweight agent Thomas Kroth.
According to German outlet Sport1, a deal is very much in sight with Bayern determined not to lose the player.
But interest is high with Premier League clubs as well as Real Madrid and Barcelona reportedly contacting his new representatives.
In three seasons with Munich, Goretzka has won a trio of Bundesliga titles plus two DfB-Pokals and a Champions League.
He is tipped to start in Germany’s Euro 2020 decider against Hungary on Wednesday night having overcome a thigh problem.

And Goretzka said: “I’ve got it in me to play the Thomas Muller role.
“In many ways, his position for the national time is similar to mine. It’s a position I’ve played in before for the national team, and I’m ready to help the team.
“The tournament can really begin for me now.”

Man Utd ‘launch improved Jadon Sancho transfer bid worth more than £75m’ but Dortmund demand ‘non-negotiable’ £86m fee

MANCHESTER UNITED have submitted a bid worth more than £75million for Jadon Sancho, according to reports. As revealed by SunSport this month, £350,000-a-week personal terms have already been agreed between the player and the Old Trafford club.
Manchester United have reportedly made a formal approach for Jadon SanchoCredit: Reuters
And German newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten state a formal offer has been lodged for United’s No1 summer transfer target.
United have bid an initial £67m for Sancho, with add-ons taking the overall value of the deal to over £75m.
Dortmund, however, want a fee closer to £86m – with more money guaranteed rather than in performance-related bonuses.
This figure is £22m less than the £108m the Bundesliga side wanted last summer when a deal could not be agreed.
But a year on, United are confident of securing a deal for the England wide man who is currently at the Euros.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano added negotiations are still ongoing but the clubs are ‘confident and optimistic’ of reaching an agreement with final details over payments needing ironing out.
Dortmund ideally want Sancho’s future to be sorted out by the middle of July before they head off on their pre-season training camp.
That would in turn give them time to find a replacement in time for the new season.

He has progressed into the first team and made 31 appearances in 2020-21, scoring nine goals.
Former Arsenal youngster and Madueke’s PSV team-mate Donyell Malen could also be a target for Dortmund.
The Dutch winger, 22, joined PSV from Arsenal in 2017.
His progression in recent years has been remarkable, racking up 55 goals in 116 appearances and is already the vice-captain of the club.

Mario Gotze spotted with Jurgen Klopp at Mallorca Open after confirming ex-Dortmund boss wanted him at Liverpool

MARIO GOTZE and Jurgen Klopp were pictured taking in the Mallorca Open tennis together as the Germans enjoyed their summer breaks. It comes just weeks after PSV midfielder Gotze confirmed he snubbed Klopp’s Liverpool in 2016 to return to Borussia Dortmund.

The pair were pictured in the stands in Spain for the opening of the ATP event on Saturday with Gotze’s wife Ann-Kathrin also in attendance.
Klopp stopped to chat to the gathered press pack as he made his way to his seats.
Several attendees were pictured with masks on but Gotze and Klopp decided against it.
They were also pictured with a third man who was sat next to Klopp.
Gotze, 29, played under Klopp at Borussia Dortmund where they won Bundesliga titles together in 2011 and 2012.
The midfielder then sealed a shock move to closest rivals Bayern Munich in 2013.
But his time in Bavaria was blighted by injury and, despite adding a further three titles to his collection Gotze returned to Dortmund in 2016.
However, the World Cup winner has revealed he could have instead moved to Anfield for a reunion with his old boss.

Indeed, the pair even met to discuss a stunning Premier League transfer.
But Gotze, who scored the only goal in the 2014 World Cup final, ended up opting for a return to Dortmund as he believed they offered him a greater chance of success in the Champions League.
Gotze told 11 Freunde: “You have to imagine it like this: Where did I come from?
“From Munich, where I had reached the semis in the Champions League three times with Bayern. I wanted to do that again.
“Liverpool finished eighth in the league. In the situation at the time, the likelihood of winning the Champions League with Borussia seemed much greater.”
Ironically, Liverpool went on to win Europe’s biggest prize in 2019. And they followed that up with a historic title win in 2019-20.
Meanwhile, Gotze’s fitness problems continued at Dortmund. And last summer he joined Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven on a free transfer.
He has just one year left on his contract and it remains to be seen if he will be on the move once again.

Chelsea keen on Jude Bellingham and ‘hope Erling Haaland pursuit will help them pull off transfer’

DEALS for Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland could intertwine in a busy summer for Chelsea, according to reports. The Blues are long-term admirers of the Borussia Dortmund pair and tried to sign Bellingham, 17, before he moved to Germany.

That interest has not gone away following his quick adaptation to playing for one of the Bundesliga’s top clubs.
But the Blues will have to tread carefully in dealing with Dortmund, in the knowledge that they also hold the key to the future of Haaland.
As reported by Goal, Chelsea hope a good relationship can be struck up with the German team.
If they can find a mutually-beneficial route to signing Haaland, there is said to be optimism that Borussia will be more open to doing a deal for Bellingham further down the road.
In the past, the clubs have not seen eye to eye after Chelsea turned down bids for Kevin De Bruyne and Michy Batshuayi.
And managing relationships will certainly be key to bringing a new striker to Stamford Bridge with agent Mino Raiola such a big figure in Haaland’s camp.

A move for the Norwegian this summer will be expensive but the Blues are aware that he can be signed for a reduced release clause in 2022.
Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City are all in the running for what could be a £65million deal next year.
Chelsea also have Harry Kane on their radar but do not hold the best of relationships with Tottenham, reinforcing Daniel Levy’s desire not to sell the England forward.

Meanwhile, Bellingham is reportedly in talks to sign a new contract in Germany.
Dortmund are preparing to double the midfielder’s wages while extending his stay to 2025.

Chelsea launch Erling Haaland swap transfer bid as they offer £60m AND Tammy Abraham for Dortmund star

CHELSEA have launched a bid of £60million AND Tammy Abraham for Erling Haaland, according to reports. The Blues are one of a number of teams chasing the Borussia Dortmund striker this summer.
Erling Haaland scored 41 goals last seasonCredit: AP
They are seeking to move ahead of the pack, by making their move early.
According to Italian reporter Ekrem Konur, Chelsea have opened the bidding at £60m and Abraham in a player-plus-cash deal.
Dortmund have so far been determined to hold out for a bumper £150m fee this summer.
But the prospect of signing a replacement in Abraham, while receiving a similar fee to what they’d make when his £68m release clause becomes active next season, may be an attractive proposition.
Haaland, 20, scored 41 goals in 41 games in all competitions during the 2020-21 season.
He has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City this summer.
His father Alf-Inge, alongside Mino Raiola, visited the LaLiga pair in April.
But Chelsea may have stolen a march on the competition.

Abraham, 23, finished the season out of favour at Stamford Bridge.
But he has shown promise within his two seasons as part of the first-team.
The six-cap England international scored 18 goals during the 2019-20 campaign.
And despite being brutally frozen out by Thomas Tuchel, Abraham managed 12 goals in just 18 starts last season.
