The Midlands club signed the teenager up to a first pro deal on his 17th birthday, which runs for two-and-a-half more years.
Dean Smith has stressed that Villa do have a plan for Chukwuemeka – who CEO Christian Purslow called ‘the best 16-year-old in the country’ last year.
The manager said: “He’s got a pathway at the football club.
“He’s got a plan at the football club. He’s doing extremely well. He’s training with the first-team regularly.
Carney’s in a good place with us at the moment training with us and he’s enjoying he’s football.Dean Smith

“He’s been on the bench for us. He’s been in a number of squads and he’s doing excellently. We’re really pleased with his progress so far.
“He’s doing very well in age-football at the moment and I recall watching Wayne Rooney play against Aston Villa in the FA Youth Cup final in 2002… I remember watching the game and he developed very quickly as a player.
“Our job is finding that balance for their development – the maturation of the players. Carney’s in a good place with us at the moment training with us and he’s enjoying he’s football.”

Lehmann accidentally sent a WhatsApp to the former Germany international Aogo asking “Is Dennis actually your token black guy?”
A stunned Aogo posted a screenshot of the message on his Instagram story and said: “Wow, are you serious? This message was probably not meant for me.”
Lehmann swiftly apologised on Wednesday morning but was sacked from his role on Hertha Berlin’s board.
The ex-Arsenal goalkeeper tweeted: “In a private message from my cell phone to Dennis Aogo, an impression was created for which I apologised in conversation with Dennis.
“As a former national player he is very knowledgeable and has a great presence and brings odds at Sky.”
Hertha Berlin president Werner Gegenbauer said in a statement: “Such statements are in no way representative of the values that Hertha BSC stands for.
“We distance ourselves from all forms of racism and welcome the action taken by (investors) Tennor Holding.”

Watch as Jadon Sancho leaves rival on his backside with silky skill in Dortmund’s 5-0 win over Holstein Kiel

THIS is the dazzling moment Jadon Sancho showcased some silky skills to leave a rival on his BACKSIDE as Borussia Dortmund set up a German Cup final against RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga giants hammered second-tier side Holstein Kiel 5-0 in Saturday’s semi-final.

And Dortmund will go searching for a fifth German Cup triumph in ten days’ time as they bid to salvage an underwhelming season.
Teen sensation Gio Reyna scored twice in the semi stunner, with Marcos Reus, Thorgan Hazard and England Euro hopeful Jude Bellingham also netting.
But it was a delicious piece of trickery from Sancho early on to leave Dortmund fans on the edge of their seats.
The wizard winger, 21, needed just six minutes to put his talents on display with a driving dribble against 34-year-old Fin Bartels down Dortmund’s left flank.
Sancho tickled the ball along as Bartels retreated before producing a couple of wicked feints.
Veteran midfielder Bartels was left bamboozled by Sancho’s sharp feet.
And he promptly fell on his behind as his legs became tangled, allowing Sancho to turn on the afterburners and sprint away towards the Kiel penalty area.
Sancho has been at Dortmund since 2017 following an £8million move from Manchester City.

He’s since scored 46 goals in 133 games for the Bundesliga outfit.
But after Manchester United failed to bring Sancho back to the Premier League last summer, Dortmund chief Michael Zorc admits there is a gentleman’s agreement in place to sell Sancho for the right price.
However, this does NOT apply to star striker Erling Haaland – also a target for United, as well as Man City and Chelsea.
Sporting director Zorc told ARD: “We already had a gentleman’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions.
“He’s been with us for a couple of years. However, this agreement does not exit with Erling.
“In the end (with United), the requirements were not met.”

Erling Haaland covers eyes as Dortmund team-mate Mateu Morey suffers horror leg injury in win over Holstein Keil

ERLING HAALAND was forced to cover his eyes after Dortmund team-mate Mateu Morey suffered a horrific injury on Saturday.Dortmund were up against Holstein Kiel, who had beaten Bayern Munich on penalties in the previous round of the DFB-Pokal Cup.

