Chelsea flop Timo Werner ’70 per cent likely’ to complete Bayern Munich transfer next summer amid links with Nagelsmann

TIMO WERNER is reportedly ’70 per cent likely’ to swap Chelsea for Bayern Munich next summer to reunite with Julian Nagelsmann. The 25-year-old only departed the Bundesliga last year to link up with the Blues from RB Leipzig, but he could be set to return to his native Germany.

Werner – without a goal from his three Blues outings this term – mustered just six Premier League strikes from 35 games last campaign.
And with the West Londoners bringing in Romelu Lukaku for £97.5million, Werner’s chances in the first-team could be limited.
According to German news outlet Sport1, all signs point towards a move to Bavaria where he could potentially replace Robert Lewandowski.
The Poland international, 33, is understood to be keen for a fresh challenge away from Bayern after seven trophy-laden years with the Munich outfit.
It has been said that former RB Leipzig boss Nagelsmann, now manager at Bayern, is in regular contact with Werner.
He is claimed to be Bayern’s alternative to Erling Haaland should they fail to prise the £64m striker away from Borussia Dortmund.

Werner’s name has been discussed among the Allianz Arena hierarchy who would welcome him at the club.
Should he join Bayern, Werner would not only be reunited with Nagelsmann, but also former Leipzig team-mates Dayot Upamencano and Marcel Sabitzer.
Despite Werner’s struggles in front of goal for Chelsea, the 2021 Champions League winner has been in inspired form for Germany.
The centre-forward scored in all three of Germany’s World Cup qualifiers during the international break.
Though he was guilty of another horrendous miss from close range in Wednesday’s 4-0 win against Iceland.
Prior to bagging his 19th goal for Germany, the ex-Stuttgart ace failed to tuck away a chance from around seven yards out.

And fans were quick to have their say on social media.
One quipped: “Keeper wasn’t even troubled enough to take a look.”
Another remarked: “Three guarantees in life: Death, taxes and Werner missing open goals.”

Despite the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain all keen to sign Haaland in 2022 for £64million, Arsene Wenger believes he is destined to play in England.
He told Bild: “I think that will happen [a move to England]. The economic power of the Premier League is too strong.
“English football is dominant because it is where the most money is. The best players always go the best way to make the most money.

Chelsea ‘interested in shock Leroy Sane transfer swoop with Thomas Tuchel huge fan of struggling Bayern Munich star’

LEROY SANE could be on his way back to the Premier League just one year after leaving Manchester City for the Bundesliga. According to the Express Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel ‘is a fan’ of the 25-year-old winger.

Arsenal and Tottenham are also rumoured to be interested in the struggling Sane.
But the report suggests Chelsea are in a better position to make a move with the offer of Champions League football, and there are three players that could be sent the other way in a possible swap deal.
One of those is Callum Hudson-Odoi, who was linked with a loan move to Borussia Dortmund during the closing stages of the transfer window.
But fellow Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have also had Hudson-Odoi ‘on their radar’ for some time according to the Express, and the Blues could sanction a move.

The Stamford Bridge side refused to let Hudson-Odoi join Borussia Dortmund on loan because they failed to bring in a replacement, but the potential capture of Leroy Sane could change that.
Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic have also been touted as possible bargaining tools by the Express.

Sane has struggled to make a real impact for the Bavarian giants after his initial £44million move from Manchester City in July 2020.
At the time of his move transfermarkt valued Sane at £72million, but that valuation has now dropped to £54million in just over 12 months.
The 25-year-old managed just six goals in 32 Bundesliga games last campaign, and is goalless in a further three appearances so far this season.

His form has led to rumours of a Premier League return with Sane yet to complete 90 minutes for Bayern Munich in the 2021/22 Bundesliga season.
And Sane has already proven his worth in England’s top flight, scoring 25 times and providing 31 assists in 90 Premier League games for Manchester City.
He played a total of 135 times for the Cityzens after joining from Schalke in 2016.
During that time he won the Premier League and League Cup twice, as well as one FA Cup.

Manchester United, City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich were all believed to be keen on securing his services.
Attention will now turn towards 2022 with the Norway international now available for just £64million due to a clause in his contract.
It was recently claimed how clubs were put off signing Haaland in the recent transfer window after being told he would cost £500million over five years.
And now Sport Bild reporter Christian Falk has revealed the whopping demands his agent Raiola was seeking for his client.

SunSport understands that both the Red Devils and the Citizens will go head-to-head for his signature next summer.
Despite United’s recent signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, the club remain on the lookout for a centre-forward.
Meanwhile City are still yet to replace Sergio Aguero, and having come up short in their quest to sign Harry Kane, a striker will be Pep Guardiola’s priority.

But despite the furore surrounding Haaland’s future, Dortmund boss Marco Rose is confident he’ll see out the remainder of his contract in Germany.
He told Bild: “He still has a long-term contract with us [until 2024].
“Just because the public is constantly talking about him leaving next summer, that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case.”

Former Tottenham defender Trippier was understood to be the Red Devils’ first choice, with the player keen to make the switch to Old Trafford.
Meanwhile Portuguese full-back Dalot was in talks with Bundesliga giants BVB over an initial loan switch.
However United would have only allowed Dalot to depart if they managed to sign a replacement for him, with the club letting Brandon Williams join Norwich.
And according to Sport1 reporter Patrick Berger, United failed in a late move to bring Trippier back to England after two years in Spain.
He tweeted on deadline day: “Diogo Dalot will NOT join Borussia Dortmund as Manchester United can’t find a right-back replacement.
“Understand Atletico Madrid turned down a €21m [£18m] bid from Man Utd for Kieran Trippier.