But the minnows could not repeat the feat and cause another upset as they were swept aside by Dortmund in the semi-final.
Giovanni Reyna (2), Marco Reus, Thorgan Hazard and Jude Bellingham all found the net to fire their team into the final with a resounding 5-0 win.
However, the stunning triumph was completely overshadowed by an injury to Morey.
The Spaniard came off the bench just after the hour mark but he would only last 12 minutes before tragedy struck.
The defender got his knee stuck in the turf as he stretched for the ball before he went crumbling to the ground in agony.
The 21-year-old over extended and his leg ended up bending in shocking fashion.
The stricken star was stretchered off and replaced by Thomas Meunier.
But the cameras soon panned to in-demand star striker Haaland – who Dortmund insist is going nowhere this summer despite Manchester United’s interest.

He was watching the action from the stands after being ruled out through a slight muscular problem.
And he was visibly in distress as he put his head in his hands and covered his eyes after witnessing his friend suffer the grim-looking injury.
Despite reaching the final, Dortmund boss Edin Terzic insisted the injury overshadowed the win.
Afterwards he said: “Of course we’re happy about the result. And it was a perfect evening until the 75th minute.
“But the injury to Mateu Morey leaves a cloud over everything.
“Knowing what a fantastic boy he is, it hurts all the more. He’s on his way to hospital. We hope to know a bit more tomorrow.”
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke added: “The pictures looked terrible.
“We now need an exact diagnosis and can only hope it’s not that bad.”
It has now been confirmed Morey has ruptured the cruciate ligament in his right knee and will undergo surgery today.

Erling Haaland has ‘agreed to STAY at Dortmund next season’, claims club boss amid Man Utd and Chelsea transfer interest

BORUSSIA DORTMUND have claimed Erling Haaland has agreed to stay with them this summer. The 20-year-old striker is one of the most-coveted players on the planet thanks to his incredible goalscoring exploits in Germany.

Rumours of a potential big-money exit were ignited recently when his agent Mino Raiola and father embarked on a tour of Europe and met with several clubs to discuss his future.
Manchester United, Chelsea, Man City plus Real Madrid and Barcelona were all linked with a £150m-rated transfer swoop.
Recent speculation had claimed that the prospect of Haaland remaining at Dortmund hinged on whether they qualified for next season’s Champions League.
He has a £65m release clause that will kick in next summer, with many believing his club would look to cash in for over double that this summer.
However, one of Dortmund’s top executives has insisted their star man is going nowhere at the end of the campaign.
Sporting director Sebastian Kehl said: “I understand that Erling Haaland will play for Borussia Dortmund in the new season.
“Erling totally agrees. I see him every day and I can say that he completely identifies with the club.”
The Norwegian international continues to not let the transfer speculation affect his displays on the pitch.

He is the top scorer in this season’s Champions League with ten goals and has an impressive tally of 37 in 38 matches in all competitions.
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke also told Sport1: “I’ve known Raiola for a long time and get along well with him. It’s no problem for us.
“Erling Haaland will remain a Borussia Dortmund player next year.”
Meanwhile Dortmund have confirmed a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ to allow Jadon Sancho to leave in the summer.
Man United tried to sign the England winger last year and are tipped to renew their interest if he becomes available.
And it is reported that Borussia may drop their valuation of the 21-year-old to the £85million mark – having previously demanded £108m.
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc confirmed the situation on Saturday after his side’s 5-0 DFB-Pokal win over Holstein Kiel.
Zorc told German portal ARD: “We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can move under certain conditions.”

But he confirmed that no such agreement is in place with Erling Haaland.
Zorc told German portal ARD: “We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can move under certain conditions.
“However, this agreement doesn’t exist with Erling.”
According to Sport1, Borussia are willing to accept a smaller fee ahead of Sancho’s contract expiring in 2023.

It is not known what ‘conditions’ Zorc alluded to but the club are struggling to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
With three games to go, Dortmund sit fifth in the Bundesliga table and a point off the qualification places.
Fourth-place Eintracht Frankfurt also have the easier run-in as Borussia face top-six rivals RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen in the final weeks, and Leipzig again in the German Cup final.
Sancho has once again enjoyed an impressive year in front of goal, contributing 12 strikes and 18 assists, two of which came against Kiel.

Manchester United are ready to up the ante in their market dealings after Eric Bailly signed a new contract, with Edinson Cavani not far behind.

Real Madrid eye Robert Lewandowski transfer and Bayern Munich striker could be available for £52m with deal running down

REAL MADRID are interested in signing Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, according to reports.Lewandowski, 32, has always been keen on moving to the Bernabeu and told the German champions he wanted to leave in 2018.
Robert Lewandowski has frequently been linked to Real Madrid in recent years
He now has two years left on his contract and because of that he could be available on a cheaper deal around £52million, according to Sky Sports Germany.
However, signing Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland is believed to be top priority for Real Madrid.
But Bayern Munich could allow Lewandowski to leave, the report states, as they need to bring in money due to the economic crisis brought on by the pandemic.
Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, is said to be listening to offers from various clubs in Europe, so Los Blancos may have to act quickly to land the forward.
But since Lewandowski has always been keen to play for Madri – which was one of the reasons why he hired Zahavi – he could prioritise them ahead of other interested clubs.
The Pole has won 20 trophies during his time in Germany and has scored 272 Bundesliga goals.
Karim Benzema has been in form for Real Madrid but Lewandowski should be confident of taking his place in the team.

The Spanish side came close to signing the striker in 2018, and reportedly even agreed a fee with Bayern Munich.
They also had a chance to sign him for just £17million from Borussia Dortmund, not long after Lewandowski scored four goals against them in the first leg of a Champions League semi-final tie in 2013.
If Dortmund remain stubborn with Haaland and PSG do the same with Mbappe, Madrid could turn their focus on finally signing Lewandowski.

Real Madrid CAN afford £154m Erling Haaland transfer this summer, according to Mino Raiola despite chief Perez’s claims

A DEAL between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund for £154m-rated Erling Haaland CAN be done this summer, according to Mino Raiola. The striker’s agent has dismissed Florentino Perez’s concerns over the finances of the deal – claiming the club cannot afford NOT to sign him.

The collapse of the European Super League led to the Real chief voicing his concern over Los Blancos’ ability to sign big-name players such as Haaland.
But Madrid have not bought any players in over a year and Raiola opened the door to a move to the Spanish capital or Barcelona.
The 53-year-old told AS: “I don’t know [if Real can afford Haaland], because I haven’t studied their finances.
“But I believe so, yes. I think everyone can afford him.
“But the question is this: can Madrid afford not to buy Haaland? And the same for Barcelona?
“It’s difficult but not impossible [for Barcelona].
“That is the job of a club president. It is the same for the clubs as it is for the players.
“A train passes by and what do you do? You take it or you don’t take it. And that’s the big question.”
BETTING SPECIAL – 80/1 FOR A PENALTY FOR EITHER SIDE
When a club like Barcelona or Madrid arrives, with so much history, it is difficult to say no. Mino Raiola
Raiola has accepted that Borussia do not want to sell 20-year-old Haaland, who has hit 37 goals this season.
But a reported £154million deal could be done if the right opportunity ‘presents itself’ with Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Manchester City named as potential destinations.
The agent said: “[Not selling] is the official position of Dortmund.
“But I have another position, I think that if a good opportunity presents itself and everyone is happy, we will put it on the table.”
He added: “Haaland is interested in two things: scoring goals, because he is like a Cristiano [Ronaldo] or a Zlatan [Ibrahimovic], he has that positive obsession; and winning titles.
“And he will choose, surely, where those two things will likely happen most often.

“It is very difficult to lie. When a club like Barcelona or Madrid arrives, with so much history, it is difficult to say no.
“PSG are entering this group of greats, City are trying to get there, Juve have always been there.
“The championship they play in also matters. PSG play in the worst league of the greats. Bayern are already in an attractive league, but we know that they always win it. In Spain there are three [clubs] with a chance.”
Perez’s concerns that the doomed European Super League breakaway will damage Madrid’s market prospects also left Raiola baffled.
Far from viewing the project as a terrible idea, he instead believed it would be a ‘wonderful experiment’ if it co-existed with the Champions League.
Raiola explained: “Ferrari can race one car in Formula One and another in LeMans.
“Why can’t Madrid play in the Champions League and also in the Super League? It would be the most wonderful experiment in football.
“Have two tournaments, the Champions League and Super League. And let the general public decide which one they like best.

“I watched the protests in the street with disbelief. They were protests against something that had not yet been explained.
“They protested against the feeling of a closed competition. But the Super League would not be forced upon them?
“If you hate it, don’t buy the rights or pay to see it. If you want to see it… go ahead. But the key is the word ‘also’.”