Trippier has featured in all of Atletico’s three LaLiga games this term – coming on as a substitute in the first two games before starting against Villarreal.
Meanwhile Dalot has appeared just once for United in their opening three Premier League matches with Wan-Bissaka starting every fixture.

He came on as a 93rd minute substitute in the 1-0 win against Wolves on Sunday – his first outing in the top-flight since February 2020.
Dalot has been limited to substitute cameos in each of his last Premier League games, with his appearances totalling just seven minutes.
Since his £19m switch from Porto in 2018, the ex-AC Milan loanee has been limited to just 36 matches, scoring once.

Diogo Dalot’s Man Utd transfer exit blocked by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after defender looked set for Dortmund loan

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has pulled the plug on Diogo Dalot’s Old Trafford escape. The Portuguese right-back was set to join Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan with an option to buy next summer.

But SunSport understands Manchester United boss Solskjaer has informed Dalot, 22, the deal is off.
Ole is keen to keep the defender around the squad as back-up this campaign – and feels his departure would leave them short in that area.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is their first choice right back, while Brandon Williams – who can play in that role – has joined Norwich on loan.
Dalot spent last season on loan with Italian giants AC Milan – but will have to make do with United’s bench this time around.
United are also content with their spending so far this summer with Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo coming through the door.
Dalot’s exit would give Ole and United a dilemma of needing to sign a replacement, which appears unlikely at this stage with the window shutting Tuesday.

Dalot joined United from Porto for £19m in 2018 – but has struggled to force himself into first team contention, making just 21 Prem appearances since arriving.

Man Utd make Erling Haaland top striker transfer target with Solskjaer and John Murtough in total agreement

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly decided Erling Haaland is their No1 transfer target. The Red Devils are on the hunt for a new striker to succeed veteran Edinson Cavani.

And according to the Manchester Evening News, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and football director John Murtough are in ‘mutual agreement’ Haaland is their preferred option.
The report adds the United brass – including Solskjaer and Murtough – will sit down for their first recruitment meeting.
And top of the agenda will be working out a strategy to land the club’s next No9.
Cavani’s contract expires in June, by which time he will be 35, so a centre forward is a priority for summer 2022.
Harry Kane has been linked previously but is staying put at Tottenham for now and would prefer to join Manchester City.
Kylian Mbappe will likely be a Real Madrid player by then – either signing this week or arranging a free transfer for next year.

And United look on course to go after Borussia Dortmund ace Haaland.
The 21-year-old has already established himself as one of the very best strikers in world football.
The fact that his £64million release clause kicks in next summer makes him an even more appealing target.
Reports this week stated United may well be at the front of the queue to secure a cut-price deal – especially because the ex-Molde man ‘dreams’ of playing in the Premier League.
Norwegian Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping his personal ties with his compatriot can also ensure United win the race for his signature – despite being turned down in late 2019 when Haaland joined Dortmund.
However, any attempt to sign Haaland would mean having to deal with his controversial agent Mino Raiola.
It is thought he would demand a £34m fee for himself as well as whopping £825,000-a-week wages for his client.
Haaland looks on course to remain with the Bundesliga side for the 2021-22 season, which he has started with five goals in five games after 41 in 41 last term.
Dortmund boss Marco Rose is confident his main man is going nowhere at the end of the window which saw Jadon Sancho swap Dortmund for Old Trafford.
He told Bild: “He still has a long-term contract with us [until 2024].

“Just because the public is constantly talking about him leaving next summer, that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case.
“In the end, Erling has to decide for himself where he sees his future.
“In any case, we are happy that he is currently playing for us – and, who knows, possibly it’ll be even more than just one season if we write an extraordinary story here.”

Bremer 0 Bayern Munich 12: Choupo-Moting gets FOUR goals and three assists and Jamal Musiala hits two in Cup drubbing

STOKE flop Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting hit four as Bayern Munich bulldozed fifth-tier side Bremer SV in the German Cup first round.Julian Nagelsmann’s side proved to be too good against the Bremen minnows at the Weserstadion in the delayed clash, which was originally scheduled for earlier this month.

Bremer SV boss Benjamin Eta dubbed the fixture a game for the ages and said that his personal wish was to see counterpart Nagelsmann jumping up from anger.
But Nagelsmann had very little jumping to do, however, as his heavily rotated team took a 5-0 lead by half-time, with Choupo-Moting scoring a hat trick.
The ex-RB Leipzig gaffer had left Robert Lewandowski, Leon Goretzka and Manuel Neuer in Munich, while Dayot Upamecano, Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry were all on the bench.
Kingsley Coman and Lucas Hernandez were unavailable due to injury, resulting in Omar Richards making his Bayern debut at left back.
Former Paris Saint-Germain striker Choupo-Moting opened the scoring in the eighth minute after firing in off the underside of the crossbar, before Jamal Musiala made it 2-0 in the 16th minute.
It was 3-0 in the 27th minute after Bremer defender Jan-Luca Warms’ attempted clearance from a Musiala strike resulted in an own goal, seconds before Choupo-Moting doubled his tally.

He completed his hat-trick in the 35th minute, and despite Bayern 5-0 up at the break, Nagelsmann made three changes – much to the dismay of their opponents.
Substitute Malik Tillman scored shortly after the restart on his senior debut for Bayern, with Musiala banging in his second moments later.
Leroy Sane then got on the score sheet in the 65th minute, before Bremer were reduced to ten men after Udo Nobile was sent off for hauling back Tillmann.
Michael Cuisance, Choupo-Moting, Bouna Sarr and Corentin Tolisso all scored in the final minutes to cap Bayern’s second biggest win in their history.
